CIT interviewed former DoJ attorney turned Opus Dei influenced catholic priest (ordained 3 months before 9/11) Stephen McGraw on our first research trip with Dylan Avery before we knew about the north of the citgo witnesses.

I'd like to first say that when investigating a psychological black operation of mass murder it makes perfect sense to question testimony that supports the official story while giving more credence to independently obtained evidence that refutes it.

McGraw is a perfect example of how previously published accounts are used to support the official story without confirmation and investigation.

He has been cited quite often as a witness to the light poles being clipped by the plane because of this quote:

"The plane clipped the top of a light pole just before it got to us, injuring a taxi driver, whose taxi was just a few feet away from my car."

But he is not saying that he literally "saw" it happen and in our interview he clarified how he did NOT actually see the plane hit any light poles at all and merely deduced this after the fact.

Now this would be quite odd since he was allegedly in the perfect position to see poles 3, 4, and 5 right in front of him. Here is his alleged point of view:

But it actually makes perfect sense since the plane was north of the CITGO station and could not have hit the poles.

Another curious point that we didn't bring up in the short is the fact that although McGraw claims he was late to preside over a funeral at Arlington Cemetery.....he chose to abandon this commitment to get out of his car and offer his prayer "services" to the chaotic rescue effort at the Pentagon.

What about the poor family waiting for him at the cemetery? How could he abandon them? Why would he bother getting out of his car at all with such an important commitment?

We know for a fact that funerals continued at ANC despite the attack.

Middleton and his co-workers at Arlington continued to work Sept. 11 as Washington offices closed and buildings emptied. The cemetery crew had no choice. Funerals were scheduled and burials had to be completed, chaos and all. source

But it boils down to this.....

CL is insinuating that McGraw's testimony directly refutes the evidence proving the north side of the CITGO station approach even though McGraw specifically SAYS that he did not see OR hear the plane approach at all and only knew of it when he had a "sense" of it flying over his car.

"I was in the left hand lane with my windows closed. I did not hear anything at all until the plane was just right above our cars."

Because the north and south flight paths virtually converge on route 27 McGraw does not claim to be a witness to what side of the station the plane flew.

CL's blog is pretty much devoted to casting doubt on CIT personally as this paragraph blatantly reveals:

The issue is not whether or not McGraw, or Opus Dei, is suspicious but rather why do they try so hard with this witness while giving the others a free pass on the background check? I think the reason is plain to see. Perhaps these odd X-factors were known as they sought out a few token south path witnesses who could be found just as suspicious after their carefully-screened ‘verification.’

He is leaving the reader with pure speculation that our investigation has been deliberately deceptive without presenting a bit of evidence to support such an outrageous attack.

He is deliberately shifting the suspicion away from the McGraw and on to us, the independent citizen investigators trying to fight for 9/11 truth.

What's odd about this is that CL himself has accused all of the CITGO witnesses as being deep cover government agents who were planted to spread disinfo!

So ultimately he is suggesting that we should trust witnesses who support the official story while writing off the ones who refute it as government operatives!

This is the entire basis of his argument.

Former Italian President and the man who revealed the existence of Operation Gladio Francesco Cossiga has gone public on 9/11, telling Italy's most respected newspaper that the attacks were run by the CIA and Mossad and that this was common knowledge amongst global intelligence agencies.

I know, I know, Prison Planet is not well thought of, but they are quoting the former Italian PM who was originally speaking with an Italian Newspaper, Corriere della Sera.

As I have in the past, and will do again here, for anyone who doubts the US government has been involved in acts of civilian terrorism, look into Operation Gladio and the Strategy of Tension.

The Alex Jones show today welcomed Loose Change creators Dylan Avery and Jason Burmas to discuss an exclusive interview they have conducted with an individual with high level security clearance who was inside the Office of Emergency Management in World Trade Center 7 and has descibed and detailed explosions inside the building prior to the collapse of any of the buildings at ground zero on 9/11.

The interview, to be featured in the forthcoming Final Cut of Loose Change is currently under wraps but the creators have allowed some details to leak purely to protect themselves and the individual involved who has asked to remain anonymous until the film is released.

While details remain scant for obvious reasons, we can reveal that the individual concerned was asked to report to building seven with a city official after the first attack on the North tower but before the second plane hit the South Tower and before their eventual collapse, in order to provide the official with access to different floors of the building.

The city official he was escorting was attempting to reach Rudy Guiliani, who he had determined was inside building 7 at that time. According to Avery and Burmas this official now works for Guiliani partners.

The individual was also asked to provide access to the Office Of Emergency Management on the 23rd floor of the building, this was the so called "bunker" that was built inside WTC7 on the orders of Rudy Guiliani.

When he got there he found the office evacuated and after making some calls was told to leave immediately.

It was at this point that he witnessed a bomb going off inside the building:

"We subsequently went to the stairwell and were going down the stairs, when we reached the sixth floor, the landing that we were standing on gave way, there was an explosion and the landing gave way. I was left there hanging, I had to climb back up and now had to walk back up to the eighth floor. After getting to the eighth floor everything was dark."

The individual in a second clip detailed hearing further explosions and then described what he saw when he got down to the lobby:

"It was totally destroyed, it looked like King Kong had been through it and stepped on it and it was so destroyed i didn't know where I was. It was so destroyed that had to take me out through a hole in the wall, a makeshift hole I believe the fire department made to get me out."

He was then told by firefighters to get twenty blocks away from the area because explosions were going off all over the World Trade Center complex.

The key to this information is that the individual testifies this all happened BEFORE either tower collapsed, thus building 7 was at that point completely undamaged from any falling debris or resulting fires. It also means that explosions were witnessed in WTC7 up to eight hours before its collapse at around 5.30pm.

Avery and Burmas, who played the two short clips of the interview prior to further analysis and more clips to be played on their own GCN radio show later tonight at 7pm CST, further described how the individual had witnessed dead bodies in the lobby of 7 and was told by the police not to look at them.

