More than just a camera, the Canon EOS C300 and Canon EOS C300 PL cameras mark the beginning of a whole new system for the motion picture industry.

The spec's of the Canon EOS C300 are very interesting for both good and bad reasons. Firstly it is available in either the cinema standard PL lens mount form or a Canon EF lens mount form. Canon have announced a number of 4K-capable cinema-specific lenses :

14.5 - 60mm T2.6 wide zoom in both mounts
30 - 300mm T2.95-3.7 long zoom in both mounts

EF-mount-only 24, 50 and 85mm cinema primes (which presumably will work great on AP-C sized Canon still cameras)

The Canon EOS C300 camera's sensor is a Super-35 sized CMOS of 3840 x 2160 pixels, which is actually Quad HD rather than cinema 4K but so be it. The bad news is that the camera only records 1080P at 24 - 30fps. onto its dual Compact Flash cards. That's right, there is no 4K output. The advantage of down-sampling is of course superior color, superior low-light performance, and the requisite shallow depth-of-field effects. In fact the sensor seems to be rather unique in the way that each color (RGB) plus luminance gets its own set of photosites. So 4K output would not be an option anyway.

There are so many Android tablet on the market and it is difficult to keep them in mind, but the tablet has some unique features to differentiate and distinguish them from others. Pantech Elements seem to have these advantages? Waterproof. But not quite well, because the tablet gadget can only withstand splashes, so that the tablet can be damaged still, though you are careful. Everything sounds great except for the Android 3.2 part but with this kind of specs, it would not be wrong to guess that an Ice-Cream Sandwich update is in the offing once the Pantech Element is released.

Sony Ericsson has said it will announce a new smartphone call Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD at CES 2012. The rumoured about Xperia Arc HD is named as such because of its 1280x720p screen which makes it perfect for the Ice Cream Sandwich update.

GSMArena’s tipster also left them with some specs which also seems to corroborate what we have heard in the past, although we’ll refrain from taking them as a hard truth until we actually see/read about the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD for ourselves.
