Supermachine Studio designed the small imported car showroom Autostella in Bangkok, that only sells cute and fun cars to drive like Fiat 500 or Alfa Romeo.

The showroom is designed like a small bakery and cafe’ that has small cars park right in the middle of the shops. Imagine a car like one of the furniture in the living room… Their potential clients are those lifestyle concerned people, where the car becomes part of their lifestyle, like mobile phones.

The flat and long red box is pushed-pulled, deformed and divided into four different, but connected, rooms. Each room has windows in different sizes facing the street. Each of the window has different size accordant to the size of the room.

It is like a house for cars rather than a car showroom.

Square One designed the interior or the Shade Club located in the basement of a residential building in the center of Bucharest, Romania.

Shade was a interesting experiment. The location is the basement of a residential building in the center of Bucharest. Since the 90’s there were many clubs there some of them very successful. Some quiet scandalous. The last years before it was closed, the location was synonymous with some of the Romanian interlope world. So it had a bad name. After a period of almost 5 years the location was rented by two guys who hired us to do an eclectic glamorous club.

Because the structure was so dense, and the club divided in 3 different spaces, we decided to create different designs and graphic pattern that links the spaces.

The lights:
It’s a black and white design. I usually use light to color my designs. This is the case here: a RGB spectral tube system that runs on the perimeter. It is mainly indirect light. The same system is used in the first bar too.

To give a good contrast to the design we used Corian Noir in combination with Glaciar Ice Corian that is translucent. So we used spectral tubes as light source to light up the white surfaces.

i29 Architects designed this small apartment of 45 square meters in Amsterdam, completely renovated because of foundation repair.

In it’s new layout all the functions of the house are placed in two wall units. Entrance hall, wardrobe and kitchen equipment are hidden behind a pinewood wall. On the opposite a second wooden wall of the same material is placed. This wall integrated a bench, fireplace and storage. Floor, ceiling and walls are all white. A custom designed table and bench, together with the fireplace are anthracite gray. The simplicity of the design and choice of materials give this apartment lots of space within the limited area.

Pitagoras Architects designed this three-storey house located in Guimarães, Portugal.

Here is the project description:

The built body results from a manifested desired integration with the uneven topography that characterizes the land it occupies. Thus, the house is addorsed to the land, with the objective of defeating its accentuated slope.

Although we are dealing with a building of 3 floors, one of the architectural projects objectives is to establish connections between the building and its surroundings, between its interior and exterior spaces. All floors are contemplated with covered or uncovered verandas and patios that are closed off or open to the landscape, creating variable possibilities of inhabiting spaces, taking advantage of the light and scenery that change with the different seasons. Thus, the dense white volume acquires, with its large openings and differentiating materials, contrasting hollows.

Della Valle Bernheimer designed a fitness center with a diverse entertainment program located on the third floor of a residential tower in Brooklyn.

Located on the third floor of a residential tower, this amenity space combines a fitness center with a diverse entertainment program including screening room, gaming area, and demonstration kitchen. The boundary between these two programs is defined by a folded ceiling/wall covered in a metallic, patterned paper. This luminous patterned surface intersects the residential corridor to form the entrance.

In contrast to these cool, dark exercise rooms, the opposing rooms by the terraces embrace the warmth of the adjacent outdoor space. A low wall of bamboo on the terraces surrounds exterior lounges and creates a backdrop for the interior lounge space. Here in the lounge, the canopy of the metal ceiling terminates by folding downward to form a sweeping bench and bar for this central gathering space for the residents of the building.

Ternullomelo Architects designed the Petit Cabanon Café located in Lisbon, Portugal, like a “parent and child cafe”.

Here is the project description:

Petit Cabanon Cafe is located in Parque das Nações, Lisbon, and is meant to be a “parent and child cafe” – a place in which parents can enjoy having a coffee, catching up with friends etc., without having to worry about their children’s surroundings. For this purpose it houses a playroom with a playground for children.

To accommodate the children, a house archetype shaped playroom/playhouse, stocked with books, toys and an indoor playground was built. Outside of the playhouse it’s the grown-ups world, inside the children’s one: walls, floor and ceiling are yellow, everything is scaled to their size – even the height of the two big window sills, which allow the parents to easily watch-out for their children.

Stefan Boublil designed this apartment on the 61st floor on a metropolitan tower in New York that overlooks Central Park.

Here is the project description:

Combining 3 smaller apartments into one at one of new york city’s most coveted uptown addresses, we delivered a stunning new dwelling on the 61st floor of the metropolitan tower. Every single room is constructed so that the postcard view of central park is the star.

The kitchen and dining area is the only one wrapped in waxed concrete thereby giving it a theatrical feel, especially when seen from the rest of the apartment which is clad in bleached pine and subdued colors.

Norm Architects renovated the apartment to create the feeling of a private hotel suite for a Danish couple.

Here is the project description:

The basic idea for the renovation of this Copenhagen apartment was to create the feel of a private hotel suite for a Danish couple living in Spain. As the owners travel a lot, we wanted to create a calm and pure structure that was ideal for relaxation.

The rooftop terrace, that is almost the same size as the apartment, was completely redone in a minimalist wooden structure that allowed a Japanese inspired grass garden on the top of the concrete building overlooking the Copenhagen skyline.
