Nick,

There is no ONE exercise that is the end all, be all of getting bigger muscles. Yes, push ups are one of the most effective exercises for arms/shoulders/triceps, but cross-training is critical to ensure that you continue to get results, and that you don't get an overuse injury.

Hi,
Ive been doing something along the lines of 500 pushups every other day, in one sit, in sets containing 30+ reps. I was wondering if it was necessary for me to hit the weight machines or if I could simply continue escalating my pushup workout to increase my chest and arm size?

Thanks

[...] My only complaint is that Kenpo X, which is a cardio workout, doesn’t really pack a lot of intensity. Since tomorrow is a Rest/Stretch Day, I wish that Kenpo X brought a little more punch (no pun intended). There are a few ways to kick it up a notch on your own. [...]

Gilbert,

Sport-specific training is made up of 2 parts:

1) Physical Conditioning
2) Sport-specific technique practice

Anyone who tells you that one is more important than the other is just setting you up for failure. Specific to baseball training, a quick search on the Internet turned up all of these results:

Andy,

There are any number of abdominal workout variations, even with just these 6 exercises. The key is to make sure that EVERY SINGLE abdominal workout is truly challenging, and that you cross-train by not doing the exact same workout over and over again.

Personally, I'm a fan of variety, so I would choose 3 exercises and make an entire abdominal workout out of those 3 exercises. Then, 2 days later, I would do a workout with the other 3 exercises, then back to the original exercise set on day 5. Do that for a few weeks and you'll definitely see and feel the difference!

Rusty,

In an IDEAL situation, you would never do any type of resistance training without having some carbohydrates in your system. If you train intensely (as you will with every P90X workout), your body needs carbs for energy in order to both power and also recover from the workouts.

However, at the same time, the morning is the ideal time to lose body fat because your body is in a naturally carb-depleted state after sleeping.

Personally, I do P90X workouts mid-day or late evening after I have had carbs during the day, and I do separate cardiovascular workouts in the morning. However, if the morning is the only time that you have to workout, then yes, you should ingest a reasonable number of carbs before doing your P90X workouts.

Cris,

Yes, you do one disk each day, although when I did it, I took one day off each week, and it was the day that was just stretching. There is an entire disk that is packed with A LOT of great stretching exercises, but I only did that disk whenever I was feeling particularly tight or stiff.

Otherwise, yes, you workout with one disc each day, and here is the correct order to do the P90X workouts in
