Every year when university students visit our schools for student teaching, I always ask them, "Where do you get your ideas from?" And I'm always answered with a blank stare. And every year, my advice to them is the same:
We all have great ideas, sometimes. And so when they come it is really important to make notes. Because there are other times when we all need a great idea, and for one reason or another are just not up to the task. But having an easy-access resource of activities and materials helps makes lessons great, every time. And not only that, it makes lesson planning and creation really easy.
This Conversational Fluency blog was created to share the great ideas (imho) I've had myself, and to share the ones I've seen from others. It is a sister site to the Conversational Fluency website, and as such much of the content will focus around the activities, knowledge and ideas found there.
A blog is also a place for readers to interact via posting and comments; if you find something useful here, or have a great idea yourself, I hope you'll feel encouraged to post it. Together we can build together an easy-access resource for great foreign language classroom ideas.
