Jonathan, a very hardworking young man from Queens NY, started his career as a promoter in the West Indian community. Through his years of promoting parties and events, he has become a well known individual. As can be seen from all the photos, just about everything he wears is Coogi brand. Being a promoter requires an important image and his image has stayed true to Coogi all these years. His love for Reggae music helped him to become as successful as he is today, along with being able to meet various artists such as Wayne Wonder, Mavado, Serani, and Mr. Vegas. His latest accomplishment is taking on management responsibilities of the Reggae artist, Gyptian. Jonathan and his promoting team, Kronicle Movements, always support the brand whether in the US or international travels with artists.

Sunny McMullen aka S. Gutta stopped by COOGI HQ for a brief photo shoot with our man Stanley and to promote his new song “Everything.” S. Gutta comes from Brooklyn, N.Y., where he grew up surrounded by its massive hip hop culture. He knew he needed to develop a style of his own to make himself heard and is now known for his  aggressive approach to his songs. S. Gutta has been writing music since 1988 and has collaborated with artists such as Jadakiss, DMC, Maino, Trey Songz, Fabolous, and his good friend, Slick Watts. He has performed all over the U.S. and was a featured artist on the TopMics Tour in Miami. S. Gutta has released one mixtape on Datpiff.com called “Assuming Control” as well as a new song on iTunes called “Everything”. World-renowned streetball player and motivational speaker, Pat the Roc stopped by COOGI headquarters for a brief photoshoot with our man Stanley. With over 20 trademarks moves to keep his audiences impressed and coming back for more, Pat the Roc has an undeniable talent and dedication that makes him an international superstar both on and off the court. In addition to playing streetball all around the world, Pat tours the country giving motivational speeches, hosting charity games, and leading basketball camps and clinics throughout the year. His initiative, Team AiP (Anything is Possible), inspires young kids to reach for their dreams no matter how many setbacks they may encounter.
Recently, Pat the Roc was dressed to impress in COOGI at the Macy’s Tysons Corner Grand Re-Opening.

The mission of the Jarvis Green Foundation is to provide support for single working mothers in disadvantaged, low-income areas whose lives have been affected by tragedy.  This cause is especially close to Green’s heart because he has seen the struggles these single mothers face firsthand.  To that end, he dedicates time, energy and financial resources to assisting single mothers in need.

There’s something unique about a woman who graduates from college and immediately decides to travel the world. There’s a hunger for discovery that leads an individual off the paved path and into the world of the unknown, at twenty-one years old. This is not a far fetched tale but the life of our Coogi Blog spotlight, Evita Robinson.

By the age of twenty-five Evita had already lived on three continents and visited ten countries. The bucket list includes Japan, Cambodia, France, The Netherlands, India, and Thailand to name a few. Primarily based out of Asia for the last two years, this Bronx, New York resident has made it her business to bring the world of travel to the young urban demographic.

While in Asia, Evita started a video blog, Nomad•ness Travel Series, that showcased her life in Japan for family and friends. Fast forward a year later and Evita is laying down bricks for a travel industry takeover. Nomad•ness TV is on its way to becoming a full stop travel show and Evita’s visions are limitless.

Nomad•ness has gained steam, now some fifteen webisodes into the project. She is in the final phases of her first travel memoir, and this Spring 2011 will be releasing her first travel bag in a series coming out geared towards youthful travelers. There’s a momentum behind her hustle that is undeniable. There is also a following.

“Minorities seem to have been left behind in the travel dialogue. I feel it’s imperative to let our youth, and our twenty-somethings, know that there is something greater than your block, borough, or city. The education I’ve gained traveling the world, easily rivals the education I got that afforded me a college degree,” she says candidly.

For her, it’s about bringing the option to people who never considered the world to be their playground. In conjunction with Coogi, she showcases what it’s like to set a goal,  and execute. That is what makes Evita Robinson our current showcase.

These donated COOGI D LINE 2′s were painted by Zimad and Cortez, two very well known artists in the 5 Pointz community, for a 5 Pointz fundraising event held on March 23rd. The 5 Pointz outdoor art exhibit space in Long Island City, New York is considered to be the world’s premiere “graffiti Mecca,” where aerosol artists from around the globe paint colorful pieces on the walls of a 200,000-square-foot factory building. A lucky raffle winner is now the owner of these custom designed sneakers. Congratulations!
