Mar 2026

Worship The Lord in March! “Michiganders” have always appreciated the month of March because it offers by the Lord’s design: Spring! After working through the cold of winter the anticipation of warmer weather and flowers emerging from the ground is really welcomed. No matter the weather the Lord brings, one can appreciate the growth in your life through God’s powerful Holy Scriptures. Daily reading the Bible and faithfully worshipping God on Sundays and Wednesdays will foster lasting increase of your faith. Will you dedicate yourself to being in one more church service each week, Hebrews 10:25 “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as we see the day approaching.”

As the church prepares for Palm Sunday, the Passover and Easter which celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, let us gather together to Worship the Lord by being in church!

Here is a February question for you to answer for me: What do you have when you add two dynamic speakers, a I Love MY CHURCH Sunday, a couples Happily Ever After Seminar with Dinner, an International Breakfast and a Missions Conference/Candlelight service? How about this for an answer? A time of faith. A time of soul searching. A time of unity. A time of fellowship. A time to help others do the work of the ministry.

The lineup is extraordinary: Brother Joe Willis and Brother Aaron Wilson.

Each Sunday at 11 AM missions and the church opportunity to do the work of God both across the world and your street to let them know Jesus saves. The missionary vision is the key to following our Lord and Savior.

A genuine missionary, dedicated to Jesus’ person, lives his life for the audience of One.

Would you be a missionary? Would you pray for a missionary? Would you partner with a missionary through Faith Promise Missions in 2026?
Aspiring to live my life for the audience of One,

The death of my wife, Wendy, was a defining moment in my life where the Lord used the loss of my wife of 38 & years 10 months to mold me for His service. With the Lord’s gentle kindness, God made the way possible. Wendy graduated to heaven on May 11, 2018, from inoperable brain cancer. Leading up to her demise, with the help of our son, daughter-in-law, and church family, pastoring was made possible to work at pleasing Him and then to continue and add to His work.

I’m Looking forward to what He will do through her testimony and our calling together. PTL He is using me to tell others of God’s mercy and His calling while navigating our uncharted health. There was a mystery of what was happening in her life, and we quietly searched together to find His answer. I am now helping others in the present ministry of pastoring and hospice chaplain.

At 58 years of age, my wife developed some comorbidities that were concerning. We made appointments with the medical field to address the health issues. Wendy received a clean bill of health from a cardiologist, a relief as her mom had passed from a sudden heart attack. Research into dementia/Alzheimer’s, which took her father, showed negative tests also. While looking for health solutions, we encouraged our two sons, their wives, and their children, as they were early in their pastoral ministries. Wendy helped our local church as a ladies’ teacher, visiting the elderly, and in music, we planted, and I pastored. I continue to pastor the church we founded in 1990.

Her general practitioner shared that we could not continue testing because the insurance company wouldn’t approve more to get to the bottom of her symptoms. It was only after Wendy went to a chiropractor visit that clarity came to light to seek answers through the ER at the hospital. We prayed in the parking that August afternoon in 2017 after many doors were closed in the medical field. The Lord answered through a young physician, who ordered a CAT scan, which revealed more. The physician stood outside the curtain-clad examination room, a noisy area of dozens of examination-curtained walled rooms. The teary-eyed nurse (Whom my Wife had led to the Lord Years before) peaked in my wife through the curtain, telling us the doctor was about to come with some serious news.

