20^th Anniversary of digital-only eMagazine PreSense and 10^th Anniversary of Digital Journalists Association of India (DiJAI) were celebrated on 6^th December 2025 at Hotel Palmgrove.

Hon’ble Justice Dr T N Vallinayagam, (Former Judge of Madras High Court), R Lakshmipathy (Joint Director, Dinamalar) and R Bhagwan Singh (Senior Journalist and former Editor of Deccan Chronicle) were the Chief Guests. R Nurullah, Co-Chairman of DiJAI welcomed the gathering. The meeting was attended by eminent persons of the city. Prime Point Srinivasan invited some of the persons who helped PreSense in early days to be honoured by the Chief Guest. Priyadharshni Rahul, Editor of PreSense and President of DiJAI anchored the event. C Badri, Editor-in-Chief of PreSense, proposed the vote of thanks.

Two books, a compilation of articles published in PreSense and two AI applications were launched.

In recent days, we have observed in traditional and social media, the glorification of anti-heroes, including wrongdoers. The recent media reports glorifying the 104 illegal immigrants, who were deported to India, is causing concern. Even the funeral processions of terrorists are attended by thousands of people as if they have sacrificed their life for the nation. Our Editorial deals with this state of affairs.

The recently concluded Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 has made history in many aspects. It is a true example of the confluence of faith, governance, and the general public. Our cover story gives a detailed account of the great event.

On behalf of the Editorial Board, I would like to wish all the readers a very happy and prosperous New Year 2025.

I am also happy to announce that from January 2005 onwards, Shri Ramesh Sundaram, currently the editor-in-chief of PreSense, will take over as Joint Managing Editor. Shri C Badri, currently the Consulting Editor, will take over as editor-in-chief. Both of them have rich experience in their respective domains.

We are also planning to include a few Media and Journalism students for three months to train them in Digital Journalism. This will be a continuous process, and these students will also be issued certificates.

The recently concluded Winter Session of Parliament caused great disappointment for the entire nation. We are publishing an editorial on this shameful act.

The nation has witnessed a horrifying incident of rape and murder of a young doctor in Kolkata. After the Nirbhaya incident in 2012, this incident has drawn the attention of the entire nation. Civil society across the country protested in the streets. Even the Supreme Court of India has taken up this issue suo moto. We have written an editorial on the ‘crime against women’ in India, comparing it with other countries globally.

Recently, the Indian Government introduced a Waqf Amendment Bill 2024, which has generated controversy and debate. This bill has also been referred to the Joint Parliamentary Committee for scrutiny. Our cover story deals with this in detail.

This is a 'Republic Day' Special focussing on the contributions made by freedom fighters at Andaman Islands. They were brutally tortured by the British and Japanese Authorities. Hundreds of them were killed. On this day (30th Jan) in 1944, 44 Freedom Fighters belonging to the Indian Independence Leagure (IIL) were shot dead by the Japanese Authorities without trial. As a mark of Homage to those brave martyrs, we are releasing this edition today.

Launch of 150th edition of eMagazine PreSense and eDigest PreSense150

The landmark of the 150^th edition of PreSense was celebrated in an event held at Chennai on August 24^th 2019. The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri Ma Foi K.Pandiarajan did the honours of releasing the eDigest, PreSense150 which is a compilation of select articles from the 150 editions of the eMagazine. Shri M.R. Sivaraman IAS (Retired), Former Revenue Secretary to Government of India and Former Executive Director, International Monetary Fund (IMF) was the Guest of Honour.

The Hon’ble Minister lauded the performance of the eMagazine and reminisced about his association with it during his early days as a corporate CEO. He suggested expanding the reach of the eMagazine as well as publishing the Tamil version of the eMagazine articles.

Shri Sivaraman in his message spoke about the role and responsibility of the journalists in the changing technology and environment of the media. His message was especially significant since he gave an elaborate presentation about his experience with the media in the earlier days of his career when journalists were “clean, matter-of-fact, polite and well-behaved and responsible” about the truth of the news he reported. In contrast, he found the journalists of the current trend less accountable.

He gave a detailed and comparative account of the role of the journalists and the media of the yesteryears vis-à-vis those of the current changing environment, and enumerated the key attributes of a good journalist. He concluded by saying, “journalism is an extremely important wing in the governance of the country.” The public must be informed and the media is the source of the information. The media as the fourth estate, is like the fourth leg of a chair which cannot stand on three legs.

