I wanted to briefly interrupt my blogging retirement to discuss #FreeStacy, Twitter, and censorship.

Imagine that you go to a restaurant, and the following happens…

• The chef intentionally under-cooks your food
• The waiter intentionally doesn’t turn in your order
• The server announces to all the other patrons that you are a racist
• The pastry chef posts your address, pictures of your children, and your employers home address on the front door of the establishment
• The dishwasher creates a fake social media account in your name and posts racist content to it
• The busboy calls the police and states that you harassed him, even though you’ve never seen him before
• The owner kicks you our before you get your meal for “abuse,” even though you’ve done nothing but speak about the news of the day.

Now, imagine that you not only pay your bill at this restaurant, but you also return every day for the next round!

Well, if you have a Twitter account, and are a Conservative and/or Christian, you might be experiencing this on an increasing basis. And for some inexplicable reason, you continue to go back.

When I was on Twitter, I followed Stacy McCain.   At no point in time did he target or harass others. However, while Stacy had the absolute nerve to call out people for lying, or stalking others. Or, he was a regular critic of feminism, quoting feminists and giving his take on their ideas. At the same time, SJW’s on Twitter were posting people’s addresses, encouraging others to harass them, and even posting pictures their target’s children. We’ve seen the use of scripts to encourage bans, attempts to target sexual abuse victims and their families, the filing of false claims of harassment, and swamping accounts with fake followers. None of the aforementioned SJW’s were banned for their actions, however, Stacy McCain was.

Now, rather than “boo-hoo” and state that it’s “so unfair,” I’ll say we should expect this. Given the SJW’s totalitarian impulse, and their attraction to evil, we should not be surprised when evil people do evil things. The fact is simple; liars lie, cheaters cheat, stalkers stalk, and then laugh at the misfortune of their victims. They are the “crybullies,” who stalk, harass, and otherwise try to destroy the lives of others. However, when they are confronted with their own words and actions, they quickly claim to be the victim and call down the powers that be upon their target. It is a fairly predictable and easily observed pattern. And, when the playing field is Twitter, should we be surprised when this happens? Of course not, all the parties are acting within their own nature.

The real question is; why do Conservative play their game-on their playground?

The recent changes at Twitter have made a bad situation even worse. It was bad when I was on the platform, and even worse since. Since the formation of their “Ministry of Truth,” Conservatives have been banned, had their blue checkmarks removed, and “shadowbanned.” Their sin? Not being SJWs. Or, even worse, telling the truth about SJW’s.

So then, what is the freedom loving, truth telling segment of the population to do?

Before I answer that, let’s take a look at Twitter’s business model. Twitter sells targeted ads that appear in user’s feed…

Twitter (TWTR) earns 85% or more of its revenue from advertising. In the second quarter of 2014, Twitter posted an advertising base of $277 million, which was more than double the amount of revenue the social media site brought in during the same time in 2013. Twitter uses promoted tweets, promoted accounts and promoted trends. Twitter sells promoted tweets to marketers, and these then appear in users’ Twitter feeds. The company creates tailored advertising opportunities by using an algorithm to make sure promoted tweets make it into the right users’ timelines. 

Twitter makes additional money through data licensing. From the first six months of 2012 to the first six months of 2013, Twitter’s data licensing revenue increased by 53% to $32.2 million. Twitter has named four companies “official data resellers,” and these companies have direct access to all tweets. Each company has developed algorithms for data mining that measure consumer response to everything from brands to movies.

Twitter also made a profit in the last quarter, albeit a small one…

Twitter executives and investors would probably like to forget 2015 on the whole, but things aren’t looking much better for the social media company heading into the new year.

Gone are the heady days of 2013, when the San Francisco-based company was signing up new users at a brisk pace and was, literally, the talk of the town. Twitter’s share price soared following its initial public offering to more than US$60 on the New York Stock Exchange on expectations that it would become the next Facebook – an online advertising juggernaut with upwards of a billion users.

Two years later, the company has instead stalled at about 300 million users, with anaemic growth punctuating 2015. Twitter added only four million users in its most recent quarter, which helps explain its share price spiral to about $22 to close out the year, well below its IPO debut of $44.90.

The company fired the chief executive, Dick Costolo, in June and replaced him with Jack Dorsey, its founding chief executive who had himself been axed from the job in 2008. Upon his return, in October, Mr Dorsey had the pleasure of overseeing more than 300 layoffs.

Yet Twitter hasn’t been in free fall. The company finally became profitable last year, posting net income of $7 million in its most recent quarter. Revenue garnered from advertisers has also been climbing steadily, to $569m in the third quarter, up 58 per cent compared with a year earlier.

But, it’s growth has stagnated.

When you look at the business model, Twitter’s primary income comes from ads. Looking at this a bit realistically, you see that being able to publish 140 characters for the privilege of being stalked by SJW’s (and later being banned for it) is not actually Twitter’s product. The users themselves are the product! Twitter sells access to its 300 million users to advertisers, who get to present their ads. Also, they allow data mining for all users and Tweets.  Your abuse is just a bonus-you are the product!

In other words, if you are “Tweeting while Conservative,” not only are you being potentially abused in an environment that clearly does not like or want your company, you are actually feeding it.

Twitter is a private company. As such, they can do as they please. However, this also means that no one is obligated to use Twitter. And, in fact, why would you want to contribute to a business that seeks to harm you?   Twitter is making it clear that truth is not wanted there. They don’t want to hear us. They don’t want us there. They already allow regressive users to target and stalk Conservatives, so why go there at all?

My suggestion is clear. Conservatives are not welcome on Twitter. If Twitter wants to be the SJW hugbox of hate, leave them to it. Stacy McCain cannot go back. Adam Baldwin has already left. Milo has been unverified for being too fabulous. Many others have been banned or are leaving. If you want to call their advertisers and state your dissatisfaction, go for it. But leaving Twitter, and then abandoning to the cold hands of the free market is the best move. If they fail, they fail. If they manage to continue, they can be the regressive zoo of the internet. Just like Stacy McCain critiques Tumblr Feminazis, the regressives of Twitter could be a display of child-like, censorious, totalitarian evil, much like a forensic psychiatric ward of the internet.

Or, consider the old Klingon proverb; “Only a fool fights in a burning house.”

By the way, I don’t have a Twitter account. So the only way this gets on Twitter is for someone else to put it there. And, I’m not keeping the comments open on this, as I don’t have time to moderate. I’ll be getting back to my retirement, and studies, so God bless, and stay away from Twitter.

Sorry to self intrude on my own blogging retirement, but someone has decided to resurrect my Twitter account “MrEvilMatt.”   I had closed it, along with my Facebook account, when I started studying for ministry.   My impostor took the time to copy the profile almost exactly, right down to he “hypnotoad” icon.  They are re-tweeting some racist content.  While that cannot hurt me in any way, since to be hurt by social media, you might actually have to be on social media, I thought I might as well set the record straight, so no one is fooled.

Whether they are Social Justice Warriors, deranged lunatics, or statutory rape apologists (but I repeat myself), it really doesn’t matter.  Either Twitter will remove it, or they won’t.  Just understand that it isn’t me.

Many of you might have noticed that I often put quotations around the word, “progressive.”  Over the last couple of years, I’ve probably wasted a thousand keystrokes doing that, so I might as well explain why.

For the vast majority of human history, mankind has lived in a state of tyranny.  This probably started not long after cave man Ugh realized that his neighbor, Argh was weaker than him, and carried a smaller club.  After Argh’s untimely demise (with the exception of some tribal societies), the course of mankind was set.

As mankind developed from hunter gatherers to simple agrarian societies, to city states, and then empires, a variety of chieftains, kings, dictators, warlords, priests, priestesses, and self declared “gods,” have ruled mankind.  During those  countless ages, the average person lived, or died, at the whim of his or her self-appointed leader.  Economies were controlled, taxes were high, incomes were close to nil, and the average person often died as penniless as they were at birth.  Economies centered on the wealth of the leaders, not on the people, so  pestilence and starvation killed many when it did not need to happen.  There was little to no income distribution.  There was the top class; the leaders and their enforcers, and there were the peasants.  There was not even a hint of equality or justice, just oppressive rule.  (I know that Rome was, for a time, a republic, and some Greeks practiced democracy, but even then, they were a drop in the bucket when compared to the total history of man)

These tyrannical leaders did not tolerate dissent, or even the chance of dissent.  people were tortured, maimed, and executed to insure the power of the ruler(s).  People were killed for treason, heresy, or for simply knowing someone who might have done something.  There was no, “taking to the streets.”  Such events would have been met with lethal force.  Not only that, the entire town in which such a thing occurred might be razed in retaliation.

The leaders during those dark times were said to be wiser, stronger, more suited to rule, and it had been ordained by God that they should have power.  And all the while, excesses and corruption were the order of the day.

However, as the centuries passed, progress-REAL progress, was made.  The Magna Carta established that people have some rights, though it is not as codified as are the rights in our Constitution.   Also, John Locke, among others, formulated the ideas of natural rights and the social contract.

Our Founding Fathers were the next in line for real progress.  They created, in the Unites States Constitution, the greatest charter for human freedom ever devised. They embraced the idea of Natural Rights, in the human freedoms are from God, and that government exists to protect those rights-and cannot take them away.  Humans were protected in their right to free speech, their freedom of religion, their right to defend themselves, their right to property and all the others that we tend to take for granted today.  In our Republic, man rules himself, and government exists only to do those functions that man cannot do for himself, such as national defense, enforcing contracts, establishing courts, coining money, and so forth.  Or at least, that’s is how it’s supposed to be.

However, the forces of tyranny did not rest or concede when true human freedom started to emerge.  The next stages of tyranny were  Communism, followed by the original “progressive movement,” and then Fascism.  All of these are related in terms of the fact that they center power in an elite, that then control all aspects of human behavior.  Their only differences are in process and scope.

The results were horrific.  Over a hundred million people were killed in the name of Communism.  Fascism might have  equaled  that, had they not been stopped by WW II.  The “progressives,” operating in Western Democracies, had to move slowly.  Incrementalism has been their primary operating procedure.  However, they inspired the Nazi’s with their love for eugenics, and were “fellow travelers” with the other two movements.

Over the decades, “progressives,” operating under a variety of labels , have moved through our institutions.  They have used a variety of justifications to give the Federal government more power.  They have taken control of education.  They are in control of the MSM.  They have crafted  regulations  that destroy business and industry.  They created social programs that have encouraged dependency, and then have created economic crisis to fill those programs to unprecedented levels.  They have legalized sexual assault in the name of “security.”  They have also used the created and false crisis of global cooling, global warming, climate change in order to justify the reduction of our lifestyles.  All of this, of course, will be monitored and controlled by the authorities.

Their desire for control extends to all aspects of human life.  Government wants to tell us what kind of food can we eat- even if we can grow our own.  We are told how much water our toilets can use.  The kinds of car we can own-and eventually, even if we can own one is to be determined by unelected  bureaucrats.    What kind of house we can build, the healthcare we can recieve, and a host of others, are all in the crosshairs of the “progressives.”  They even seek to control mass media and the internet to control the free flow of information.  In the end, are we free if the government dictates so many of our basic human functions?

We also see how the “progressives” treat those that disagree with them. Conservative and Libertarian students are threatened and punished on   campuses, where free speech is curtailed, and labeled as “hate.”  Union members and other “progressives” engage in violence and intimidation to silence those that dissent.  The Constitution itself has been declared “outdated,” or “irrelevant.”  The Founders themselves are attacked and discounted.  After all, if we are to be controlled by an all powerful government, the very ideas of freedom have to be attacked, silenced and discredited.

As you can see, “progressives” are not progressive. They are REgressive.  They seek to return us to a state in which we are controlled and dominated by a small elite.  And just as the monarchs of old, they seek the “divine right of kings,” in order to gain and maintain control over us.  Of course, they tell us that it’s for our own good, but they proceed from the faulty premise that they know better than us, and that we cannot self govern.

We were born into a state of freedom.  In terms of human history, this is a rare and precious gift.  Only the tiniest fraction of all humans that have ever lived have enjoyed these freedoms.  If we allow the Regressives to take them away, it might be centuries before they re-emerge, and hundreds of millions will die in the process.

Are we going those freedoms, and the future of mankind, over to a small elite that “knows what’s best?”

I say this because to achieve their planned “utopia,” the left must indoctrinate everyone.  Socialism, Fascism, and “Progressivism,” while all somewhat different in scope and application, are closely related in that they are totalitarian in nature.  The State takes on the role as final arbiter of all human activities.  To maintain such a level of control, the population must be fed a constant stream of propaganda.  Schools must become the engines of indoctrination.  Crises must be created and sustained.  Scapegoats must be identified and punished.  The state’s miscues must be covered-up, and it’s accomplishments embellished (or even fabricated).

This propaganda must start at the earliest possible age, hence the government’s interest in universal preschool.    In that setting, songs, stories, games, rewards, and chastisement are all parts of the indoctrination process.  I remember hearing stories about Castro’s Cuba that goes along those lines.  For example, school children are instructed to close their eyes and pray to Jesus for candy.  Of course, there is no candy when the children open their eyes.  Then, the children are instructed to close their eyes and pray to Castro for candy.  While the children were “praying,” they teachers went through the room and put a piece of candy on each desk.  The message is obvious; there is no God other than the state, or “Dear Leader.”

These efforts continue throughout a child’s “educational” experience.  As children grow older, student clubs and after school programs are pushed, or even mandated.  Special observances and “days” are required.  Participation is either required, or dissents are punished and branded as being filled with “hate.”  Peer pressure, grades, and rewards are used to increase compliance and punish dissent.  At every step of the process, government or party sponsored ideas are pushed.  Children are required to regurgitate them, or even act in ways that “prove” their allegiance to the party or State.  Even at Universities, students end up being required to espouse the approved ideology of the state in order to advance or graduate, usually so they can become indoctrinators themselves.

All through the citizen’s life, the propaganda is tailored to obtain the maximum effect.  Motion pictures, television, radio, and print are all run by the state or by those that are ideologically allied with it.  Dissidents or outside entities are always “conspiring” to harm, or even kill the people.  “Evil” entities are trying to poison the water, sabotage the food supply, keep people poor, starve children, kill elderly, make them or keep them sick, and so on.  (Ironically, this is often what the State is doing to the people, but blaming an ideological enemy is very convenient as a cover-up.)   On the other hand, the State, or the leader, is held up as the heroic champion of the people, protecting them from the “evils” of the world.

And what of the purveyors of that freedom?  They are punished, or in some cases killed outright.  In this country, they are identified, labeled, and subjected to Alinsky style attacks on their families, jobs, reputations, and so on.  In the “progressive” utopia, “tolerance and diversity” only apply to the “progressives.”  All other ideas are classified as “hate.”

In the end, cut off from the rest of the world, or from any other sources of information, the people end up swallowing the state sponsored version of reality, and most become compliant “sheeple.”   Those that have a notion that something is wrong stay silent, as the punishments for dissent (or even questioning the state) are often not worth the risk.  Also, with the state controlling the flow of information, people that suspect that all is not well are isolated, never knowing facts that prove their mistrust, or even that there are others that believe as they do.  In total isolation, these people do not represent a significant threat to the state, and can easily be dealt with on a singular basis if they speak out.

If you are seeing some parallels to 21^st century America, you are not alone.  Some of the efforts are slightly different, but the effect is the same.  From cradle to grave, we the people are being bombarded daily by the MSM with messages that run counter to not only the philosophy of the founders, but reality itself.  Kindly remember the words of John Dewey:

“Children who know how to think for themselves spoil the harmony of the collective society which is coming, where everyone is interdependent.”

If one wants complete power and control- not just politically, but over the very minds of the people, dissent simply cannot be allowed in any form.  Other ideas pollute the body politic and cause the system collapse under the weight of its own failure and deceit.  Once the Soviet Union finally started to allow their people to speak freely (to an extent) it collapsed within a few years.  Most of their satellite nations fell first.  Totalitarianism, no matter its “brand,” requires extensive force and control to work.  If people have open access to information, and the ability to speak out and share that information, the lies, corruption, and failures of the state become apparent.  To a great degree, totalitarianism, whether branded as communism, fascism, socialism, or “progressivism,” is a fairy tale based on a lie, and the citizens are forced to play a role.  Once exposed to reality, however, the fairy tale becomes just that, and enough people quit playing along to cause the system to fail.

That, my friends, is the fatal flaw of any totalitarian system, including “progressivism.”  Free information, free speech, the ability to broadcast and share that information all combine to make the totalitarian state fall like the house of cards that it is.  This is also why the “progressives”  have not been completely successful in subverting the Constitution.  They can indoctrinate in the schools all they want, and they can distort and selectively cover the news to their heart’s desire, but as long as people have access to information and can freely discuss their views, the indoctrination fails.  When people can see reality, and join together to discuss and act upon it, reality wins every time.

While we have been able to slow the progressives, they are still creeping ahead incrementally.  Each succeeding generation of children is more and more left leaning.  Conservatism is being watered down, and knowledge of the founding principles of this country is being lost.  More and more people haven’t the ability to recognize reality, even when they are personally affected by the negative consequences of “progressive” policies.  (That would seem to be the intent.)  We are seeing parents, who were indoctrinated, not knowing, or caring, that their children are being indoctrinated.  Sadly, we will eventually reach a tipping point at which there will be a critical mass of indoctrinated people that will finally give away our freedoms.  It may not happen soon, it might be decades from now, but we owe it to future generations to simply not be content to slow “progressivism,” but to stop it and reverse the damage done to our Republic.

So where do we go from here?  In my last post, I discussed some general recommendations on using cognitive dissonance.  For this post, I wanted to expand on some of the original ideas, and address the kids.  They are simply the most vulnerable, and are more easily indoctrinated.  That, and the indoctrination machine already has them.  So, here we go…

1. There are some Conservative Children’s books out there.  These are easily found on line; here and here, for example.
2. There are also Conservative Coloring books out there.  Google will help you find them.
3. If there are any Conservative artists out there, if you would consider drawing some coloring sheets that could be released for free, that would be great. (Since my artistic ability ends at stick figures, I am of little help on this one).
4. We also need some children’s books and coloring sheets about the AGW fraud. (For example, the left shows kids pictures of polar bears on a small piece of ice.  The ideas is that the bears will die. What if we were to tell them that the bears can swim for 100 miles?)
5. If there are some folks out there with some professional video skills, some videos for the kids might be good.
6. Board games might be made to reflect Conservative, free market ideas.
7. As we locate more and more of these resources, share them.  If you are a Conservative parent, you are likely already teaching your children these things.  While that is great, we need to expand the audience.  So we need to get this out to other children, as many as possible.

