I'm a 40-something-year-old, happily divorced woman. I like to think that I have the basic principles of my life in order: I take care of myself in the ways that matter most (physically, spiritually, emotionally, etc.); I have a career that I love; three beautiful, well-behaved children; and a nice, carefully-selected circle of friends on whom I know I can rely for anything that I dare ask should the need arise, and vice-versa. As a result, in my dating life, I'm more and more frequently approached by men who are anywhere from 5 to 15 (sometimes 20+) years younger than I am. I've actually been approached by men as young as 21. More women embrace their inner cougar

Evidence shows more ladies are embracing their inner cougar. When it comes to dating, there’s an unscientific, but prevailing opinion that older men want younger women and vice versa. Turns out, the opposite may be true for women on the online dating scene. Numbers culled from various dating sites have consistently shown both sexes prefer to date down the age spectrum rather than up. AYI (Are You Interested?), is one of the largest websites and apps designed to help users find their mates, but it works in an unconventional way. Users allow the app to access their Facebook profile, and people are then are paired based on interests. To sweeten the appeal, AYI also flags any mutual friends the prospective pair share. What’s Google got against cougars?

If you’re looking to meet a cougar, don’t go knocking on Google’s door. The G-crew, it would seem, isn’t so keen on G-spots. At least, not when they belong to the sex-crazed 40-something set. Google, you see, has apparently put the kibosh on ads for a cougar dating site called CougarLife.com. According to the National Post, Google stamped CougarLife’s ads as “non-family safe” and took them out of the AdSense rotation. The CougarLife team thinks the ban is arbitrary and unfair. Sharon Stone dating another younger man?

Actresses and hoteliers go together like Leonardo DiCaprio and blonde models. But is Sharon Stone joining a club that includes the likes of Chelsea Handler and Lindsay Lohan? The New York Post says the actress, 55, has hooked up with 46-year-old Hamptons hotel owner Michael Wudyka. The real cougar housewives of Bryanston. It might sound like a spin-off of a popular reality TV series - but yummy mummies remain all the rage. The Canadian online dating site Cougarlife.com - for single mothers, divorcees and singletons looking for younger men (or "cubs" as they are affectionately known) - has found that Bryanston is the cougar capital of Johannesburg, with three cougars to every cub. More than 34000 South Africans have signed up for the service since it was launched in November last year, and the majority of them (17800) live in the city of gold. Cougars no longer seen as taboo

As women get older it makes sense that they younger, more attractive gents will catch their eye. It used to be a taboo for a woman to date a younger man, despite men dating younger women, but now that has changed with many men wanting to find a cougar for themselves. Got MILF? Billboard for cougar dating site fails to make breastfeeding sexy

For some men and women, the image of a new mother breastfeeding appears beautiful, wholesome. For others it's discomforting. And for some it's apparently a complete turn-on. At least, that's what Cougar Life seems to think. Once again the dating service has steered the attention of L.A. drivers from the road to another classy billboard, this time featuring a young mother nursing her baby. The newborn asks, via a word bubble, "Jealous?" Well, are you? It seems many cubs may be, as the website boasts more than four million members. Sign-ups have also nearly tripled since Monday, when the billboard went up. Timed (in)appropriately with Mother's Day, the billboard sits on Sunset Boulevard "in the family friendly neighborhood near Sherbourne Street," according to a release. So why the placement?