Smt Rehana, Member of City of London Corporation, shared the experience of her journey from a corporate personality to a political figure. She appreciated the Next Gen Political Leaders (NGPL) initiative of PreSense. Shri Ramasubbu, former Member of Parliament (MP) and five-time Sansad Ratna Awardee also shared his experience and perspective as an MP and Awardee.

The launch was followed by a talk by renowned neurologist, Dr A.V. Srinivasan who spoke about ‘Brain Health’, and a panel discussion on ‘Current Trends in Media’. The expert panellists who participated were Shri T K Rangarajan MP, Shri Rangaraj Pandey, Founder and CEO, Chanakyaa and CEO, Vendhar TV channel, and Smt Banu Gomes, Popular Political Analyst. The discussions were moderated by Prime Point Srinivasan.

The third edition of the Collector’s Digest titled PreSense 130 was released at a function held in the evening of Saturday, 28th April 2018 at Chennai.

Former Chief Election Commissioner of India Shri T S Krishna Murthy released the print edition of PreSense130. Dr P Ganesan, Mg. Director, Vinayaka-Sony Fireworks Group, Sivakasi received the first copy. Shri R Bhagwan Singh, Executive Editor of Deccan Chronicle launched the online edition of the book.

Dr Devanathan Yadav, Chairman of Win TV and Smt. Srimathy Sridhar, General Manager of Chennai Circle offered felicitations. Many eminent persons of the city and readers of the eMagazine PreSense were present.

PreSense125 launched along with a new initiative of Students Forum for Digital Journalism

Coinciding with the second Remembrance Day of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, on 27th July 2017, 125th edition of ezine PreSense and the Students Forum of Digital Journalists Association of India (DiJAI) were launched at Dr MGR Janaki College of Arts & Science for women, Chennai. Dr Mariazeena Johnson, Pro-Chancellor of Sathyabama University was the Chief Guest and launched the initiatives. DiJAI is one of the initiatives of PreSense.

Susan Koshy, Editor of ezine PreSense tracing the history of the ezine PreSense explained the purpose of Students Forum. While delivering the inaugural address, Dr Mariazeena Johnson wanted a similar DiJAI Students Forum to be started in a grand manner in their University. Representatives from other Colleges who attended the event wanted a similar Students Forum to be launched in their institutions also. Presently DiJAI plans to launch the Students Forum in four or five institutions in the next six months.

Presently, DiJAI Students Forum is launched in two Chennai based Colleges, viz. (1) Dr MGR Janaki College of Arts & Science for Women and (2) Soka Ikeda College of Arts & Science for women. The student members were enrolled through a rigorous selection process by the College Authorities. Around 65 students from these Colleges are now enrolled in the Students forum.

Students from different domains with good writing skills (Tamil or English) and with a passion to become a good Digital Journalists were the only criteria for selection.

Before the launch of Students Forum, an exclusive interview with Dr Abdul kalam, recorded over phone in August 2017 by Prime Point Srinivasan (Editor in Chief, PreSense) was screened. In this exclusive interview, Dr Kalam has given six suggestions to Media persons to be part of national development. The six point agenda set by Dr Abdul kalam will be the focus for the Students Forum.

DiJAI will handhold the students to become a good Digital journalists focussing on positive and development journalism. The interview with Dr Abdul Kalam is embedded here.

After the launch of the DiJAI Students Forum, a workshop was held on the Digital Journalism. Details of the workshop with complete presentations will be given in the next posting.

The 125^th edition of your ezine PreSense will be launched on 27^th July 2017, coinciding with the second death anniversary of Dr Abdul Kalam.

Digital Journalists’ Association of India (DiJAI) is one of the initiatives of this ezine PreSense. PreSense and DiJAI will form ‘DiJAI Students’ Forum’ in three select colleges in Chennai (Sathyabama University, Soko Ikeda College of Arts & Science for Women and Dr MGR Janaki College of Arts & Science for Women) with 30 student-members from each college. On 27^th July, the DiJAI Students’ Forum will be launched at Dr MGR Janaki College of Arts and Science for Women, RA Puram, Chennai.

Dr Mariazeena Johnson, Pro-Chancellor, Sathyabama University will launch the 125^th edition and the Students’ Forum. A workshop on Digital Journalism will be held for the benefit of the Students Forum. As a tribute to Dr Abdul Kalam for his idea of ‘positive and development journalism, PreSense and DiJAI aim to promote his idea through the students. Based on the initial experience, we plan to take the plans forward to include other educational institutions.