This is vital information be cause it is in direct conflict with the official claim that no one was killed inside building 7. The 9/11 Commission report did not even mention building, yet here we have a key witness who told them he saw dead people inside the building after explosions had gutted the lower level.

What makes all this information even more explosive is the fact that this individual was interviewed by the 9/11 Commission as they conducted their so called investigation.

The fact that the building was not even mentioned in the report in light of this information thus becomes chilling and indicates that officials have lied in stating that they have not come into contact with evidence of explosive devices within the buildings.

Avery and Burmas successfully contacted the individual after discovering a TV interview he did on 9/11 while they were trawling through news footage from the day in research for the Final Cut.

Avery says that he can and will prove beyond any shadow of doubt that the individual was in building 7 on 9/11 and that what he is saying is accurate.

Iran welcomes US nuclear report

Iran has welcomed a major US intelligence report which suggests its government is not currently trying to develop nuclear weapons.

The latest National Intelligence Estimate says it is now believed Iran stopped its weapons programme in 2003.

Tehran has always maintained its nuclear programme is being developed purely for peaceful purposes.

But the US and other Western powers say Iran is trying to build a nuclear weapons capability.

Iran is currently under UN Security Council and unilateral US sanctions.

But the BBC News website's world affairs correspondent, Paul Reynolds, says the question of sanctions remains active because Iran is still defying Security Council calls for it to suspend uranium enrichment.

The standoff is now likely to continue indefinitely but at a lower temperature, he says.

Have America and Israel suddenly gone soft on Iran's nefarious nuclear-weapons program? Despite sanctions and UN Security Council resolutions, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is gleefully pressing forward with his efforts to build a bomb, which Israeli military intelligence now believes he will succeed in doing by 2009.

Indeed, just last Friday, the would-be Hitler of Persia boasted about how Teheran had "defied" Western opposition, and was now "moving toward the peaks of success step by step."

Yet even as Iran continues to progress down the dangerous road to an atomic arsenal, the tough talk emanating from Washington and Jerusalem in recent months has suddenly and inexplicably melted away.

And this should have us all very, very worried.

It was just last month that US President George W. Bush declared at an October 17 press conference that, "If you're interested in avoiding World War III, it seems like you ought to be interested in preventing them [Iran] from having the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon."

Bush's statement was followed four days later by an equally emphatic Vice President Dick Cheney, who told the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, "We will not allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon. Our country, and the entire international community, cannot stand by as a terror-supporting state fulfills its grandest ambitions."

Now, though, something appears to have changed. Various reports in recent days seem to indicate that US policy may have taken a sharp and terribly treacherous U-turn in the direction of acquiescence.

According to the Britain's Sunday Telegraph, the US Defense Department has begun updating its deterrence policy based on the assumption that Iran will obtain nuclear weapons.

The paper quoted a Pentagon adviser as saying that while "military strikes [against Iran's nuclear facilities] might set the program back a couple of years… current thinking is that it is just not worth the risks."

Similarly, Admiral William Fallon, head of US Central Command, which oversees military operations in the Middle East, told the Financial Times last week (Nov. 12) that a preemptive attack against Iranian nuclear installations is not "in the offing."

And, as Reuters reported, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is said to have instructed cabinet officials to draft proposals for how to deal with "the day after" Iran obtains the bomb.

WHAT IS going on here? Are we really prepared to allow the tyrant of Teheran to threaten our very existence? It is possible, of course, that these reports are merely part of the overall game-plan, and that they are aimed at lulling the Iranians into a false sense of security prior to a surprise attack on their nuclear installations.

Alternatively, it might reflect the shifting political realities in the US, where public opinion, goaded on by the mainstream liberal media, has turned against the war in neighboring Iraq.

But whatever the reality of the situation is, one thing should be clear: Iran can not and must not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons.

This is not an issue with shades of grey - it is about as black and white as they come.

And here are five good reasons why:

1. An Iranian nuclear arsenal would transform the strategic dynamic of the entire Middle East, shifting the balance of power squarely in the direction of radical Shi'ite fundamentalism.

An atomic Iran will be able to threaten the region and the world with nuclear blackmail and destruction, and they will use that leverage to further their fanatical and revolutionary aims.

2. A nuclear-armed Iran will pose an existential threat to Israel, and ultimately to the West too. Iranian leaders have repeatedly and explicitly promised to wipe Israel off the map and to strike at the United States.

Teheran has been backing up its words with actions by steadily improving its ballistic missile capability. The Shihab-3 missile, with a range of 1,200 km, can hit all of Israel as well as US military targets in the Middle East. Iran is busy developing the Shihab-4, with a range of 2,000 km, that will put parts of Europe within striking distance. Teheran is also striving to build even longer-range intercontinental missiles that can hit the US as well. All of these weapons have the ability to deliver atomic warheads.

3. If Iran goes nuclear, it will inevitably tilt the neighboring Arab states further in the direction of extremism, as they seek to mollify the nuclear-armed ayatollahs. Whatever limited chances there might be of drawing at least some Arab states into the moderate camp are likely to be stymied rather quickly.

4. Failure to take action against Teheran will trigger a region-wide nuclear arms race, as countries throughout the Middle East will seek to achieve strategic and military parity.

A number of states, such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia, have already announced plans to build their own nuclear power plants, and others will undoubtedly do so as well out of fear of being left behind. Permitting Iran to go nuclear essentially paves the way to a Middle East that will be brimming with atomic weapons.

5. If Iran were to develop "the bomb," what is to stop them from putting it into the hands of one of the myriad anti-Israel and anti-American terrorist groups that they support, such as Hizbullah or Islamic Jihad? Do we really want to take a chance that terrorists might at last be able to get their hands on nuclear weapons? This is not some "neocon nightmare scenario" or "warmonger wishful-thinking."

It is the cold, hard reality staring us all squarely in the face, unless Washington or Jerusalem takes military action, and soon.

CRITICS ARGUE that an attack on Iran would be logistically difficult, politically dangerous, and would result in some very serious consequences.

