Practise makes perfect

My dear friends, if you follow my posts closely, you will notice that I had been writing about the student guide from April 2009 to September 2009. Why I wrote so many topic about the student guide was because one of my friends told me to write some goodness. He handed over a book to me. I told myself no matter how I had to full fill his wish, so I spent the time to read and gave my ideas also.
I was so happy that I finally completed the work. I never expected that I was benefited a lot while writing about the student guide.
Now, I am going to share with you some story about those who had learned the student guide, the obstacles they faced.
Let's hear the story of Mr. Hu.
Mr. Hu wanted to have the meaningful and happy life, so he learnt the student guide. Basically, the student guide is the ethic lesson for small kids but it is good for adults who had no chance to learn the moral education in their childhood. For adults to learn the goodness, they need to fully comprehend all the contents fully and practise it in their daily life. Without practice, it is totally useless.
Mr. Hu started learning the student guide since year 2007, almost two and half years. He was sharing with us his learning experiences. He told us honestly that he had applied it wrongly in many areas but he corrected it from time to time. Now the learning of student guide had transformed him to the better person, better businessman. His relationship with family members, employees is improved greatly. Because of the joyfulness, he is now giving talks to businessmen, ordinary people the path of happy living as the " normal human ".
My friends, Mr. Hu is the person who previously living so miserable although he had earned lots of money. Now he is ready happy because he is the " normal human " now.
Note: Many people living so called the normal life, but what is normal life and abnormal life? Time to ponder this........What type of life you ready want?

How to have caring heart?

Last post I talked about unselfishness could lead us to the path of wisdom. Of course Mr. Hu is living happily now. Recently he shared with us his experience on how he could get back the caring feeling towards his aging father who is 80 over years old.
Due to the very old age, his father can only read newspaper with the aid of magnifying Len. His father always has " tears " whenever he watches TV program for few hours because of the reflection of TVs screen.
This time Mr. Hu wanted to get back the caring feeling and attempted to find ways to help alleviate the pain that his father was facing due to eyes' problems.
Mr. Hu conducted the experiment, he put the black ink painted on the spare spectacle and then put some powder. After that, he put two level of ink, red and blue. Ha ha, Mr.Hu wear this spectacle and can not see anything. This is exactly what his father's situation. Now, Mr. Hu had the compassionate feeling towards his father.
Mr. Hu discussed the problems with his younger son who is 9 years old. His son said that we needed to always visit grandfather to make him happy.
The conversation was as follow:
The younger son talked to his father:" You have told us before, if grandfather feel happy, his health will be better."
Mr. Hu:" Son, what should we do?"
Young son:" Grandfather likes to read newspaper, you should buy the newspaper with bigger wording."
Mr. Hu then decided to order the newspaper with big wording although the price is little bit higher. Mr. Hu's father was so happy and touched and always told friends that his son is now the person who ready carry out the advice from the student guide.
This story tell us that we need to have the feeling towards people first. Then we should know what he likes and dislike. After that, we do our best to full fill their wishes.
When we put down selfishness, our love towards others then can flowing out. Mr. Hu reminds us that just a little bit of clean heart, our hidden wisdom can be triggered out.

How to be the happy person? How to be the person of wisdom? Let's discuss it now.
There was the businessman Mr. Hu who always feel unhappy in life although he had earned lots of money.
One day, a man recommended him to read the student guide for being the good man. After learning it, the outcome was that many people still like to avoid him. He was wondering why? The student guide teacher explained to him because he had no wisdom due to the following reasons:
1.chasing for fame 2. care for own interests only
3. talk people' wrongdoings
4. greed and hatred.
The teacher told him:" As long as you have selfishness in your heart, you will not be the person of wisdom. That means you have to free from all these in order to have clean heart. Without clean heart, you will continue to have the conflict with people, unable to get along with people, so this is the time for you to examine yourself. You ought to put down " selfishness ", then you will be able to have clean heart. After that your wisdom will appear and you will be able to solve lots of problems in life. It will bring back the concept of " love " in your heart. you will definitely taste the joyfulness after helping others."