Remember, the left has to indoctrinate everyone for “progressivism” to work.  We are not limited in that way.  Our beliefs are based on reality, so what people see and hear will prove us right.  The truth allows one to tolerate dissent – covering up for a lie does not.   If we make a greater effort to expose kids to the real world, many will be saved from indoctrination.  Others will not, but most the one’s that don’t wake up are likely to be less effective, as they will be conflicted and a bit more confused, as what they see will not match what they’ve been taught.   Still others will never see the truth, no matter the consequences or reality.  Let them go, there’s little that anyone can do for them.  Just don’t let them have power of any kind.

I think if we can do this, we can make billions in education (indoctrination) funding irrelevant.  Even those that do not recognize reality will be confused and disheartened, making them less effective “drones” in the progressive utopia.

Please add your suggestions.  I am basically calling for a “Counter-Revolution” in terms of the indoctrination of our children.  We have to do better at counteracting it.  Not just for our own kids, but the children of our friends, neighbors, and relatives as well.   There are Conservative kids out there fighting the good fight. They fighting against overwhelming opposition, so anything that can help them would be a benefit.  So, if you know of other resources, or you are able to help in some way, leave a comment.  I will be making a resource page for this effort, so anything that you think is helpful would be most welcome.

My post last year about kids defying the ACLU brought me back to a point I have been making for several years.  Socialism collapses in the presence of doubt.  In the examples of the fallen Soviet Bloc dictatorships, we see that once the people no longer “believed in” the state, and that their doubt overcame the fear of the state, the state collapsed.  When rhetoric and propaganda of the state and party were so completely disconnected from what the people could observe, they lost faith in the system.  This is instructive because it shows us the path towards defeating the POTUS and his socialist policies.

By my estimation, socialist states rely on three methods to control their populations.  The first is indoctrination.  In the US, they took over the public schools some time ago.  At each stage, children are exposed to, tested on, and pressured to exhibit, liberal ideology.  As many examples have shown, via lawsuits, students have been ridiculed, threatened with failing grades, and otherwise degraded if they deviate from the liberal mantra. Eventually, the children themselves are turned into a self-monitoring mob that reports, belittles, or attacks dissenters.   Using the peer pressure that makes children so susceptible, the left is very effective in “brainwashing” our youth.   These minions then go to the university, where they are further inculcated into socialism, and are then sent out to convert more minions.  If you wish to explore this further, look into how public school teachers and social workers are educated.  I believe that the idea here is to create an environment of “no resort.”  Either the child/student accepts and regurgitates the liberal mantra at every turn, or punishment will be swift and sure.  Those that have different ideas, or can see through the liberal point of view, are effectively silenced and rendered ineffective.

Additionally, the liberals have sought to expand their educational efforts to children at increasingly younger ages.  Their goal seems to be the indoctrination of children. To illustrate, let’s look at some quotes by prominent educators and others…

John Dewey, called “the father of modern education,” was an avowed socialist, the co-author of the ‘Humanist Manifesto’ and cited as belonging to fifteen Marxist-front organizations by the Committee on Un-American Activities. Do the words (the father of modern education) now take on new meaning? Remember, Dewey taught the professors who would train America’s teachers. He was obsessed with “the group.” In his own words, “You can’t make socialists out of individualists. Children who know how to think for themselves spoil the harmony of the collective society which is coming, where everyone is interdependent.”

The effort here is to control, from the earliest possible age, the beliefs and thoughts of the child.  Education is a secondary concern, if it is even a concern at all.  Knowledge and facts are secondary to that of the intended ideology.  If knowledge is indeed the currency of freedom, socialists must therefore carefully control what is taught, and competing opinions should be banished, and their proponents marginalized and punished.  Therefore, in any socialist or fascist state, education was among the first institutions to receive a complete conversion.  Curriculum was changed to reflect the new order, home schooling was banned, and private schools were either co-opted, or closed.  This is meant to achieve a “monopoly of ideology,” nothing more, nothing less.  Control the child and carefully monitor what they see and hear, and the end result (the “progressives” hope) is a complaint and brainwashed minion who will not question the state, as they will know nothing more than what they learned from the state.

To prevent their newly minted minions from hearing anything contrary to state approved messages, the elimination of dissent becomes necessary.  This is the second method to control populations.  Outlets and individuals that discuss “competing ideologies” are to be silenced.  In socialist and fascist states, strong-arm tactics usually accomplished this.  In the current age, regulation, ridicule, and punishment are used.  A bit softer to be sure, but the results are much the same.  One needs to look no further than Hugo Chavez to see this in operation in the 21^st century, or, for that matter, the actions of the left in this country.

The fairness doctrine, the effort to implement it and call it something else is a case in point.  As covered here, a board was appointed and given the task of making recommendation for broadcast regulations.  The board is stacked with leftist organizations.  Administration officials have been quoted as stating that the goal is…

It also was reported when a think tank headed by John Podesta, co-chairman of Obama’s transition team, mapped out a strategy in 2007 for clamping down on conservative talk radio by requiring stations to be operated by female and minority owners, which the report showed were statistically more likely to carry liberal political talk shows.

That report found the best strategy for getting equal time for “progressives” on radio lies in mandating “diversity of ownership” without ever needing to mention the former FCC policy of requiring airtime for liberal viewpoints, known as the “Fairness Doctrine,” a plan thrown out in the 1980s.

Knowing that the ‘Fairness Doctrine” is a loaded term, the liberals resort to “slight of hand” by calling it something else.  The desired result, however, is the same.

Going along with banning dissent is the control of the media.   The most convenient way to manage the people is to control the flow of information available to the public.  In totalitarian states, movies, music, print, radio, television, and even the Internet (with varying levels of success) are tightly controlled.  Everything that is read, heard, and seen is carefully presented to not only convey what the government wants the public to believe, but to also ridicule the opposition, and discredit any other ideas.  Information that might “confuse” or “discourage” (ie, the truth) the public is not permitted.

In the more openly totalitarian states, this is accomplished by direct ownership and control.  In the US, it has been achieved ideologically, by the same educational indoctrination scheme I described earlier.  As so many of us have observed, the MSM often ignores gaffes, crimes, inconsistent statements, lies, and failures of the left.  If the story is reported, it will often be minimized or misrepresented.   Many times, a person exposing a story or whistle blowing will be attacked, causing their character or motivations to be called into question.  Other times, individuals on the right will be openly ridiculed.  The entertainment industry is also involved, with TV shows, movies, and music echoing “progressive” political and cultural messages, all with the intent of providing the citizen with their regularly scheduled does of indoctrination.  The idea, of course, is to promote the agenda, as well as to marginalize dissenters, and at the same time, their messages.

A significant effect of banning dissent is to cause the individual to become discouraged, and eventually “give up,” reluctantly joining the “new order.”  The validation that one receives from knowing that they are not alone in their beliefs cannot be underestimated.  A group with shared beliefs is more powerful than an isolated individual.  Fear not friends, I am not talking about collectivism here.  This is simple psychology.   Besides the obvious benefits of “strength in numbers,” groups validate and empower their individual members.  If one knows that others will stand with him, he is more likely to make a stand.

This is, in my opinion, one of the primary reasons for the left’s attempts to silence the right.  If they can stop people from receiving the validation of the larger group, the right can be reduced into smaller groups that are easily ostracized, or into isolated individuals that will be no “threat” to the “progressive” state.  They want you to give up and become silent.   They know that if they can indoctrinate the next generation in the absence of dissenting opinions that have more worth, they will win.  They therefore want us to be silent and discouraged.

The third technique consists of the simple thug tactics used by the left.  As I, and others, have discussed, the left uses intimidation to silence dissent, attack other ideologies, and to punish those that speak out.   People are threatened, their employers are threatened (unless they terminate the target), and “protesters” show up at the schools of the children of those that have “sinned” against the left.  As Alinski put it, the plan is to identify, isolate, freeze and escalate activities towards the target.  Frivolous lawsuits will be filed; false allegations made, private documents will be made public, all in an attempt to punish the target. This is harassment and intimidation, as well as an attempt to ruin the lives and reputations of the targeted individuals.

This intimidation is also meant to send a message to anyone else that might speak out or otherwise resist.  “Unless you want this to happen to you and your family, you best keep your mouth shut!”

So, where does Cognitive Dissonance come into this?  It goes back to my first paragraph.  Many of the people in the middle – those that perhaps pay little attention to the news or current political situation – are about to experience more of the “progressivism” from the POTUS.  They will see more lies and deceit.  They will see more and more if their fellow citizens ridiculed.  If either Cap and Trade or the ObamaCare passes, the economy will be devastated.  Individuals that voted for the POTUS without examining his actual motivations, or people on the left that still have the ability to think (there are some), will experience a great deal of Cognitive Dissonance.  Also, kids and college students that have been spoon-fed the liberal mantra will experience discomfort when the plans that they have supported cascade the economy into failure.  This is the time that we, as Conservatives or Libertarians, will need to capitalize on this “theory colliding headlong into reality.”

How do we do this?

• Continue blogging, and share your blog with others.
• Contact friends and family that may have voted for the POTUS.  Show them the evidence.
• Collect evidence by download to show others.  I recently showed a liberal co-worker the video montage made by Verum Serum on ObamaCare.  I thought the person’s jaw would hit the floor.  Then, I showed her Margaret Sanger and Ruth Bader Ginsberg quotes.  She became upset.  If this continues, she will eventually question her beliefs.  All it takes is enough evidence.
• Download and store videos and articles that make our points.  If the POTUS ever does manage to control Internet content, a lot of the evidence against him will disappear.  Unless, that is, we save it!

This is starting to work.  Majorities now stand against ObamaCare.  The amount of people that think the Porkulus is helping is within the margin of error in the poll!  The discussion of ClimateGate is causing more and more people to question the AGW fraud.

It’s working because to promote their agenda, the “progressives” must lie at every turn.  They must create crises.  They have to fudge numbers, bribe officials, and contradict themselves on a regular basis.  To defeat the agenda, we simply must point out observable facts.  They may have the House, Senate, the White House, film, TV, music, the newspapers, the broadcast news, and millions of useful idiots; but we have the truth.  That, my friends, is the nuclear weapon in our arsenal.

I wrote this because I became a Conservative in this fashion.  I came out of grad school with a brain full of liberal ideology.  When I started working, I noticed that much of what I was taught simply didn’t match reality.  As time wore on, I became discouraged.  When some friends started introducing me to Conservatism, I initially resisted.  After all, Conservatives are all fascists, right?  I started to read, and listened to talk radio.  As time wore on, I educated myself.  No coercion, threats, intimidation, or indoctrination were required.  I simply saw that Conservatism matches reality.  If we can help others when Cognitive Dissonance hits, and it WILL, we can help defeat the left.  I find it ironic, and encouraging, that the billions that the left spends on public and college education can be undone by simple truths.

There are many people on the left that will never see reality.  While that is unfortunate, there is nothing that will convince them.  Either that, or they are “higher – ups” in the left that know that the policies are meant to cause a crisis.  I humbly suggest that they be left alone.  Their shrill and increasingly irrational reactions to the truth will serve our purpose well.

The political and religious “identity” of Barak Obama is a contentious and much debated topic these days.  Claims of, “He’s a Muslim,” and “ he’s a socialist,” abound.   The left, as well as the MSM are able to field these claims, and contradict them, at least partially.  They are able to do this because he’s neither of these things.

Religion: While Obama may have a soft spot for Islam, he sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for over 20 years.  While Wright’s teachings are radical, they are clearly not Islamic.  Like the rest of us, the radical wing of Islam would cut his head off, unless he converted.

It is well documented that he attended an Islamic school while he lived in Indonesia.  That, in and of itself, does not mean that he is a Muslim, but unlike other Presidents, he has a depth of knowledge into Islam that unparalleled.  That might bias him, and blind him to the potential dangers that we face.  Either way, he does not appear to be Muslim, or, for that matter, Christian (or at least any Christianity with which we would be familiar).

Politics: You can call Obama a socialist.  It seems to fit his model of wealth redistribution rather nicely.  You might also call him a fascist, as his tampering in the banking, auto, and health care industries closely matches the actions of Mussolini and Hitler, for example, “Corporatism.”  You can also call him a “progressive,” as they believed that the state, run by an “intellectual” elite, can/should wield power to shape society into something more equitable and structured.  The common threads between all three are statism and elitism.  The idea that the state has primacy over all human activity seems a common thread though all of Obama’s policies.   And, of course, the idea of elitism; that a small group of “really smart people that know way better than you,” have the right and obligation to instruct everyone on how to live is central to any totalitarian view.

Some will say that the political theories and backgrounds conflict.  They do… and they don’t.  While that might come off as a contradictory statement, there is a case for stating it.  To draw the comparisons and contrasts, a brief look at history is required.

During the mid to late 19^th century, new political ideologies were emerging.  Communism and socialism were taking root in Europe, and to a lesser degree, her in the US as well.  Also, the progressive movement was emerging in the US.  The leading minds of these movements were aware of each other, and followed each other’s writings and actions closely.  It is safe to assume that they influenced each other.

When it became apparent that Europe was going to explode into war (WWI), there was much excitement among the socialists/communists.  They had been predicting that if war came, the proletariat would rise, and there would be a vast, international communist revolution.  They thought that under the stress, death, and deprivation that would come with a war, that the people would grow weary with their governments and economic systems, and “throw off their oppressors.”

It didn’t happen.  With the exception of Russia, there were no successful communist revolutions.  Communists certainly did make a nuisance of themselves, but the established order in the West held.  More surprising was the fact that many socialists were patriotic and supported their nations in the war.

This is a crucial point in history for the socialist movement, as schisms were created by their differing reactions and ideas about the failure of the international revolution.   The hard-core communists decided to use the USSR as a “base” from which to spread communism throughout the world.  A smaller group of communists in Germany decided to examine what caused the failure of the international.  Working from the “Frankfort School,” they tagged Western Culture as the culprit.  Since Western Culture promoted patriotism, individualism, religious faith, capitalism, and self-reliance, they argued, communism couldn’t take root.  Their mission, therefore, was to find ways to negate Western Culture, and allow communism to take over.  We’ll get back to the Cultural Marxists in a bit.

However, it doesn’t end there.  There was yet another wing.  Some socialists, particularly Mussolini, decided that rather than reject national pride and western culture, that they would embrace it and use it to justify their socialism.  The terms, “National Socialism and totalitarianism,” were, if memory serves, coined by Mussolini.  Since the international revolution failed, he postulated that they could be done in single nations instead-hence, National Socialism.  He proved that assumption in his takeover of Italy.  Franco (of Spain) and Hitler followed suit.

The fascists, you see, were socialists.  They used socialist rhetoric and policies.  While they didn’t take over the means of production, they controlled it completely via regulation.  They did redistribute wealth.  They did tax heavily.  They did institute massive levels of government intervention; like heavy regulation of industry, gun control, socialized medicine, and so on.  They simply used the individual cultures and histories of their nations as a “wrapper” for their policies, corrupting the culture to serve their ends.  Even Hitler himself suggested that the Nazis and the Bolsheviks had more in common than what separated them.  He simply saw them as a competing ideology, NOT an antithetical one.  From the opposite perspective, Lenin was said to lament the “loss” of Mussolini, as early in his career, Mussolini was a powerful and well thought of advocate of socialism.

At this point, it is also important to note that there was no “pure” versions of either communism or fascism.  In each nation or movement, there were wide variations in doctrine and application.  For example, fascist Italy did not rely on antisemitism to forward it’s goals.  While Mussolini wanted to restore an “Roman Empire,” Hitler espoused the superiority of the “Aryan Race.”  All had variations, just as Leninism was different from Stalinism.

Meanwhile, the progressives continued to grow in strength in the US as well.  While they never seemed to gain a doctrinal type of theory or organization, they did press foreword with all sorts of governmental controls, such as eugenics (forced sterilization), increased government control over banking, labor, industry, and so on.  Many prominent progressives were also were great admirers of both Mussolini and Hitler (until Hitler’s anti-Semitism became too inconvenient to ignore).  In turn, the Nazis took some pages out of the progressive’s playbook in terms of media manipulation and eugenics.

So, we see that the Socialists and fascists are not antithetical, but “brothers.”  They were separated by their differing opinions on how to spread socialism.  Progressivism was a cousin, or at least a fellow traveler of Socialism and fascism.  They all knew about each other, often spoke kindly of each other, and seem to have “cross pollinated” each other’s ideas.

But what happened to the Cultural Marxists?  They were booted from Germany when Hitler came to power, and they migrated to here, eventually settling at Columbia University, where they continued their work.  They proposed a “long march through the institutions” in order to destroy western culture.  They made good on that idea, and now, education, media, law, and even theology have all been “infected” with cultural Marxism.  Here is an excerpt from an article that I quoted in a previous post on Cultural Marxism.

The Frankfurt School again departed from orthodox Marxism, which argued that all of history was determined by who owned the means of production. Instead, they said history was determined by which groups, defined as men, women, races, religions, etc., had power or “dominance” over other groups. Certain groups, especially white males, were labeled “oppressors,” while other groups were defined as “victims.” Victims were automatically good, oppressors bad, just by what group they came from, regardless of individual behavior.

Does that sound familiar?  Or what about this?

Marcuse also widened the Frankfurt School’s intellectual work. In the early 1930s, Horkheimer had left open the question of who would replace the working class as the agent of Marxist revolution. In the 1950s, Marcuse answered the question, saying it would be a coalition of students, blacks, feminist women and homosexuals – the core of the student rebellion of the 1960s, and the sacred “victims groups” of political correctness today. Marcuse further took one of political correctness’s favorite words, “tolerance,” and gave it a new meaning. He defined “liberating tolerance” as tolerance for all ideas and movements coming from the left, and intolerance for all ideas and movements coming from the right. When you hear the cultural Marxists today call for “tolerance,” they mean Marcuse’s “liberating tolerance” (just as when they call for “diversity,” they mean uniformity of belief in their ideology).

The student rebellion of the 1960s, driven largely by opposition to the draft for the Vietnam War, gave Marcuse a historic opportunity. As perhaps its most famous “guru,” he injected the Frankfurt School’s cultural Marxism into the baby boom generation. Of course, they did not understand what it really was. As was true from the Institute’s beginning, Marcuse and the few other people “in the know” did not advertise that political correctness and multi-culturalism were a form of Marxism. But the effect was devastating: a whole generation of Americans, especially the university-educated elite, absorbed cultural Marxism as their own, accepting a poisonous ideology that sought to destroy America’s traditional culture and Christian faith. That generation, which runs every elite institution in America, now wages a ceaseless war on all traditional beliefs and institutions. They have largely won that war. Most of America’s traditional culture lies in ruins.

