The Discover® Open Road Card is one of the notable rewards credit cards that are issued by Discover. This is specially designed for people who want to get cash rewards when they spend their money on gas expenses and auto maintenance. Such is perfect for people who are always on the road. However, only those that enjoy a very good credit rating can avail of this prime offer.

This credit card has a very excellent offer for those who spend a great deal on gas purchases. Through this reward program, the card holders are entitled to get a full 5% cash rebate rate on all their expenses spent on gas and auto maintenance. In addition to that, the card holder can also earn up to 1% cash back rate on general expenses and a 0.25% cash back rate on purchases made for merchandises and goods from selected warehouse clubs and stores that are affiliated with Discover.

Just like other Discover credit cards, the cash rebate system for general purchases made through this card will follow a tiered structure. If you spend no more than $1,500 on general purchases every year, your cash rebate rate will amount to 0.25%. However, if your total purchase amount exceeds $1,500 but is less than $3,000, your rate will go up to 0.50%. Lastly, if your total purchases for the year exceeds $3,000, you will then receive a full 1% cash rebate on all the money that you spent. There is no limit as to the total amount of cash rebates that a card holder can earn in a year. Moreover, you can redeem your cash rebates anytime you want to, for as long as your credit account is still active and in use.

In addition to the splendid cash back benefits, the Discover Open Road Credit card also offers a double reward program. Basically, if the card holders trade their cash rebates in exchange for gift certificate, they will get double of the cash rebate amount from the affiliated companies and merchant partners of the Discover Card program.

The Discover Open Road credit card also entices the aspiring card holders with a very attractive introductory offer. The card offers a Zero introductory interest rate on the purchases made during the first six months of use. However, the rate will have a variable rate of as low as 10.99% or as high as 18.99% after the initial six months. Also, there will be a Zero percent balance transfer rate that will last for twelve months. The rates will vary depending on the credit rating of the aspiring cardholder.

There is no other credit card that motivates you to pay on time other than the Discover Motiva credit card. If you want a card that will provide you with excellent rewards if you make timely payments for your large purchases using a credit card, then this credit card is definitely your right match. This card will give you the perfect amount of cash rebates that you want as well as the privileges that you deserve. However, only those who have an excellent credit rating can apply for this card.

The prime benefits of getting the Discover® Motiva Card is its cash rebate features. It has a tiered rebate structure. If your total purchases amounts to $1,500, you will get a 0.25% cash rebate. For the succeeding $1,500 that you spend, you will then automatically earn a 0.50% cash back rate. And, if your annual expenses using the card will exceed $3,000, you will get a higher rebate rate of 1%. However, you should keep in mind that your rebate percentage will only apply after you spend the minimum amount.

In addition to the cash rebates that are computed on an annual basis, the Discover Motiva credit card will also maximize your savings since you can get 0.25% cash rebate on all your purchases that you make with selected affiliated shops and merchant partners of Discover, regardless of the total amount of your expenses.

Aside from the mentioned rebates, Discover® Motiva credit card also provides its user with more cash back features every time they shop at the online retailers that are affiliated with Discover. By shopping online, the cardholders can get a cash back rate of anywhere between 5% and 20%. This rate depends on what you buy and where you purchased it. Another good thing about this card is the fact that your rebates will not expire for as long as your credit card account exists. There are also no limits with regards to the amount of cash rebates that you can earn over a certain period of time.

The Discover Motiva credit card provides its card holders with additional rewards if they pay their bills on time. If you can make timely payments for six consecutive times, you will automatically gain a credit reward that will be charged on your next bill. This credit reward will be in the form of a Pay-On-Time Bonus, which is equal to your interest rate for a month. Such reward can be gained twice every year.

This credit card also has no annual membership fees. As for the interest rate, the initial APR will be 3.9% for the introductory period that will last for six months. After such, you will then get a very reasonable APR that can be as low as 10.99% or as high as 18.99%. Usually, this rate will depend on your credit rating.

The Miles by Discover Credit card is one of the prime travel rewards credit card that is offered by the Discover company. It is extremely perfect for people who love traveling. However, just like other notable travel reward credit cards, this offer is only for those who have excellent credit ratings.

One of the prime offers of the Mile by Discover Credit card is its unique Miles formula. This credit card allows its cardholders to earn one mile for every one dollar that you spend using the card. Moreover, if the cardholder uses the card to make travel purchases, he can earn double miles for the first $3,000 spent.

What’s good about the Discover Miles program is the fact that it offers no restrictions when it comes to booking your flights and travels. With this card, you don’t have to use the affiliated or the in house travel agent of the credit card company. Instead, you are entitled to make your own bookings and earn reward points without restrictions. You are allowed to utilize the services of any travel agent of your choice – both online and offline – in booking your travel ticket.