True happiness

Everybody like to have happy life, am I right? We must be able to create peaceful environment at home.
Firstly, respecting and caring our parents is the key point to true happiness. It is because parents and their kids have the very close relationship. We need to appreciate the love given by our parents. Without that feeling towards parents, how can we truly love our brothers, sisters, friends or our country.
If we can love our parents, then we can further learning how to love our brothers, sisters. After that, we then be able to extend the love to friends, nation and the whole world.
So, true happiness can only be established if you can care your parents, this is the starting point. Let's together to have the happy family. Every individual can do that, the whole society will become healthy.
This is the important element-love your parents first.

Do you know how many blogger in your country? If you want to know the answer, you can just type the question on Google search, you might be able to find the answer. In Singapore, the numbers are increasing day by day. It is so easy to have the blog site as long as you have the laptop or computer.
In Singapore, almost every family has the computer and the schools also using computer to teach students lessons, so students have already quite well versed on how to use computer. Medias like television, newspapers also talk about blogging frequently. Sometimes some Singapore famous blogger are invited to share their blogging experiences through the medias. Newspaper also has articles showing readers how to set up free blog site like blogger, word press.
The first time I come to know about blog actually was from television few years ago. They were the most famous Singapore blogger. At that time, they had already had the blog site for few years.
When you type Singapore blogger or Singapore popular blogger or Singapore famous blogger on Google search, you can notice their names are appearing on the first page. That means people can easily access to her blog site.
How come they can be so popular is Singapore, is it because they are very young, may be yes or may be no. If you look through their blog posts, you will realize that their blog posts can attract some one's attention because of writing some tasty posts, ha ha ha.
I have to say every blogger has the unique way of writing base on their interest. For example, the other relatively famous Singapore blogger likes to write about events, culture in Singapore. I can say that different blogger attract different type of readers.
I believe there are more Singapore blogger coming to add some colors in the blog sphere. May be you are asking me:" coolingstar9, are you the famous, popular blogger in Singapore?. The answer is no, but perhaps one day when you type Singapore motivation blogger, may be my site can be on first page of Google search " Singapore motivation blogger, who knows? The key point is that I simply love blogging and gaining fame is not my purpose.

If that was the truth, that those members who had joined would be disappointed. I hope this was not the case and perhaps something happened on that web site? Hopefully this was not the scam web site. I hope Internet marketer should not using inappropriate ways to gain something out of greed. If they are doing it, they are losing in many ways later in their life....am I right? I hope this is not. This incident reminds us to to be cautious as well.
Just now, I try to log on to that web site, it worked. Yes, I can log in and I see the message as follow:
" Due to the overwhelming number of members signing up we have had to upgrade our server requirements. We are currently working on this issue and will back up and running in no time. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused."
Seeing this, there is the hope again. I hope this is not the scam site. I will know the outcome soon.

How do you feel after reading this. I am equally sad seeing such a young kid suffering from incurable sickness and unable to live healthy and longer. As you can see , his only wish is to have many Christmas cards even he is going to leave this world.
This is the caring time. Can we do something just help fulfill his small wish- some Christmas cards. He will be happy because of your love flowing into him.

Thick skin

My friends, when you see my post title- thick skin, you might wondering whether am I going to tell you something related to the skin problem. No, I am not going to tell you about it.
What I am going to tell is sometimes we have to be thick skin in life. For example, if you are losing highly paid job, in order to survive, you might be finding the much lower paid job, so you need to be think skin. How about if you have a lot of ideas on how to do business, then you need to find ways to offer to some business partners, etc. You can not be shy to bring out the proposal. Am I right?
Thick skin is something that you do not want to do but you dare to act beyond. That means you have to overcome your fear.
Just give another example, I was thick skin while I was writing last post- Subscribe my feedburner. Because I do something that I usually do not want to do, the outcome is I will be able to get some additional feedburner subscriber. This was the result of being think skin.
But I am thick skin purely just to have the posts sent to readers via e-mail, that's all. Just say If I have 100 visitors now, honestly speaking, not all readers are subscribing but if 10 of them willing to subscribe. From my point of view, it is the happiest thing in blogging.