I would say that this is a correct assessment.

Needless to say, Cultural Marxism has infected all of our institutions.  When Obama said he associated with the “radical professors,” he was being steeped in Cultural Marxism.  The idea that it is somehow “unfair” that the US is so powerful and prosperous is part of that equation.  Think about many of Obama’s policies and actions, and you will see Cultural Marxism.

So, as a “progressive,” Obama stands on an intellectual base that has as its foundation, elements of fascism and Marxism.  Then, it’s finished off with a thick coat of Cultural Marxism.  It is safe to say that he is a fascist, socialist, and a “progressive.”  While none are exclusive, all are part of the foundation of his beliefs; and therefore, his actions.

As quietly as he can, in his traditional “leading from behind” M.O., President Obama seems to be purging the military. The Free Patriot has published the actual list of military brass Obama has fired.

When we brought you the 9 Military Commanders it was apparent that President Obama was purging the military top brass. When two days later two more were fired, many reporters started trying to get to the bottom of what President Obama was doing with what he called “my military”. Now what was a noticeable purge of commanders is now topped 197 since 2009!

While the top listed reason is sex, there seems to be several questionable reasons why these guys are being fired. From dereliction of duty to not saluting properly. The list continues to grow.

Don’t forget that Obama has referenced the United States Military as “my military” on more than one occasion; nor should we forget that he wanted a “civilian defense force.”

The grounds range from “leaving blast doors on nukes open” to “loss of confidence in command ability” to “mishandling of funds” to “inappropriate relationships” to “gambling with counterfeit chips” to “inappropriate behavior” to “low morale in troops commanded” to you-name-it-you-got-it…and, now you’re gonna’ get it!

Grand Total thus far: 197 (Mostly Colonel and above. 127 AF majors included…they all occurred at one time, apparently). This does not include any of the stories about the pressure or attacks, if you will, made on those of all ranks, high and low, done by this regime or their “agents” and based on religious grounds or their stances on traditional marriage or statements or actions that have been deemed offensive to Islam…beliefs held by many who have been persecuted, if not out-right prosecuted, for said religious and/or traditional belief stances.

All the links and sources are verifiable. This is scary folks, what is going on?

Have you noticed, when talking to people on any issue at all, how difficult it is to get a definitive answer as to where they stand? That little word BUT keeps getting in the way. Brian Wilson, writing for LewRockwell.Com,  has some insights into what people really mean when they use that word, BUT.  It’s a very humorous article and it’s not very long. so skip on over and give it a quick read then come back and we’ll talk about a more serious aspect of this phenomena.

Okay. Was it worth a few chuckles? I certainly enjoyed it. There is one sentence in Brian’s article that caught my eye and gave me pause to think. Let’s look at it together:

It’s amazing how scared people are of Freedom but quite comfy with soft tyranny and incremental socialism.

Now that is a pretty sad commentary, isn’t it? People are scared of freedom yet they are comfortable with a little tyranny mixed with socialism. Those words “soft tyranny and incremental socialism” have haunted me for several days now. They seem to explain so much about the character of the American people today. It is not the same character that was responsible for creating this great nation; not even close. What has happened to what we once proudly refered to as the American Spirit?

In an excellent article by John Carey of  the Sentry Journal blog, he asks the question: “Do we even know what liberty is anymore?” When I read those haunting words of Brian Wilson, I immediately thought about John’s article. This is an article well worth reading. Referring to the attitude of Americans today, I left a comment for John saying that if Americans in the time when the United States was all East of the Mississippi had the same attitude of Americans today,  the West would never have been developed.

Never has there been a time when people were more free than when the American West was developed.  Imagine that great expanse of unknown land where there was no city, state or, federal governments to tell people what they could or could not do. There was no social safety net. People were truly free to succeed or fail on their own merits. To me, these Americans personified what I refer to as the American Spirit.

Over time, of course, city, state and, federal governments came to the West.  And, with the governments came the ubiquitous restraints on individual freedoms. But the American spirit prevailed in spite of government’s interference.  In my opinion, this    ” can do” spirit of fierce independence continued to dominate the American character at least until the 70?s.

In the 70?s, the Great Society and War on Poverty programs began to take hold. This is when I believe things began to take a serious turn for the worse. Instead of taking responsibility for one’s own life, more and more people began to look to government to solve their problems. And how have these programs worked out? Do we have a bigger or lesser percentage of people earing their way and contributing taxes to support government? Do we have more or less people on welfare? Do we have more or less un-wed mothers?

For forty years now, this bureaucratic monster we call government has been growing faster and faster and demanding more and more to feed it. We are not producing enough to feed it. We have borrowed more and more to keep the monster satiated. We are facing the day of reckoning when we will not be able to find enough lenders to keep the monster fed.

There is a terrible dark cloud hanging over America and I am wondering if there is sufficient  American Spirit left to meet the challenge that faces us. I believe that those that still have the American Spirit burning in their souls are now a minority. So, my question to you, dear readers, is how do we rekindle this spirit in those that have lost or may never have had it? Without this spirit, America will no longer be America.

That’s what I’m thinking. What are your thoughts?

Original Post: Conservatives on Fire

I’m certain that I’m not the only person that has noticed that the liberals tend to act like petulant children when they “don’t get their way.”  One has to look no further than the recent happenings in the Wisconsin State Legislature to see how far we have fallen.

So what’s going on?  Why has does the left descend into tantrums when reality intervenes and ruins their plans?   Why do they deny others the right to speak by shouting them down?  Why do so many adults abandon reason and self-control when life throws a wrench into their works?  What happened to the work ethic?   Why do so many people think, or DEMAND, that the taxpayer provide for them?  Why do they resort to violence when their demands are not met?  These are all questions we have asked.  I would like to offer an explanation.

For those of you that have children, or work with children, have you ever tried to talk to a tantruming child?  Have you ever talked to a teen that thinks they know everything, and facts and reason simply don’t enter into their thinking?  Have you ever tried to debate a liberal?  Are you seeing the connection?  That’s where we are, in my opinion.  We are dealing with people that haven’t grown up yet, or never will.  How else might you explain that liberal protests often end in vandalism, rioting, and abuse of others?  I mean, I’ve never seen Conservatives so angry as there are now, but they have rallies and clean up after themselves, often leaving the area cleaner than how they found it.  They do not engage in violence, or vandalism.  I can’t imagine that happening at a rent-a-mob protest, say, at the G20 or OWS.  What’s the difference?

When a child is told “no” they have a number of options on how to react; they might pitch a fit, they might cooperate and get over it, or they may sulk and become passive aggressive, among others.  If the child pitches a fit, and it succeeds in achieving their goal, they will continue using this response until life intervenes and makes that behavior ineffective or unprofitable for them.  Doesn’t their reactions to losing a vote, or demanding a result, look like temper tantrums?  Also, if organizations, governments, or individuals “cave in” when the liberals whine, threaten, and protest; you might suspect that they’ll do it again.  After all, it worked all those other times!

You can apply this to economics as well.  Think of the teen that badgers their parents for an extra twenty bucks to go to a movie, or the kid that expects that mommy or daddy should pay for their 20,000 text messages.  They haven’t earned anything-they have no concept of the value of the labor that earned that sum.  Doesn’t that sound like a microcosm of liberal fiscal policy?  Daddy’s “magic wallet” becomes the “magic treasury,” where money appears as if from nowhere and is in limitless supply.  “Who cares where it comes from, as long as I get mine!” The more I looked at it, the comparison become clear.

Let’s take a look at the media.  How many times were the Tea Party crowds referred to in an insulting manner?  I don’t mean using simple humor or an occasional joke either.  It was brutal and persistent.  Now, remember back to Junior High.  How did kids treat each other there?  Any similarities?   It wasn’t about making a joke that everyone could appreciate, it was meant to destroy the target.   Then, for Tea Parties round two, the media went back to ignoring or “shunning” the thousands that showed up to protest around the country.  To me, that was kind of like the tween version of …”Let’s ignore that group over there because we don’t like them.”

Social policy ends up being a similar scenario.  Liberals want to “normalize” all sorts of behaviors so they can do what they want.   They are ruled by their passions and wants, not by ideology.  Many times, I think they are little more than walking “Ids,” with no rudder or hindsight-even in the face of negative consequences and failure.  As long as they can do as they please, they are not deterred by negative consequences.  In fact, they demand that we fund or discover a means to negate those consequences.  Forget that the negative consequences could be avoided easily by not engaging in the behavior-that won’t do.  They want to have their cake, and gorge on it too, all at our expense.

And it doesn’t stop at being amoral.  When the liberals lose a vote, or discover that some people disagree with them, they don’t try to figure out what went wrong, or try to get their message out.  They threaten, intimidate, try to get people fired from their jobs, disrupt church services, and so on.  If a majority of the people disagrees with them, they ignore that fact and attack, just like the tantuming child.  In the end, and there are many more examples, much of the liberal social agenda is about removing restraints on behavior.  It isn’t because of freedom or rights, it’s about “this is what I want to do.”

I have a very hard time relating to liberals.  I now realize that there is a reason for that, and it’s not always ideological.  Conservatives are the parents that say “no,” and try to set reasonable limits.  Liberals are the children that throw tantrums when they don’t get what they want.  Having self-restraint is an alien concept to many of them, as a large number of them are ruled by their passions and emotions.  Reason and logic aren’t often apparent to them.  They also can’t delay their gratification, so they want the “fix” from the government.  Sometimes, it’s because they want “revenge” on the people that have self control, and as a consequence, are more successful they they are.  I’ve talked to many liberals that take a lot of pleasure from the fact that the Obama’s policies will “ruin” people.  Others have worked harder than they have, or have simply succeeded to a greater degree.  Instead of looking at this as an opportunity to learn, they seek to punish the more successful person to make themselves feel better.  At any rate, they want what they want, and they want it now, and we’re in the way.  Since so many of them are arrested in their own development, they act accordingly.

This is why we can’t understand them, and they can’t understand us.   To them, we are the other kids that “aren’t popular.”  So, they treat us as if we were other kids, using the same tactics that children use to get what they want.  They name call, bully, “spread rumors,” ostracize…any behavior that a middle school sees on a daily basis.  We attempt to approach them as adults, with facts and information.  This invariably fails.  We aren’t even on the same wavelength.  I would compare it to having conversation with a dozen feral cats…painful, and with no hope of a constructive solution.

In past decades, we could debate-we were peers.  They had other ideas, and they passionately and honestly presented them.  Now, they are not like us.  They lie, deceive, intimidate, threaten, and manipulate.  There can no longer be a debate about ideas, as the other side wants power, and their ideas shift to exploit the current crisis.  They’re for democracy, until they lose.  They’re for “civil discourse” until it is time to threaten or discredit an opponent.  They claim to represent the poor, but their policies keep the poor in poverty.  They claim to be for the little man, but they discard the little man when he gets in their way.  It is a complete lack of fundamental principals that separate us.  We have them; they do not.

I also believe that this is why liberals make such effective useful idiots.  They are promised all sorts of  benefits by their benefactors.  They are promised security, less work, the “freedom” (license) to do what their heart desires, less responsibility, all sorts of benefits, and other nonsense.  They then go out and act as the thugs and goons of the liberal movement.  Little do they know that they are pawns and will be caught up in the tyranny with the rest of us, but then again, most of them aren’t able to look that far into the future.

Perhaps this will help us understand liberals.  It won’t change their behavior, but it might help us deal with them.

Remember this quote from Michelle Obama?

“Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zone . . . Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual – uninvolved, uninformed.”

She was far more prophetic than she will ever know.

Since Obama’s election, millions of Americans have become more informed, and more involved.  The Tea Party movement has galvanized millions in calling for smaller, more responsible government.  We are reading more and more, and in many cases, writing extensively and otherwise exchanging information.  We are in the process of returning the GOP to its roots.  We are engaging in nothing less than a peaceful ideological revolt against the left-and we’re meeting with some success.

These are all encouraging signs.  However, we must realize one thing:  enlisting in this “army” is a lifetime commitment.  This isn’t like WWI, or WWII.  There will be no definitive capitulation.  There will be no surrender ceremony, after which we get go home to the old status quo.  Our adversaries will never give up.  They may be defeated, or delayed, but they will go to ground; hiding within the bureaucracies, universities, and other institutions.  They will continue to indoctrinate youth.  They will continue to spin lies and propaganda.  They will continue to divide and exploit by race, economics, gender, or religion.  And, when they see the opportunity, they will strike out at freedom via regulation, legislation, and legal decisions.  Failing that, they will resort to thuggery and violence.

We are locked in nothing less than a fight with evil.  It is evil to kill the unborn.  It is evil to legislate evil into good, and good into evil.  It is evil to steal from one, and give to another in order to secure the “other’s” loyalty.  It is evil to flaunt our existing laws, and create new ones to make criminals out of good people.   It is evil to indoctrinate children into falsehoods, while failing to educate them to think independently.  It’ ia evil to intimidate others into silence.  And, it is  evil to justify and attempt to legalize pedophilia.  But, that is what we are seeing.  Not only are our enemies not going to stop, they’re going to sink lower and lower.

Evil will never stop, or surrender.  For them, peace will only come when we are either silenced or dead.  There is no compromise with evil.  There are no treaties with darkness.  If they cease firing, it’s only to regroup and repackage their lies and deceptions.   Then, they will be back; telling even greater lies, and causing even more deception.  There is no negotiation with evil-they’re committed to our destruction.  So, constant vigilance is needed to stem the tide.

We look to be victorious in November.  We might win again in 2016.  Even if we are more successful than our wildest dreams, we will still be needed.  The candidates that we support will need our help, and our guidance, should they stray.  We will need to take to the streets when needed.  We will need to counter the left’s propaganda, as well as discuss the news and ideas that the MSM refuses to cover.

The lies of the left wither in the daylight of the truth.  Let’s shine that light.

On this day in 1776 Thomas Paine published his pamphlet “Common Sense.”  This 47-page pamphlet made the arguments in favor of American independence.  Mr. Paine’s use of plain language spoke to the common people of America. It was also the first published pamphlet that openly argued for independence.  The powerful words of Mr. Paine helped galvanize a movement that before Common Sense was published was a scattered grumbling at best.

Paine fundamentally changed the tenor of colonists’ argument with the crown when he wrote the following:  “Europe, and not England, is the parent country of America.  This new world hath been the asylum for the persecuted lovers of civil and religious liberty from every part of Europe.  Hither they have fled, not from the tender embraces of the mother, but from the cruelty of the monster; and it is so far true of England, that the same tyranny which drove the first emigrants from home, pursues their descendants still.”

The power of words.  We must remember this when writing our articles.  The power of words can unite or divide.  They can turn a mob into a movement.  They can restore a republic.  In the next four years we’re going to face some serious challenges as a nation.  We going to see our constitution ignored.  We’re going to see more liberties stripped away from us.  And we’re going to see our beloved America begin to unravel.  The power of words can turn this around.  Think about the letter that former U.S. Marine Joshua Boston wrote to Senator Feinstein and the power of his words.

Senator Dianne Feinstein,

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.

I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.

I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.

The words in this letter went viral because it resonated with people.  It not only challenged her perceived authority on this matter, but it highlighted her arrogance.  It reminded people who we were as a people.  This is the power of words and how it can change the narrative.  This letter put Senator Feinstein on the defense and made her look smaller in the eyes of many.  Each day we write and publish articles that cover a wide variety of topics.  We do our best with each topic, but do our words really resonate with the people?  Are they powerful and factually sound?  I believe in the power of words.  I believe that each of us are using words each day to try to save the republic.  We must be make sure our efforts are meaningful and our words resonate with the people.  We must like Thomas Paine use the power of words to ignite a movement to restore the republic.

Last April, I covered Melissa Harris-Perry’s comment that “All your children are belong to us,” and by “us,” I meant the state.  That stupidity, like all liberal stupidity, was repeated recently.  The Trifecta gang covered the state’s claim on our children…

Hey, why depend on dead dictators to show the origins of Harris Perry’s thinking?

Remember how the Clinton administration viewed children and “human capital.”  These principals are at work in our country as we speak! -Editor 

Shortt also cites Robert Owen, one of the Anglo-American world’s first influential socialists, who developed a similar philosophy of education. Owen believed that children should be separated from their parents as early as possible and raised by the state. He believed people were exclusively the products of their social environments, and that if nurtured properly by the state, could be molded into whatever was desired. A key to the thinking that went into forming the official ideology of state-sponsored education was that human beings are innately good, not sinful, and that human nature could be perfected by the right kind of educational system. OK, I know, that’s overkill.  But what Harris-Perry is talking about.  Totalitarian systems always take children, claiming that they are belong to the state.  They take them in the name of nurturing and protecting them, but in the end, what they are doing is enslaving them to a failed ideology.  And, they also get the added benefits of the students coming out uneducated, unthinking, unquestioning, and following the regressive ideology to the nth degree.  After all, there is free stuff to be had.

My assessment today is the same as last April-education is an indoctrination machine, and parents have no right to interfere with the creation of more low information voters.

Common Core seems to be uncommonly stupid.  As social media allows the distribution of the nonsense, more and more Americans are finding out that the only thing common about the core is that it’s intrusive, nonsensical, and full of propaganda.  For the latest, here is a parent’s response to an overly complicated math problem…

Of course, practical reality has nothing to do with education.  In fact, I believe that is intentional.  Reality doesn’t cooperate with the regressive agenda.  Common Core should be called Common Corpse-at least Obama would get it.

Sorry, but under common core, there is no privacy-only predetermined outcomes and attitudes, and millions of low information too dumb to realize that MSNBC is a propaganda outlet.

Take a look at this common core math assignment and ask yourself if it is intentionally meant to make children stupid…

Mina Boyd, whose kindergartener came home with a Common Core math workbook this week, noticed her daughter’s unusual frustration regarding one lesson entitled “Count and Write 20.”

“Count and tell how many pieces of fruit. Write the number,” the assignment asks.

To Boyd’s surprise, the math problem only included 19 countable apples despite several surrounding problems correctly showing 20.

“They ask her to count and write 20. So she counts, counts again, and again, and says ‘mom, there’s only 19,’” Boyd explained on a Facebook post.

According to Kyle Olson, founder of the Common Core watchdog site Education Action Group, the workbook is produced by a well known publisher with deep Common Core ties.

“The lesson is part of a “Go Math” Common Core-aligned curriculum published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt,” Olson noted.

And there you have it.  Government organized  stupidity inflicted on your children, at your expense.