But as former US ambassador to the UN John Bolton told the New York Times (November 9), "The choice is not between the world as it is today and the use of force. The choice is between the use of force and Iran with nuclear weapons." And when looked at in those terms, it becomes quite obvious that there really is no choice at all: the US and/or Israel must bomb Iran. They must act to remove the nuclear sword from the hand of the Persian executioner.

And they should do so now - before it is too late.

As many of you know, two weeks ago I did a piece on 9/11 for ATS Premium about the Islamic Fundamentalists and the CIA connection starting with the war in Afghanistan between the CIA/Mujahadeen and the Soviets. This was a background piece on the whole 9/11 story, of just one of the groups involved.

What I would like to do next is look into the different theories that have grown up over the years. I'm NOT here for a discussion thread at this time, but rather to ask anyone interested to provide links to what you consider the best theory for what happened that day.

Please give me links that I can follow to a site or a thread that gives a clear presentation of these ideas, without me having to wade through months of back threads trying to glean information during often brutal arguments.

Much like a forensic investigation, I want to view all the evidence, no matter who makes the claim, or how unusual the theory. I have ruled NOTHING out on this, as I have made clear in the Premium thread. I simply want the best evidence with the least wasted time finding it for EVERY theory.

But please, again, this IS NOT the thread to convince me or anyone else the merits of a theory. Just point me to the spot that seems best to you to tell the story of what you think took place, and why it took place.

Thank you in advance for your assistance in this research.

ATS Premium: The Real 9/11 Conspiracy, The Invention of Islamic Terrorism

Introduction.

Let's forget all the silliness that has grown up around 9/11. Those wild eyed fairy tales of holograms and mini-nukes are not taken seriously by those of us with common sense. Some of us even wonder if these ridiculous ideas are being actively promoted as a smoke screen to keep everyone from taking a hard look at the reasons behind the attack. The powers that be love for the world to see these stories of ghost planes and Nostradamus and shapeshifting reptilians That way, anyone who speaks of 9/11 without piously standing shoulder to shoulder with this administration's policies and declarations on the matter can be wrote off as another nutcase.

It's downright unpopular to ask certain questions. Just to wonder if 9/11 was the result of US policies in the '80s and '90s can be a problem. Ron Paul said that it was "blow back", and he was immediately attacked as being unpatriotic. It is political suicide to ponder, out loud anyway, if the years of meddling in Islamic governments business resulted in them bring the fight home to American shores. But the question won't just go away, because a lot of people ask themselves if America played a role in the radicalization that portion of Islam that became Al Qaeda. Did America play Russian roulette with Islamic fundamentalists?

The Mudjahadeen Connection and the USSR's "Vietnam"

On July 3, 1979, President Jimmy Carters administration took a step towards ending the stalemate of the Cold War. A then secret directive was issued to funnel support to some anti-soviet "freedom fighters" in Afghanistan. It was all part of the game between the western powers and the old USSR. Just another move where pawns bled and died in proxy wars, as each side sought some advantage or the other.This time the idea was that America could use the growing civil unrest in Afghanistan to draw the Soviets into their own version of Vietnam. A war they couldn't win.

Western leaders felt safe in pushing a war half a world away. These "freedom fighters" could bait the Russian bear into open fighting, thereby draining the USSR of resources and the will to struggle. It would cost the Americans very little, and if it worked, the payoff would be a greatly weakened Soviet Union. It's doubtful that the planners of this venture were sure it would even work at all. But these were the days of the likes of Oliver North, and any plan was worth a shot.

Surprisingly, it worked like a charm. Before the year was out, the Russians came to Afghanistan to spread their form of Christmas cheer. The government in Kabul had been on the verge of losing control, and as a good client state, had invited the USSR to come and restore order. We may never know just how the CIA, America's chosen "front man" for this covert action, spent their money, but it's a pretty safe bet most of it went into destabilization of the Afghan government and causing civil unrest.

The US War Machine Playing Both Sides Against the Other

This was the start of an almost decade long war, and the CIA was hip deep in making sure it was a bloody one. Within weeks, then Secretary of Defense Harold Brown was dealing with China for weapons to be sent to Pakistan, and on to Afghanistan, to be used on Russian "peace keepers". To be sure that there was no shortage of arms, an additional $15 million was soon spent with Egypt for arms and ammunition, and ferried on US planes to the conflict.

We should take a moment to look at just who all these arms were being sent to. The group we were arming to the teeth in an effort to extract some "payback" for our own humiliation in Vietnam was a group calling themselves the mujahadeen. Taken as a whole, these "freedom fighters" were far from being upstanding citizens, by any stretch of the imagination. They were scarcely more than gangs, led by self-styled war lords. Gangs which for years had been fighting among themselves for control of the lucrative opium trade.

Mujahadeen translates into "holy warriors", a misnomer if ever there was one. While religion was a part of their overall life concept, it seems that money and power was as great a motivating force. Calling them holy warriors is like saying the L.A. gangs are Catholic Conservatives just because some of them wear crosses. A good example is is one well known leader of the time, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar. He was most widely known for throwing acid in the faces of women who refused to wear the veil, according to a report by Tim Weiner.

Historically, Afghanistan has been an isolated crossroads. Despite some modernization in the cities, it remains on a feudal level even today. In such an atmosphere religion too often is a tool of oppression and control. War lords use these kinds of tools to control their domain. The more brutal the slant taken by the clergy, the better the tool for the leaders. In such a setting, it is small wonder that Islam would be bent to use of these barbarians.

Radicalizing Islam for Strategic Benefit

But radical religion fit well with the goals of the US. Russia could be seen as a decadent society, and battling them could be seen as a holy work. Compared to the lifestyles of most people in Afghanistan, the Russians were too modern, too open, too evil. And with the money and guns that America supplied through the CIA, the power base of the war lords was growing. And as they grew, their ideas on what was right in a religious context grew. It was a vicious circle that America was feeding.

