Basically, we have N creatures living in our world. They behave according to a strategy defined by their DNA. In each generation they will do D iteration of a prisoner-dilemma game against every possible partner. After this, the bad strategies die, and the good ones will live and prosper in the next generations. Furthermore, there is a random mutation (like in real-life evolution) that introduces creatures for every possible strategy in every generation.
