MMP has combined the original ASL modules, Code of Bushido and Gung Ho!, into one monster package. Rising Sun includes the entire Japanese, Chinese, and United States Marine Corps orders of battle; a 2nd edition of Chapter G, which covers the unique rules needed to play ASL in the Pacific Theater of Operations and incorporates all the current errata; and an updated Chapter H for the Japanese and Chinese vehicles and ordnance and for landing craft. Also included are 32 updated scenarios, combining the original Code of Bushido and Gung Ho! scenarios with 16 out-of-print PTO scenarios that originally appeared in the pages of the GENERAL, the ASL Annual, and the ASL Journal. The package is rounded out by seven 8˝×22˝ geomorphic mapboards (boards 34-39 and 47) and dozens of overlays, all updated to match the latest style of boards. La Bataille de Leipzig 1813 Coming Fall 2013:

In celebrating the 199th Anniversary of La Bataille de Leipzig (often called the Battle of Nations), Marshal Enterprises announces plans to release La Bataille de Leipzig 1813 this Fall. The game will recreate the vast southern portions of La Bataille de Leipzig on October 16, 1813 in which Napoleon fought desperately to defend his Confederation of the Rhine from the combined forces of the Sixth Coalition (Austria; Prussia; Russia and assorted German states); whose Albion-oiled noose was poised to strangle the last vestiges of the French Revolution from Europe.

There are four 22 X 34 four-color maps with such Saxon towns and villages as Wachau; Markleesberg; Liebertwolkwitz; Auenhain and Gulden-Gossa, which were the scenes of much fierce fighting in the Battle of Nations. The forces are represented by over 1200 four-color counters and 300 informational markers. The new game, which will be published for sale to the public prior to the bicentennial of the Battle of Leipzig in October 2013, will be the first for ME to be sold directly to the wargaming community since the 1980’s. Connections Conference 2013:

The Connections 2013 conference will be held 22-25 July in Dayton Ohio, near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. This is the only national event dedicated specifically to professional military wargaming. Organized and chaired since its beginning in 1993 by (now retired) Air Force COL Matt Caffrey. The theme for 2013 is: “Enhancing Wargaming Support to Budget Decisions.” Given the current and future uncertainty over US Department of Defense budgets, this is a timely theme indeed. Connections is open to all contributors to the field of professional wargaming: military, government, defense contractor, academic, and recreational. It is an unclassified event. Many of the attendees are recreational wargamers in their spare time, but the emphasis of the conference is on discussion of activity and issues in professional wargaming, from the military, commercial and academic perspectives.