In a 1998 interview, Zhigniew Bresenski, one of the players of those days, spoke in an interview. He said, "What was more important in the world view of history?... A few stirred up Muslims or the liberation of Central Europe and an end to the Cold War?" Only a few short years later the WTC would fall at the hands of those same "stirred up Muslims". One has to wonder how he felt about it by that time.

The Plot Intensifies in The Reagan Years

During the Reagan years money and arms flowed like water. According to Ronald Spiers, then ambassador to Pakistan, the CIA sent a river of men and money, along with arms from China and Egypt, and even Iran. Assault rifles, land mines, antiaircraft guns, and grenade launchers; they sent anything and everything to keep the heat on the Russians. Pakistani General Mohammed Yousaf estimated that he saw over 10,000 tons of these items pass through Pakistan in 1983 alone.

And in March of 1985, the Reagan administration upped the ante some more by signing the National Security Decision Directive # 166,29. Now the CIA sent satellite data, even intercepted Soviet communications to the mujahadeen. America sent targeting devises for mortars, long range sniper rifles, and later even stinger antiaircraft rockets. And tons of the urban terrorists friend, C-4 plastic explosives.

It goes without saying that the US didn't just hand these over to a bunch of feudal barons barely out of the horse age without training them in how to get the biggest bang for the buck. While there isn't a much available information, logic assures us that there must have been a lot of training in the use of all these things. The CIA spooks surely spent time prepping this army of radical Islamic fundamentalists before aiming it at the Russian bear.

The US Created and Trained Radical Islamic Terrorists

In their short-sighted desire to extract some "payback" from the USSR, America armed and trained an Islamic force, infused with a radical religious viewpoint, to fight, and win, a guerrilla war against a modern regular army that was much like our own army. The CIA would rather we thought that everything was aimed at military targets during this time, but there can be no doubt that some of these arms, and the training to use them, were used in assassinations and car bombings as well. The US could hardly avoid being in the terrorist training business.

Now every army needs recruits, and this one was no exception. Pakistan journalist Ahmed Rashid has said that in the decade between 1982 and 1992, some 35,000 Muslims, from over 40 countries, answered the call to join up. Thousands more poured in to the religious schools set up near Pakistan's western border. In all, over 100,000 radical Muslim extremists were culled from the from the world's most radical groups. Common sense tells us that the overwhelming majority were already committed to the fundamental ideology before they ever left home for the hinterlands of Afghanistan. Osoma bin Ladin was one of these recruits.

The CIA Connection to bin Laden and Al Qaeda Takes Shape

CIA officials steadfastly deny past knowledge of bin Ladin, or at least of a paper trail. But in the trial of the Kenya embassy bombings evidence was shown that in at least 1989 he was the one they shipped a load of high powered rifles to. According to the Boston Globe, this was confirmed by the manufacturer of the weapons, a firm out out of Tennessee. But a paper trail is hardly the point anyway. The CIA ran this operation, and bin Ladin was on the team. Just because the Grand Wizard says he never saw some of the KKK members, it doesn't lessen his connection to them. The CIA produced this show, and bin Ladin was in the chorus line.

Around 1988, Al Qaeda (The Base) was born. Then as now, it was a terrorist network led by CIA trained men like bin Ladin. Men trained for war in Islamic fundamentalist religious schools in Pakistan. While the radical Islamic message was a wonderful bond for men facing the "godless communists", it was one that cunning leaders of the movement could aim at anyone. When the USSR tucked it's tale and headed north in 1989, an army of religious fanatics were left behind with no enemy worthy of their talents as a reason to go on.

The Weapon Turns on its Creator

It is small wonder that the better documented '90s saw Al Qaeda turn on the west, eventually declaring war in the only way they knew how, in the way they had been trained by the CIA to wage war. Without the USSR to fight, they needed some other high profile foe, and the "great Satan" of America was perfect for the role. Al Qeada took control of the Taliban, those returning orphans of war that had been raised on bloodshed and Islam, justifying it's existence by finding a reason to attack the west.

Consolidating power, terrorist attacks against western targets went on the rise, reaching a crest with 9/11. By attacking America at home Al Qeada showed the world that it was a power to be reckoned with. A well trained army, which these radical Muslims were and likely still are, is a danger to peace if they have no real ties to a home and hearth. A soldier without a war or a true home is like a mad dog.

Summary

In the final analysis, the western powers set themselves up for this war of terror. Could you be persuaded to change your mind?

A simple question: what would it take to convince you that the opposite view about 9/11 was correct.

I ask this to both sides of the debate, not in order to re-run tired, old arguments, but to get some simple ideas about how the discussion should/could develop. That said, part of me wonders whether, in the absence of any new material, the ongoing debate serves any real purpose other than for people to practice their debating skills.

As an example, to the 'truthers', what would it take to convince you that the towers' collapse sequence was broadly as described by NIST?

To the 'debunkers', the reverse: what would it take to convince you they were brought down in a controlled manner?

In both cases, please answer given the limitiations we face, i.e. no materials available for analysis; best endeavours as to the damage caused to the buildins by whatever you believe hit them, etc.

Given there are so many facets to the theories that surround 9/11, please don't limit your responses to what did or didn't happen to the towers. Consider what it might take to persuade you that Flight 77 did/didn't (delete as applicable) crash into the Pentagon building. What would it take to convince you that the 19 hijackers identified in the 9/11 Commission report did/didn't hijack and pilot the planes, and so on.

Let me start off by saying I have traveled to many U.S. government installations and bases thru out the world. I can't say that I believe 9/11 was a inside job but I do know that a few pieces of the puzzle are missing. If 9/11 was a inside job how many people would have been involved? An operation like this would have included 1,000s of people. If missiles were used on the bottom of the two jets, someone had to modify these jets to accommodate the alteration. If explosives were used in the towers, someone had to take the time to scale out the building, determine the locations of the explosives and install them. I guess what I am asking is all of the events that took place on 9/11 would have required a tremendous amount of people to execute this attack and it is in a humans nature to talk. The CIA, FBI, Civil Service, contractors, and military members all have friends and or family, and they all have a heart and a consciences. I don't care what kind of oath or what security clearance they held, If they were ordered or paid to carryout these missions don't you think that a few of these people would have had there consciences come into play. Someone would have leaked this information to the media or came forward with 100% proof that it was a inside job.

