Or the Department of Labor could use it to determine whether or not more businesses utilize telecommuting, or what the benefits of telecommuting would be.Honestly, the Census Bureau is the most docile of all government agencies. They are the keepers of the data, which is why they have privacy laws to keep sharks from other govt. agencies away from your identifying info. I dutifully completed it, in its entirety, and handed it over to the good ol’ USPS very next day. I guess as a reward for my promptness, I then received the ACS. After reviewing it, I threw it in the trash. Frankly, I don’t understand how you could have actually reviewed the ACS and asked a question like “If it’s so invasive, how come this information can be found through other legal means?” Really? What “legal means” does the government have to determining what time I leave my home for work and how long my commute it (Q’s 33 & 34)? What business is it of theirs what my job function is (Q 46), or if I work without pay for a family business (Q41)? I could go on and on regarding what information they have no “legal means” to determine unless they have a CB worker follow me 24/7 (your tax dollars, hard at work as usual). If you really think the ACS is so non-invasive, why don’t you just print it out, complete it (in its entirety) and send it in as my proxy, you have the link. Put up or shut up.