I have been blogging for two years. I have to say that I have learnt a lot since blogging. All these experiences can become my sources of my future blog posts. Although we blogger never meet each others but we all can encourage each others by visiting each others, sharing some views to each others' blogs. All these really make blogging enjoyable.
Although my blog posts mostly talk about life like how to live happily, some inspiring life stories. The purpose is very simple just to motivate myself as well as you.
Of course I have no expectation on anything in return, but I mainly enjoy the process of blogging. Within these two years, I also participate some blogging communities, I have some on line friends since then. I ready can not imagine how Internet and blogging has the impact before that.

Today my friend Miss Tan shares with me the real story. After hearing the story, I suddenly realize that I am blessed. I believe most of you are also blessed. You will understand fully why you are blessed after reading this touching story.
Many years ago, there was a child who was born with skin problems. Do you know what type of skin problem? The skin was look like a scaly ant eater. This was not the normal skin, its skin was easily fell off. This was indeed the tragedy for this little kid.
When the little kid reached the schooling age, her parents sent her to school. The unfortunate thing was happened, others kids all dared not to come near her because of her skin problem. Because of this, the school told her mother that she could not study there further.
The little girl was very upset and the mother apologized to her that she was born like that. The mother cried and told her daughter that she had to find her own way.
The little kid was so curious and learned herself whenever she found the old book outside. Whenever the other children visited her house, she would ask them what the meaning of words on the old book.
One day, The writer Mr.Zhang heard about that, he was so caring. He found the team of doctors to help cure her skin problem. After treatment, there was much improvement on her skin. One day, Mr.Zhang asked her what was her wish. This little kid said; I want to be the writer.
Mr.Zhang told her; Ok, I will teach you from now on.
My friend, Mr.Zhang was so caring and he helped the little kid selflessly.
The good news was that this little kid was already grown up and now she was writing articles for the local newspaper.
After reading this story, surely you will realize that you are blessed. You were born healthy and you had the chance to study and learn.
So, treasure it and ask yourself : what are you doing now?

In the family, it is bound to have some quarrels even some tiny matters. Let's see the typical example.
Mr. Lee is the brother and Miss Alice Lee is the sister. They recently have some quarrels because of the household's matters. Mr. Lee is the owner of the house. One day, Mr. Lee said :" Alice, close the window in your room, heavy rain now."
Alice was sleeping at that time so she never responded because of sleepiness. Mr. Lee felt angry because of her unresponsive. Mr. Lee never realized that Alice was in the deep sleep at that moment.
On the other day, while Alice phoned his brother to ask whether he would buy lunch home. Mr. Lee thought: "What for she call me to ask me about lunch, I am driving taxi now. She can just go for her meal herself."
Because of all these tiny matters, both of them become not friendly to each others. Both of them living unhappily in the same house. They bring their own personal problems to each others.

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!' This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck.' He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets. The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so ... Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't. Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it! Have a blessed, garbage-free day!

