“Hi! My name is Tammy Matthews, a.k.a. “Bizzimom”. I’m your typical busy mom, married with three children and live in upstate New York. In addition to my workload here at Bizzimom Planners, I’ve been working part-time as an R.N. to help cover some of my costs. So how did an ordinary mom with no formal business background venture into the business world?

Simply put, I became increasingly frustrated with the previous day planners and other mom organizers that were out there. Although some of them did have some pretty neat features, they lacked the practical space and function that I so desperately needed.

As my three children have grown, so have their ever-changing schedules and activities. I realized that the schedule of a busy mom was anything but 9 to 5. Running out of space on my daily calendar, missing appointments and practices started to become a stressor.

Frequently I found myself wandering around the calendar/ planner and organizer sections of many stores, on a mission to find the “ideal
planner”. Many of you moms out there can probably relate to the multi-planner juggle, the wall calendars, the pocket calendars etc…

In 2004 , a “light bulb” moment happened one day while sipping my coffee. Within a year I designed a prototype of what I considered to be the ideal “mom’s planner”.

The Bizzimom Planner (currently known as the Bizzi2Go™ Planner) was created, having a flip-out design which affords a generous amount of writing space with a full monthly view. Being a visual planner, I found it to be incredibly helpful to see the month before me! Both sides of the flip-out design of each month are used to maximize space and increase its practical function. So, What Did I Really Think?

I am really in love with this planner. I have been searching for a planner that has large sections to write, but fits easily inside my purse and this is the first planner that fits my personal needs. I chose to review a 2010-2011 academic planner with a picture window so that I can keep my kids close to me even when I am on the go. This planner runs from August 2010 to August 2011 which covers fall, spring, and summer semester for me! It is perfectly spiral bound which makes it easy to flip and write as well as view pages quickly and easily. The unique flip out month design all the view of the whole month at one time with plenty of room to write. And best of all… all of these products are printed and assembled in the USA!! I am really interested in picking up a leather cover to prolong the life of my current planner.

Overall, I really loved the planner. It has been a staple in my everyday life and I would highly recommend this to anyone currently looking for a new and innovative way to stay organized this school year.

So, What Did We Really Think?

I thought it was sooooo much fun!!! Really! We Love Colors offers over 50 color options in a variety of tight options including solid tights and fishnets for children and women. They also offer a variety of dance and gymnastic leotards and unitards. You can also find a large selection of socks, gloves, and laces for men, women and children! Spice up your wardrobe with a collection of out of this world colors! As with all tights… it is best to hand wash your tights and to dry them flat to keep the shape and avoid snags.

We decided to try out a pair of fishnet stockings in fuchsia. We wanted something that would compliment several of Serenity’s summer outfits…. And it turns out.. that my little girl.. really can ROCK anything. The color was bold and vibrant.. and looked amazing with her outfit. We got many compliments on our outings. We are also interested in trying the solid colors for her dance practices.. and they leotards would also be great for rehearsals.

So, What Did We Really Think?

We had the opportunity to try out the Alphabet Squiggle game.. which was a perfect choice for us with Serenity entering Pre-K. We have been working hard on handwriting and letters and this was a fun new way for us to do that.

How to Play: This is a double sided board game that allows you to chose whether you would like to practice capital or lowercase letters. You simply roll the dice and move along the board. For any letter that you land on.. you write the letter either freehand.. or by tracing the example on the board. There are many options as to what you can do next with the letter… creative kids and turn it into a picture, write a word that starts with is, or draw an item that starts with that particular letter. The options are endless and allow you to come up with your own variations for keeping your kids excited about the game.

Overall, the idea is simple, but engaging for young kids who are not only excited about playing games, but excited about learning their letters.. and learning to read. Serenity LOVES this game.. and is really mastering her letters at record speed. We are working intently on writing her name.. and this game has really helped us with letters that are less familiar to her such as “y”.

Caeden is excited about the game too.. he loves to move the pieces for everyone.. and tries really hard to write letters… which mostly end in scribbles, but he is soooo proud of himself. I think this game will be extremely beneficial for him in the future being that it appears he is left-handed and neither Heath or myself are left-handed.

This is the PERFECT back-2-school gift for your kids!!!

Every year, we take a trip to the beach with the kids. This year it was a little harder to plan because of my work schedule and Serenity’s birthday.. but we finally made it there and the kids had a blast. This was not Caeden’s first trip to the beach, but it was one he can remember and run and play on the beach. He had a BLAST. He was not afraid of the water or waves.. and loved playing in the sand. Serenity loves the beach, but she is like me in that we hate the sand all over! Haha!! The kids teased the sea gulls and we showed Heath our home remedy for removing sand… baby powder!!
