It’s National Fried Chicken Day! The candy brand Airheads has officially entered the fried chicken wars with a new fried chicken sandwich. That has a bun made entirely out of Airheads candy!

The appropriately named Airheads Chicken Sandy contains the usual fixings such as fried chicken, coleslaw, spicy mayo, and pickles. Entire stuffings are sandwiches in two buns of Airheads Xtremes. 

The striped candy belts make the sandwich look like something straight out of the “Patty Hype” episode of Spongebob Squarepants. In where Spongebob creates Pretty Patties. 

Airheads Candy Chicken Sandy will be available to taste test at the Chicago restaurant Frances’ Deli & Brunchery during lunch hour for dine-in only, while supplies last. 

Frances’ Deli & Brunchery is located in Chicago, IL. Taste-testing will be available from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., local time. 

We can’t help but wonder what this sandwich tastes like. There are so many flavors and textures going on in one sandwich. Let’s just hope that this sandwich remains extremely limited.

The most recent mint chocolatier food in Korea is fried chicken. People have been posting pictures and reviews of this Mint Chocolate Chip Chicken, the reviews are torn. The fried chicken is slathered in a mint green chocolate sauce that makes it look like something straight out of an alien movie. The base chicken is spicy, and some people say that the combination of sweet and spicy surprisingly… works? The restaurant selling these mint chocolate wings also has a chocolate flavor that also looks very interesting.

Tik Tok user @highwaytohere tried out both the mint chocolate and chocolate wings and said she liked the chocolate flavor. But didn’t enjoy the mint chocolate flavor due to it being overly sweet and not minty.

Unfortunately, this chocolatey chicken isn’t something we can find in the United States. But we’ll see if the mint chocolate trend ever catches on so we can try out these green chicken wings. Would you try out these chocolate-smothered chicken wings? I might just have to try making these at home to make a judgment call for myself!

Taco Bell is the latest company to jump on the vaccine freebie bandwagon. Similar to Krispy Kreme offering free doughnuts, Taco Bell will be offering free tacos to vaccinated guests. Not just any tacos, but seasoned beef Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos!

Guests can receive a free Doritos Locos Taco. They have to show a valid COVID-19 vaccination card at participating Taco Bell locations on June 15. 

On June 15, California’s mask mandate will be updated to be different for vaccinated people and unvaccinated people. 

Californians who are vaccinated can carry on doing things that they were doing prior to COVID-19 without a mask. However, vaccinated people will still need to wear masks in hospitals, prisons, homeless shelters, during travel, and indoors at K-12 schools. 

Unvaccinated individuals will still be required to wear masks in all indoor settings. 

More than 70% of California adults have received at least one dose of the vaccine. But younger groups still need to be vaxxed and others still need to receive their second dose. 

Taco Bell has partnered with Governor Gavin Newsom as part of the Vax for the Win program to increase vaccinations in these groups. 

“We are thrilled to do our part and give back to our home state with something that everyone knows and loves to celebrate those who have made the decision to get vaccinated,” said Mark King, CEO of Taco Bell Corp., in a press release.

This year is big for cereal! Kellogg’s has released their latest cereal mashup and has plans to bring back their fan-favorite cereal straws. General Mills launched oatmeal inspired by their famous cereals. 

Now, Kit Kat has entered the game. Hershey’s has created a fruity cereal flavored Kit Kat, that’s best paired with Saturday morning cartoons!

Breakfast seems to be a big theme these days. Especially when it comes to the sugary morning meal options. A sweet bowl of cereal is incredibly comforting and nostalgic.

Think about it, cereal was a staple in many of our childhoods. Name a better feeling than waking up on the weekend, eating a big bowl of your favorite cereal, and watching your favorite cartoons? 

That’s right. You can’t.

It seems like this flavor is long overdue! The outer layer of a Kit Kat is perfect for blending the sweet and fruity flavors and the wafer can simulate that crunchy taste of cereal.

Avengers fans can finally assemble at the opening of Disneyland’s Avengers Campus which is set to open on June 4! With all this excitement surrounding the opening, people have turned their attention to the colossal $100 sandwich that’s inspired by Marvel’s Ant-Man. 