“I just wanted to prepare you.” My wife, Wendy, said, “Dr, do you have some news for me?” He said “yes but it’s not good news.” I said sir we’re Christians it’s okay what are the findings we’ve been searching for a year?” Wendy said “This is a relief to me. I feel so bad for you that you have to come in and tell people things they don’t wanna hear but you see Dr I put my trust in Christ. My husband is a pastor we believe in the Lord, and we believe God has brought you our life to help us to go forward.” I said, The physician said that my wife had a rare cancer. He believed that it was aggressive cancer and that we would need to go to another hospital across town for validation of his diagnosis. Still, he was pretty sure that it was a “Glioblastoma (Grade IV): The most severe form of astrocytoma, glioblastoma is highly malignant and known for its rapid growth and poor prognosis. It typically occurs in adults aged 50 to 70 and can develop in various brain regions, including the spinal cord and brain stem.”
We asked the physician for permission to pray for him as he went about and did the rest of his duties that day, and we thanked him and his nurse for their kindness, and I told him that I would take my wife immediately to the hospital so that we could get Tests on her condition. He said you don’t seem to understand. She can’t move from this bed unless you do so in an ambulance. Just one movement could release this cancer through her body, so it’ll be necessary for paramedics to be with her every moment. The gravity of his announcement was relief, and I followed my wife into the ambulance, got the car, followed her, and shared that we were on our way to Sparrow Hospital. Moments were being wheeled into a hospital room where the hospital team came and said that they would need to run the same CAT scan. My wife turned to the physician and said I don’t want any more tests unless my husband is with me. I will be with her every moment. The physician said I could not be in the CAT scan room when she came out of the room. She was in tears. She said whatever you do, please don’t let me be alone. I prayed along with her, and promised not leaving her when I did my very best with her. Physicians shared with us that it was cancer, in their opinion appeared to be a rapidly growing, but that to be able to treat it they would need to do biopsy. I’m sure with you it just involves as shaving head of hair goes above the brain that it could be fatal paralysis, but the only way that they could tell what was going about this procedure. They had with Mayo Clinic physician through something we’ve had to do the head through the side of the brain cells within a few hours after grinding permission, my wife was in surgery. They let me stay in the room until before the surgery and step out and wait and pray trust God and came to the room along with his team and shared that his suspicion proven true the cancer Grasso and their counter team coming in speak to me, we never gonna be a cancer when we we suspected it would be dementia like her father experience when he two weeks of the same sermon my mother-in-law shared with you know that the same sermon point illustration in the pulpit, he resigned that Sunday afternoon after being there for 23 years of Orlando Baptist Temple my responsibility with my wife treatment and the physician shared with us. There was treatment, but would not sustain our life make her life more comfortable radiation should be 80% of the day to go home we cared for her physician said that they were three paths of this particular cancer was a bicycle, there’s a race car and there’s a jet with this particular cancer and that there were no test and there were no treatments and no experimental treatments in their nation cancer rare something were developed. I would certainly contact us. They would have path on the bike race car are the jets. She said we were somewhere between the race car and the jet, probably three months without any treatment, with treatment maybe four months the cells were rolling the tumor several tumors like an asteroid removing inside of her thank you so much care for who started heading towards seeing position pull over parade. Preston other physicians included that lead us to enjoying her life, trusting God, if you desire to heal her that you do so here on this earth, or heal her by allowing her to go to heaven, my wife each day we would wake up and with the medicines that were given to us to help her with paralysis. The steroids would make it so she would sleep for she’ll be alert for two hours and then rest for an hour and alert for two hours and rest for an hour 24 cycle and then when some sort of normalcy came in, would my youngest son, daughter-in-law or lady or two from the church sit with her on Sunday morning & night I’m gone to preach. There were no times she was alone, but love you and company, have nothing to fear. She have someone there with her to comfort her encourage her sister because she developed a paralysis was lost ability to be mobile equilibrium Walker, and then we went from a walker after three months to wheelchair to a being in the bed.

My hope is not to highlight my struggles but the grace of the Lord at each turn. His discernment it’s so refreshing so encouraging so enlightening.

The Lord’s grace in showing us Coping elements:

-Prayer-since our marriage we prayed together each day holding hands, if either were gone away/speaking out or ministry serving we called on phone. God the Holy Spirit led the Apostle Paul to pen 1 Thessalonians 5:16-28

16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

Because of God’s leading, I’ve continued praying each day throughout day and many nights, as I’ve found God is listening and responsive to talking to Him. There is a peace that comes in praying unlike anything else in this world. What a blessing to have God accessible through prayer. Praise, repenting, asking and yielding someone penned as an acrostic for prayer! I heard a preacher at Camp CoBeAc say if you walk regularly and pray it can benefit you, Pastor Teis, Leading congregation in Lord’s Prayer Matthew 6 Matthew 6:9-13
“9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Purchased a portable gas grill and prepared our meal simple elegant-fresh fish or kogel hot dog or salmon filets that we kept in cooler in case I didn’t catch a keeper, a tossed salad & Diet Coke.

The wedding ring was worn on the fourth finger of the left hand, a custom based on the belief that a vein — known as the vena amoris, or “vein of love” — connected this finger directly to the heart. This tradition may have originated in ancient Egypt, where rings were seen as symbols of eternity; the ring’s circular shape, with no beginning and no end, made it a powerful representation of infinity. While the vena amoris has since been proved
(a ·nuh-taa’·muh·klee
anatomically incorrect, the symbolic ring placement on the left hand’s fourth finger remains customary. Ours were purchased for wedding ceremony, I only removed hers and mine once she was laid in her coffin and placed them envelopes for safe keeping of grandchildren if they desire them at their wedding. Symbol of rings with the unending circle pictures love of God and our dedication each for the other and and both for the Lord. We sang to each other, one of my wife’s favorite hymns at our wedding would you join me now? “Savior, like a shepherd lead us,
Much we need Thy tender care;
In Thy pleasant pastures feed us,
For our use Thy folds prepare:
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus,
Thou hast bought us, Thine we are;
Blessèd Jesus, blessèd Jesus,
Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.”