Pentagon "NTSB animation" is WRONG!

Pentagon no plane hoaxers take heed! The north of the Citgo flight path has yet another problem!

For those who don’t know, the new rage in no-757-strike-at-the-Pentagon is a double-corroborated "proof" that the plane posing as Flight 77 flew at such an angle - north of the Navy Annex and the Citgo gas station - that it COULD NOT have clipped the five light poles or cause the angled building damage attributed to Flight 77. This theory is bracketed on two ends by Citizen Investigative Team (featuring our very own ATS Conspiracy Master "Jack Tripper") and their video The PentaCon (which covers the eyewitness end), and their "brother organization" Pilots for 9/11 Truth (P49T, of which I believe fellow ATS master John Lear is a member), whose video Pandora's Black Box Chapter 2 calls on an "NTSB" flight reconstruction derived directly, we are told, from the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) of flight 77. While the eyewitness end and the FDR (as seen in the animation) disagree wildly on the plane’s altitude, they seem to agree on the damning flight path, and thus seemed well-poised to take down the official story.

For the moment I’ll ignore the CIT witness testimony (I’ve already said my bit over that, and don't have anything to add - yet) and look just at this animation; it contradicts the official story on several points, but what I’m looking at here is the flight path, the direction it was pointed in its final seconds.

The animation has other problems, which I feel a need to address again, including its NTSB authenticity (Paper Trail problems explained) It was supposedly sent to British researcher Calum Douglas (aka "Snowygrouch") after an FOIA request, in July 2006. Some info on this receipt and the difficulties of getting verifying data are recounted in this presentation by Douglas in Ipswich in March. Great viewing, some real WTF X-Files moments, like the (CSV file?) data being clandestinely translated for them by a corporate bigwig on a laptop in a hotel room!

Anyway, as Douglas and the P49T guys will tell, you, it's complicated stuff, and they put a lot of work into understanding how the data and animation fit together. Well, as "Snowygrouch" puts it, it’s not animation, since “animation implies some sort of fictitious content.” So he calls it a reconstruction. I’ll continue to call it an animation.

He'd been analyzing it for over six months before that speech in Ipswich, where he gave no clue that he ever stumbled upon the real problem with his animation I found in twenty minutes once I'd thought of it.

The American Society of Civil Engineers cite from the NTSB a magnetic heading for the plane at impact – 70 degrees from north - which they found consistent enough with the building damage to use it as an explanation of how the building was damaged the way it was. I Checked my jumbled “CSV” file [downloaded from P49T], and found a termination magnetic heading of precisely 70.0 degrees in the last frame of data. Then I looked closer at the animation, and see in the final moments a dial there reading 70, which I take to be the magnetic heading. Thus all FDR sources I can see match, even the animation. Yet one such mapping of that heading matches the official story while the same trajectory, once animated as in this case, is on a path to miss the light poles and rule out the angled building damage.

On further analysis I duly cheesed out. What was 70 degrees from what? How on Earth could I solve this problem? But after cutting my teeth on shadow reading, I decided to try common sense to get to the bottom of this discrepancy and with it the animation’s corroboration of the too-north-path. It wasn't too hard, really. I just checked that my map was oriented north, took that as 0/360 degrees, dropped a compass on it, drew a line at 70 deg and it matched the official flight path, the light pole clippage, and building damage. This is from FDR data downloaded from Pilots for 9/11 Truth, generally said to refute this path. This means we’re in business.

So I looked at how 70 degrees translated into that animation. I capped a frame of the plane passing over the Navy Annex area, nearly centered on what I determined to be Southgate Road (at a mag heading of 70 it says) and mapped that. Lo and behold, the path from there to the Pentagon, the path taken in the video, is NOT a 70 degree heading! It's 80 degrees, a full ten degrees off!

Thus claim that the FDR data shows a northern flight path contradictory with the official story is plain wrong. Actually looking at the data, all we see is 70, 70, 70, even right there on screen in the animation's heading dial. But they don’t zoom in on the number, but on the picture, which, if you map it out, is 80 degrees, not 70. Again, their too-north FDR data case is based on one thing and one thing only – the animation picture – and that is FLAT WRONG.

Can anyone here honestly see another explanation?

It’s still unclear whether the NTSB slapped this together themselves with such poor quality control and high mystery potential, if Calum had it made "based on the data," or if it was slipped to him in some other way so he'd truly believe it. But it's wrong, and as for his apparently not catching this simple-to-find discrepancy, well, that doesn't bode well for his credibility, nor that of the others who've cavorted with this "smoking gun."

Consider this hypothetical scenario:

A decision has been made to bring a WTC-type tower down in a controlled manner. The reasons are legitimate and irrelevant.

Time is taken to prepare the building in the proper way and the site is evacuated in advance.

If all of the core columns were blown simultaneously on one floor - say the 80th - would the building collapse as the towers did on 9/11?

If the collapse mechanism couldn't be replicated by the simultaneous removal of the core columns at one floor, could it be replicated by simultaneously removing the core columns at two floors? If not, how many?

If the collapse mechnism couldn't be replicated, why not?

I started having a similar conversation with one of your members in another forum but, unfortunately, that ended before I got to grips with his line of reasoning.

I read the one on the right in the first picture is genuine and origin authenitc therefore the left one was faked to suggest wtc7 fell due to damage at the base of the building when infact there wasn't any.

OAKLAND, California (AP) -- The tanker carrying 8,600 gallons of gasoline ignited after crashing into a pylon on the interchange, which connects westbound lanes of Interstate 80 to southbound I-880, on the edge of downtown Oakland about half a mile from the Bay Bridge's toll plaza.

