Fox News would never bend the truth about how many people showed up to a Teabagger Rally would they?

It’s this kind of shit that Fox News does to really piss me off. There’s a claimed clear difference between the opinion shows on Fox and the “news” shows and if there’s one thing you don’t do when you’re “reporting” an event, it’s use stock footage from a completely different event, aside from wholly and intentionally misrepresenting the truth.

Let’s role play. Imagine that I’m charged to produce a piece on this year’s World Series on a popular network. However, since I’m none to pleased with the actual outcome (the Yankees winning and all) I decide to use some stock footage from, lets say just for kicks, the 2004 World Series. Wait, it doesn’t end there. Instead of just rolling that footage while giving truthful report explaining that the Yanks won, I reported that the Red Sox won - all while keeping a straight face. Sure, most people would know that I was blowing smoke up their asses, but some of these Gumps down here in Alabama wouldn’t know any better since they don’t watch or care about baseball.

I have been told to use MATLAB in three separate math classes so far, yet no professor has taught me how to use it. How is this fair? In differential equations I basically followed the one example that was given, all the while having no idea what I was doing or even what the questions were asking me to do. In matrix theory we were given a sheet of basic commands and only did simple calculations, so we really didn’t get into the software at all. Now, in numerical analysis, I am being asked to write a program from scratch to solve systems of nonlinear equations using various methods we learned in class. I don’t know the language. I lucked out in actually having some programming experience, but it is not a prerequisite for the course. I have two days to figure this out.

I know why no one has taught you: no one knows how to use it, let alone how to do your project.

I don’t get it. No, seriously. This makes no sense at all. One cup is empty and one cup is crushed. So is this a glass-is-half-empty sort of thing, or a glass-is-smashed sort of thing? Further, do they both have the same meaning? And let’s not even start with how crappy the text handling is. I would describe the kerning as an empty cup and the leading as a crushed cup. So maybe in that case this is a huge success.

Tim might be the funniest person I’ve ever known. He moved from Alabama to L.A. earlier this year in order to pursue his dream. In less than a year, he’s become an intern at UCB and has got to hang out with the likes of Amy Poehler (he inadvertently stumbled into an improv sketch invloving all the original members of UCB and performed approx. a minute of improv WITH THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS OF UCB), Mindy Kaling, Paul Scheer, Aziz Ansari, and basically everyone I love in comedy/television right now. Oh yeah, he also works at the Palladium and saw Grizzly Bear’s final tour date in the U.S. this year AND worked the VIP at a Dylan show.