Wendy lived 9 months after being diagnosed in the hospital, cubicle room and we were able to worship together in church from August through Christmas and then I was able to have ladies in the church. Sit with her so that I could go and preach and teach Sundays and Wednesdays and then return to her and host counseling on her front porch and have hospice nurse come in twice a week to our home and she will live our life except for the last two weeks of her life. We moved into a hospice house where I just set up camp in the room and folks would come visit her privilege that hospice nurses would come get me to go and pray with other Residence and patients in the hospice house while they would sit with my wife and able to see several of the other patients come to Jesus as their savior. from that time,

I find the theme of this conference theme fitting for on my wife’s tombstone is Titus 2:13 Looking for that Blessed Hope

“Have Roz decorate for Christmas”

Grieving as a believer at Christmas and the Holidays

For the past month I’ve shared notes from a devotion book given to my wife by a pastor friend and his wife who were very thoughtful. When they sent the gift, I don’t believe Dr. And Mrs. Paul Chappell could have known the gift to my terminally ill wife would make such an impact for years to come, but they sent it anyways. We would open the devotional each morning and read it together then I would hurry into my caregiver role while working as pastor of the church God called us to plant and I pastored for 27 years. Fast forward six years, I am doing the same thing each morning with the devotional book and my Bible, reading, sipping on black coffee and taking notes in the margins.

One of the healing practices I recommend is reading, meditating and even summarizing while you think on the Scriptures and companion books. The words on the pages are more meaningful when you allow the treasures to be invested in a personal way. Wendy and I were married for nearly thirty-nine years and I cannot recall a day she didn’t “do her devotions”, beginning her morning with a cup of tea I would prepare for her, warm-not too hot with sweetener, she would read and then write in the devotional book a note or two. The little comments that are now treasures to many, who I share them with, through taking a simple photo and then forward to them (on occasion giving them a devotional book or Bible she had written in).

I had read that people, being cognizant of their soon homegoing to Heaven, would write some notes for those left behind. After their passing, the remnant would discover the note and know what was important, what is next, or how to proceed down the winding paths ahead. Well, there was no such note for me from my bride, no last testament, no bucket list or was there? These little devotion notes are her last instructions and encouraging thoughts for so many, I called them her sermons at the time, she would smile and say, “Now Tim, you know I don’t preach it isn’t lady like.” However, she did “preach”, but it really wasn’t offensive because she would have tears flowing down her cancer swollen cheeks as she clumsily used her partially paralyzed left hand to pen some thoughts. So, as you flip through your smart phone and see a copy of her devotions with her notes off to the sides consider the help God’s Word and the author of the devotion book lent to her that morning. Those treasures impacted her, she knew there was nothing she did to have the terminal illness, this was not an injust God pouring out wrath on a disobedient follower, she knew sickness occurs as part of God’s plan. Although the prosperity preachers would disagree that believers can be ill, can be financially poor, can have difficulties and still be in the center of God’s will. The Scriptures, claim suffering is part of the path in life for many. Consider the lives of Job, Joseph, Jeremiah, Daniel, Paul- all suffered and God gave them hope through it all.

While pulling out the totes of decorations, searching for Christmas wrapping paper I found another treasure. I have gifted several boxes of decorations, my wife loved Christmas and had accumulated several pieces of decorations, I have enjoyed sharing with many. I even found a family that needed a nice artificial tree and gifted ours to them. I had accused Wendy of trying to start her own Frankenmuth “Bronners Christmas Store” in our home, she was a talented decorator. Things have changed, I could never match her decorating skills and a seven-foot artificial tree spinning on its platform wasn’t the same since she has gone to Heaven. There it was on the top of one of gift bags she helped me label her last Christmas together six years ago, a note from Wendy. It had instructions of her wishes for the church decorations. One of the many gifted ladies at the church, was commissioned to decorate, it wouldn’t be best for me to carry that opportunity, she had penned her wishes in a few simple words. From beyond the grave her words sounded forth, “Have Roz decorate for Christmas”. Several people have helped my daughter-in-law Kyla get the decorating job done at church. With the help of Joe our son and their three little children, Stephen, Elijah and Gloriann helping bring down the boxes and boxes from the church attic to the the main floor to turn the worship center into a Christmas bliss. I placed the hand written note in a book and gave it to Roz on Christmas Eve, she was elated.

