Kochadaiyaan puts Deepika in trouble

Deepika Padukone’s decision to opt of Race 2 has put her in trouble. The actress reportedly agreed to star in Race 2 but with Soundarya Rajinikanth offering her a role in Kochadaiyaan, the actress decided to move out of Race 2.

Following this, Race 2’s producer Ramesh Tharani of Tips Films has filed a complaint against Deepika at the Producers’ Council and Actors’ Association in Mumbai. A notice has been issued to Deepika to offer an explanation for opting out of Race 2. If her explanation is not satisfactory, Deepika might have to face a red card, say sources in Bollywood.

The production house will churn out 3 big budget movies every year and for now they have signed Venkat Prabhu to make the first movie. The director will commence this project, once he is done with Suriya’s next film.

The other film will be directed by a successful director, who recently gave a super hit movie and the details will be unveiled shortly.

Mupphozhuthum Un Karpanaigal starring Atharva and Amala Paul, directed by its producer Eldred Kumar has turned red hot. Jackie Shroff will be doing a role in Kochadaiyaan, we are told. The star was seen in the critically acclaimed film Aaranya Kandam, and Tamil fans have a taste of his acting. Producer Muktha Seenivasan and his nephew Muktha Govindan have joined hands for the production house Muktha Entertainment. They will be producing a film to be directed by Venkat Prabhu. According to a press note from the producers, they are planning to produce at least three high budget films every year.

Suriya has been roped in to play the lead role in this film. The heroine has not been finalized yet. The project is expected to start rolling once Suriya gets back from the KV Anand directed Matraan.

The buzz around tinsel town is that actress Nayanthara is sending feelers to K-town in an attempt to make a comeback, now that she has reportedly broken up with beau Prabhu Deva.

Sources say that the Billa girl’s strategy is working in her favour and she has reportedly signed a Telugu movie opposite Nagarjuna, for a whopping remuneration of Rs 1.2 crores. Now, a little birdie tells us that Nayan has also been approached by none other than director Vishnuvardhan to play leading lady opposite Thala Ajith in his next.

Initially, producer A.M. Ratnam wanted dusky actress Anushka to do the role, but she can’t spare the required dates as she is busy with other Tamil films. Around the same time, the news about Nayan being ready to act once again spread like wildfire.

When this newspaper contacted Vishnu, he did say that talks are on with Nayanthara for the untitled movie. “Yes, we are considering Nayanthara for the film opposite Ajith but we haven’t signed her on yet.”

When asked if he wants to recreate the Billa magic with this fascinating pair, he laughs and says, “I have to think of something fresh and new.” About Ajith essaying a dual role, he clarifies, “No, Ajith sir plays only a single character.”

Meanwhile, a miffed Prabhu, who was shooting at Badami in Karnataka with lead star Akshay Kumar for his Bollywood film, Rowdy Rathore, cancelled the shoot after hearing the stories about Nayan. A unit source tells DC that Prabhu was in a cheerful mood and had even brought his children to the location for a few days, until the rumours about him and Nayan splitting up started spreading in the media.

Apparently, the producers of Rowdy Rathore were in for a shock when Prabhu gave a flimsy reason for calling the shoot off, saying that he needed more junior artistes for a vital scene to be shot that day, causing a huge loss. There were already 300 junior artistes on location at the time.