Witnesses reported flames rising up to 200 feet into the air. Heat exceeded 2,750 degrees and caused the steel beams holding up the interchange from eastbound I-80 to eastbound Interstate 580 above to buckle and bolts holding the structure together to melt leading to the collapse, California Department of Transportation director Will Kempton said.

The charred section of collapsed freeway was draped at a sharp angle onto the highway beneath, exposing a web of twisted metal beneath the concrete. Officials said that altogether a 250-yard portion of the upper roadway was damaged.

I'm no engineer or architect, but this seems like pretty basic logic if you ask me. If you weaken the middle of a structure, the weight takes the complete top of the structure down in one piece. (view collapse photos or videos to see that the fire was midway up the buildings give or take.)

A simple question to which I've never received a satisfactory answer...

Put your conspiracist/originalist mindset to one side and consider this.

Assume the Port Authority decided, publicly, to bring the WTC towers down in a controlled manner. Would it be possible to initiate a global collapse, like the one witnessed on 9/11, by simultaneously blowing out all of the core columns between floors 75 and 80, and only between floors 75-80?

Generally, I'm not bothered when people tell me that the attacks on September 11th, 2001 were orchestrated by the federal government as part of a false flag operation to give the federal government an excuse to attack Afghanistan and Iraq.

"It's a conspiracy, man, the government is out to get us. You should see Loose Change, it'll change the way you think, man!" They say.

"You're an ill-informed, easily-manipulated patsy who will believe anything said to him as long as it's contained in a video with sinister music and disingenuous research tactics," I am tempted to respond. (But I don't because it is against the rules of the forum)

This type of stupidity and blatant distortion of the facts needs to be met with cold rationalism. Name calling, though entirely warranted when speaking to conspiracy theorists, really does nothing to correct their distorted world views in the same sense that urinating on a wall does nothing to change its position, either. For most people, the big picture argument is enough to discount any conspiracy theory. After all, why would the government stage the most elaborate, perfectly executed hoax as a means for attacking Iraq by using invented Saudi hijackers? Wouldn't a smattering of Iraqi, Iranian and North Korean hijackers have served our purposes better? Why hasn't anyone come forward about the cover-up? And just how did they get explosives in the towers without anyone noticing? These are the questions critical thinkers ask, and that's what naturally precludes them from the conspiracy theory community......*snip*

Let’s start with the assumption that 9/11 was an inside job, planned and executed by someone or some people within one or more US government agencies, with or without the involvement of non-US elements.

Now let’s suppose that WTC-1, WTC-2 and WTC-7 were brought down in a controlled manner; that Flight 77 did not hit the Pentagon; and that Flight 93 was shot down. I don’t want to appear defeatists, but is it actually possible to prove any of these suppositions?

Six years worth of analysis, debate and argument have not, in my view, taken us much closer to being able to establish that this was an inside job, despite what we ‘know’. Those who believe it was (and I include myself among them), excitedly latch onto media mis-reporting and label it a ‘smoking gun’, when in truth, it’s probably no such thing. We get all triumphant when one anonymous person is reported by Prison Planet to have heard a 20 second count-down to the WTC-7 collapse, when really, we need so many more corroborating witnesses to come forward before we can make such a claim stick. We trembled with anticipation when analysis conducted on its FDR and eyewitness testimony revealed Flight 77 flew north of the Citgo station, not south as the official story would have us believe, only to find that even the so-called ‘truth’ community cannot agree on the provenance of the source data and its interpretation.

Some of the contributions I’ve seen here and at other boards have been simply breathtaking. There are so many researchers, analysts and thinkers doing some extraordinary work in this field and yet I’m beginning to fear that it’s all in vain. I’m beginning to fear that we’ll be told when ‘they’ are good and ready to let us know; that 50 years from now a McCollum or Northwoods style document will find its way into the public domain, courtesy of the FOIA. And by then, of course, our grandchildren will be embroiled in another ‘inside’ job and, in any event, too dislocated from 9/11 to really appreciate the significance.

So, my question is, is our current strategy one that will ultimately enable us to prove our case? If not, what should we be doing differently?

It doesn't take a genius to work out how the pro and anti-conspiracy camps are going to interpret this one.

I'll set the ball rolling: compartmentalisation. If 9/11 was a US-backed false flag operation, it's entirely possible that KSM played a role without knowing it. In fact, compartmentalisation explains how so many people, both US and non-US, could have been 'involved' in 9/11 without realising it.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind of the September 11 attacks on the United States, has admitted responsibility for those and other major al Qaeda operations, according to the transcript of a hearing at Guantanamo Bay released on Wednesday.

"I was responsible for the 9/11 Operation, from A to Z," Mohammed, speaking through a personal representative, said, according to the transcript of the hearing on Saturday at the U.S. military prison camp in Cuba released by the Pentagon.

Mohammed, a Pakistani national, also said he was responsible for a 1993 attack on New York's World Trade Center, the bombing of a nightclub in Bali, Indonesia, and an attempt to down two American airplanes using shoe bombs.

"I was the operational director for Sheikh Usama [Osama] Bin Laden for the organizing, planning, follow-up, and execution of the 9/11 operation," he said through his representative, a member of the U.S. military.

The transcript said Mohammed was present at the hearing, which is to determine whether he meets the definition of an "enemy combatant."

Mohammed is among 14 prisoners identified by U.S. authorities as "high-value" terrorism suspects and transferred to Guantanamo last year from secret CIA prisons abroad.

He was arrested in Pakistan in March 2003 and handed over to the United States.

WASHINGTON -- Former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby was convicted Tuesday of obstruction, perjury and lying to the FBI in an investigation into the leak of a CIA operative's identity.

Libby, the former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, was accused of lying and obstructing the investigation into the 2003 leak of CIA operative Valerie Plame's identity to reporters.

He was acquitted of one count of lying to the FBI.

Libby had little reaction to the verdict. He stood expressionless as the jury left the room. His lawyer, Theodore Wells, said they were "very disappointed" with the verdict.