My friends, temporary setbacks can be the greater strength for us.
Do you know there is the 112 years old young lady still find time to contribute something great to the society?
Her whole life is focus on giving love to others unconditionally. Her selfless attitudes not only bring joy to those she helps but also touching so people's hearts, how can I not sharing it out. We ready can learn something from this great lady. She is the ready the good model in this century.
She is Teresa Hsu Chin who is living in Singapore. Although She is thin but full of energies just like the young lady. She likes to help poor, sick, old people.
She said:" I have many companion, I love them [ poor, sick , old people ]. Helping them unconditionally is my responsibility because we are all one family."
My friends, let's learn more about Teresa.
Part 1--the helpful child
Teresa Hsu Chin was born on 1897 in China. She had the unhappy childhood. Early years. When Hsu was young, her father walked out on the family for another woman. Her mother, who was illiterate, had to fend for the three girls and one brother singlehandedly. She was the understanding child then, everyday she did housework. After washing clothes in the river, she had to find herbs in the mountains. At home she needed to do some handicraft work to earn little money to help up the family. Sadly to say that her irrational father always scolded and beat her. Although she had no chance to go to school at the younger age but the illiterate mother loved her very much, she learned many good things from her caring mom like diligence, good morals ,etc. The unhappy childhood did not make her weak but more stronger person. Did she had the opportunity to study in school later? I will discuss it on my next post. Now is the time to ponder about Teresa's mother giving great love for her was the greater strength for her.

The good reminder for all

Let's study the student guide to complete the whole series. This last part is the good reminder to all students.
Read good book to learn good values
For student to learn good values. It is good to learn from the saints and sages. The books that teaches us to do evil things, it should be discarded and not even be looked at. Because these bad books can block our intelligence and wisdom, and will undermine our aspirations and sense of direction.
Neither be harsh on yourself, nor give up on yourself.
To be a person of high ideals, moral standards and virtue is something we can all attain in time.
My view:
This is ready the good reminder for all of us. I believe that if more people willing to learn good now, then our next generation will be blessed and they will appreciate that.
Let's together play a part as individual. Hopefully we can all smile and leave this world without any regrets.

Why eye contact between two strangers sometimes can lead to conflict?What are the causes?
Let see the example as follows:
Mr. A stares at Mr. B in the corridor, both are strangers to each others. Mr. B stares back and say:" Wei, why you stare at me?"
Mr. A say:" I'm not starring you, I see the tree besides you. Why? you not happy, isn't it? want to fight?"
Mr. B:" ---- you, you think I scare of you, come over here."
Then two person start fighting, attacking each others.
You see, a simple act can lead to tragedy sometimes.
Do you know why eye contact between two strangers can lead to conflict?
The conversation has shown:
They both like to win but in wrong path. They are too easily agitated by sights and words.
It is good to stay cool and not easily agitated by sights and words. It ready need " training " for them.

Create better environment

Let's study the study guide.
Create the better environment for study.
Keep your room neat, your walls uncluttered and clean, your desk tidy and writing materials properly placed.
When words are written carelessly, showing no respect, it shows that our state of mind has not been well.
The books should be classified, placed on the book shelves, and in their proper places.
Even though you are in a hurry, neatly put back the books we are reading.
My view:
Having such a good habits are ready good. Children need to learn this. It benefit them for whole day.

Today, I read the local Singapore newspaper that the man who had the PhD from Stanford is the taxi driver in Singapore. His name is Mr. Cai Ming Jie, he quit the scienticfic job earlier but was unable to find the suitable job. Finally he became the taxi driver.
Yes, In life, we have to quit the old job for some reasons, then we need to find the new job. Sometimes we need longer time to find the suitable or ideal job. Thus, we need to adjust our mindset so as to adapt to the new environment, sometimes we ought to look for much lower pay job. It is nothing wrong to be taxi driver because this is the honest job.
Out of curiosity and want to know more about this talented taxi driver, I surf Internet just now, I type " Singapore taxi driver blogger " on Google search and landed in the blog site that mention about him. From the link http://taxidiary.blogspot.com/ , I finally come to his site.
After reading his newest post, I write something there to give him the spiritual support.
I advise him to enjoy the job and always take good care of himself. As you know, driving taxi is the tiring job, you need to drive many hours to earn some income minus the taxi rental fees about $90 daily. I advise him to take the small break in between.
According to the security officer in his residence, Mr. Cai is the friendly, hardworking and courteous person. Can you imagine how working he is? He drives 15 hours daily and goes home to have lunch, dinner. He reaches home to sleep after 2 or 3 am in the midnight.
I enjoy reading his blog posts about the taxi driver's life. From his story, we learn something that we need to adapt to the new working environment, be working and thirsty.
I believe one day he will find the better job in the scientific field so that his talent can be fully utilised.
My friends, temporary setback can be the greater strength for the next journey.
All can be living happily regardless of what job you doing as long as this must be the honest job.

