The Knife is a Swedish brother/sister duo making incredible deep sounds. I stumbled upon this guys by listening to the song Heartbeats.

This happened two years ago and I’m still addicted to this gorgeous song.

Colourful is the word that describes Heartbeats best. Also colourful is the CD cover and the mixture of the songs on Deep Cuts.

I strongly recommend this record to you, It’s worth the money for heartbeats alone.

Simple beautiful

As simple and peaceful this colour feels like, as gorgeous is Leo Babautas blog zenhabits.

He writes about learning and changing habits for easier living. His articles helped me a lot recently and I can’t recommend this great resource enough.

Don’t forget to look at the beautiful and simple site design, there are just a few colours with a wonderful harmony.

Purple and green – what a combination

Now it’s time for a purple flower.

The colour is taken from a vector flower I created as my first free giveaway for denhartenweg. I especially like the combination of the deep purple and the green from the foliage.

Elegant brown – make websites look special

Brown is not only a popular family name, it’s also a colour that could look very elegant if used right.

But in the huge world wide web you don’t see brown very often as a website colour.

Collis Ta’eed used a brown for his phenomenal tutorial blog psdtuts.com. And previously brown was the background colour oft the entire site. Recently he published a redesign and changed the main background to white.

I think he wants to achieve a better readability because light brown font with a dark brown background looks good but your eyes get tired if you read long text that way.

You can find the brown in the header and I still think it makes psdtuts.com something special and stand out from the rest.

It’s not easy being green

I start this blog with my all-time-since-i-was-a-child favoured colour: green.

And this is not just a green, it’s the green of my bathrobe. When I wake up in the morning, the colours of my bathrobe makes me smile just when I slip into it.

And I know, not everyone likes green. Worse, there are people who hate green. So it’s time for a song:

It’s not easy being green
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things
And people tend to pass you over ’cause you’re
Not standing out like flashy sparkles in the water
Or stars in the sky.