Special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald said he was gratified by the verdict.

"The results are actually sad," he added. "It's sad that we had a situation where a high level official person who worked in the office of the vice president obstructed justice and lied under oath. We wish that it had not happened, but it did."

The verdict was read on the 10th day of deliberations. Libby faces up to 30 years in prison, though under federal sentencing guidelines likely will receive far less.

U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton ordered a pre-sentencing report be completed by May 15. Judges use such reports to help determine sentences.

Libby faced two counts of perjury, two counts of lying to the FBI and one count of obstruction of justice. Prosecutors said he discussed Plame's name with reporters and, fearing prosecution, made up a story to make those discussions seem innocuous.

Libby's defense team said he learned about Plame from Cheney, forgot about it, then learned it again a month later from NBC newsman Tim Russert. Anything he told reporters about Plame, Libby said, was just chatter and rumors, not official government information.

Special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald said that was a lie. But Libby's defense team had argued that it would be unfair to convict Libby in a case where so many witnesses changed their stories or had memory problems.

Wells said he would ask the court for a new trial by April 13. Such requests are common following criminal convictions.

"Despite our disappointment in the jurors' verdict, we believe in the American justice system and we believe in the jury system," Wells told reporters outside the federal courthouse. "We intend to file a motion for a new trial and if that is denied, we will appeal the conviction. We have every confidence that ultimately Mr. Libby will be exonerated.... We intend to keep fighting to establish his innocence."

Libby will be allowed to remain free while awaiting sentencing, which is set for June 5.

As the verdicts were read, Libby's wife choked out a sob and sank her head. Moments later, she embraced the defense attorneys.

The jury acquitted Libby of one count of lying to the FBI about his conversation with Time magazine reporter Matthew Cooper.

Libby and his lawyers walked into the courthouse after Wells' statement, holding on to each other by the wrists, apparently so they wouldn't be separated in the crush of reporters and camera crews. They paused briefly when a cameraman fell.

During the trial, prosecutors said Libby made up a ludicrous lie to save his job during the CIA leak investigation by telling investigators he'd forgotten Cheney told him about the CIA status of Wilson's wife. Cheney had passed the information to Libby more than a month before Plame's identity was outed by conservative columnist Robert Novak.

Libby told investigators he learned of Plame's identity from NBC reporter Tim Russert, saying that he'd forgotten at the time he talked to the reporter that he'd been told of it earlier by Cheney.

Russert testified he never told Libby about Wilson's wife, and underwent a grueling cross-examination as Libby's legal team tried to discredit Russert's testimony.

Wells and Fitzgerald clashed over how important Libby and Cheney considered CIA officer Plame.

"The wheels were falling off the Bush administration" in the summer of 2003, Wells argued. How could Libby, serving Cheney as both chief of staff and national security adviser, remember Plame's job when 100,000 U.S. troops were in Iraq and hadn't found the weapons of mass destruction the administration had cited to justify the war? Wells asked.

"And he still had his day job of trying to prevent another 9/11" terrorist attack, Wells said.

Fitzgerald noted that eight witnesses, including an undersecretary of state, two CIA officials, two top Cheney aides, two reporters and former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer said they discussed Wilson's wife with Libby in a one-month span before Plame's CIA employment was publicly revealed.

Israel, Iran Top 'Negative List'

A majority of people believe that Israel and Iran have a mainly negative influence in the world, a poll for the BBC World Service suggests.

It shows that the two countries are closely followed by the United States and North Korea.

The poll asked 28,000 in 27 countries to rate a dozen countries plus the European Union in terms of whether they have a positive or negative influence.

Canada, Japan and the EU are viewed most positively in the survey.

'Traditional divides'

In January, the BBC World Service revealed polling results that suggested most people think the US has a mainly negative influence in the world - and that the numbers had increased significantly in the last couple of years.

This latest survey, mostly of the same people, confirms those findings.

Most negative image:

1. Israel - 56%
2. Iran - 56%
3. US - 51%
4. North Korea - 48%

But it also suggests that two countries are viewed even more negatively - first Israel, and then Iran.

North Korea is just behind the US.

Israel, of course, has long provoked sharp international reactions, and last year was involved in a controversial war in Lebanon.

Iran and North Korea have both been at the centre of international disputes over their nuclear programmes.

Canada, Japan, and the EU are viewed most positively, perhaps because they have all taken less high-profile roles in the world's recent confrontations.

India is one country in the survey that seems to have improved its standing in the last year.

In general, opinion seems to divide along the traditional fault lines of international politics.

Israel is viewed most negatively in the Muslim countries of the Middle East, although also in Europe.

Iran is viewed most positively in the Muslim world.

Japan is generally viewed positively, except in China and South Korea.

The EU similarly gets good marks, except most notably in Turkey, and also in parts of the Middle East.

Iran Plans To Nuke Europe, US - Sanctions Urged

Jerusalem ----- February 28, 2007 .... An Israel security official told the Israel News Agency that the recent launch of a missile from Iran into space illustrated a direct threat to both Europe's and US national security.

On February 25, Iran launched a missile reaching space. "Iran has successfully launched its first space missile made by Iranian scientists," the head of Iran's aerospace research center, Mohsen Bahrami, was quoted as saying. On Saturday, Iran Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said Iran was planning to build a satellite and launcher.

"Iran has no plans to land a man on the moon," Col. Adam an Israeli security source told the INA. "The same technology is used to build intercontinental ballistic missiles. This Iran space launch is not a threat to Israel. The Iranians need not reach a space orbit to attack Israel, but such a high orbit would be needed to deliver a nuclear payload into Europe or the US."

Iran launched its first satellite, Sina-1, into orbit from a Russian rocket in 2005 and has said it planned to modify its Shahab-3 missile, which Iran says has a range of about 2,000 km (1,250 miles), to launch satellites. Bahrami said the missile was built by his center in cooperation of the Defense and Science Ministries. He gave no further details. Despite announcing what would be a major advance in Iran's missile technology, the news was mentioned only once by the main state TV news channel and was not carried by other Iranian official media.