Parents in ancient time were very particular on moral education unlike today. They believed children must have the basis of good character before learning other subjects. At that time, the purpose of schooling was to instill students with good values. The priority was not earning money but to serve people well when they grown up. They then passed that traditional good values to next generation.
Nowadays, the situation have been changed drastically. Luckily we can see some people still continue to cultivate children with this good traditional values.
Personally I find that most of the traditional values still very useful today. In flat most Of them are core values for all.
This is my litter thought for today.

How to learn the student guide effectively.
There are methods to study correctly.
They involve concentration in three areas:
Our mind, our eyes, and our mouth.
To believe in what we read [ the student guide ] is equally important.
When we begin to read a book, do not think about another.
If we have not completed the book, do not start another.
Give yourself lots of time to study, and study hard.
Give time and effort, we will thoroughly understand.
If we have a question, make a note of it. Ask the person who has the knowledge for the right answer.

Time is running fast, the student guide is about to end soon. This student guide is to let us know what are the good habits that we should adopt, this is the aim of this student guide. This simple student guide is about moral education and is particular useful in this century because human beings are forgetting and neglecting about moral. This student guide is suitable for all ages regardless of race and religion. let's study the student guide chapter 7, part one.
1. Learn the knowledge about good deeds but never put it into practice.
If we do not actively make use of what you have learned about the good deeds, but continue to study on the surface, although our knowledge is increasing but it is only superficial. what kind of person will we be?
My view: If we never put it into action, there is no improvement at all.
2. Apply it but stop learning
If we do apply our knowledge diligently, but stop studying, we will only do things based on our opinion, in fact, what we know is not complete.
My view:
If We want to do good deeds, then we should really do it. It is useless if we just think without action.
Learn and do it, continue to learn and adopt the good habits. This is the endless learning path.

Singapore is the small but dynamic country now. We are going to celebrate the 44Th national day. I am very proud to be Singaporean, I will tell you why?

This coming National day fall on 9Th of August 2009, all Singaporeans are waiting for the grand national day celebration. Why Singapore national day is so significant to me?Let's me voice out just four points, shelter, job, education and go globally.
After separation from Malaysia, Singapore became the independent country, the day was 9Th of August 1965. At that time, many people doubted whether the tiny red dot Singapore could survive or not because of lacking natural resources. But our Singapore pioneer leaders and all citizens had the iron will to overcome all the obstacles and proved to the world that we could make it even we were weak at that time. Singapore pioneer leaders started the great plan in nation building. Providing shelters for all Singaporeans were the immediate task. They built houses for hundreds and thousands of Singaporeans, so that Singaporeans had their own comfortable houses to live in. The pioneer leaders reclaimed the land and built up many factories in industrial estates, like the famous Jurong industrial estate,etc.Now Jurong industrial estates became one of the big industrial estates in the world. Many people then had jobs to do.
The leaders knew that education was very important for Singapore's development because we had only human resources. We needed to maximum their potentials fully. That's why Singapore had invested heavily on education. In order to have peaceful environment, we were promoting racial, religious harmony. We encouraged all races, religion to have more interaction, mutual respect was the strength for Singapore. We always took the new challenges and started to invest globally.

If you are close to and learn from people of great virtue and compassion, you will benefit immensely. your virtues will grow daily and your wrongdoings will lessen day by day.

If you are not close to and learn from people of great virtue, you will suffer a great loss.
people without virtue will get close to you and nothing you do will succeed.
My view:
Although most of us are ordinary including me. we all can learn from those people of great virtue. These good people are everywhere, he or she might be beside you.
Just do you best, we will be gradually improved.