When people “wake up,” or are questioning the differences between what they see, and what they have been taught, they frequently ask, “How did this happen?”

People see others being rewarded for failure, or penalized for success.  Politicians lie, and lie egregiously.  People that tell the truth are vilified.  Professors and public school teachers consistently and persistently teach against our nation and heritage, and penalize those who do not “go along.”  Too many of our citizens believe that it is appropriate to confiscate the wealth of another to subsidize their own failed lifestyles.  Our president apologizes for our nation’s defending freedom, and others blame us for terrorist attacks that take the lives of thousands of innocent people.  Our children are not educated-they are indoctrinated.  Our children are over sexualized, by their schools, by their peers, and by the entertainment industry.  They know little of our nation and government, but they know how to put a condom on a banana.  The list could go on and on.  One thing is clear, our nation has changed, and it continues on a frightening course.

To describe what has happened to our nation, and more importantly, our culture, we have to look at the architects of that change.  The fact is that our culture has been targeted for decades, and most Americans are completely unaware of the nature of this attack.  It has been incremental, and has impacted all of our institutions.  To examine all of this, I will be quoting “The Culture-wise Family: Upholding Christian Values in a Mass Media World.”

First, we have to look at the term “Cultural Marxism.”

Before World War I, Marxist theory said that if Europe ever erupted in war, the working classes in every European country would rise in revolt, overthrow their governments and create a new Communist Europe. But when war broke out in the summer of 1914, that didn’t happen. Instead, the workers in every European country lined up by the millions to fight their country’s enemies. Finally, in 1917, a Communist revolution did occur, in Russia. But attempts to spread that revolution to other countries failed because the workers did not support it.

After World War I ended in 1918, Marxist theorists had to ask themselves the question: What went wrong? As good Marxists, they could not admit Marxist theory had been incorrect. Instead, two leading Marxist intellectuals, Antonio Gramsci in Italy and Georg Lukacs in Hungary (Lukacs was considered the most brilliant Marxist thinker since Marx himself) independently came up with the same answer. They said that Western culture and the Christian religion had so blinded the working class to its true, Marxist class interests, that a Communist revolution was impossible in the West, until both could be destroyed. That objective, established as cultural Marxism’s goal right at the beginning, has never changed.

Now, the meaning of the term “Western Culture” is not made explicit here.  To elaborate, here is a definition:

Western culture is a body of knowledge derived from reason.

This foundation of reason has made possible a vast accumulation of understanding related to reality or nature, including human nature.

This understanding is represented in several core ideals and values, which include individualism, happiness, rights, capitalism, science and technology.

Western culture can also be referred to as advanced culture; this is because its ideas and values promote the development and sustainment of advanced civilization.

So, when offered Communism, the workers rejected it.  Western Culture interfered.  The ideas of individuality, self reliance, success, work, owning property, the ability to rise above one’s origins, all give hope to the people, especially when the people can act upon and achieve these hopes.   The ability to earn, and keep what you earn; all lead to resistance to Communism.  After all, why would you give up the ability to earn and be successful to join a de-humanizing collective?

Christianity has another powerful role on resistance to Marxism.  Marxism is “Godless,” by it’s own description, however, I have often postulated that this is an incorrect.  I believe that in a Marxist state, God is replaced by the state as the giver of life and all things material.  Religion, and its reliance on a higher power creates a situation in which loyalty to the state is secondary to the loyalty to God.  This is intolerable to the Marxist.

Gramsci famously laid out a strategy for destroying Christianity and Western culture, one that has proven all too successful. Instead of calling for a Communist revolution up front, as in Russia, he said Marxists in the West should take political power last, after a “long march through the institutions” – the schools, the media, even the churches, every institution that could influence the culture. That “long march through the institutions” is what America has experienced, especially since the 1960s. Fortunately, Mussolini recognized the danger Gramsci posed and jailed him. His influence remained small until the 1960s, when his works, especially the “Prison Notebooks,” were rediscovered.

Georg Lukacs proved more influential. In 1918, he became deputy commissar for culture in the short-lived Bela Kun Bolshevik regime in Hungary. There, asking, “Who will save us from Western civilization?” he instituted what he called “cultural terrorism.” One of its main components was introducing sex education into Hungarian schools. Lukacs realized that if he could destroy the country’s traditional sexual morals, he would have taken a giant step toward destroying its traditional culture and Christian faith.

Please realize that Mussolini was not a good guy.  The fascists, particularly Hitler, viewed Marxism as a related, but inferior system to fascism.  Mussolini was simply imprisoning another political opponent, one from a related, but competing ideology.

I think it’s easy to see that the long march through the institutions has been largely completed, and the steps to taking political power are well underway.  They have education, law, media, and many other related fields.  Considering that they want to do away with alternative media, ban home schooling, and use law to accomplish both, the intent becomes clear.

Also, what conclusions can we make regarding the sexual revolution?  Is it about “liberating people,” or was it just about getting people away from religion?  After all, most religions teach sexual restraint.  This is taught in the home and at church.  However, if the media, and later the schools, teach the opposite, and literally encourage sexual experimentation, a disconnect with the religious instruction and belief is created.  This worked incredibly well in Communist states.

P. Blanchard, in ‘The Humanist” 1983, continues: “I think that the most important factor moving us toward a secular society has been the educational factor. Our schools may not teach Johnny how to read properly, but the fact that Johnny is in school until he is 16 tends toward the elimination of religious superstition. The average American child now acquires a high school education, and this militates against Adam and Eve and all other myths of alleged history.”

As time wore on, these men formed what was to be called the Institute for Marxism.  Realizing that people would be alarmed by that name, they instead called it the “Institute for Social Research.”  Colloquially, it was referred to as the “Frankfort School.”  I guess that this is the first example of “CALLING IT SOMETHING ELSE?”

With the help of this new blood, Horkheimer made three major advances in the development of cultural Marxism. First, he broke with Marx’s view that culture was merely part of society’s “superstructure,” which was determined by economic factors. He said that on the contrary, culture was an independent and very important factor in shaping a society.

Second, again contrary to Marx, he announced that in the future, the working class would not be the agent of revolution. He left open the question of who would play that role – a question Marcuse answered in the 1950s.

Today, when Hollywood’s cultural Marxists want to “normalize” something like homosexuality (thus “liberating” us from “repression”), they put on television show after television show where the only normal-seeming white male is a homosexual. That is how psychological conditioning works; people absorb the lessons the cultural Marxists want them to learn without even knowing they are being taught.

Brainwashing, pure and simple.  Denigrate the culture, and make this denigration appear everywhere.  Schools, media, even some churches, all promote Cultural Marxism.  The sad thing is-they don’t even know they’re doing it!  Of course, we know, because they said what they were going to do, and it’s being done!

To serve its purpose of “negating” Western culture, the Frankfurt School developed a powerful tool it called “Critical Theory.” What was the theory? The theory was to criticize. By subjecting every traditional institution, starting with family, to endless, unremitting criticism (the Frankfurt School was careful never to define what it was for, only what it was against), it hoped to bring them down. Critical Theory is the basis for the “studies” departments that now inhabit American colleges and universities. Not surprisingly, those departments are the home turf of academic political correctness.

The Frankfurt School sought to define traditional attitudes on every issue as “prejudice” in a series of academic studies that culminated in Adorno’s immensely influential book, “The Authoritarian Personality,” published in 1950. They invented a bogus “F-scale” that purported to tie traditional beliefs on sexual morals, relations between men and women and questions touching on the family to support for fascism. Today, the favorite term the politically correct use for anyone who disagrees with them is “fascist.”

This is one of the big lies of the left.  Anyone who believes in freedom is a “fascist.”  Anyone who believes in doing what the Marxists or Fascists actually did, are progressives!   This doesn’t actually present a way of thinking and doing that might be better, it’s about silencing and discrediting dissent.  If you can discredit a person, than you discredit their ideas.  The progressives have to avoid discussing ideas, especially when the ideas are superior to what they are trying to do.

The Frankfurt School again departed from orthodox Marxism, which argued that all of history was determined by who owned the means of production. Instead, they said history was determined by which groups, defined as men, women, races, religions, etc., had power or “dominance” over other groups. Certain groups, especially white males, were labeled “oppressors,” while other groups were defined as “victims.” Victims were automatically good, oppressors bad, just by what group they came from, regardless of individual behavior.

I remember having a discussion with a group of people that claimed that I have had some level of success in my life due to “white privilege.”  Now, this claim intends to do a few things:

1. It attempts to negate the influence the actual effort and work.  This is a part of Western Culture.  I actually made a great effort to get educated, and then I worked hard at my career.  However, this is contrary to Marxism, so it must be discredited by claiming that anything I have came about because of my race.  Frankly, I don’t particularly like my efforts being discredited.
2. The ability to succeed gives hope to others.  To keep their victim classes on the “plantation,” the progressives must convince the “victims” that they are kept at a low level due to others having this “privilege.”   Victim classes can only be kept victims if they are thoroughly convinced that they cannot succeed.  What better way to do that than to convince them that successful people are only successful because of “special advantages?”  They also claim that any minorities that achieve success have “sold out.”  Remember Clarence Thomas’s confirmation?
3. Many people are prompted to feel guilt when they are brought to the understanding of their “privilege.”  Don’t laugh!  I’ve literally heard people say this!  After all, if you are feeling guilty about having things because the culture is so totally in your favor, you might not feel very bad about giving up some things to make it all right, like, for example, your freedom?

In the end, I didn’t cave in to the Marxism, so I was accused of being a racist.  In typical progressive fashion, I had to be discredited.  Facts were irrelevant, and what I said had to be discounted.  The smear is the last defense of the progressives.

Though Marxists, the members of the Frankfurt School also drew from Nietzsche (someone else they admired for his defiance of traditional morals was the Marquis de Sade). They incorporated into their cultural Marxism what Nietzsche called the “transvaluation of all values.” What that means, in plain English, is that all the old sins become virtues, and all the old virtues become sins. Homosexuality is a fine and good thing, but anyone who thinks men and women should have different social roles is an evil “fascist.” That is what political correctness now teaches children in public schools all across America. (The Frankfurt School wrote about American public education. It said it did not matter if school children learned any skills or any facts. All that mattered was that they graduate from the schools with the right “attitudes” on certain questions.)

Well, it had to bring us to education eventually.  This is what we have been talking about for years now.  Scores are down, graduation rates are down, and illiteracy is up.  But this is acceptable, as most of the children reject God, and embrace Marxist teachings!

Marcuse also widened the Frankfurt School’s intellectual work. In the early 1930s, Horkheimer had left open the question of who would replace the working class as the agent of Marxist revolution. In the 1950s, Marcuse answered the question, saying it would be a coalition of students, blacks, feminist women and homosexuals – the core of the student rebellion of the 1960s, and the sacred “victims groups” of political correctness today. Marcuse further took one of political correctness’s favorite words, “tolerance,” and gave it a new meaning. He defined “liberating tolerance” as tolerance for all ideas and movements coming from the left, and intolerance for all ideas and movements coming from the right. When you hear the cultural Marxists today call for “tolerance,” they mean Marcuse’s “liberating tolerance” (just as when they call for “diversity,” they mean uniformity of belief in their ideology).

The student rebellion of the 1960s, driven largely by opposition to the draft for the Vietnam War, gave Marcuse a historic opportunity. As perhaps its most famous “guru,” he injected the Frankfurt School’s cultural Marxism into the baby boom generation. Of course, they did not understand what it really was. As was true from the Institute’s beginning, Marcuse and the few other people “in the know” did not advertise that political correctness and multi-culturalism were a form of Marxism. But the effect was devastating: a whole generation of Americans, especially the university-educated elite, absorbed cultural Marxism as their own, accepting a poisonous ideology that sought to destroy America’s traditional culture and Christian faith. That generation, which runs every elite institution in America, now wages a ceaseless war on all traditional beliefs and institutions. They have largely won that war. Most of America’s traditional culture lies in ruins.

So, when we are referred to as racists for questioning Obama’s policies, we know why.  When there is no outrage when Van Jones is an avowed Communist, we see through the ignorance.  When an untold number of protesters swarm Washington DC, and the MSM minimizes it, we see the cause.  When our children are indoctrinated, we see the purpose.

They infiltrated the institutions, just as they said they would.  They have since trained/indoctrinated generations of people.  Think for a moment… why are so many in the MSM are ignoring Obama’s lies, his czars, and the ACORN story?  They were indoctrinated!  They went to the universities!  The Cultural Marxists occupied them first! Why are so many public school teachers towing the line?  Same thing!  They went to the universities!  The list is virtually endless.  They have turned education into a leftist indoctrination machine, allowing them to then infiltrate every other institution in our nation.

This ties together with other topics that we have discussed.  For example, the Alinsky Method seems to be nothing more than a playbook for Critical Theory and tolerant repression.  It is a method to achieve the end.  The media’s ignorance and lies serve as well.  All of the indoctrinated institutions seem to act in the same way to work towards the goals, and circles the wagons for defense.

Where does this leave us?  We are in a precarious situation.  Our institutions are in the possession of people that would fundamentally change our republic.  The vast majority of them have no clue that they are working towards Marxist goals.  That is the evil brilliance of cultural Marxism.  The minions work towards the end goal, one of which they unaware.  But, we are aware, and that is a start.

Who would have thought that higher cigarette taxes would reduce tax revenue?  Well, anyone with a brain would have predictecd that, so I guess that’s why regressives went and did it anyway.  Hot Air has the details…

With some time having passed to let the cash cow fatten, we should check back in and see what the fine citizens of the Land of Lincoln are doing with their new found largesse. I do hope they’re not all getting fat and lazy now that all of the state’s fiscal problems have been solved. Ahhh… happy days.

When Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn signed a bill adding another dollar a pack to the state’s cigarette tax, law enforcement leaders knew they had their hands full.

John Chambers, head investigator for the Illinois Department of Revenue, says cigarette smuggling now rivals illegal drug smuggling, and street gangs are getting involved.

“Keep in mind this is very similar to drug activity, smuggling drugs, and there could be concealed compartments, false floors in the bed of a truck, much like drugs, all packed with cigarettes,” Chambers said.

In Cook County, the tax on smokes is now $4.66 a pack. In Indiana it’s $0.995. Missouri checks in at $0.17. Who could possibly have seen this coming?

In a recent study, University of Illinois at Chicago professor David Merriman found 75 percent of cigarettes in Chicago didn’t have the proper tax stamps. He says the most recent increase will likely have a big impact along state lines.

“For the ordinary everyday smoker, many of them have already found ways to avoid the tax. I think it’s going to be a much bigger issue in areas where the state border makes it a big difference,” Merriman said.

A clerk at a tobacco shop in Hammond, Ind., less than a mile from the state line, says business has doubled since the latest increase began at the end of June.

Native Americans are exempt from cig taxes.  Guess what?  People go to them and buy their smokes!  That seems simple enough, but as usual, there is more here.

The tax hike, the first in six years, is expected to earn the state between $200 million and $300 million. A pack of premium cigarettes in New York City now costs $7 or $8; prices would rise to above $9. Opponents of the tax increase argue that higher prices would drive smokers to seek ways to evade the law and purchase cheaper cigarettes from smugglers or in neighboring states, blunting potential revenue gains for the state. “It’s a black market gold mine,” a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, E.J. McMahon, said of the proposed tax. “You have to invest resources in scores of attorneys, cops, and auditors, who are all part of the tax enforcement you need.”

“By raising cigarette taxes you help fund the mob,” the president of Americans for Tax Reform, Grover Norquist, said. “Cigarettes are easier than liquor, as they’re lighter and smaller per container. It leads to smuggling and smuggling is done best by organized crime.”

Mr. Norquist said New York’s proximity to states with lower taxes would lead smokers to cross the border to buy cigarettes, reducing tax revenue below state projections.

New York has seen significant increases in its cigarette tax rates before. In 2002, New York City’s cigarette tax increased to $1.50 from $0.08, as part of an initiative by Mayor Bloomberg to encourage smokers to give up the habit. Although the taxes produced an increase in city and state revenue, some smokers took illegal measures to avoid paying the new tax, costing taxpayers tens of millions of dollars.

A 2007 report by the Independent Budget Office, a nonpartisan city agency that analyzes the city’s finances, found that 27% of city smokers and 34% of upstate smokers sometimes bought “under-taxed” cigarettes in 2006. These smokers avoided the tax by buying cigarettes from other states, ordering cigarettes over the Internet, and purchasing cigarettes at Indian reservations. The city lost an estimated $40 million in tax revenue as a result of cigarette tax evasion in 2006, according to the report.

“It encourages people not to be ripped off,” the founder of Citizens Lobbying Against Smoker Harassment, Audrey Silk, said of cigarette taxes. “Any consumer who’s so abused will look for ways to avoid it, making outlaws out of normally law-abiding citizens.”

According to Patrick Gleason, director of state affairs for the conservative Americans for Tax Reform, tobacco has not been the revenue boon states that have increased cigarette taxes had hoped.

“The lack of interest in raising tobacco taxes this year can be attributed to the fact that tobacco taxes have indisputably proven to be a dubious and declining source of revenue,” Gleason told TheDC. “From 2003-2007, 16 of 59 tobacco tax hikes fell short of revenue projections.”

Here in Washington D.C., for example, the city’s 2009 $0.50 tax hike resulted in a severe drop in expected revenue. In 2010, the District of Columbia’s chief financial officer Natwar Gandhi reported to the mayor that the projected government intake was over $15 million below what they had initially estimated.

Gleason pointed out that for revenue, cigarette taxes are proving to be a loser.

“New Jersey raised its cigarette tax by 17.5 cents in 2007, yielding $52 million less than Garden State lawmakers anticipated and $22 million less than was generated prior to that tax hike,” Gleason told TheDC. “Over the past decade it has become clear that tobacco taxes are an unreliable source of revenue and one in which no budget should depend on.”

The Empire State is struggling to bring in additional tax revenue it projected it would gain from efforts to stop smokers from buying untaxed  cigarettes on Indian Reservations, reports the New York Post:

The state’s tax collectors were recently calling around to convenience-store owners, wondering what was up. The $130 million in extra tax that Albany was expecting from a change in the law about cigarette sales on Indian reservations wasn’t happening.

A memo sent to members of the New York Association of Convenience Stores from the group’s president, Jim Calvin — a copy of which I have on my desk — said, “I got a call from Gov. Cuomo’s budget office yesterday. In examining cigarette tax receipts so far this fiscal year (April 1 to March 31) it looks like they will fall considerably short of their projection in new revenues. . . .”