Dr Raman Singh, Chief Minister, Chhattisgarh launching the 100th Prince cartoon

Dr Raman Singh, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh launched the 100th Prince cartoon at Raipur during the Cartoon Festival on 12th October 2016. 'Prince' is the cartoon character published in the emagainze PreSense since July 2008 edition. The first Cartoon with Prince character was launched by Dr Abdul kalam in July 2008 at Chennai.

From July 2008 edition, every edition of PreSense used to carry one Prince cartoon drawny Triambak Sharma, Editor, Cartoon Watch and a well known cartoonist in the North India. 100th Prince cartoon will be carried in the 116th (October 2016) edition of ezine PreSense. The eMagazine PreSense is being published by Prime Point Foundation.

On the suggestions of Dr Abdul Kalam, PreSense introduced cartoons. The Prince cartoon character was designed by Triambak Sharma on the lines of Common man of RK Laxman. Prince represents the modern youth wearing trendy dress.

Before the launch of Prince100, a video presentation by Prime Point Srinivasan was screened before the Hon'ble Chief Minister and the audience. Dr Raman Singh, Hon'ble Chief Minister appreciated the concept of Prince Character and appreciated the eMagazine PreSense for carrying the messages through cartoon character. Dr Raman Singh watched the video presentation with keen interest.

New initiative of Ezine PreSense - Publishing 'PreSense ebooklet'

The ezine PreSense, started in March 2006 has now completed 115 monthly 'digital only' editions. We started publishing 'digital only' editions from March 2006. Due to the growth of internet and technology, in future, digital only publications like eMagazines (ezines), ebooks, eNewsportals will gain more importance and acceptance. This ezine is being published by Prime Point Foundation.

Though our ezine PreSense is visible in virtual world only, PreSense has already taken up three initiatives of forming real world Education Loan Task Force (ELTF), Sansad Ratna Awards and Digital journalists Association of India (DiJAI). On this auspicious Vijaya Dasami day, we are pleased to announce 'PreSense-ebooklet', another digital only initiative.

As you know, ezine PreSense is being published on the first day of every month with contents on different themes. Presently, our editorial team members research the topics and write the contents in their names. Each article is confined only to two to three pages in A4 size (around 1200 words). We carry six or seven articles every month.

We find that digital reading is becoming increasingly popular, as they can be read in any device like phone, tablet, iphone, kindle, desktop, etc. ebooks are becoming popular nowadays. At the same time, people are interested to read less contents in a quick manner in the digital medium. They prefer less number of pages in the digital format, than what they could read in the print format.

Keeping the digital trends in mind, Editorial Team of PreSense has come out with a new initiative of 'PreSense -ebooklet'. This will provide opportunity to all, particularly youngsters, who aspire to become authors to learn digital writing. Unlike the ezine PreSense, PreSense-ebooklet will not have any periodicity. As and when ebooklets are ready, they will be released through groups and other channels like the ezine.

1. Maximum number of Pages 30 (around 9000 words) in A5 format. The ebooklet can be written on any theme, including economics, commerce, science, communication, interviews, etc. The content should be broken into several chapters. The author should ensure that another person edits the contents.

2. The contents should be only in English.

3. After approval by the editorial team, the PreSense-ebooklet will be released digitally. All the ebooks will be stored in the Library of our site www.corpezine.com. The ebooklet will be released under the PreSense platform with due credit to the author of the book. Every month, our ezine Presense will carry details about the ebooklet launched during that month along with a brief profile of the author.

4. Those who are interested to write an ebooklet on any theme may contact editor@corpezine.com for guidance about the structure, font, design, etc. The purpose is to make potential writers as 'authors'. For time being, there is no revenue model for this scheme.

100th Edition of Ezine PreSense was launched on Saturday the 27th June 2015 at Thakkar Bapa Vidyalaya, Chennai. Shri Lakshmi Narayanan (Vice Chairman, Cognizant) launched the hard copy of the 100th edition. The 100th Edition is a 248 page digest containing more than 100 selected articles and cartoons picked up from the past 99 issues. The book is titled "PreSense 100 - A Collector's Digest".

The soft copy of the book was launched by Dr Santhosh Babu IAS, Chairman, TNHDC. Since he was away at Kerala due to urgent work, he launched the softcopy remotely and addressed the audience through teleconference.

Smt Padmini Sharathkumar, Chief Marketing Officer of Polaris Group reviewed the book.