Just like other credit cards, the Discover Miles credit card also has an introductory offer. For the first six months of your card use, you will have a Zero percent interest rate matched with a Zero percent balance transfer rate. After the introductory period however, your purchase APR will have a variable rate. It can be as low as 10.99% or as high as 18.99%. The cash advance APR is a lot higher at a rate of 20.99% to 23.99%. There is also a Default rate APR of as much as 28.99%. However, whenever you miss the monthly repayment due date, you can pay your balance in full without the need to pay for the interest rates for as long as you have not exceeded the grace period of twenty five days.

After the introductory offer, the balance transfer fee will also increase to 3% for every balance transfer that you make within the range of $10 to $75. You will also have to pay for a fee of $15.00 for credit card balances of up to $500 and $39.00 for those over $500, if you ever exceed your credit card limit. In addition to that, the same amount of fees will be applied every time you make late payments. That is why if you are planning to get this card, you should make it a point to pay on time and in full on a monthly basis.

The Miles by Discover Credit card does not have annual membership fees as well. In addition to that, this travel reward credit card provides its customers with platinum benefits that are composed of an auto rental insurance, internet- account related services, and a travel accident insurance that can amount to as much as $500,000.

The Discover More Credit card is one of the most unique cash back credit cards offered by credit card companies these days. Its rebate formula is quite tempting as well. It has a tiered structure for its cash back features. This, however, will be based on your expenditure on an annual basis.

Through the tiered rebate formula, you will get 0.25% for the first $1,500 that you spend every year. For the addition $1,500, you will get a 0.50% rebate. If you spend more than $3,000, you will get a 1% rebate, and if you spend more than $4,500, you will earn up to 2% as your cash rebate. These rebates can be redeemed anytime you may want to as the cash backs earned will not expire.

Aside from the usual cash rebate rate, the Discover More Credit card also offers a higher cash rebate for purchases made with its affiliate shops and retailers. For purchases made from Ace Hardware, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Restoration Hardware, SHERWIN-WILLIAMS, Smith & Hawken, The Container Store, Lowes, Menard, Pier 1 Imports, The Home Depot, and more, you can earn a cash rebate of 5%.

You can also double the value of your cash rebates if you opt to trade them for gift certificates from the merchant partners of the Discover More program. That just means that if you have a cash rebate of $50, you will then get a gift certificate that will amount to a $100.

Aside from the cash rebates, you can also get a lot of discounts because of the cards “Shop Discover” feature. Using this card, you can make purchases with the partner merchants on Discover’s website and get discounts. For example, purchases made with overstock.com will get a 5% discount while those from FTD.com will get 20%.

As for the APR charges, the Discover More credit card has a variable interest rate of anywhere between 10.99% and 18.99%. There is also a Zero percent balance transfer rate for the first twelve months. Unlike the usual grace period for most credit cards that last for twenty days, the Discover More credit card offers twenty five days.

To make sure that you can maximize the features of this cash rebate credit card, you should always check which among the partner merchants of “Shop Discover” are featured for the month. You ought to keep on mind that these partner merchants rotate and change. Another thing that you should take into careful consideration is the double cash rebates than you can get. Choose which among the merchant partners can provide you with products that you greatly need and then trade your cash rebates for gift certificates.

If you are one of the fortunate people who have a good credit history matched with a splendid monthly take home pay, then you must be receiving a lot of credit card offers everyday. While it may be easy to pick all of the tempting credit card deals offered to you, it may be quite difficult to find the best and the finest among all your possible choices. To help you with your decision, below are some tips that you ought to consider:

Check your needs

There are many types of credit cards available out there. Because of the varied types of people who need credit cards, the finance industry also created various types. If you want low interest rates and if you are planning to consolidate all your credit card debts, then you ought to get standard credit cards. However, if you are one of those people who love traveling, then you might as well consider getting airplane rewards credit card or gas station credit cards. If you have specialized needs, get a business credit card or a student credit- whichever best suits your purchasing needs. And, if you are suffering from a bad credit and you are trying to rebuild your credit rating, you should get a prepaid credit card or a savings secured credit card.

Check the interest rates and fees

The most important rate that you should consider is the interest rate. This is especially a major concern if you are well aware that you are not capable of paying your monthly credit card balance in full. The usual credit card rates will amount to 14.99%. However, there are those that have interest rates that are as low as 8.99% or as high as 19.99%. The rates usually depend on your credit rating and the credit card company. Aside from the interest rate, you should also consider the balance transfer rate, the annual membership fee, the penalty fee whenever you exceed the credit limit, the late payment fees, processing fees, and more.

