Eddie’s first book, a collection of humorous essays entitled Mental: Funny in the Head (Kensington Books July 2009) has received excellent reviews, is currently in its third printing, and was the featured selection of the InsightOut Book Club, a division of Bookspan, for the month of its release.  In addition, his writing has appeared in Metrosource, Out, and LA Confidential Magazines.

Joyner is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from a family of seven brothers and sisters, and is the son of a preacher who is the only man who could make a Jehovah’s Witness say, “I think we have to go.” Joyner now makes his home in Santa Monica, California, which is a quaint little enclave where homeless people and interracial couples go to live in peace.

Joyner was formerly the host of MTV’s 1/2 Hour Comedy Hour. He has appeared many times on the Late Show with David Letterman, Showtime’s Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival, as well as his own One Night Stand special on HBO.

Corporate events require tremendous talent and experience. Foul language and off color or controversial topics must be avoided, and the professional comedian must also appeal to a corporate crowd, which tends to be a bit more educated and more professional than the general population.

In addition to considering the comedian’s specialty and availability for corporate occasions, it’s essential to consider price range. The more high-profile and famous the comedian is, the more expensive their fee will be, so it’s important to select an affordable comedian with appearance fees that will match your price range.
