Rocha Tombal Architecten designed a basic form with sculptural “eyes” that emerge with direct views to the varied countryside landscape.

The form and orientation of the building avoid visual contact with the adjacent houses. At the ground floor the angled ceiling of the kitchen accentuates the intensive contact with the garden. On the first floor, the different shaped openings in the roof and facade offer, like “fingers of light”, varied daylight experiences.

The routing through the house starts in the hall, a section of the ground floor volume. After experiencing the entrance area and passing the gigantic pivoted door, the visitor arrives at the heart of the house, the kitchen. Here he looks through the big glass wall straight into the garden, which suggests being outside again. Behind him, the stair cuts a wooden wall inviting to follow the route towards the first floor. Its angled form and extreme proportions (small and high) and the daylight entering from the ceiling, offer the feeling of walking in a medieval street.

At the end of it he discovers the living room, a quiet, north-lighted attic space, from which a big opening exposes the surrounding green like in a framed painting.

Blok Kats Van Veen Architects projects this private house located along the edge of the Homeruskwartier neighbourhood facing the Almere forest stroke.

The triangular shape of the plot was leading for the design. The triangle opens itself towards the garden at the south west with a great view on the forest stroke. The living space is a long open space divided by loose elements into different places including a dining area and a kitchen.

The 3.1 Phillip Lim Flagship Store designed by Leong Leong Architecture is located in Cheongdam-Dong, Seoul’s premiere fashion district.

Elaborating on the concept established in the brand’s Los Angeles Flagship (take a look at the store), the design incorporates a 12 meter facade surfaced in a supple gradient of pillow-like concrete tiles.

The flowing interior is a sequence of intimate spaces which frame the clothing in tactile materials. These material “linings” create a narrative of atmospheres for unexpected and curious encounters between the client and the clothing.

Custom wallpaper inspired by ancient Korean ceramics is the result of an ongoing collaboration with artist Wook Kim. Other wall treatments include a conical wall texture which erodes into a constellation of brass stars, leather herringbone tiles, and a oak floor that slowly transitions through a gradient of grey tones.

The perimeter of the interior is lined in mirror creating a “inkblot” effect by doubling the sequence of spaces.

Platform 5 Architects designed the extension of this house situated in Mapledene Road, a conservation are in Hackney.

The property had been stripped of virtually all its period features and had become run down and used as a “crack den” leaving it ripe for modernisation. The cellular ground floor was opened up and extended to the rear to allow the spaces to flow into each other and to the garden. The kitchen and patio areas are unified by a concrete floor and London stock brick garden wall. The expansive glass roof opens up the view to the sky giving the space an external character.

Huge Architects have recently completed the Factory in Shanghai, China, that is part of the ‘Slaughthouse’ redevelopment in the North of Shanghai in Hongkou.

They worked closely with creative Director Sean Dinsmore to design several inter-connected components in one space a restaurant along with a bar & lounge, recording and digital studio, pop-up retail, art gallery, and creative workshops with live exhibition.

The concept of the recording studio was to allow people to look into the creative process of cutting a beat or recording a singer while also designing a state of the art recording vocal room and editing studio. Cubes were inserted into the ceiling to break the reflection of sound and placed in optimal positions based on the acoustic engineers research.

Much of the existing building was kept raw with the lounge and restaurant/bar covered with variations of timber flooring that continue under the stairways and form part of the kitchen benchtop and bar.

Maurice Mentjens Design projected the new office for PostPanic, a design / animation studio and a production company.

When PostPanic decided to move to a new building in Amsterdam, they wanted an interior that not only would be pleasant and workable, but also inspiring, and a reflection of the studio’s creative and headstrong mind.

In the briefing, functionality was the biggest priority. To ensure a constant quality, PostPanic purposely chooses to produce, direct, design and animate in-house to stay truth to their original vision, once in production.

This approach requires that the various departments of the office each have their clearly divided and defined areas. But at the same time they required to maintain as much as possible the openness and transparency that the place offered.

The design also had to take into account that the workforce fluctuates from 14 to 40, depending on the different stages of production.

Japanese Suppose Design Office created this unique house for a young family.

The kitchen, bathroom, living rooms and bedrooms are enclosed in individual cubes which are connected through the outdoor spaces. The glass roof provides natural light and protects for all seasons.

This is the new office headquarters interior of Parliament Design, a creative company in Portland, Oregon.

The design features a number of pieces made from salvaged and reclaimed materials, including salvaged pizza ovens, street signs and wood from of crates, a barn and a church.
