We are glad to introduce you the winner of our Street Of The Week #12. An irresistible shot by 頑固爺 / omgom (flickr nick)

The photograph was taken in Tokyo. While the Brazilian dancer shake her pelvis, a nearby group of children look at her performance astonished. It’s a brilliant composition, you can actually notice how their expressions vary from the youngest to the oldest of the people on the right. The man on the upper right corner looks pretty glad to look at the show, while the children are sort of puzzled.

You can find the other beautiful work of omgom in his flickr account.

Here we are back with our Street of The Week number 11. This is our winner, a great capture by Louis Templado.

Almost an ode to the street smoker, this photograph. No one is looking at the camera but for the man in the ad which is the only one that has unvelied our presence, with his index finger pointed to the observer. The smokers’ game of expressions and pose is priceless. So much to look at and explore in this frozen moment, very cleverly captured and framed. Congrats to persimmonous, a great street photographer.

You can find more of Louis’ work on his flickr account, and personal website. Louis works as a journalist for the Asahi Shimbun newspaper, and he will soon start writing for www.asahicamera.net, the online version of the the magazine Asahi Camera.

We are glad to announce the winner of our SOTW#10, this fascinating shot by Rafael Alcacer.

It appears like a family situation, but the choice of the moment, and the composition makes it unique. A demonstration of the value of the moment and composition in Street Photography. The two boys walking with big synchronized steps towards the two women, which one could suppose being their mothers. The body language is important here. Something is unfolding before our eyes, something ‘suspended’, we don’t know what it’ll be about.

We suggest to take a look at the eclectic work of Rafael, you can find him in flickr, in strange.rs and you can read an interview with him on la pura vida.

Here is the winner of our SOTW#9, this incredibly suggestive shot by Igor Moukhin.

Taken in Red Square in Moskow, in front of the GUM (ГУМ – the former State Department Store of the Soviet times), this shot depicts two misterious men in uniform waiting near an access door. Despite the very retro look of this picture, it was taken in 2005, by Igor Moukhin.

The use of shadows and composition is exemplar in this shot, the man in the foreground has the face half-hidden by the shadow of his hat which, thanks to the harsh light conditions, acts like a razor, that seems to proceed its irregular pattern on the wall behind him. Intriguing stories can be sketched from this unique shot, stories about security agencies and espionage activities.

We strongly recommend looking at the work of this photographer on his flickr photostream and his personal website. If you love Street Photography you can’t miss Igor Moukhin’s photos.
