    How often do you shop for seasonal tones of make up if your'e not a make up artist? I never do, I keep a stash of year round basics in my shoulder bag and a separate set in my travel bag: Chanel for the eyes, NARs for the cheeks and lips, Laura Mercier for my uber dark under eye circles and of course my Dr Hauschka Rose day cream and Jiva Apoha face oil. 

   As I'm not a beauty editor or a beauty blogger I thought my trial and error of various beauty products would give an authentic review rather than a slanted view and btw we (contentmode) don't have any beauty product advertisers that might leave me obligated to favor.

 So it's officially time to  start sampling the options that I see our contributing make up artists and hair stylists use to create  high level of editorial beauty. Note: there is a difference between a 19 year old model's skin being touched up between shots and anyone over the age of 30, and can these products stand the wear of 12 hours no touch ups if youre not 19 years old? 

   Burberry was top of my list to try not only for their theory of sheer beauty but for the selective ingredients that are benefical for the skin.  This is a new branch of the Burberry brand;  known for their high level of quality,design, and branding integrity. I can confirm packaging and quality of the product meets the price point, and it does create the sheer glowing English rose look that I do remember coveting while living/gowing up  in London.

   Here's my check list that one must own and add to one's cosmetic kit that will create a lasting natural sheer look that is trending now and especially in the humid NYC months ahead.

Sheer Concealer and Sheer foundation: both light weight and didn't enhance my fine lines and were long lasting, moisturizing. The packaging is amazing these dont pop open in your bag and spill.

Glow Blush:  It's based with wild rose extract and goes on as a sheer natural glow, always a great beauty aid when your face needs a quick touch up.

Effortless Mascara: How can you not love a mascara that accelerates lash growth and prevents the racoon eyes taking effect while youre eyes are watering from a good laugh? Love the easy to use brush.

And now for the lips: Notes on packaging, the magnetic lid ensures that those annoying particles of dust in your bag don't creep onto the lip stick and shock you with a rough application of what should be smooth.

Lip Mist Lipstick in nude honey: Ok the 1960's nude lip is trending for S/S13, this is the softer,sheer version that wont look overdone or pasty.

Lip Cover lipstick in Rosewood: a classic semi sheer tone that lasts for hours, moisturizes with anti aging ceramides; great for day or night.

Lip Glow/ Gloss: a nice shiney touch that does't create an over done look, instead it "plumps" the lips naturally and has a sheer hint of color.

    The peplum silhouette re invented, re cut, re fabricated into exits that will keep a 1980's trend (originally 1940s) alive and waist focused. It's a feminine and flattering cut that is often re interpreted in a cold modern way.

   A favorite peplum inspired exit at the Paris shows was the most inventive:  Givenchy's removeable duvet waist accessory? Not quite a corset but more a zip off padded peplum in matching prints, monchromatic, silk etc.  Dior, Stella McCartney, Costume National and Roland Mouret had the best re cut /modernized peplum tops ; strapeless being the largest common theme.

  Last but not least : Alexander Wang's premiere collection as CD of Balenciaga. First impression subliminal and uber understated,fun way to stay on the waisted in Paris trend. Important note: the furry peplum top that has a dual purpose (your hands and wrists have a RTW bult in muff).

   Pre Oscar thoughts: Is Argo going to win best picture? This year it's a tight competition. Regardless ARGO  has won the  best Film award: Golden Globes, Best Directing, Best ensemble cast (Sag) etc. The  theme of Contentmode 's 9th issue is Cinema/Movie. I thought it was a perfect theme to highlight nominated artists whether it be: SAG, Oscar, Golden Globe, Tony, etc and we have a few of the best in our new  issue.

  We produced a fashion shoot with actor: Scoot McNairy who's role in Oscar nominated "ARGO" has a hair raising /pivotal moment in the film. This isn't his first time working with Ben Affleck. As he is in Australia shooting a new film 'Rover" and not able to attend the Oscars it was a perfect excuse to share his interview about his current and up coming roles and his first close encounter with Ben Affleck.

  Faux fur, real fur trending via the teddy bear texture silhouetted in pop tops, dresses, skirts, eyewear, faux (fur) hawks, shoulder bags. Simone Rocha and Ryan Lo in London had the best tongue and cheek faux fur silhouettes; Simone Rocha's blouse and skirt ensemble and Ryan Lo's pink exit were the stand outs.

   Milan Fashion week opened with Fendi A/W 13 collection; presenting fur everything ; eye wear, hair pieces (hence the new Furhawk trend has landed), handbags, gorgeous patch work coats, pop tops,and  tunics.

London: Burberry Prorsum Fall/Winter RTW collection

' A collection of classic and Christine Wheeler' are the theme of Christopher Bailey's Collection for Burberry Prorsum 2013 Autumn/Winter collection. A strong underlying theme of the late 1950's early 1960's perfectly re interpreted with PVC and high tech fabrics. The early 1960's silouettes (column dresses, shell dress, topcoats,cabans and trench coats) are  excellent "go tos" . I feel this period has been referenced alot in RTW as of late and understably; most women want to feel understated and chic. 

 Heart prints, leopard prints, bold striping dominated the prints and some suprising metal eyeleting. The fringed eyelet " crush" bags were interesting but the small leopard print clutches a and the kitten heels were the strongest touch to an over all sleek and sexy collection.