Check the introductory offers and the other benefits

Most credit cards will have introductory offers of Zero interest rate and Zero balance transfer fees for a certain period of time. Usually that period will last anywhere between three months to one year. The longer the introductory period is, the higher your savings will be. Aside from the introductory offer, you should also consider the other benefits that you can get such as the rewards. The best card will be that which provides you with a higher percentage of cash back on your most common purchases. The card should also provide you with more rewards in the form of discounts, free merchandises, and others

If you are suffering from a bad credit history and your credit rating has seriously deteriorated over the past few months, your options with financial resources will be quite limited. If you have records of bankruptcy, foreclosure, negative debt repayment backgrounds, missed or late payments, and more, you will definitely find it difficult to get loans and credit cards.

These days, more and more people with bad credit are demanding financial resources. As a result, finance companies have invented options that are specifically designed for them. In the case of credit card companies, this offer comes in the form of unsecured credit cards for people with bad credit.

As the name implies, unsecured credit cards do not require the borrower or aspiring card holder to set collaterals for card usage. If you get an unsecured credit card, there will be no need to declare your home, car, or any significant personal property as security. Instead, you will have just to prove your credit worthiness by presenting your proof of income and your present employment details.

When you get an unsecured credit card, you will be able to reap many benefits that usual credit cards offer, despite the unfortunate fact that you are suffering from a bad credit history. Primary of these benefits is the reality that you can purchase everything that you need even without cash at hand, for as long as you will not exceed your stated credit limit.

Having unsecured credit cards will also provide you with a chance to earn a little amount every time you purchase something using your card. These earnings may be in the form of cash rebates or rewards. Usually, your credit card will allow you to have a 1% cash back rate on all your expenses made through the card. As for the rewards, these can be in the form of miles earned or card points which you can redeem in the form of free hotel accommodations, free travel expenses, gift certificates, gift packs, household appliances, and more.

Aside from the usual benefits that one can get from credit cards, the unsecured credit card provides you with a chance to rebuild your credit history. If you get this card and you make it a point to pay on time and in full every month, you can ultimately reverse your credit rating in as short as twelve months, especially if you have not filed for bankruptcy over the past three years.

You will know if your credit score is increasing significantly if your credit limit gradually goes up little by little. As your credit gets better and better, you might even get reduced interest rates, more credit card rewards, and other opportunities that are normally offered to regular credit card holders.

A student credit card is one of the specialized credit cards that are offered by many financial institutions, banks, and other lending companies. Basically, this card provides any student with a chance to make cash advances and instant purchases without the need to present cold cash.

What makes a student credit card primarily different from all the other credit cards is its low interest rate that is definitely affordable for the student who has limited financial capabilities yet. If you are planning to get a student credit card, below are some of the factors that you should take into consideration.

a. The annual percentage rate (APR). It will be better if you can always pay for your credit card purchases in full every month. However, if you are well aware that you cannot pay for your balance in full, you should pick a credit card with a very low interest rate. The regular APR for most student credit cards is 15.99%. However, there are those that can offer as low as 11.99% or as high as 19.99%.

b. The introductory offer. Just like most credit cards, student credit cards also have an introductory offer of Zero interest rate. However, this period may last anywhere between three months to six months. Obviously, the longer the introductory period is, the better it will be for you.

c. The balance transfer rate. This is of prime concern if you want to consolidate all your existing credit card debts. The best student credit card will be that card that allows you to have a Zero balance transfer rate during the first 12 months of card use and even well after the end of the introductory offer.

d. The other benefits. There are many rewards that a student credit card may offer. This might include cash rebates and rewards. Choose the card that will allow you to earn more points or more cash backs for the least amount of purchases that you make. Also, consider the redemption features. Know how you can exactly spend the cash backs that you earn. If you cannot spend your cash backs on the purchases that you need or prefer, those earned points will be entirely useless.

e. The default or penalty charges. Aside from the usual interest rate and the balance transfer rates, there are other fees that you should pay attention to. These are the fees applied when you spend over the stated credit limit, the fees that you should pay when you miss your payment due date, the annual membership fees, and more.

Spending can be a dreadful activity especially if you are on a very tight budget. However, such activity is part of your day to day existence and such is definitely unavoidable. If you want to make the most out of your day to day expenses, then you should consider getting cash back credit cards.

With a cash back credit card, you will not only have the privilege of shopping without the need for cash and you can earn while you spend on your everyday commodities such as grocery items, gas expenses, utilities, appliances purchases, medicine expenses, and other goods. In simple terms, cask back credit cards will provide you with cash incentives for every dollar that you spend using the card. These cash backs may come in the form of credit statements or issue rebate checks.

What’s good about cash back or cash rebate credit cards is the fact that the cash you earn through your purchases can be used to significantly lower your payments that you make on a monthly basis. Your total cash rebate can also come in the form of a check that you can cash and spend on whatever you may want. Some cash back credit cards usually give a 1% cash back rate on all your expenses using the card. However, there are many credit cards that have increased cash rebates that amount to as much 5% on your top three purchases every month.