Perhaps the Lord could use you to spur someone on to a closer relationship with the Savior through sharing a devotion and a portion of the Scripture. Maybe this blog could encourage you to think of someone you can send a note to and invite them to help out in your ministry like decorate the church, volunteers are in short supply.

Thankfulness for all things…

Exodus 15:10

10 Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them:

They sank as lead in the mighty waters.[1]

Thankfulness is not natural but it is able to be nurtured in a person isn’t it? The Children of Israel were just led from four hundred years of captivity and they were hardly considered grateful to Moses when they saw the trial of their enemies behind them and the Jordan River in front of them. Really, can you blame them? They had been living by sight and now Moses was leading by faith, a huge step depending on God, the Deliverer. You know how it turned out, God performed a miracle and the river stopped with the wind of the Lord drying the very river bed and the people of Israel walked into safety on dry land while the following Egyptian armies were drowned when they attempted to follow His called.

1. Never doubt the Lord, trust His Word-Depend on God!

2. Always look to the Lord, even when the enemy is chasing and there are obstructions in front of you-Focus on God!

3. Put your confidence in the Almighty God as He knows the past, present and future-Trust God!

4. Walk the path God makes, His “Trip Ticket” is an exciting adventure-Anticipate Great Things!

5. Remember God has seen you through other trials (Ten Plaques were fresh on Israel’s mind)-He is able!

6. Continue praying for those Who He has called and are faithful as He is in control-God equips!

7. Expect great things from God, as He desires to be glorified through His children-Praise God!

Here is my challenge for you: share one thing you are thankful about the Lord to someone each day in November. I have listed seven truths from the passage what can you add?

Thankful for the Lord,

Pastor Jackson

Untold millions are still untold
Untold millions are still outside the fold

Who will tell them of Jesus’ love
And the heavenly mansions awaiting above
Jesus died on Calvary to save each one from sin

Now he calls to you and to me
To go and bring them in
For many untold millions are still untold
Untold millions are outside the fold
Who will tell them of Jesus’ love
And the heavenly mansions awaiting above

The Gospel song was from my youth, the church promoted having a vision for the lost and then reaching the lost with prayer, tracts, Bibles, service, evangelism and Faith Promise Missions giving every paycheck to provide for the missionaries.

The mission of the church was founded on pleasing God, this years Faith Promise Missions will adopt Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

The Goal is for the power of each saved person to reach the millions one at a time. Our plan is as follows: 1. Pray for missions, one missionary a day and one unsaved family or friend or neighbor each day. 2. One dollar gift each week for missions: for those who have never given faithfully start with one dollar per week, for those who are giving trust God for to increase your giving for missions, one dollar more. 3. One tract per week, you be a missionary by distributing personally one tract each week to one person for their salvation in the Lord. 4. One missionary Ministry each month, you are being asked to start in one area as a substitute or as a helper or as a leader once each month: Master’s Club, Van Ministry, Food Pantry, Door to Door Visitation, Trustee. 5. One letter a month to a missionary, write and send out one letter of encouragement. 6. One mission trip this year, plan for it and then go on it with our church to help the lost to know Jesus. 7. One missionary family to be taken on by the church in faith to see His Word go forth.

There are untold millions, that need the Lord and our church will work together for one at a time through faith promise missions.

Not Ashamed of the Gospel,
Pastor Jackson

“I was positive that I shouldn’t do it, but I did it anyways.” Arnold Palmer’s statement about taking recognition from a friend (just a simple handshake on his sixteenth hole of the final round) and not staying focused while golfing in the 1961 Masters Tournament. That single congratulatory moment cost Palmer and he recounted the loss, 39 years later while being interviewed. How could someone who had won hundreds of games of golf competitions, several

major tournaments in his lifetime lose his focus? By not doing what he knew he should do, that is how! The Children of Israel took their eyes off the Lord as they were heading to the promised land, and fear reigned. It was fear that took their focus from the journey that God had laid out. Exodus 14:10 And when Pharoah drew near, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried unto the Lord. What to do to re-focus? First, TALK to the Lord in prayer, after all He is the Master of Creation. Praise Him for His goodness, repent for your sin, Ask Him for help in your life, Yield to the Holy Spirit. Second, TRUST God’s Word through careful reading and studying. Finally, TURN your attention to God’s Way as the other matters are not pleasing to Him. TALK-TRUST-TURN! The summer will be over before you know it, this is a great time to reevaluate your goals for the Lord for the “to do list” to keep focused for the Lord: are

you Reading the Scriptures faithfully, witnessing for His Word to be shared with others and worshiping Him in church services each service, even when on vacation?

Praying for You!