The state had hoped to get the extra dough by enforcing a new law that made it illegal for licensed cigarette wholesalers in the state to sell untaxed name-brand cigarettes like Newport and Marlboro to Indian reservations.

Seriously, how many more times does this have to happen before the regressives get it?  They say that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing again and again, and expecting a different result.  Apparently, regressives are the craziest folks on Earth, as they are the energizer bunnies of taxation.   Unfortunately, they are continuing to raise taxes of all sorts, and it’s only going to hurt people, or turn them into criminals.

When regressive propose and implement a policy, and it fails, not only is someone else to blame, the solution to the failure is to do more if it!

Ok then, many states failed to make their projections, but some actually made less under the new rates?  Who could have seen that coming?

It’s actually sad that this even has to be a story.  It should be filed under, “duh!” Anytime you tax an activity, it either decreases, moves somewhere else, or moves underground.  Let’s take a look at some other examples…

When Maryland passed a higher tax rate for millionaires, they suddenly found themselves with 1/3 less millionaires!

Here’s a two-minute drill in soak-the-rich economics:

Maryland couldn’t balance its budget last year, so the state tried to close the shortfall by fleecing the wealthy. Politicians in Annapolis created a millionaire tax bracket, raising the top marginal income-tax rate to 6.25%. And because cities such as Baltimore and Bethesda also impose income taxes, the state-local tax rate can go as high as 9.45%. Governor Martin O’Malley, a dedicated class warrior, declared that these richest 0.3% of filers were “willing and able to pay their fair share.” The Baltimore Sun predicted the rich would “grin and bear it.”

One year later, nobody’s grinning. One-third of the millionaires have disappeared from Maryland tax rolls. In 2008 roughly 3,000 million-dollar income tax returns were filed by the end of April. This year there were 2,000, which the state comptroller’s office concedes is a “substantial decline.” On those missing returns, the government collects 6.25% of nothing. Instead of the state coffers gaining the extra $106 million the politicians predicted, millionaires paid $100 million less in taxes than they did last year — even at higher rates.

So, not only did they not meet their projected other people’s money “revenue,”  they actually lost money on the tax!

And that seems to happen anywhere that there are high taxes…

You mean, people move to places where they can KEEP THEIR OWN MONEY?  Astounding!

And the evidence that we discovered in our new study for the American Legislative Exchange Council, “Rich States, Poor States,” published in March, shows that Americans are more sensitive to high taxes than ever before. The tax differential between low-tax and high-tax states is widening, meaning that a relocation from high-tax California or Ohio, to no-income tax Texas or Tennessee, is all the more financially profitable both in terms of lower tax bills and more job opportunities.

Lower taxes mean MORE JOBS???  What a COMPELTELY NEW AND ORIGINAL idea!

Updating some research from Richard Vedder of Ohio University, we found that from 1998 to 2007, more than 1,100 people every day including Sundays and holidays moved from the nine highest income-tax states such as California, New Jersey, New York and Ohio and relocated mostly to the nine tax-haven states with no income tax, including Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire and Texas. We also found that over these same years the no-income tax states created 89% more jobs and had 32% faster personal income growth than their high-tax counterparts.

You mean free markets and low taxes CREATE MORE JOBS?  You mean PEOPLE EARN MORE?  Who would have thought of that?

Did the greater prosperity in low-tax states happen by chance? Is it coincidence that the two highest tax-rate states in the nation, California and New York, have the biggest fiscal holes to repair? No. Dozens of academic studies — old and new — have found clear and irrefutable statistical evidence that high state and local taxes repel jobs and businesses.

If a regressive were reading this, they might say it isn’t true, in spite of all the evidence.  They’d probably go into some class warfare argument against capitalism, and then propose legislation that would make all states suck equally, so people and jobs wouldn’t leave.

Of course, they could always follow the great statist tradition of building walls to keep people from escaping.

While I don’t support smoking-it’s a dirty habit that I kicked a few years back, taxing it usually causes people to avoid the tax. 

With taxes on tanning salons and medical devises in the ObamaCare law, and the states proposing taxes on all sorts of services and products, I think it might be a good time to take a look at just how successful other taxes have been.  In 1990, a luxury tax was passed to go after the “rich people” by taxing things that they buy, luxury yachts, private aircraft, specialty cars, and the like.  They were dead set on making these evil rich people pay more.  The results?  Predictably, the results were completely forgotten by the left.

Note that all of these articles are take from different times during the existence of this tax, which was later repealed, but the damage was already done.

According to a survey of the largest boat dealers in Connecticut, conducted by the Marine Retailers Association of America (MRAA), sales of boats costing $100,000 or more have fallen 93 percent, from $7.879 million in 1990 to $ 545,000 for the same period this year. Nationwide, more than 19,000 people have been put out of work at boat making plants.

The 1990 budget deal also slapped a hefty luxury tax on boats… to draw more money from wealthy yacht owners. What actually happened? People bought fewer boats. So who really paid the price? The many nonwealthy boat builders who were put out of work by the tax… The [Washington] Post article reported estimates that 25,000 to 30,000 jobs were lost. These effects were so obvious that even the tax raisers in Congress now plan to repeal the yacht tax.

According to a study done for the Joint Economic Committee, the tax destroyed 330 jobs in jewelry manufacturing, 1,470 in the aircraft industry and 7,600 in the boating industry. The job losses cost the government a total of $24.2 million in unemployment benefits and lost income tax revenues. So the net effect of the taxes was a loss of $7.6 million in fiscal 1991, which means the government projection was off by $38.6 million.

So, just from this small sample, we see that the tax did significant damage to several industries.  And once a business closes, it isn’t likely to return.  The job losses become permanent.  Also, the government made no money on the tax, instead, they lost money on it.

This has continued to happen in other circumstances.  NY’s cigarette taxes created a great new business opportunity for the mafia.  Maryland’s “millionaire tax” caused millionaires to move away.  In each situation, the government in question ended up either not making as much money as projected, or lost money.  When you tax an activity, it either decreases, goes away, or goes underground.  It’s happened all through history, and in the end, it’s the wage earner that takes the hit.  He or she is the one who pays higher costs, or no longer has a job, but the elites can sit in the unreality bubble, secure in their belief that they’ve stuck it to the rich.

“This is born out of necessity,” said Gov. Edward G. Rendell of Pennsylvania, a Democrat. His proposed budget, being debated in Harrisburg, would tax services including accounting, advertising and data processing. . . .Most states tax at least some services, particularly items like utilities.

Nevertheless, few states have gone where political leaders in Michigan and Pennsylvania are now suggesting: adding scores of services to their states’ sales tax requirement and lowering the tax rate under a widened tax base. But from coast to coast, desperate governments are looking to tap into new revenue streams.
In Nebraska, a lawmaker has introduced a bill to tax armored car services, farm equipment repairs, shoe shines, taxidermy, reflexology and scooter repairs. In Kentucky,Jim Wayne, a state representative, and some fellow Democrats are proposing taxing high-end services: golf greens fees, limousine and hot-air-balloon rides, and private landscaping.

My first reaction to this, aside from knowing that these taxes will only punish wage earners and small entrepreneurs, is that they are going to tax CLOWNS?  How much money are they expecting to get from that?

So, how many of these businesses will shed jobs, cut benefits, hire less people, or simply close due to these new taxes?  It remains to be seen, but rest assured, we’ll be talking about it.

Tens of thousands of jobs lost, paying out more in unemployment than was collected in taxes- this is our future if the regressives tax as they please.  Of course, the results will be blamed on someone else.  And yes, they actually suggested taxing CLOWNS!

When we speak about the rights of the individual, we are saying something very different than the left’s view of the topic.  Our founders carefully crafted a Constitution that is designed to protect us from the excesses of government.  However, a sufficient percentage of the people have not guarded those rights against government intrusion, until just recently.  Those excesses are readily apparent in our country today:  federal control of education, health care, environmental law, interference with personal property rights, and a litany of others, all in violation of the spirit of the Constitution and it’s writers, interfere with the everyday citizen’s ability to live as he or she pleases.  Limits on religious expression, speech codes, censorship, and oppression are all also beginning to take a toll in the rights of the American citizen.

Our Bill of Rights is a prime example of the founder’s intent.  It guarantees the rights of the individual, while at the same time; the other sections vastly restrict the powers of the government.   The document was created with those concepts in mind.  Today, many liberals lament the fact that the Constitution stresses what the government can’t do, rather than what it can.  To this, I must respond, “That’s the way it’s supposed to be!” Our founders warned us about the threat from the left, even before the left existed.  Their warnings are valid because no matter the underlying philosophy, tyranny is tyranny.

Tyranny, whether it comes in the form of Monarchy, Fascism, Marxism, or “progressivism,” attempts to “solve” human problems by government dictate and action.  To my knowledge, there has never been a totalitarian government that has directly said, “ We’re going to oppress you!”  Instead, they appeal to the masses, sometimes with an offer of protection from a real or imagined threat, or other times, with an offer of “equality and justice.”  Some offer relief from economic chaos, while still others offer a sense of pride or belonging.  Some take control by using carefully coordinated media propaganda and the artificial crisis.  Others assume power by a personality cult, threats, or intimidation.  Their functionaries may create laws and regulations with the intention of creating a crisis.  They may build on pre-existing cultural or economic jealousies, building the tensions until they explode into a ”created crisis” that they can then “solve.”  They use mobs of converts to bully and oppress anyone who interferes with their plans.  They will persecute and vilify anyone who speaks out with knowledge of their true inventions.  Dissenters are branded as defenders of the status quo, unpatriotic, terrorists, or otherwise have their reputations destroyed.  They may be deprived of their work, subjected to frivolous lawsuits, or other “punishments” designed to silence them.  Some may face physical danger, even death.   They will accuse their opposition of doing what their own activists do.  No matter how it is presented, totalitarians use empty promises to decieve the people, convincing them that their particular “medicine” is the cure for the problems they face.  They back that up with social disorder designed to advance their point of view, while at the same time, silencing or discrediting those that disagree with them.  They are deceitful, not only about their intentions, but about the true content of their plans.  Their true goal is gain power, and then, to maintain said power.

Rights hold a different meaning for the left than does the right.  The left see’s the people as a large collective mass, not as individuals.  Their plans and schemes to “help” this mass are top-down controlled programs that do not allow for the individual needs of the people.  Whether it is health care, education, housing, or others, the government places restrictions and requirements on each, eroding the freedom of the individual.  So, when the individual accepts the government “drug,” they lose control over an aspect of their life.  The more of these “rights” that are accepted by the people, the more freedom they lose, until, in the end, their cradle to grave experience is fully managed by the government.   The left also seeks, in the end, to provide these “rights” to everyone, granting them ever-increasing levels of control over the mass and what they can or cannot do.  Since they view the people as a collective mass, they talk about “rights,” like housing, education, and health care. They then apply these to the collective, at the expense of your individual freedom.    At the end of the day, so to speak, the people might have these  “rights,” but they will have no freedom.  After all, if your government controls where you live, your medical care, what you can eat, your salary or wage, your education, your transportation, and what you can say, and where you can say it, how free are you?  Note that all of these examples are now being done, being discussed, or in the process of being enacted.

Another concern with this view of rights is that the individual might be sacrificed for the good of the collective.  If a senior or a disabled person has to be denied care to supply those resources for others, it is acceptable to the left.  Ezekiel Emanuel has said as much himself.  If an individual or small group has to be economically ruined to satisfy a policy initiative, it is an acceptable sacrifice.  If a group of farmers has to be bankrupted to protect a fish, it will be done.  The top-down regulation cannot accept or account for the needs of individuals, only the collective.   In the last century, millions of individuals died in socialist experiments, five-year plans, and the Great Leap Forward.  These statistics were acceptable to the leadership, as long as the collective was maintained, and more importantly, the power of the leadership went unchallenged.

It is also important to note that the totalitarians do not always restrict  rights by direct action.  They will often create circumstances in which individuals will have no opportunity to exercise their enumerated rights.  Elected officials and government appointees have advocated for the control of web content, and the regulation of what one can say, and in what circumstances it can be said.  Similarly, talk radio is to be attacked by mandating changes in local ownership to those people that will not run conservative programming, in spite of the obvious advertising revenue.  The left  will, of course, say that people still have the freedom to speak; they’ll just close the venue.  In other situations, they will create regulations or taxes in order to create scarcity or make a product too expensive for a common individual to purchase or own.  Again, they will hide their intentions in claims of fairness, diversity, environment, and equality, but the true intention is again to gain and maintain power, while at the same time shutting off dissent.

The left also views the human family with disdain.  In the communist nations, efforts were made almost immediately to disrupt the family’s influence over children.  Education was co-opted almost immediately, with children being placed in government sanctioned programs at the earliest age possible.  Home schooling was banned, and private schools were either required to adopt the government program, or were closed altogether.  The purpose was, and still is, to indoctrinate children to the leftist point of view.  Independent thinking and the ability to use logic and reason to address problems are enemies of the left.  A person that can look at their situation and realize that the government is the cause of their problems is a stumbling block for the left.

Also, the government schools have actively worked to separate children from any religious beliefs that they were taught at home or in Church.  In the leftist totalitarian state, there can be no power higher than the state itself.  Religion must be ridiculed as “unsophisticated” or held up as a sign of a limited intellect.  Discrimination and restrictions on religious expression are soon to follow, either passed as law, or mandated by courts.  In the end, the left is jealous of God’s influence, and wishes it for itself.

At the same time the left is creating “rights” that do not exist in our Constitutional Republic, they go about systematically limiting the individual rights that our Constitution guarantees.  Speech codes ban freedom of expression on campuses as “hate.” Religious expression, particularly when the religion in question is Christianity, is being banned from schools and in the public square.  Even in the face of last year’s Supreme Court decision, opponents of the Second Amendment are still working towards a “gun free” America.  Other groups are attempting to use environmental regulations and misapplying eminent domain the deprive property owners of the use of their land and homes.  The power of the states to manage their own internal affairs is being controlled and dominated in defiance of the Tenth Amendment.  Activist judges, some of whom openly boast about making policy, legislate from the bench, creating rights that do not exist, and striking down ones that do.  This is a slow transformation of America, from a free state, to a socialist one.

The left views each human life as a burden; one more mouth to feed, one more brain to indoctrinate, one more body to medicate, one more statistic to manage.  Conservatives view each human life as an opportunity.  We believe that each human being can make decisions for themselves, and manage their affairs without the interference of the state.  Additionally, we can point to examples of government interventions either increasing problems, or creating new ones.

If we are to maintain our freedoms, and recover the full use of them, Americans from all walks of life must stand up and demand them.  This has started, but there is much to be done to stem the tide of tyranny that threatens to overtake us.  The days of political apathy are over.

I do not wish to use violent means, but I will not surrender the safety and security of my family because a politician says I cannot own a firearm.

After republishing Yuri Bezmenov’s videos, I decided to see if there were more.  I found another that expands on destablization.

What sticks out for me is how very well this all compares to what is happening now.  There have been outside influences “inserted” into our society.  Whether it is Move  On, Think Regress, organized labor, the organizations formerly known as ACORN, Common Cause, ACLU, SPLC, and so on, all are designed to disrupt and destroy  our Republic.  These organizations  are causing disorder, and are simply making our free society increasingly impossible to function.  Any of the organizations might create, invent, or otherwise exploit class differences, attack our culture and values, smear people that resist or expose them, cause businesses, systems, or communities to fail…the list goes on and on.  And then, as Bezmenov points out, the accumulated damage caused by these efforts brings the nation to crisis.  We are rapidly approaching that point.

Additionally, our government is actively pursuing these same ends.  From the Department of Education, to the EPA, our own government is engaging in endless “Cloward-Piven” strategies.    While, on the surface, they are trying to “nudge” us into what they have deemed to be the “correct” way to live, can we also say they these strategies are also pushing us into crisis?  And if it is crisis that they seek, is not more power the end-goal?  Is not a result that more and more people are now dependent on government?  As the video points out, how many people are asking for more government to “solve” the problems that government caused in the fist place?

Where the video does show it’s age is in the idea of “sleepers.”  Obviously, since the Soviet Union is no more, there are no more sleepers.  However, there is no longer a need for these, as the Marxists/fascists/”progressives” operate in the open, and are self perpetuating.  From many public school teachers, to the Marxist professor, to the talking heads on MSNBC, to a host of actors, producers, pundits, and community organizers, there results a massive propaganda/indoctrination machine for producing more useful idiots.  And, the beauty of it is that the useful idiots are blissfully unaware that they are being used.  Unfortunately for them, as Bezmenov points out, they will never catch on until they’re being put up against a wall, if they even earn the courtesy of that.

I’ve been seeing some repeating themes as of late.  We have the hard left calling for the revolution.  We have people on our side lamenting the fact that there are millions of Americans that have not seen Obama and the left for what they really are.  That, in spite of overwhelming evidence, we didn’t win both houses of Congress by record margins.  And that Obama has any approval rating at all.   All of these snippets made me go back to one of my favorite sets of videos.

The videos were made in the 1980’s and feature Yuri Bezmenov, the highest ranking KGB official to ever defect to the West.  Take a  listen to how our proud useful idiots will meet their end.  Also not the personality traits that Bezmenov attributes to them.

It’s freakin’ uncanny if you ask me.  This man, back in the 80’s, was describing, in great detail, so many of the useful idiots that we vote for every month. And he was saying it over 20 years ago.

The Major Downside: You have to realize that some of us that have gone public will be targeted.  Just saying.

As for the people that won’t wake up, there is a reason for that…

There is much more to Bezmenov’s interviews.  They can be found on both YouTube and Google Video ( for longer versions).  But again, when we look at reality, and see things fall into place just as we predicted, or, even as our opponents  said they would, and people don’t get it at all, there is a reason for that.  The simple answer is that they aren’t supposed to get it, and they probably never will.  Until, that is, they are about to be lined up against the wall.  That is why I have not advocated a ton of outreach to the left.  They are programmed to deny reality, rendering them useful only as idiots, and temporarily at that.

After reading Robert Stacy McCain’s complete dismantling of the pro-communist rantings of Jesse Myerson, I’ve kept my eyes peeled for other stories that show how, in the words of the late Yuri Bezmenov, “how the beautiful society of equality and social justice is in practice.”  Here is one such example.  The following video shows a typical Moscow grocery store was on a typical day, in 1986.

Now, besides the scarcity, did you notice that no one seemed to smile? No friendly exchanges, no banter, no warm greetings. Just mind-numbing obedience and drudgery.
That was communism in the 80’s, and will be communism where ever it is tried. It is a slow, painful death of the spirit. While all the time, the government and media tells you how great it is. It’s a psychosis that is caused by the contradiction of reality and propaganda. You’re in paradise, while you’re in misery. You’re equal-equally poor, equally oppressed, and equally unhappy. There is the practical application of social justice, while the party big wigs have the best of everything.

