Happy Fall!

Thursday, November 5th is the last day to complete the A Litter Bit Better! Cigarette Butt Survey. The link is found under Happenings - News. Thank you to those of you who have already responded. We will be collecting responses that will help provide direction for the Anti-Cigarette Butt Subcommittee's Campaign.

The City of Rochester is initiating its Storm Water Management Plan Update process. A new page with information about the background, history and schedule of events including upcoming surveys can be found in the Permits/Plans area. This page will be continually updated throughout the process, so check back frequently for updates.

The University of MN Water Resources Center is developing a 25-year framework to protect, conserve, and enhance the quality and quantity of surface and ground waters. A link to the 10-question survey can be found on the News page.

Have you "Raked for the Sake of Clean Water" this fall? Are you keeping your leaves and clippings off of hard surfaces? For information on leaf management, safety around storm water ponds this winter and other information visit the Happenings - Seasonal Topics area of www.rochesterstormwater.com for helpful tips.

A Prairie Home Companion Live Radio Broadcast

A Prairie Home Companion started production in 1974. A Prairie Home Companion's Live Broadcast at the Mayo Civic Center features comedy sketches, music, and Garrison Keillor's signature monologue, "The News from Lake Wobegon."

A Prairie Home Companion is heard on close to 600 public radio stations nationwide, with a weekly audience that tops 4.3 million listeners. The program can also be heard on the Armed Forces Network Europe, the Far East Network, and in dozens of European cities via the Astra satellite network.

Garrison Keillor is the host and writer of A Prairie Home Companion and The Writer's Almanac heard on public radio stations across the country and the author of more than a dozen books, including Lake Wobegon Days, The Book of Guys, Love Me and Homegrown Democrat. He was born in Anoka, MN, in 1942 and graduated from the University of Minnesota. He lives in St. Paul with his wife and daughter. He has two grandsons. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts & Letters and the Episcopal church.
