@Rob: Thank you! I’m glad to be getting over this too! Turns out, my advice on how to beat writers block doesn’t even work! lol!

@Henry: Your welcome. I didn’t mean for the article to be inspirational but… I’m glad you feel that way. I’m sure a lot of us wish we could go back to school and actually pay attention. I know I’d be a lot smarter today if I would’ve.

@Nick: Thanks! That’s exactly what I had to do. Sit down and just write. I almost had to force myself to do it and I’m very happy I did.

Very interesting story, Timothy. It actually sounds quite familiar – I’ve struggled with some of the same problems.

The best fix I’ve found so far is to just chill and say, “I’m going to do this.” Once you get started again, it’s like what you said – a sense of relief just seems to follow. You get going again and it feels good.

Very inspirational Tim. In school I was the exact same kid. Hated English class but now I love it. But I can’t write. I’m on a different boat. My grammar and sentence structure is a bit off. I’d love to go back to school just for English and write as many essays as possible. One day. For now I will continue to read more articles and more books to help me express my thoughts through writing.

I am glad to see that the funk fog seems to be lifting and that you are finding your words again. Any creative block is tough to deal with, and though there are so many ‘proven’ methods that others, including myself, wax poetically about, they don’t always work.

I think that the idea of changing the place where you write is jsut great if you have a laptop, but it can become hard since you’re using a desktop coputer.

Thanks for your kind words Michael. I think that it’s imperative to relax and think straight to write. In fact, the same principles could apply to other forms of creative work. In general, things don’t come out well when they’re forced.
