So, what are you – an amateur, advanced, master, or freakishly obsessed organizer?

What is your weirdest organizing obsession? I might have to think on this one a little. If I come up with mine I will post it in the comments. I am sure after Hubby reads this he will have a few to mention. :)

Jen from A Thousand Words used this Ikea kitchen unit in her previous home office. I just love how versatile their products can be. I chose a few of their kitchen units for a recent craft room organizing project as well.

In her new home Jen bought white cabinet doors to go with her studio desk. However, she did not let the brown doors go to waste. She was able to creatively reuse them throughout her home.

Here is a warm and inviting “Home Sweet Home” sign made by applying wooden words and distressing the edges.

I love this headboard Jen made from using four of the upper cabinet doors. And that is not all! She also made photo artwork and turned a book shelf into a cabinet but you will have to go see those ideas for yourself.

What are some creative ways you have reused things around your house?

The best way to avoid science experiments in the fridge or freezer is to mark your food. I keep a roll of masking tape and a sharpie in the kitchen. Whenever I have left over’s I put a small piece of tape on the lid and mark it with the date. Same goes for food bought in bulk and then frozen. Mark the container with what is inside and the date. I do this when I open food containers as well. No more guessing when the mayonnaise or cheese in a bag was opened. The few seconds it takes to mark your food will be worth it when you consider the alternative (the sniff test).

—————————————————————————————————————————————–