Ever try to argue facts and information with a Liberal?  Ever come away from the encounter frustrated?   Well, there’s a reason for that. Here are some excerpts from an interview with Yuri Bezmenov, a defector from the Soviet Union.

I know that intelligence gathering looks more romantic…. That’s probably why your Hollywood producers are so crazy about James Bond types of films. But in reality the main emphasis of the KGB is NOT in the area of intelligence at all. Why that many years? Because this is the minimum number of years required to educate one generation of students in the country of your enemy exposed to the ideology of [their] enemy. In other words, Marxism-Leninism ideology is being pumped into the soft heads of at least 3 generation of American students without being challenged or counterbalanced by the basic values of Americanism; American patriotism.

The result? The result you can see — most of the people who graduated in the 60?s, dropouts or half-baked intellectuals, are now occupying the positions of power in the government, civil service, business, mass media, and educational systems. You are stuck with them. You can’t get through to them. They are contaminated. They are programmed to think and react to certain stimuli in a certain pattern can not change their mind even if you expose them to authentic information. Even if you prove that white is white and black is black, you still can not change the basic perception and the logic of behavior. [alluding to Pavlov].

So, It would seem, by the admission of a former KGB official, that their efforts were successful.  If fact, the progress has even exceeded their expectations…

The demoralization process in the United States is basically completed already for the last 25 years. Actually, it’s over fulfilled because demoralization now reaches such areas where not even Comrade Andropov and all his experts would even dream of such tremendous success. Most of it is done by Americans to Americans thanks to lack of moral standards. As I mentioned before, exposure to true information does not matter anymore. A person who was demoralized is unable to assess true information. The facts tell nothing to him, even if I shower him with information, with authentic proof, with documents and pictures. …he will refuse to believe it…. That’s the tragedy of the situation of demoralization.

Mind you, these words were spoken in the 80?s.  I think we all recognize that the situation has deteriorated significantly since then. Think about politicians like Allen Grayson, everyone on MSNBC (and most of the MSM), and the public schools and universities.  It’s all there.  Rights that do not exist are created, and rights that do exist are denied.  Capitalism is decried, and socialism is praised.  Lies, deceit, thuggery, intimidation, propaganda, and media control are all practiced by the left, and are viewed as acceptable practices.  They cling dogmatically to socialism, as it continues to destroy the country.  They deny, emphatically, all evidence to the contrary, irregardless  of it’s bulk and validity.  Then, they turn and attack anyone that presents the truth.

It seems hopeless, but it isn’t.  Since the last term of Bush, and especially since Obama’s election, more and more Conservatives have been speaking out.   While the left has entrenched and are attacking with all of their resources (which are considerable), they are losing the debate, as well as the battle for public opinion.  Our advantage is that they are still, in spite of their best efforts, a small minority.  Our disadvantage is that while the left is statistically small, they are extremely well placed.  Since their “long march through the institutions,”  their impact reaches far beyond their numbers.

As usual, here are some ideas on how to deal with this situation:

1.  Don’t engage a leftist unless you can bury them in facts.  It won’t matter to the leftist, but anyone else that can see, hear, or read might be convinced by reality.

2.  Stay on message.  Leftists, when hit with reality, will change the subject to something that they think they use against you.  The classic, “Where were you when Bush was POTUS?” is easily answered by saying, “where are you now?”  You might be tempted to state that most of us didn’t agree with Bush’s policies, but then you are talking about history, and not what’s happening now.  Also, you are defending yourself rather than dealing with Obama’s policies.  Thread hijacking, ad-hominem attacks, lies, and logical fallacies are all part of the leftist playbook.  Point out that they are not responding to content, and move on with your point.  If they get shrill, let them, because you win!

3.  Don’t allow yourself to be distracted.  The infiltrators, the “anarchists,” and the MSM are all lying and/or threatening the movement.  While these need to be addressed, they don’t have to be a primary focus.  From what I saw, the Tea Parties did a fantastic job of identifying the infiltrators.  That, and the message still got out, and that is the key.  As for the MSM, let them say what they will.  This blog, and many others, expose their lies on a regular basis.  When they lie, and anyone can look it up on-line and see the truth, the more audience they will lose.  Let them fall on their own swords.  Basically, if your adversary is self destructing, get out of the way and let them.

4.  Facts, facts, and non-violence are our weapons of choice.  Stick with those, and we win.  Forget the left, they cannot be convinced of anything.  They will likely not overcome their programming.  We are trying to convince the people that aren’t sure, and might still be able to think a bit.  That too is working.  More people are coming to our cause all the time.

5.  Educate yourselves.  Read, watch, and learn.  A knowledgeable opponent will give the average leftist fits.  Again, when they get shrill, we win.

6. Stay calm.  If you lose your cool, you lose.  The goal of the leftist, beyond taking you off message, is to upset you and make you lash out, rendering you ineffective.

As we all know, freedom of speech is under attack.  Mark Lloyd proposes to replace privately owned media with a government approved and moderated PBS.  Cass Sustein and Henry Waxman have both floated the idea of regulating Internet content.  Speech codes on campus restrict the free flows of ideas on college campuses.  The ACLU threatens to sue kids that pray at graduation ceremonies.  People are threatened if they pray in public.  Conversely, the left is able to engage in whatever outrageous activity they choose, and even do what they accuse the right of doing.  The double standard is sometimes astounding.

Following Marxist concepts like “tolerant repression,” the left seeks to limit or eliminate dissent. We understand that this is part of their effort to obtain power by silencing all opposition, or making said opposition ineffective, and unable to reach the people.  Their allies in the media do not cover stories critical of the left, or distorts them into a one sided attack on the opposition.  The government ignores mass protests and accuses the protesters of “racism, terrorism,” and being paid by special interests.  What they cannot ban, or cover up, they will discredit.  They attempt to cloud genuine dissent with hate, all in order to attack the messenger, and to ignore the message.

Our Constitution guarantees freedom of speech, this is certain.  And we know that in a Constitutional Republic, free speech is vital for debate and the free flow of ideas.  Without free speech, the Republic that so many bled and died for would take a short trip into tyranny. All these are true, but I would submit that there is an additional benefit for freedom of speech.

Every nation has fringe groups; racists, religious extremists of every type, anarchists, communist revolutionaries, national socialists, and probably a huge number of others.  It is tempting to deny these people a public forum, as they are repugnant to most all Democrats, Independents, and Republicans. But there are benefits to allowing them speak and function in the open:

1. If they are public, we know who they are.  Putting a face to the hate allows us to confront it.
2. If they speak openly, we can know what they believe, and what they want.  Knowing this allows us all to confront them.
3. If they operate openly, we know what they are doing.  We can keep track of them, and monitor their activities.

If we ban free speech, even the speech that we find disgusting, we lose some things:

1. We will have no idea who the extremists are, as they won’t go away, they’ll go underground.
2. We will have no idea what they believe or plan to do.
3. By banning their speech, the government will prove most of their beliefs about their ideas being a threat to power.
4. Being banned makes them more attractive to “recruits.” They will have the “truth those in power don’t want you to know.”
5. They become dangerous and more likely to take violent action.

Freedom of speech means that you might be offended by something that is said or written.  We have to take hate for what it is, and confront it, or just let if fail under the weight of it’s own stupidity.  We have to allow all of it, or face tyranny.  No party or group should have the ability to eliminate freedom of speech, or our Republic is doomed.

Since our Republic is essentially on it’s deathbed, and Obama’s hand is poised on the plug for the final pull, many are contemplating their role in the new order.  Do we quietly  acquiesce, and accept our enslavement, or do we try to sabotage the nanny state by refusing be be sucked dry?  Well, there is a way to legally and ethically resist the beast-it’s called “going Galt.”   If you are unaware  “going Galt” is a reference to Ayn Rand’s prophetic novel, Atlas Shrugged, in which the producers in a future America tire of being vilified and robbed by a nanny state.  Their response was to drop out and refuse to produce, leading to the collapse of the corrupt system.  Reaganite Republican has a good description of what it means to “go Galt.”

The basic premise of the entire “Fat Justice/Thin Privilege” delusion appears to be that health is a social construct designed solely to take careers, sexual attraction, and prosperity from fat people, and give it to thin ones.   And, all of those health problems that are scientifically proven to come with being overweight, like heart attack, hypertension, and diabetes?  It’s all made up to make shame the fat, and reward the thin!

My portrayal of the “Fat Justice/Thin Privilege” folks, of course, is largely parody.  After all, how can one discuss something so ridiculous, and not laugh.  However, for the “Fat Justice/Thin Privilege” crowd, it’s very serious.

As serious as a heart attack, you might say.

Now friends, since the war on women has backfired, gun control was defeated, and the Boston Marathon Bombers were not white, the messiah is creating more and more distractions from his economic failure. But there is one thing that is conspicuous in its absence. What the hell happened to global warming? It’s taken a back seat during the campaign. Since when is the apocalypse put on hold? I am therefore declaring it missing, and would like your help in finding it.

According to Director Robert S. Mueller, III, FBI Director, Global Warming was reported missing several years ago, as the messiah took office. According to Director Mueller;

“Global Warming has been discussed and debated quite a bit over the last year, however, it hasn’t actually been seen since 2007. No one that we have talked to has actually been in contact with Global Warming. It is quite a mystery, but I want the American to rest assured that we will search diligently until Global Warming is located. The messiah has charged me with this task, and we have our best people working on it.”

To supplement the forces of the messiah, I have enlisted the aid of our crack Conservative Hideout 2.0 Investigative Team. Here are some of our findings:

To gauge the Democratic response to those findings, we consulted with Al Borg, author of “An Inconsistent Truth.”

Me: Welcome Mr. Borg, I’d like your reaction to our findings. What is your response to the fact that global temperatures are dropping, and the arctic sea ice is growing?

Borg: WE ARE THE BORG. YOUR CULTURE WILL ADAPT YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINTS TO SERVICE US.

Me: I see. Do you have a message for the American people?

Borg: RESISTANCE IS FUTILE.

Me: Ah heh…. Do you have any evidence to support your claims, especially in light of the correlation between solar activity and global temperature?

Borg: RESISTANCE IS FUTILE; YOU WILL SUFFER WHILE MY MANSIONS ARE BRIGHTLY LIT. I WILL LAUGH AS I FLY OVER YOUR FREEZING HOUSES IN MY PRIVATE JET.

Me: Mmkay, Goodbye (Damn, why are all these democrats freaks?).

Next, I decided to talk to a burnt out hippie to get a better feel for the opposition. After all, who best to know of Global Warming than a burnt out, unwashed hippie?

Hippie: Did you know DUDE… that civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind. Not only that dude, that by 1995, somewhere between 75 and 85 percent of all the species of living animals will be extinct.

Me: Orly?

Hippie: Yeah DUDE! It’s a bummer maaan. But it gets worse. Did you know that the world will be eleven degrees colder in the year 2000? This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age. Duuude, it’s a major buzzkill (inhales deeply on a bong). How will we grow more weed duuuude?

Me: I see. Is there more?

Hippie: Oh yeah DUUUDE!! They were saying that by 1985, air pollution would have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half? How will we grow weed dude? Did you also know that that in 1973, 200,000 Americans will die from air pollution, and that by 1980 the life expectancy of Americans would be 42 years?

Me: Hey man, answer me one question…what year is it?

Hippie: DUUUDE! Calendars are for fascists! We can’t be restrained by imposed time limits… Is it about 1972?

Me: (Facepalm) Do you know that it’s 2014, and NONE of the things you said even came close to happening?

Hippie: DUUUUUUUDE (Hits bong deeply)

With the few remaining brain cells of the hippie in their death throes, I decided to move on. I guess that because the earth had cooled between the late 40?s and late 70?s, the environmentalists made their exaggerations “fit” the data. Then, when the earth began to warm in the 80?s and 90?s, they had to retool their warnings of doom and gloom to create a “global Warming” scare. Each time though, it’s the same thing. We’re destroying the Earth, and it’s capitalism’s fault. What will they do if the current cooling continues? It just might given the fact that the sun is about to go into one of it’s regular phases of decreased output. How much do they expect the people of the world to “buy?”

Frankly, unless evidence proves the contrary, the Conservative Hideout can’t declare Man Made Global Warming missing, we may have to state that it never existed!

Apparently, “due process” in the US has been replaced by the pen of Barak Hussein Obama.  Ordinarily “due process” is required to deprive someone of their rights.  The idea is that government is not the granter of human rights, but the protector of rights endowed by our creator.  So, there has to be a legal process and a sound rationale for restricting the rights of an American citizen.  Unless, that is, you are a veteran in Barak Hussein Obama’s  Amerika, and you own guns. Constitutional Attorney Michael Connelly writes for Red Flag News:

How would you feel if you received a letter from the U.S. Government informing you that because of a physical or mental condition that the government says you have it is proposing to rule that you are incompetent to handle your own financial affairs? Suppose that letter also stated that the government is going to appoint a stranger to handle your affairs for you at your expense? That would certainly be scary enough but it gets worse.

What if that letter also stated: “A determination of incompetency will prohibit you from purchasing, possessing, receiving, or transporting a firearm or ammunition. If you knowingly violate any of these prohibitions, you may be fined, imprisoned, or both pursuant to the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, Pub.L.No. 103-159, as implemented at 18, United States Code 924(a)(2).”?

That makes is sound like something right from a documentary on a tyrannical dictatorship somewhere in the world. Yet, as I write this I have a copy of such a letter right in front of me. It is being sent by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to hundreds, perhaps thousands, of America’s heroes. In my capacity as Executive Director of the United States Justice Foundation (USJF) I have been contacted by some of these veterans and the stories I am getting are appalling.

The letter provides no specifics on the reasons for the proposed finding of incompetency; just that is based on a determination by someone in the VA. In every state in the United States no one can be declared incompetent to administer their own affairs without due process of law and that usually requires a judicial hearing with evidence being offered to prove to a judge that the person is indeed incompetent. This is a requirement of the Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that states that no person shall “… be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law…”.

Once again, it is apparent that due process of law now resides in the pen of Barak Hussein Obama.  In the most basic sense, this administration is saying to our returning service people…

For years Santa had stopped at the Island of Misfit Toys.  But no more.

“I wouldn’t go near that place anymore” said Santa.  “It’s more dangerous than Mexico, Afghanistan or Detroit.”

The culprit is politics.  For years the Island of Misfit Toys had been ruled by King Moonracer (pictured here), an absolute, hereditary monarch.  But not all were happy with his rule.  Chief among them was Charlie-in-the-Box (seen here.) Charlie, who sees himself as the Island’s resident intellectual, had taken to reading the Federalist Papers and the Declaration of Independence.  Dissatisfied with his position as a subject he began to push for more civil rights and liberalization of the Island’s political structure.  As Charlie said in a manifesto he had plastered throughout the Island:

King Moonracer says he is a benevolent king.  But where is our right to vote?  Where is our right to peacefully assemble and redress grievances?  Our taxes are too high.  His Secret Police spy on us. He has an insatiable sexual appetite and uses our Island’s virgins including Dolly for Sue (pictured here) for his own pleasure.  And to top it off, he’s a Red Sox fan.  Fight the power!  Up with the Republic!

Needless to say the manifestos did not sit well with King Moonracer.  Unable to arrest Charlie-in-the Box, who had gone into hiding with the I.M.T.R.A (Island of Misfit Toys Republican Army), Moonracer arrested the polka dot spotted elephant (seen here in an undated file photo) and had him tortured to reveal Charlie’s whereabouts.  As the elephant’s toenails were ripped off, his trunk turned inside out and electrodes attached to his genitalia, his pathetic screams could be heard around the Island.

Reaction from the Republican Army was swift.  Dozens of the King’s Secret Police were shot.  The King, in an incident now known as “Bloody Sunday“, retaliated by having his troops fire on a crowd watching a soccer match.

As atrocities rage on both sides the fighting shows no signs of letting up, despite offers from the King of a truce, with free bread and posters of David Ortiz to those who accept his pardon.

Currently 60% of the Island is controlled by Republican forces while the other 40% is held by King Moonracer and his loyalists, including Dolly for Sue, who escaped past Republican road blocks to reunite with her lover.

“All I’ve ever wanted is to be loved” Dolly said in a farewell message to Charlie-in-the-Box. “King Moonracer loves me and he is kind to me.”

The I.M.T.R.A. for its part has declared Dolly a traitor and sentenced her to death “In absentia.”

The U.S. State Department has issued an advisory warning its citizens against traveling to the Island of Misfit Toys.

President Obama has called for a “Two state solution” with the Island partitioned into Republican and Loyalist sections.

The POTUS used “Hope” as a slogan during his campaign.  While we would argue that “hope” has nothing to do with Obama’s policies, there is a different context for it.

The progressive agenda has nothing to do with hope; it is a proposal for a control mechanism, nothing more.

• Health care for all?  Not necessarily.  CONTROL of healthcare?  Absolutely!
• Financial reform?   Not so much. CONTROL of the financial sector?  Yup!
• Dealing with “Climate Change” saving the planet?  Not even close.   Massive redistribution program?  YES!

I could go on and on, but I think the point is made.  If there is any hope there at all, it is only the “progressive’s” hope for total control of all human activity.

But what of real hope?  Here is the definition.

How can we say that the “hope” that Obama advertised is actual hope?  His policies and actions have made things worse, just as we predicted.  Unemployment has gone up.  Debt has risen to unsustainable levels.  People are losing their health coverage and doctors.  Our standing in the world has decreased, as foreign powers ridicule him.  Businesses refuse to hire over the uncertainty of tax increases and excessive regulation.  Corruption has increased.  If anything, actual hope has decreased.  Frankly, I believe that this is the intent.

I think that this boils down to an old quote that I had heard years ago.  I believe it shows us what is happening.  Excuse my paraphrase.

“A man is useless to the socialist state until he has given up all hope.”

Kindly consider that in any totalitarian system, individuals cannot succeed in as much that the government permits them.  All phases in the life of the individual is under the control of the state.  Housing, education, work, wages, retirement, medical care, transportation,  and even diet, are all dictated by the state.  How can hope exist in that environment?  The state assumes the control of an individual at birth, and doesn’t let go until they die.  I would suggest that hope is derived from the ability to actively engage in efforts to improve one’s situation.  If one had no control or influence over even the most basic aspects of their lives, how can they hope for anything?  If personal effort, ideas, or labor will not change an individual’s situation, why would they try?

