Most people make the mistake of simply ending up using who knows what product to clean. A golden rule of thumb: when you clean anything and you do not know what to do, talk to a jeweler and buy something based on his recommendation.

Spotting a fake from the real deal is my number one concern and I’ve discussed it with mate’s before who have also shared the same worry.

I would have never have known about the ‘fog test’ although I love the fact that’s something you can do, on-the-spot to give you a really practical idea of what you’re dealing with.

Would you advise to always get it appraised anyway though, Ron, when all is said and done?

For a bloke that has very little idea when it comes to engagement rings, this site is a God-send, mate.

Personalising the wedding band or are the very least, tracking down the one that matches your personality is vital because, just like you said, you need to wear it proudly until the day you die. It’s good to see that guys especially now have a lot more options when it comes to wedding bands than we did 5 – 10 years ago.

I’ve also gotta admit when I read this… “Or until they divorce, of course” I did have a bit of a chuckle!

I prefer the antique rings because they remind me of the every lasting love in the old romantic movies such as Casablanca. Probably it sound funny or crazy but I reckon that antique rings are imbued with feeling and memories.
