Thanks so much for the complements! I am thrilled that you have enjoyed both Lasso the Movies and the James Bond series.

In regards to "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", last year I watched this film for the first time in years and was very impressed. Then I watched it twice this last week and each time I found it to be more and more lacking. I enjoy the seriousness of the film and in many ways consider it to be ahead of its time. Obviously this film follows the books better as well, but it does seem to lack some of the "magic" that other Bond films contain. I think it gets a bad wrap overall, but in the end I find myself wanting more.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this film. I enjoyed hearing a different opinion.

I've been following LTM for some time now, and must say you do a great job. I have been introduced to some excellent films, particularly westerns - thank you.
I was intrigued when you started the Bond thing, because I knew soon enough you would come to OHMSS, one of my favourites. A shame you only gave three stars to what I consider a 5-star movie, for most of the reasons you outline. The film brings Bond off in a new direction, and as a fan of the books, I think this is more like Fleming's character. And, as you rightly point out, the action in excellent and not so staged as before.
I look forward to more.... Keep up the good work.

I love Little Caesar! And White Heat!

What's funny about you posting this now is that TCM is playing Little Caesar, The Petrified Forest and White Heat today (5/21). I'm definitely going to try and catch The Petrified Forest.

I also need to see Side Effects already.

Glad to see that you enjoyed it as much as myself. I know it must be hard to make a film in a franchise and make it entertaining for a new audience, but I think Abrams has done a marvelous job.

I am a fan of calling it "The Scotty Show". It might even be better than "Into Darkness"!

The movie truly did accomplish a seamless combination of story and action, with relationships being an important focus. There was enough referencing the TV past to please long-time fans, but nothing that would impede enjoyment on the part of a newer audience. My daughter and I were alternately punching each other and clasping hands.

I look forward to seeing this one more than once. I have subtitled it, "The Scotty Show".