I would submit that this is the general intent of the totalitarian system.   If a person has given up all hope, they will completely submit to the state’s control.  This submission would not be due to the superiority of the state’s position or it’s services, it would come after the realization that there are no alternatives.  The end result would be a discouraged citizen that would not only comply, but eventually wouldn’t even think about having hope for anything else. This is the soul crushing lack of personal will that gripped the population of the former Soviet Bloc.

We can also see this in how the former Soviet Bloc nations presented information to their citizens.  In the late 60’s, the Soviets had some difficulty in keeping their client states subjugated.  The Czechs, in particular, wanted freedom, and at least in that nation, Soviet troops were needed to crush freedom movements.  Therefore, throughout the Vietnam War period, the state controlled media behind the iron curtain piped as much information about American “atrocities,” (The Russians now admit to staging ones that never happened) and student protests as they possibly could.  This was, of course, to smear the American cause in Vietnam, but it was also to crush any hope for freedom among their own citizens.  The anti-war protests in the west were portrayed as a successful communist revolution (they were, in many ways, just that).

The overall goal was to discourage the people that sought freedom.  The United States represented the best hope for human freedom on Earth.  The people that were trapped behind the iron curtain looked to the US for hope (of freedom).  When the Soviets and their puppets broadcast the protests, and spun the coverage, it looked as if Americans were losing their freedom.  It was made to appear that there was no longer an alternative.  The Soviets couldn’t destroy America, but they could use their control of information to destroy the IDEA of America, at least among their own populations.    Again, causing the people to give up hope, and submit to the all-powerful state, as there appeared to be no alternatives.

Many people have asked why our “progressives” don’t go to Cuba, or some other Communist nation to live?  The true answer to that is relatively simple.  If America exists as a free nation, and our Constitution remains intact, it will continue to be a beacon of hope to the oppressed nations of the world.  As long as we remain a free state that protects human freedom, economically outperforms the rest of the world, and provides more wealth to more people, socialism will continue to pale by comparison.  As long as there is true hope for human freedom, and the individual opportunity that comes with it, people will continue to desire it.  Therefore, America, and the ideas that are associated with it, must be destroyed.  So, our left stays, and works hard at destroying America.  If they can accomplish that goal, they will not only end human freedom on this continent, but all over the planet.  Socialism will grow in control unimpeded, as there will be no alternative.  Eventually, the idea and reality of the United States would be scrubbed from history, and sent down the memory hole.  In a few generations, most people would never know that there ever was an alternative.

That’s what the “progressives” want.

Such is the extent of control, and the elimination of hope that is required by the left, that they don’t want their subjects thinking that even an after-life can be better.

In 1979, the Three-Self Church reemerged under the control of the Chinese government, which monitors its activities. Certain topics were off limits, including the Second Coming of Christ, the resurrection of the dead, the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the establishment of the kingdom of God. Teaching from books of prophecy that predict the end times — such as Daniel and Revelation — was prohibited. The church’s influence over teenagers and younger children was severely limited. The government oversees clergy education and retains the right to review sermons to assure compliance with government restrictions. (Emphasis mine)

You see, the nanny state wants to take the place of God.  And, apparently, the god of the nanny state is a rather jealous one.  People cannot look forward to a day when God will save them.  They cannot look forward, with hope, to a day that they will be in paradise.  Even more so, they cannot look forward to the day when their savior might return.  The nanny god will have no other God before him.  Any other faith, and especially the Christian God and Savior, puts the state in a subservient position to God.  For the “progressive,” obedience to the state is first and foremost, so either Christianity must change, or it must go.

I realize that I am not painting a pretty picture.  Things do look rather grim.  Of course, that too, is a goal for the left.  Eventually, our “progressives” want us to give up on freedom, and seek the cold, unloving embrace of big brother.  However, it doesn’t have to be that way.  Let’s take a look at recent history, and see what happened when people found hope.

After a national pattern of high taxation, failure, and appeasement, Ronald Reagan was elected President.  In a single day, our pattern of engagement with the Soviet Union changed.  After a decade of high taxes and stagflation, the American economy boomed.  After the “malaise” of the inept Carter administration, the American people gained more pride in our nation, as well as in it’s future.  After a nearly a decade of neglect, President Reagan modernized and strengthened our military.  And, more importantly, Reagan challenged the Soviet Union directly.  Our diplomacy turned from one of capitulation, to one of confrontation.  This confrontation is perhaps best exemplified by the statement President Reagan made in Berlin…

“Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.”

The meaning of this change in diplomacy was not lost on the people of Eastern Europe.  They heard of Reagan, through radio and more clandestine means.  And as Reagan’s military buildup pushed the socialist economies of the Soviet Bloc to the breaking point, the differences between free and socialist states became all the more clear.  The people started seeing through the lies that they were being told, and gained hope for the freedom and prosperity that are available in the US.

The rest, as they say, was history.  As the Socialist nations crumbled, their people simply stopped believing in the false claims of their leaders and socialism.  They had heard of the US, and of Reagan, and of the ideas that formed this nation.  With that hope, they found the bravery to risk the wrath of the state.  Then, the states fell.  It is well known that in many homes in Eastern Europe, hangs a picture of Ronald Reagan.  The left may deny his influence, but the people who lived under tyranny kept score on their own.

So where does that leave us now?  While we are close to losing our Republic, we are also able to achieve victory.  The real choice is with us.  Will we lose hope, and give up to the state, just as our would-be masters would want, or will we realize that we can hold on to our hope?  We have to realize that it’s up to us and it’s right now.  We need to take some pages out of Reagan’s book.  We need to confront the left strongly, and give alternatives.  We need to be bold and confident. We are right.  We have evidence, and we need to spread the hope that springs from individual freedom,  a Constitutional Republic, and a real free market.  We need to spread the hope that comes with the ability to change one’s lot in life.  If we do these, and it will be a long and difficult ride, we can free the minds of millions more our fellow citizens.  Then, our socialist system will collapse under it’s own failure.

I saw this video recently via a friend on Facebook, and thought I might share it here.  It is always possible that you might be attacked by an armed criminal, especially in a democratically controlled anti-gun area.  So, here is the video.

Of course, there are no guarantees, but this is better than having sudden onset inter-cranial lead poisoning.

Tapping the estimated $19.4 trillion dollars in private pension plans is every progressive socialist’s wet dream. I warned you Obama had his eye on your 401(k), and now a little noticed Supreme Court ruling just gave him the green light to seize your money.

The US Supreme Court ruled last week in the unanimous, 8-page decision in Tibble v. Edison holding that employers have a duty to protect workers in their 401(k) plans from mutual funds that are too expensive or perform poorly. That is simply astonishing since there is no constitutional requirement for even government to provide social benefits.

Remember when the Constitution provided a limit to government power?

Yeah, me neither.

Now the Constitution says the government has to protect you from your own bad investment decisions. Er, SCOTUS says the government has to protect you from your own bad investment decisions. The Constitution is silent on the matter. But, emanations of penumbras, or some such rubbish dontcha know.

Monday’s unanimous ruling sends a warning to employers that they now must improve their plans and it is now an obligation to project employees. This comes just in time for then the next step is government to seize private funds and prosecute employers who choose badly a fund manager. This fits perfectly just in time for the Obama administration’s next assault as they prepare a landmark change of its own by issuing rules requiring that financial advisers put the interest of customers ahead of their own. This creates a very gray area wide enough to justify public seizure of pension funds under management.

Read that again, in case you didn’t catch the part where the government is going to decide if your 401(k) is “good enough.”

Yet this decision is even deeper. It sets the stage to JUSTIFY government seizure of private pension funds to protect pensioners. When the economy turns down and things get messy, they are placing measures in place to eliminate money in and physical physical dimension, closing all tax loopholes, shutting down the world economy with FATCA, and preparing for the final straw of Economic Totalitarianism with the Supreme Court reversing its entire construction of the Constitution to impose a duty upon employers to ensure the 401K plans perform in a world where interest rates are going negative. You really cannot make up this level of insanity.

Oh, this level of insanity is just what a guy like Bernie Sanders ordered. It’s the nanny state, writ large.

Bureaucrats answerable to Sanders’ cohort Elizabeth Warren will now get to decide if your 401(k) plan cuts the mustard. They’ll arbitrarily set a cap on management fees, and punish any fund that exceeds their idea of a “reasonable” profit.

The punishment? Seizing the fund’s assets, and forcing your money into an investment in Treasury bonds.

Then you’re just another creditor to Obama, standing in line behind all the geezers on Social Security. Good luck getting paid, after all you’re also collecting Social Security, and sooner or later you’ve made enough money.

Between the court ruling and the Obama administration’s push for stronger fiduciary rules send a strong message that government can much easier seize the pension fund management industry of course to “protect the consumer.”

Who’s gonna protect us from the government?

You knuckleheads shoulda thought that through before you elected a committed Marxist to the presidency.

This has been a recurrent theme for several years.  It’s been simmering on the back burner, so to speak, but it continues to get some attention from time to time.  The issue is savings.  Whether it be your 401k, or your IRA, or even a savings account; the democrats has been eying them like a crackhead views their pipe.  Big government has wasted trillions on making more poor people, creating dependency, paying off contributors, punishing enemies, arming those that kill Christians, and trying to prop up their union buddies.  Now, after building up an unsustainable debt, they need another fix, and your savings is becoming mighty attractive to them.  Remember the old cartoons where two characters are starving?  remember how one character would look at another, and see a sandwich?  It’s kinda like that.  Doug Ross has the latest developments…

This didn’t just happen over night. The move to make this reality has been going on for quite some time. The first time it was mentioned publicly in any official capacity was at a 2010 Congressional hearing:

Democrats in the Senate on Thursday held a recess hearing covering a taxpayer bailout of union pensions and a plan to seize private 401(k) plans to more “fairly” distribute taxpayer-funded pensions to everyone.

Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee heard from hand-picked witnesses advocating the infamous “Guaranteed Retirement Account” (GRA) authored by Theresa Guilarducci.

In a nutshell, under the GRA system government would seize private 401(k) accounts, setting up an additional 5% mandatory payroll tax to dole out a “fair” pension to everyone using that confiscated money coupled with the mandated contributions. This would, of course, be a sister government ponzi scheme working in tandem with Social Security, the primary purpose being to give big government politicians additional taxpayer funds to raid to pay for their out-of-control spending.

You’d think that such an idea would be immediately dismissed by the American public, but it has only gained steam since, as evidenced by a 2012 hearing held at the U.S. Labor Department:

The hearing, held in the Labor Department’s main auditorium, was monitored by NSC staff and featured a line up of left-wing activists including one representative of the AFL-CIO who advocated for more government regulation over private retirement accounts and even the establishment of government-sponsored annuities that would take the place of 401k plans.

“This hearing was set up to explore why Americans are not saving as much for their retirement as they could,” explains National Seniors Council National Director Robert Crone, “However, it is clear that this is the first step towards a government takeover. It feels just like the beginning of the debate over health care and we all know how that ended up.”

…Such “reforms” would effectively end private retirement accounts in America, Crone warns.

A few years ago the government of the United States of America nationalized nearly 1/6th of our economy when they took over the health care system with forced mandates. In the process they essentially took control of $1.6 trillion in yearly industry revenues.

But that’s nothing compared to private savings. The total amount of retirement assets in America, including 401k, IRA and savings accounts is around $21 trillion. With our national debt coincidentally approaching the same, the government sees big money and potentially a way out of our country’s fiscal disaster.

This will start voluntarily with the MyRA and other state-sponsored programs. But when not enough Americans are making it their patriotic duty to turn over their funds to their government, they’ll mandate compliance with the stroke of a pen just as they did with the Patient Affordable Care Act.

This is spot on.  And, by the way, the excerpt is a small part of a much larger post.  I’d advise you to go over there to read the rest.

As you look at the MyRA scam.  Think of these…

1.  The Income Tax was only going to be on the rich, and at a small percentage.  Look at your next pay-stub, and see how true that is.

2.  Social Security funds were going to be kept separate from all other government funds?  Just remember that what you pay in to SS goes right out to fund the government, and interest on the debt.  As for the “lock box?”  It’s full of worthless government IOU’s.

Anything the government offers now will be changed in order to rip you off.  They’ll say some thing to get you to buy in, like, “if you like your plan…”  Then, once they have the power, and your savings, they’ll do whatever they want with it, and you’ll be left will a meaningless IOU.  Then, when you retire, you’ll find that you get nothing, because some democrat constituent group needed your hard earned savings more than you do.

And, then, you’ll regret your votes for democrats.

A little over a year ago I had posted  More taxes … IRA’s and 401k retirement accounts are soon to be ripped off as well.  In that post I mentioned … the government is strongly considering pilfering the retirement accounts of all Americans. At the end of 2010, there was an estimated 17.5 trillion dollars in United States retirement assets, including 3.1 trillion in 401k’s and 4.7 trillion in IRA’s.  If anyone thinks for a second the government doesn’t have its eye on that, they are living in a fantasy world.

In the near future, the government may be planning to take over your  401(k) and Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA) and managing it on its own. Why, you ask? Well, mainly because there is an unprecedented  trillion-dollar deficit that needs to be taken care of.

So this is the deal: somewhere out there is a major deficit that is  struggling to lower despite the government’s efforts. However, there are tons of 401(k) and IRA accounts floating around with  tons of money (well, at least what’s left after the financial crisis).

So now, according to BusinessWeek, the Treasury and Labor departments are asking  for public comment on “the conversion of 401(k) savings and Individuals  Retirement Accounts into annuities  or other steady payment streams.”

How Would the Conversion Work?

Basically, in order for the conversion to work, the government would take  over you retirement savings. In return, it would promise to pay  you some type of monthly benefit in your retirement years.

One suggestion from Teresa Ghilarducci of the New School for Social Research in  New York, who was a part of hearings last fall held by the House Education and  Labor Committee, was to give all workers “a $600 annual inflation-adjusted  subsidy from the U.S. government.”

In exchange, the workers would be required to invest 5 percent of their pay  into a guaranteed retirement account that would be administered by the Social  Security Administration.

However, this guaranteed retirement account would actually be an investment  in U.S.  Treasury bonds that would go toward paying down the huge  trillion-dollar budget deficits.

Well, that was written four years ago. The liberal mind set .. “Hey, if the government was going to take your retirement it would have already happened!” prevails in very intellectually challenged people. But now that it’s upon us and actually being set in motion, the liberals will simply say that the government will provide a better retirement system with your money than what you have right now, so it’s okay.

During his 65 minute State of the Union drivel Barack made some notable statements of which people should have been paying attention. I know, that’s extremely difficult if you’re like me and can’t stand to hear the sound of his voice for more than … oh … 60 seconds. Most of what he said was the same old stuff just a different day. But then he started talking about how he found a way to bilk the American public out of more of their money by setting up a government run retirement program. This program essentially will not be voluntary. I’m sure it will force employers to pull a percentage of your pay check to buy into “your future”.

Now, I’m not sure why the government thinks they need to force the public into some kind of retirement account beyond the fact that they want more of your money. Eventually, soon enough, they’ll grab the existing $17 TRILLION in private retirement accounts and “invest” it wisely into government run “nest eggs”.

Obama Fires the First Shot on Your Retirement Account

Dear Reader,

Did you watch the State of the Union address?

I didn’t, because, well… I didn’t want to.

But I did read the transcript the morning after. And boy is there a doozy in there. A lot of news outlets are talking about it. But very few dissected Obama’s tricky language enough to understand its significance.

I’m talking about his unveiling of the “MyRA,” which is ostensibly a new retirement account for working-class Americans. Sounds innocent enough.

But read a little closer, and… well, rather than put words in his mouth, let’s let the skilled orator tell us about the MyRA himself, word for word from his State of the Union address.

Take it away, Barack. (His words, verbatim, are in bold.)

“Let’s do more to help Americans save for retirement. Today, most workers don’t have a pension. A Social Security check often isn’t enough on its own.”

Can’t argue with that. The personal savings rate has been declining since the 1970s. Reversing that trend would help get America back on track to prosperity. Tell me more.

“And while the stock market has doubled over the last five years, that doesn’t help folks who don’t have 401(k)s.”

Good point. It’s hard for lower-income earners to save enough money to invest in the stock market. Helping them access stocks is a great idea, provided they enlist a competent advisor.

Granted, it’s not a perfect solution. But allocating a portion of one’s savings to stocks is smart—certainly better than allowing inflation to bleed one’s savings account to death.

“That’s why, tomorrow, I will direct the Treasury to create a new way for working Americans to start their own retirement savings: MyRA.”

Actually, Mr. President, working Americans already have access to IRAs. You’re giving the impression that lower-income Americans don’t have access to tax-advantaged retirement accounts, but that’s not true at all. Even if my employer doesn’t sponsor a plan, I can start one on my own. Anyone under the age of 70½ can open a self-directed IRA, and plenty of brokers allow people to enroll with as little as a $500 initial contribution.

So where are you going with this?

“It’s a new savings bond that encourages folks to build a nest egg.”

Whoa, hang on there. You were just talking about the stock market. How do savings bonds help the average Joe tap into stocks?

“MyRA guarantees a decent return with no risk of losing what you put in.”

Stop it. First of all, bonds neither guarantee a decent return nor protect people from losing their principal. In fact, with interest rates still near historic lows, buying bonds today and holding them for the long term virtually guarantees they’ll lose money.

Second, a bond is not a one-sided transaction. Whoever issues the bond is borrowing money from the buyer. The US government would be issuing these bonds, so that would mean… wait a minute, you wouldn’t be trying to covertly confiscate workers’ earnings to fund the government, would you?

Remember when President Obama said “there comes a point when a person has earned enough”? Well, it should be a surprise that he also feels that people have saved more than they need for retirement. Mr. Obama has given new meaning to the word “arrogance”.

With this scandal a day administration, it is no wonder some of their plans to get their hands on more of your money slip under the radar.

On Aril 12, 2013, the Wall Street Journal wrote:

How many times have you read financial-advice stories lecturing you to max-out on your IRA, save as much as you can in your 401(k), and even pay taxes now to change your regular IRA into a Roth IRA that will be tax-free until you die?

Well, be careful how much you save.

A lot of job-switchers are ignoring what may be one of the best options to get the most out of their retirement: Moving their savings into their new employer’s 401(k). MarketWatch’s Jim Jelter explains the benefits.

That’s the message in President Obama’s budget for fiscal 2014, which for the first time proposes to cap the amount Americans can save in these tax-sheltered investment vehicles. The White House explanation is that some people have accumulated “substantially more than is needed to fund reasonable levels of retirement saving.” So Mr. Obama proposes to “limit an individual’s total balance across tax-preferred accounts to an amount sufficient to finance an annuity of not more than $205,000 per year in retirement, or about $3 million for someone retiring in 2013.”

