A Healthy Alternative to Fried Vegetables for January

It’s a New Year and that likely means that a lot of people made New Year Resolutions to use their time more wisely or to lose weight. We want to encourage everyone to start using their kitchens for both. Gathering the people closest to you and have a dinner party where everyone helps out in the kitchen or taking lessons with friends on low fat cooking can be allow you to spend your time with the people you love and still make better diet choices. In the meantime, we wanted to share this quick and healthy recipe we found on Recipe.com:

Ingredients:

Nonstick spray coating
¼cup fine dry bread crumbs
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
1/8 teaspoon paprika
2 cups ¼ inch thick zucchini slices
2 tablespoons reduced calorie Italian salad dressing

Directions

Spray a cold cookie sheet with nonstick spray coating. Set aside.

In a 9-inch pie plate stir together bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, and paprika until well mixed. In a medium mixing bowl place zucchini, onion rings, or cauliflower. Drizzle vegetables with salad dressing; toss until coated. Then, roll vegetables in crumb mixture until coated. Place the coated vegetables in a single layer on the prepared cookie sheet.

Bake vegetables in a 450 degree F oven for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden. Makes 4 (1/2-cup) servings.

When renovating your home, it is important to know exactly what the most important thing is that you would like to improve. While it is more difficult to remedy something like a lack of natural lighting, there are a lot of things that you can change to make your kitchen and your home better.

During your renovation, consider investing in high-performance appliances. In ovens, we love convection options as well as ovens that will clean themselves.
Consider integrating your fridge. It will give your kitchen a completely different look if everything is uniform and you don’t have a less than appealing fridge (because, lets face it, refrigerators are rarely fashionable) taking up a big chunk of the room. The only possible downside will be that your friends have to open and close cabinets until they find the fridge!
When you aren’t sure, always pick stainless steel. It’s a classic that doesn’t look like it will be diminishing in popularity any time soon.
