We are pleased to announce the launch of RecentX version 3.0.

This new version of RecentX hasÂ been improvedÂ from many dimensions. Nice new features, better performance & stability, improved usability and attractive looks.

Note:
Just download the new version and install it over the existing one. Existing data will be migrated automatically. If you don’t wish to keep the new version, you may revert back to the older version easily.

Troubleshooting sending of sticky notes over network

Sending sticky notes over network using Notezilla or Quick Notes Plus is very easy.

But your firewall settings and other network configuration can make it appear as a very difficult task.

You may not be able to send and receive sticky notes. Or you may be able to send but not receive sticky notes.

Here are most common causes of such problems:

Firewall is blocking the program. Make sure that you have configure your firewall program to allow Notezilla/QNP to communicate over network. If you are using Windows Firewall then the following articles might help:

Windows XP: Using Windows Firewall
Windows Vista: Allow a program to communicate through Windows Firewall

Remember: You must configure the firewalls on all computers that need to send and receive sticky notes.
If you are using Notezilla, you must make sure that the ‘Accept Notes Over Network’ option is enabled on all the computers. To access this option, right click on Notezilla’s icon in the Windows taskbar and choose ‘Notezilla Browser’ from the menu. In Notezilla Browser, click on the Advanced menu and enable ‘Accept Notes Over Network’.
Your computer may be running more than one firewall programs. If you are using a third-party firewall program, you must make sure that the default Windows Firewall is disabled. You must have only one firewall program running. If you wish to run multiple firewall programs then you must make sure that you have allowed Notezilla/QNP in all firewalls

Exiting Notezilla/QNP via Command Line

Notezilla & Quick Notes Plus Sticky Notes Programs let you to exit the program using a command line switch. This is required when taking backup of the data files during a batch process or when running Notezilla Portable from a USB flash pen drive (to avoid data loss) etc.

Here it is:

Notezilla.exe /ShutDown

QNPlus.exe /ShutDown