Other than the cash back features, a cash rebate credit card can also provide other rewards. These rewards may include free hotel accommodations, free or discounted flights or cruise expenses, free household appliances, and more.

To maximize the benefits that you can get from your cash back credit cards, you should get the best deals. Included in the list of major considerations in choosing your cash back credit card is the percentage of the reward. The higher the percentage is, the more rewards you can gain with the least amount of purchases that you make. Choose those cards that offer double rewards.

In choosing your credit card, carefully examine where you can spend the cash rebates that you earn. There are some credit cards that limit your cash rebate expenses among their affiliate companies or on selected purchases only. If you are not an avid shopper of merchandises from such companies, having the benefit of earning cash rebates will entirely be pointless.

Another thing that you should consider is the interest rates. Most cash back credit cards will have an introductory offer of Zero interest rate. This period can last anywhere between three months to one year. If you have a card that offers a Zero APR for a year, you will gain the benefits of cashless transactions and without the need to pay for interest rates within one whole year. However, it will be better if you can pay for your credit card balances on time and in full so you will not have to worry about interest fees, missed payment charges, and more.

A bad credit rating will have many adverse effects on your financial capability. If you have suffered from bankruptcies, late or missed payments, foreclosures, and other negative credit management background, you will eventually find it hard to avail of normal loans and other financial resources. Such also applies to people who have no credit backgrounds.

To address the needs of people with bad credit histories and those who have no credit background, many financial institutions and credit card companies have devised special credit cards that will allow the card holder to repair their credit standing in no time. In the case of Capital One, their prime offer is the Capital One Classic Credit Card.

The Capital One Classic credit card is designed for people who are suffering from a bad credit rating. This allows one to get cash advances, and make purchases without the use of cash. Such can be very effective in repairing your credit rating, provided that you will pay your bills on time and in full.

Unlike other credit cards, there is no introductory offer for the Capital One Classic Credit Card. Instead, the APR will have a variable rate of 2.53% on a monthly basis or 34.94 on an annual rate. The same rate also applies to balance transfers and cash withdrawals. However, if you plan to pay your balance in full every month, you can get a maximum of 56 days for your interest free period. There is also no annual membership fee to talk about.

If you avail of a Capital One Classic credit card, you can purchase anything you want for as long as they will not exceed your given credit limit. You can have a credit limit of at least £100 or £2,500 at most. This, however, will be based on your financial capability at the time of your application. Your credit worthiness will then be gauged according to your monthly income and your existing debts.

If you cannot pay your credit card balance in full, you can opt to pay at least 5% of your total credit card balance. However, if you fail to pay on time, you will have to pay for late payment charges. There are also returned credit card cheque charges and over the limit fees as well as foreign currency conversion charges.

Despite the many charges that can be applied on your balance, what’s good about this credit card is the fact that you can ultimately avoid all the fees for as long as you do not overspend and you can pay all your balances within the interest free period.

Capital One has been providing many financial options to its customers since 1988. The company is one of the leading credit card companies in the United States, but other than its American customers, it also offers its services to millions of customers around the globe. Aside from credit cards, it also offers auto loans, home equity loans, and other loans for small businesses.

The most notable Capital One Credit Cards

Capital One® No Hassle Miles(SM) Rewards

This Capital One credit card is available for people who have excellent credit ratings. For the first twelve months of card use, you will have Zero rates on your purchases using the card. After the introductory period however, your APR will go up to 9.90%. However, that rate is still considerably low as compared to other credit cards. There are also no annual membership fees.

With this airline rewards credit card, you can also earn 1.25 miles for every dollar you spend on your purchases. What’s good about this card is that there is no expiration for the miles that you earn. There is also no limit on the number of miles that you earn for a specific period of time.

Capital One ® Platinum Prestige Visa ®

This Capital One card is the most popular among its balance transfer card varieties. Just like the No Hassle credit card, this card is for those who have an excellent credit rating. For the first twelve months of your card use, you will have a Zero APR matched with a Zero balance transfer rate. After the first year of credit card use however, your APR will amount to 8.90%. Such is still a very reasonable low interest rate since most cards will have an APR of 14.90%. There are also no processing fees, set-up fees, and annual membership fees.

Capital One® No Hassle Cash(SM) Rewards

This is the prime cash reward credit card offered by Capital One. Through its reward program, you can earn a cash back rate of 1% on your every purchase. Fortunately, there are no limits as to how much you can earn and there are no deadline as to when you ought to redeem your cash back. In addition to that, you can get a 25% annual bonus for all the cash that you earn during this year.

If you opt for this card, you will get a Zero interest rate on all your purchases during the introductory period. This period will last for six months. After the first six months, your APR will go way up to 16.90%. There is also an annual membership fee that amounts to $29 but there are no processing and set-up fees.