The Pym-ini is a panini-style sandwich that contains salami, rosemary ham, and sun-dried tomato spread on toasted focaccia bread and goes for a whopping $99.99. 

It is also served with a side of crispy potato bites and a refreshing arugula salad!

You’ll be relieved to know that the expensive version of the Pym-ini is the family-sized version. It feeds about six to eight people, which if you do the math, comes out to just over $12 per person. 

The giant sandwich is also available in individual sizes for $14.99. This sandwich isn’t the only exciting thing on the menu. Another eye-catching dish on the menu is the Not So Little Chicken Sandwich priced at $15.49. 

Fans can also try the Atomic Fusion Pretzel which is loaded with buffalo chicken, hot sauce, ranch dressing, blue cheese crumbles, celery, and dill-pickled carrots for $10.49.

So you may be thinking ‘what is the connection to Ant-Man?’ Well if you’re not familiar with the Marvel Universe, particularly Ant-Man, the sandwich is named after Pym Particles which are used to make things bigger. 

Fans and park-goers can find the Ant-Man-inspired sandwich at the Pym Test Kitchen, a counter-service restaurant named after Dr. Hank Pym.

 Dr. Pym is the entomologist and physicist who developed the Ant-Man suit after discovering particles that cause things to shrink and grow. 

The Pym Test Kitchen is all about making customers feel super tiny next to enormous soda cans and gigantic condiment bottles. Meanwhile, guests can enjoy oversized shareable portions from the menu!

Krispy Kreme has launched a new limited edition  Lemonade Glaze Collection starting June 7. 

The collection takes inspiration from the summery beverage that quenches any thirst on a hot summer day! 

There are all kinds of different lemonades which did not stop Krispy Kreme from including four available lemonade options for this collection!

The four lemonade flavors include two lemonades, strawberry lemonade, and pink lemonade. Whichever your favorite is, you can expect to bite into a doughnut that tastes like it was freshly squeezed.

The Lemonade Glazed Doughnut is a Classic Original Glazed doughnut covered in a Lemonade Glaze. 

Lemonade Glaze, Lemon Kreme Doughnut is a mouthful. It includes a Lemonade Glazed doughnut filled with Lemon Kreme.

The Strawberry Lemonade Glazed Doughnut includes a Lemonade Glazed doughnut dipped in strawberry topping and finished with a lemon icing swirl. 

Pink Lemonade Cake Doughnut is a Pink Lemonade Cake doughnut covered in Lemonade Glaze and topped with lemon buttercream and pink sugar.

Now that the 2020 Summer Olympics will be taking place later this summer, Oreo, who is a proud sponsor of the Olympics, will be releasing their Red, White, and Blue Oreo cookies!

The coronavirus pandemic put the entire world on pause last March forcing large-scale events to be canceled, including the Olympic Games that were set to take place in Tokyo last summer. 

This means we’ll be watching the 2020 games a year later. It is a little odd but nonetheless, we’ll get to see who is taking home the gold!

To gear up for the summer events, Oreo has designed a cookie that’s fit for a U.S. Olympian. The red, white, and blue creme create three luscious layers. Who doesn’t love a little extra creme? 

Embedded inside the three-layer creme is another little surprise — pop rocks! All of that popping creamy goodness is squished between the chocolate cookies adorned with Team USA emblems.

Though these are no gold medals, they are certainly something to get hyped about right before the games!

Red, White, and Blue Oreos will be out starting June 14 and will only be available for a limited time.

The 2020 Summer Olympics will take place between Friday, July 23, 2021- Sunday, August 8. 

Temperatures are getting warmer and daylight is stretching later into the evening! This can only mean that summer is just around the corner and brighter days are ahead! Starbucks is inviting customers to sip a cup of summer with the new Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino!

When you think of summer, you think back to the magical local county and state fairs that are put on every season. Nothing beats spending a day at the county fair.

County and state fairs were, for the most part, shut down last summer due to the statewide stay-at-home order that was put in place to minimize large gatherings to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

This is why we’re so excited about this drink! Local fairs may or may not be back this summer. So this frappuccino gives us something to sip on and reminisce about.