On April 14, 2013, the Independent Sentinel wrote:

THEY ARE COMING FOR YOU NEXT, make no mistake about that!. They already proposed it back in 2008. The government is on the hunt for more money to support its spending problem. President Obama wants more “revenue” – “taxes” – so he can make more “investments” as he spreads the wealth around.

You need to be afraid, very afraid!

Americans have $17.5 trillion in savings with 25% of it in IRA’s. It is a future source of revenue for the government if they can get their hands on it.

President Barack Obama’s Fiscal Year 2013 budget plan estimated that retirement tax deductions taken by employers and individuals over the next five years add up to $429 billion in “lost” tax revenue. The government believes your savings is their lost revenue.

See how that works? Because you take a legal tax deduction, the government is getting screwed. Never mind that the original idea was to give citizens an incentive to save. Further along in the Independent Sentinel article we find this:

In 2008, Obama first proposed a Guaranteed Retirement Account (GRA) for all, which would require businesses to offer automatic IRA’s. Included would be a mandate to invest 10% in US Treasury bonds which is nothing but another sneaky way of funding the profligate national government.

Obama’s FY 2013 budget plan resuscitates the planned theft of savings with “Secure Choice” and “GRA’s” which would mandate 5% to 6% investment in government-controlled pension funds. Your savings will be invested in government pensions in addition to all the taxes you already pay for these pensions!

The scheme would go like this. The government would deposit $600 into your GRA and each worker would in turn deposit 5% of each paycheck into the account. In return, the government will magically guarantee a 3% tax-deferred return on these assets from who knows where because you know there will be no lockbox and they will spend the money just as they have with social security.

Anyone refusing to cooperate will suffer additional penalties and taxes on any withdrawal of their savings from retirement funds. They would be mandated into investing a minimum amount in US Treasury debt.

That’s right kids, they government is eyeing your 401(k), IRA, or 403(b) with great envy.  And, as for the title, since Stacey is talking blog shtick, I thought I’d borrow from his well, which is deep with all sorts of goodness.  

But, back to the seriousness.  There has been rumblings about the government taking over all private retirement accounts for some time.  Apparently, the democrats just can’t let a big pool of money sit there in private hands-it must be controlled, and redistributed, bythe kind hands of government.  Bob Belvedere at  TCOTS has more…

The Editors at Investor’s Business Daily published an excellent editorial yesterday [tip of the fedora to Memeorandum] on the coming attempt by the national government to seize control of retirement accounts, like the 401(k).

A highlight:

President Obama’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, for instance, proposed lowering the cap on the amount workers could place in their 401(k)s without incurring taxes.

And nearly three years ago, Newt Gingrich and Peter Ferrara wrote on these pages about the Treasury and Labor departments “asking for public comment on ‘the conversion of 401(k) savings and Individual Retirement Accounts into annuities or other steady payment streams.’”

“In plain English,” said Gingrich and Ferrara, “the idea is for the government to take your retirement savings in return for a promise to pay you some monthly benefit in your retirement years.”

More than 60 million American workers have a 401(k) or similar — 403(b) or 457(b) — plan. But taxing these accounts or lowering the amount that can be contributed to them tax-free would do little to close the deficit and cut the debt.

Hmmm, let’s take a look at the following a bit more closely…

That sounds rather familiar, doesn’t it?  I mean, how does money get taken from me in exchange for payments when I’m retired?  Oh, that’s it, Social Security.  Well, I never expect to see a dime from that government ponzi scheme, which is why I have a 401(k).  However, if they government does to my 401(k) what they are doing to Social Security, should ever expect a single dime of that either?

I’m thinking retirement is going to be very cold and hungry.  Then again, IPAB would probably kill me off buy that time anyway.

  • The Battle of Mohacs opened with the refusal of the Hungarian king to accept Islam and surrender his land and self-respect to the Jihadi wolves. The earlier lessons of the experience which the Bulgars, Romanians, Croats and Serbs had had at the ruthless and cruel hands of the Jihadis was not entirely lost on the Hungarians. • Vienna 1683 a.d.
  • Three hundred years ago, in the summer of 1683, the main army of the Ottoman Empire, a large and well-equipped force, besieged Vienna. The town was nearing the end of its ability to resist: but just as the capture of Vienna was becoming only a matter of time – not more than a week away, at most – an army came to its rescue. On September 12th, in an open battle before Vienna, the Ottoman army was defeated, and the city escaped pillage and destruction. (Source)

It may be accurate to blame Barack Hussein Obama for the woes that this country is facing, but the man behind the curtain, the leftist version of a Karl Rove is solely more responsible for getting him elected than any person on the planet. Since the “historic” ascendancy and 2008 election of Obama, it has come out that Axelrod is more than just a paid political hack, more than just an “adviser.” As Paul Kengor writes in the American Spectator:

“He is imager of the image and narrator of the narrative. No single person is more responsible for making Barack Obama president. Come November 2008, it was nothing short of a stunning change for America, a genuinely historical feat the man known as Ax hopes to repeat in November 2012.

And it helps that the two—story-maker and story, composer and theme—think alike. “You know, he and I share a basic worldview,” Obama told the New York Times. “I trust his basic take on what the country should be and where we need to move toward—not just on specific policy but how politics should be able to draw on our best and not our worst.”

Born in New York in 1955, Axelrod says of his parents that they were, “your classic New York leftist Democrats.” But that doesn’t really do justice to the activities of his mother, Myril Bennett Axelrod. She worked for an extremely political newspaper, the liberal New York daily, the PM.

Existing only from 1940 to 1948, the problem at the PM was infiltration by communists pushing the “Stalinist line.” One such person was a confirmed soviet spy, I.F. Stone, among many others.

Axelrod followed in his mother’s footsteps and began writing a leftist political column for a local Chicago newspaper, the Hyde Park Herald. Following his father’s suicide, young Axelrod caught the attention of two men who would be instrumental in guiding his political leanings and by extension, Barack Hussein Obama’s as well.

Don Rose and David Canter began to mentor Axelrod and this brought him to the attention of the Chicago Communist Party USA. While Rose’s involvement with CP-USA has not been established, Canter’s communist activities are well documented. His father served time in jail for radical communist activities and eventually became the secretary of the Boston Communist Party. He ran for Governor of Massachusetts on the Communist Party ticket in 1930.

Harry Canter’s devotion to the communist party earned him an audience with Stalin in 1932 – he brought along his entire family, including his son, and future Axelrod mentor, David Canter. They stayed in Moscow until 1937, when they abruptly moved back to America, locating in Chicago and the CP-USA. Here Harry caught the attention of the Democratic controlled Congress in 1944.

Harry’s grandson Evan says, “He was a Communist. He was involved in the Party, as was my father.” Evan’s father is of course the above mentioned Axelrod mentor, David Canter.

David, like his father also caught the attention of Congress. He was called in to testify in 1962 before the Democrat-run House Committee on Un-American Activities, where he refused to answer questions about past or present membership in the Communist Party. Canter pleaded the Fifth Amendment from start to finish. Among the activities he was being investigated for was the riots during the 1968 Democratic National Convention. His publishing house was said by one source to have been a “great help” to one of the communist publications that had agitated and disrupted the convention: “We wouldn’t be anywhere without him,” said the source.

His partner, Don Rose was knee-deep in subversive activities as well. He was a member of the National Mobilization Committee to End the War in Vietnam. This group, of course, was the ultimate Who’s Who of Sixties radicals, and thoroughly penetrated by communist ringleaders. Rose did press work for the Mobilization Committee and for Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). Yes, the same SDS that gave birth to Bill Ayers’ domestic communistic terrorist group, the Weather Underground.

Sensing a pattern here?

There is much more to the Axelrod/Obama story than what I have related here, but in the spirit of brevity, I shall summarize. You can always follow the links at the end of my article to read the details for yourself. One small tidbit is the fact that Axelrod got his job at the Chicago Tribune via a glowing letter of recommendation by Don Rose. This led to Axelrod’s work in political campaigns such as Chicago Mayor, Harold Washington and the bow tie wearing Paul Simon.

Now does all this history mean that David Axelrod is a Communist?

No.

But what it shows, which is a very important point to remember is that he, like Barack Hussein Obama gravitated towards the extreme left, whether it was the Progressive Left, the Socialist Left or even the Communist Left. These statist ideological memes helped to form their opinion of America, and let us not forget that President Obama himself said of David Axelrod,  “You know, he and I share a basic worldview. Gor Khan, a 37 year old Klingon working at a local suicide prevention hotline has been fired after it was discovered that his “call disposition” actually led to suicides.

“I blame myself for hiring him” said supervisor Greg Hughes.  “He seemed like he really wanted to help.  But the poor guy just didn’t have the right bedside manner, so to speak.”

After being hired, Khan underwent the mandatory one-day training where he  learned how to deal with potential suicides and then was given a cubicle to begin work.

“The trouble began with his first call” said Hughes.  A transcript of that call has been provided to this reporter:

Khan:  Suicide prevention hotline.  How may I assist you?

Caller:  Hello.  I’m really confused and frightened.  I lost my job and my wife left me.  I have nothing to live for.

Khan:  Today is a good day to die!

Caller:  What?

Khan: You Regulan bloodworm.  You have no honor.

“I cut him some slack.  I figured it was his first call and maybe he just needed to some more practice.  So I took him out to lunch and gave him a pep talk.”

However Khan’s second call revealed that the pep talk did not work.

Khan:  Suicide prevention hotline.  How may I assist you?

Caller:  I’m going to end it all man.  Don’t try to talk me out of it. I have a gun and I’m going to do it!

Khan:  You miserable petaQ!   Your mother has a smooth forehead.

Caller:  I…what?  Seriously don’t try to stop me I’m going to end it all.

Khan:  Go ahead.  If you cannot do it yourself you miserable spineless human I’ll get my bat’leth and finish the job. [Sound of gunshot is heard on tape]

After the second call Khan was escorted out of the building by security.

“It’s a shame” said Hughes. “I really thought he’d work out.  He seemed empathetic and he was a wizard at using Excel spreadsheets.”

As for Khan, he landed on his feet and immediately acquired a job working the Help Desk at a local television station.

Anchor:  Hey, I’m going on the air in five minutes but I’ve forgotten my password.  Can you reset it for me?

Khan:  You incompetent To-pah!

Anchor:  What?  Hey, is that a bat’leth?  Oh my god no!

Even though he’s waiting until after the mid-term elections to issue his amnesty-granting executive order, President Obama is hardly allowing his administration to sit idly by on this issue.

Since the federal government announced its plan to place illegal immigrants in communities all across the United States weeks ago, Americans have been furious. It’s all part of President Obama’s plan to grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants.

It’s frustrating enough to hear that these immigrants are being placed all over the U.S. and supported by our government, but it’s even more upsetting when they’re being dumped in your town.

Public opposition to his plans have made Obama work in the shadows on this.

Residents have been fighting back against this plan, doing whatever they can to stand up for their own rights and the rights of their children.

And Obama knows we don’t want our towns overrun. He knows people are angry, and that’s why he has been hiding the locations of where he’s putting these people. And it’s not just the thousands of illegal children that have crossed our southern border – there are a large amount of illegal immigrants with criminal histories that have been detained by our government, known as criminal aliens.

People on the right complain about establishment Republicans and I’ve seen Senator Chuck Grassley’s name on the “RINO” lists, but I think in this case, we owe him a debt of gratitude.

President Obama has decided to place them in our communities too. That’s why when Senator Chuck Grassley, ranking member of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, got a hold of a list of the locations where the illegal immigrants are being placed, he released it to the public.

The Department of Homeland Security released a list of 134 zip codes across the United States where illegal immigrants with criminal records have been placed. Here are a list of the zip codes:

The letter is a response to Senator Grassley’s inquiry regarding the immigrants, and claims that the Department does have the right to release these immigrants as a result of a Supreme Court ruling. The letter also includes a list of detention facilities – organized by state – where criminal aliens have been placed. Check the list to see if there are any in your community.

We are extremely grateful to Senator Grassley for releasing this list to the public. It’s a matter of public safety and security, and we have the right to know when criminal aliens are being placed in our own communities. We encourage you to closely read this letter and determine if you will personally be affected by the placement of these criminal aliens.

As for yours truly, I am working on various projects, my career, my Church, as well as training for ministry.  As regular readers will recall, I hung it up over a year ago after realizing that our fight is as much a spiritual one as a political one.  In most respects, we aren’t fighting a competing political philosophy-we are fighting evil.  And, since evil lies and cheats, we are losing.  We’ve been trying to change the world legislatively, when I think we really need to pray, repent, and win souls.  I am actively pursuing those ends, and hope to do even more.

That leads to the question, what of this place?  I poured a little over five years into it. Don was the first contributor back in 2009, and took over full time for a little over a year, so a lot of keystrokes went into trying to tell the truth about things.  Neither Don nor myself can see just hitting the “delete button” on six years of intense effort.  So, I’m going to leave it up as a museum of sorts.  It won’t go away, even though it won’t be active.  There might be sporadic new posts, but it will be an mostly inactive site.

For the next week or so, I will be compiling a “greatest hits collection of posts,” and maybe we’ll even do one more Useful Idiot of the Month Poll.  I’ll do one last post at the end, and turn out the lights.

Thank you very much, and God bless our veterans. My wife Heidi and I are honored to be with you today.

We gather here today to remember the heroes who have kept us free.

Each marker here represents a story, some told and some untold. Heroes who span generations.

Heroes like the Honorable Albert Thomas, who served as a Lieutenant in World War I, and then went on to represent Houston for nearly 30 years in Congress, and in large part, played a key role in the reason we stand on this green today.

Medal of Honor Recipients like First Lieutenant Raymond Knight, who completed more than 80 combat missions in World War II.

And First Sergeant David McNerney, who volunteered to serve a third tour in Vietnam.

In one particularly harrowing attack, more than half of his platoon was killed or wounded.

Even after being injured, he fearlessly led a counterattack, saving men who were in the grip of their enemies, and climbed atop a tree to guide friendly aircraft to a safe landing.

These are just a few of the patriots who have given their utmost for liberty.

The men and women buried here have not simply known freedom; they have embodied it.

More than 30,000 Texans have lost their lives in defense of this nation.

As James Garfield said in the 1868 Decoration Day Address – what would come to be known as the very first Memorial Day – “For love of country they accepted death, and thus resolved all doubts, and made immortal their patriotism and their virtue.”

It is breathtaking to think of all the souls under this green earth who laid down their lives so that we might be free.

Their sacrifice is the very sapling of liberty.

Today Heidi and I brought our two precious little girls, Caroline and Catherine, to be with us today, and as we together lay flags on the graves of heroes, may the stripes of those flags remind us of the blood shed so that freedom shines forth for all generations.

So that my daughters, and your sons and daughters, and grandchildren, and their grandchildren may always enjoy the blessings of this great nation. Today, our hearts are filled with gratitude for their bravery. May we never forget it.

As putrid Democrats continue to promulgate their lie-filled “Republican war on women” campaign theme, they sit by ignoring that the real war on women is perpetrated by Islam. Another reminder of where the real hate for women emanates is in a survey showing that fully 92 percent of married women in Egypt are forced to undergo genital mutilation.

If you are unaware of what Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is, be prepared to be horrified. Euphemistically called “female circumcision” by liberals who want to obviate what it really is, it is in fact the utter destruction of the female pleasure centers in the vagina so that a woman can never gain pleasure or have an orgasm from sexual intercourse.

Many Muslims from Africa to the Middle East think that women are disgusting beasts who should not be allowed to enjoy sex. So, to keep girls pure in the eyes of The “Prophet” Muhammad, in their pre-teen stage, these inhuman Muslims rip out a girls’ clitoris and sew her vagina shut leaving but a small hole for urination.

Then, when the girl is married off, often times at the age of nine or ten, their “husband” gets the joy of jamming a knife into her vagina and slicing open the sewn shut vagina so that he can consummate the “marriage” with sex.

These scumbag Muslims excuse all this as a “cultural” necessity and a paean to Islam.

This is what the Muslim ISIS terror forces in Iraq have ruled must be done to all women last year.

Now we find that the backwards, savage country of Egypt forces most of its women to undergo this barbaric attack on their most private parts.

A new survey finds that a shocking 92 percent of married womenin Egypt has been forced to withstand this horrible, anti-woman procedure.

Where is Hillary Clinton to decry this true war on women? Where is Sandra Fluke to raise the alarm? Where is MSNBC’s manly Rachel Maddow to scream about this outrage?

Well, they are all worried about “Hobby Lobby” and telling their fans lies abut how company owners who don’t want to pay for abortion-inducing drugs are being “just like” Islamic terrorists.

The fact that so-called “feminists” are utterly silent on this issue is proof that they don’t care about “women,” they care only abut liberal politics.

If you are a liberal and prattle on about the “Republican war on women,” you are promulgating a lie. You can be excused for this if yo were misled, but only if you learn the truth and accept it. Otherwise, like every other extreme leftist, you are a dangerous, anti-American liar. There really is just no other way to say it.

Regardless, FGM is how Islam views women. They are dirty, disgusting, unclean, cattle that have no humanity and don’t even deserve to enjoy sexual intercourse. If this isn’t a real war on woman, what is?

Sanity prevailed last night. Marylin Zuniga, the teacher who forced her third grade class to write “get well” letters to convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu Jamal, is now unemployed.

That should be the end of this sordid affair. Except Zuniga plans to sue.

Yeah, he really said that.

No, nobody believed him.

Marylin Zuniga is, and ought to be, radioactive.

But this is Essex County. And in Essex County, it’s like Bizarro World, only weirder.

The freaking president of our county Freeholder Board is siding with a cop-killer? Did I read that right? Because that’s what it looks like. Marylin Zuniga worships a cop-killer. And the, ahem, Honorable Britnee Timberlake stands hand-in-hand with Marylin Zuniga.

That’s messed up.

Where did the Democrats dig up this clown? The Activists R Us rent-a-whackjob division? She was only elected to her first term last year and already she’s president of the board. That’s gotta be some kind of record, even for us, where “the fix” is always in.

Anybody got the guts to ask Joe D what he thinks about his newest henchwoman’s antics? Because I can’t believe she landed where she is without his blessing. So I gotta wonder if he’s secretly on the #FreeMumia bandwagon too.

I’m appalled. And all of you knee-jerk Democrats who voted for Britnee Timberlake are the ones who ought to be ashamed of yourselves. You really picked a winner. Thanks. Thanks a whole lot.
