Sharp Showcases 3D Cameraphone Concept at IFA 2010

Made by Sharp, this cameraphone prototype supports 3D image capture and 3D playback. The handset looks very much like an iPhone 4/Samsung Galaxy S hybrid with a touch of the Fujifilm Real 3D W3 camera, featuring two sensors at the back.

Just like the Nintendo 3DS, this device is based on a lenticular lens, allowing users to view 3D content without those pesky glasses. Sharp says that this 3D display phone is coming before the year end and it’s supposed to feature a 3 inch screen. The company also wants to bring this technology to higher diagonal units, reaching up to 10.1 inches so 3D tablets are also included.

New PSP Phone Design is Based on Sony Mylo 2

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.As we’re getting closer to what may be the launch of the very first PSP Phone, there’s another nifty concept of the device to glance at. Pictured below, the PSP Phone design made by iSuriv is based on the Sony Mylo 2 combined with a PSP and an XPERIA handset.

The supposed specs of the device include a 5 inch Super AMOLED screen, a Cortex A9 CPU, WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, plus 4G and an accelerometer. iSuriv also wants an accelerometer on the console phone, a proximity sensor, a light sensor and gyroscope. The internal memory will be 8/16GB, accompanied by a microSD slot, while the camera at the back will be an 8MP unit with LED flash and capable of 720p video recording.

A front 3MP unit will also be included, as for the input, it will be handled by a virtual QWERTY keyboard, accompanied by gaming controls when using the gaming feature. Combine this with what we already know about the supposed Sony Ericsson PSP Phone and you’ve got yourself a pretty promising console and handset.

iPhone 5 Concept, Possibly the Very First One!

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.We all know that the iPhone 4 was very much a failure, compared to the previous Apple handsets, so the need for a new device to repair the brand is great. Thus, we give you the iPhone 5 concept, the very first of its kind, unless there’s some other design out there.

For starters, the new iPhone will get rid of the antenna issues and it’ll be extremely flat, as seen in the image above. On the left side you’ll find a touch volume control mechanism, well, the entire left side will serve for that purpose, to be more precise. You’ll move your finger from bottom to top in order to reduce the volume.

iPhone 5 supports 4G connectivity (100 Mb/s in download) and it comes with adjustable backlight and the same great Retina Display on the iPhone. The camera at the back will be a 10.2 megapixel unit and the internal memory will be either 32GB or 64GB. A better battery will also be in the mix. What do you say? A mere project or something close to reality?

If you missed us and wondered where we have gone, well… holiday season explains it. Now we’re back in action, rested and ready to kick some tech ass. Also, it seems that some pretty nifty gizmos appeared while we were gone: the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the first iPhone 5 concept, a Sharp 3D cameraphone… We’ll show them all to you in the following days! This time we’re dealing with the Philips Fluid smartphone, a flexible OLED phone created by Brazilian designer Dinard da Mata.

You can wrap the device around your wrist and turn it into a bracelet for fashionable users. As you can see from the following images of the Philips concept phone, the handset supports gaming when the bracelet is rolled out horizontally, displaying virtual gaming controls. The phone looks pretty neat, but it seems a bit too fragile for our taste.

iPhone 4 Design Inspired by 3 Year Old Sony Ericsson Concept?

One thing is for sure: the folks of Mobilissimo have come up with an interesting theory, regarding the fact that this handset’s design, dating from 3 years back might have been the inspiration for the iPhone 4.

The design is still good enough to impress everyone even in 2010, when sliding phones with tiny displays and physical keys aren’t so cool any more. We can’t really say that Apple copied this look, but they could have used some of its traits on the newest iPhone. We wonder why Sony Ericsson didn’t take the same route…

Terrillo Walls created the Sony Ericsson Glory handset, a very slim gaming phone with PSP-like features. Considering the size of the device and how slim it is, this would make a pretty good tablet, don’t you think (if it were bigger)?

Sony Ericsson Glory runs Android 2.2 and it comes with a 1.3 GHz dual core Tegra 3 processor and a 4 inch multitouch display. The handset supports social networking features and uses the PlayStation Home service, a community-based social networking offer from Sony. This means that you’ll connect to your PS3 and the PSN account using this device.

Sony Ericsson Paras Design, Created by mkDesign

This device reminds us a bit of the SE Aino, but the specs are decent enough to make the device appealing. Paras is based on the A200 platform and supports touch input via the 240 x 432 pixel display.

It also comes with a Walkman Player, one-press menu interaction, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, 3G+ connectivity and an 8 megapixel camera with flash. 720p capture is also supported on this Sony Ericsson concept, that includes a 3.5mm audio jack and stereo speakers among the features, too.

New PSP Phone Design Shown On Video

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.Well “video” is a strong word for a single pic with a song in the background, but we’ll give this design credit for its looks, not the presentation method. Created by Casper-Zeta, the following PSP Phone concept combines the looks of XPERIA X10 with the form factor of PSP Go.

The result is a gaming smartphone with sliding controls, a directional pad, a large touchscren (4 inch maybe?), Google Chrome support, Android on board (2.2/3.0) and all the goodies usually associated with XPERIA devices. Shoulder buttons are also included, as you can see. What do you think? Have PSP Phone designs changed much over the past year?

Phone on Board Minimalistic Fixed Phone Design Brings Us Back to the Pen Era

Note: There is a rating embedded within this post, please visit this post to rate it.In spite of the fact that we live in the touchscreen age, when we chat on the fixed phone we tend to jot down notes on pieces of paper… and boy are they hard to find when you need them! The “Phone on Board” concept solves this issue, by including a whiteboard in the mix, used both as a phone dock and a place to write down what you need to remember.

The concept was created by Shin Go Eun and Giha Woo, it’s a minimalistic design that looks very neat and user-friendly. We suppose that the whiteboard can be erased after you’re done with the info it has written on it, so now we can say goodbye to post-it notes spread all across the house.
