A recent conversation Ajith had with Selva, who gave Ajith a lead role in his film Amaravathi, ended in Ajith expressing interest to act in Selva's direction again. However, the movie has to be the remake of Ninaithaale Inikkum, Ajith seems to have wished. Selva has already had success with the remake of Naan Avan Illai a few years back and is quite familiar with the process.

But will KB, the owner of the script, part with it and allow a remake? That's for time and Selva to tell. Ajith, on the other hand, is happy to take up Kamal's role in the original despite its brevity since it's a powerful role.

The crew patiently waited for 2 days in vain for her arrival. She, however, notified that she had some emergency cropped up and that she could not make it. Although emergencies are perfectly acceptable, the crew felt that it's only professional to inform them about it. Good point!

The glam doll Shriya, who is lacking with offers these days has reportedly signed Kannada director Roopa Iyer for a Tamil/Kannada bilingual film.

Roopa Iyer has confirmed the news saying, “Shriya has given her nod to don the female lead in Chandra and the story revolves around the love story of the princess before Independence. Prem Kumar will play Shriya’s love interest in this love story that is being filmed based on the real story taken from the lives of princesses after India became republic.” PHK Doss will crank the camera for this love story.

Chandra will be Shriya’s first Kannada film as the lead lady, who had earlier done a cameo in the Puneet Rajkumar starred Arasu. Shriya’s spokesperson confirmed saying, “Yes, Shriya has signed the film. She got many offers earlier but couldn’t accept due to date issues.” There is a buzz in tinsel town that director has approached Ramya, Amrita Rao and Aindrita Ray before she roped in Shriya. On this he said, “It is very common in tinsel town, it is up to director, on whom she selects as heroine.”

Rajini flies down to Hong Kong

Rajinikanth and the Kochadaiyaan team flew down to Hong Kong, say sources. The third schedule of Kochadaiyaan will happen in Hong Kong and the film’s director Soundarya Rajinikanth along with the rest of the cast and crew are now camping in that country to complete the shoots.

Director KS Ravi Kumar, who is in charge of the story, screenplay and dialogues, has also travelled along with the team. Scenes involving Deepika Padukone and Rajini will be shot in there for about one week, say sources.

It may be mentioned here that the first schedule of shooting happened in London and the second schedule in Kerala.

“There is an all-important character in Thupaki apart from the one Vijay is doing. When Sarath was approached for the role, he listened to the script and happily accepted the offer,” say sources.

Sarath, a bankable hero by himself, has been spearheading a change in Tamil cinema. The MLA, who is the chief of All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi, is creating a trend by being part of multi-starrers like ‘Pazhassi Raja’, ‘Kanchana’, ‘Mynaa’ (Kannada) and ‘Kochadaiyaan’.

A.L. Vijay has finished the script for his next with Vijay that is titled as Thalaivan, which is touted to be an action entertainer that will have music by G.V.Prakash. Meanwhile Madrasapattinam director is busy with Vikram, Anushka, Amy Jackson, Lakshmi Rai and Jagapathi Babu starrer Thaandavam.

The Oru kal Oru Kannadi music composer speaking about Suriya and Kajal starrer Maatraan said, “Maatraan album is almost done with its work, the entire album will be ready within a month of time and the makers are planning to release the audio soon.” Further he added, “We finished 3 songs in 7 days; Composition for album of Maatraan was done in 6 countries. KV Anand and I traveled on a cruise and the ship has touched many countries in its journey, mostly along the Mediterranean Sea and the idea was entirely Anand’s.”
