It’s a 2005 fantasy film written by Neil Gaiman and (also the film director) Dave Mckean. It was originally planned to be released as a straight-to-dvd film but had a limited theatrical screening in the US. It was also screened in 2005 Sundance Film Festival with positive reviews.

Critics may have mixed reviews about this film but I don’t care. I love it. It’s magical and has a great soundtrack. The trailer below is a poor representation of the movie itself. I assure you, once you see the whole movie, you will love it.

How would you describe your Harry Potter experience?

As for me, I say… bewitching.

I am so glad I finally changed the header of this blog. Originally, it was an image of Will Smith, Collin Farrell and another actor whom I forgot the name. Obviously, I didn’t like it. It made the blog look like a fanpage for those actors. LOL! Anyway, the four films in the header are just some of my favorites to say the least. I’ll be featuring those movies in the near future but for now, I’ll leave you with the movie trailers. Watch it and enjoy.

Amelie is a french romantic comedy film that was released 2001. Originally titled as Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain meaning “The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain”. My all the time favorite and my first and only DVD that was bought from Amazon. Hehehe!

Tesis is a Spanish film released in 1996 and is a feature debut film by Alejandro Amenabar. I highly recommend this suspense film but it’s really hard to get a copy of it. Kind of sad because I don’t have a DVD copy of Tesis. I watched this several times when it was shown in UP Film Center.

Under the Tuscan Sun is a 2003 film that is based on a memoir by Frances Mayes. It’s a feel good movie and I love watching it whenever I feel down.

Last but not the least, Leon: The Professional. It’s an action French/American thriller film starring Jean Reno and Natalie Portman. Did you know that this was Natalie’s first film? She was only 12 years old and is really, really good.

What are your top favorite movies?

One of my favorite movie series is Batman. My favorite was Batman Returns (1992) because I love how dark and gothic the movie is. Not to mention the feisty Catwoman is in that movie too. For me, nothing beats Michelle Pfeiffer’s version of Catwoman (I am Catwoman, hear me roar!)

But after so many years, they released new Batman movies under the direction of Christopher Nolan and I was blown away. Batman Begins (2005) has a modern (and still dark) Gotham City. I was excited and really looking forward to the next movie. Then they released The Dark Knight and I died and went to movie heaven. The best Batman ever! It’s action-packed, there’s Christian Bale and there’s Heath Ledger. The best villain of all time. He’s one crazy SOB you wouldn’t want to mess with. It’s Heath Ledger’s best character portrayal and sad to say his last finished film.

I think it’s quite appropriate to quote a movie line for this first blog entry. Not to mention that Johnny Depp is such a dork as Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I love Johnny Depp. And I’m putting that out there as a warning because I’ll be featuring his movies, little clips and gifs like this in the near future. But I promise it will be worth your while. Because anything Johnny Depp + Tim Burton is always a must see. It’s sacrilegious to skip a movie collaboration of those two.

Okay… I’ll stop fangirling for now.