"Take a look at the news media, you don't see a word about this launch today," said Adam. "Western governments were not prepared for Iran to have a nuclear delivery system up and running. Intel is hard to come by regarding Iran. It is very difficult to have real time Intel coming from Iran as it is difficult for operatives to penetrate Iranian society. Most of our Intel comes from external sources, and these sources are reactive, passive, not proactive."

"If we don't see severe economic sanctions coming from Europe in the next few weeks, we will witness a catastrophe," said a source at the Israel Ministry for Foreign Affairs. The source would not give his name because he would lose his position, but the matter of urgency had him staring at this writer praying to get the message out.

"Iran is no different than Nazi Germany", the MFA source said. "They too built up an army, resources and created the V-2." The V-2 was the first man-made object launched into space, during test flights that reached an altitude of 189 km (117 miles) in 1944. "While Germany was putting the finishing touches to the V-2 which was eventually used against Britain, the world stood by wanting to talk. Now we have Iran repeating history, declaring to "wipe Israel off the map" while planting bombs in Iraq and Afghanistan, one which nearly killed US Vice President Cherney during his visit there a few days ago."

"We have two options. The West can attack Iran which would provoke both Iran and Syria to respond with chemical weapons or we can place immediate and severe sanctions on Iran, thereby reducing their ability to create and use atomic weapons against the West. One should understand Iranian fundamental mentality. These people are not threatening the "infidels" of the West, they are promising to attack as soon as they have both the delivery and nuclear weapons capability."

Security analysts in Europe state that two overriding EU security interests are at stake: avoiding a war with Iran and preventing Iran from becoming a nuclear power. These two apparently contradictory interests can be reconciled and translated into a common strategy by adopting a three-pronged approach based on efficient isolation, effective containment, and direct negotiations.

The U.N. Security Council has recently slapped sanctions on Iran that bar the transfer of technology and know-how to Iran's nuclear and missile programs, a move that was pushed for by the West because of fears that Iran is seeking to build atomic bombs. Tehran says its nuclear program is purely civilian and aims to generate electricity. The Iran defense minister was quoted by a newspaper as saying: "Building a satellite and satellite launcher, as well as (previously) launching the first Iranian satellite called Sina with Russian cooperation, and becoming a member of the space club, are part of the Defense Ministry's plans."

It is up to Europe to prevent the two worst developments in Iran - war and nuclear armament - by acting jointly and with determination. Vital European and transatlantic interests are at stake. It is thus Europe's responsibility - and especially Germany's, as the current EU president - to act now.

Iran said yesterday it would never suspend uranium enrichment as demanded by the West, a day after world powers agreed to work on a new UN resolution to pressure Tehran to back down over its nuclear program. Officials from the five permanent UN Security Council members - the United States, France, Russia, China and Britain - plus Germany, who met in London on Monday, also said they were committed to a negotiated resolution to the standoff. The United States, which says "all options" are on the table while insisting it wants a peaceful solution, has ratcheted up pressure by sending a second aircraft carrier to the Gulf.

"Suspending uranium enrichment is an illegal and illegitimate demand ... and it will never happen," Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki was quoted by the official IRNA news agency as saying. Another agency said he backed atomic talks but without preconditions. Iran's open refusal to halt enrichment, a process it insists it only wants to make fuel for nuclear power plants, is echoed by some Iranian officials in private, suggesting the public pronouncements are more than just rhetoric. US State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said after the London meeting world powers would hold phone talks on Thursday to discuss elements of a new resolution.

Clearing its stand on the Iran nuclear standoff, China has said that it did not favor the use of sanctions on Iran. Beijing has called for the peaceful resolution of the Iranian nuclear issue through diplomatic means. "Sanctions are not the purpose," Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Qin Gang said. "Any move of the Security Council should help resolving the issue through peaceful and appropriate means," he said adding hat Beijing's stand on the issue is consistent. "We advocate a peaceful solution through diplomatic negotiation," he added.

China has significant business ties and energy interests in Iran.

"Iran which denies that a European Holocaust ever took place, is now planning to create a second Holocaust in Europe and in the US," said the Israel MFA source. "Europe will be first to feel this nuclear suicide bomb, as London, Moscow, Madrid, Rome and Paris are now in range of Iranian missiles. We no longer have the luxury of time to implement sanctions. This is not a movie. This is not the "24" TV series about nuclear terrorism. This is real. Sanctions worked against North Korea, they can and will work against Iran."

"Iran has over 20 intermediate range missiles that can reach continental Europe," stated Riki Ellison, President of the Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance. "These 20 BM-25 missiles were purchased from North Korea in 2005 and are a variant of the Soviet SS-N-6 (R-27) submarine-launched ballistic missile. With a range beyond 3,000 kilometers, these missiles pose a direct threat to central Europe." Last week Iran launched a sub-orbit missile that traveled 94 miles into space and declared their intent to launch satellites in the near future. On last week's launch of a sub-orbital missile by Iran, Ellison noted that "Having orbital satellite launch capability, Iran would have access to deliver payloads to anyplace on earth, as was first powerfully demonstrated 50 years ago by the Soviet Union's launch of Sputnik in 1957."

Now here's an interesting video. It's an extract from the BBC's live coverage on 9/11, beginning shortly before 10:00pm (5:00pm EST). At 9:47 (4:57 EST), the collapse of the 47 storey Building 7 is announced. At around 10:10 (5:10 EST), BBC reporter, Jane Standley, gives an interview from New York in which she gives a little more detail of the collapse.

The problem is that Building 7 didn't collpase until around 10:20pm (5:20 EST) and it can clearly be seen standing behind Jane Standley during her interview (16 mins in, for those who don't want to watch the whole thing). What's more, the collapse would have appeared live, during Standley's interview, were it not for the fact that the feed mysteriously fails at around 10:15 (5:15 EST).
