Tassel Garland DIY

Lets add color to life!

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Crep paper/ Tissue paper
2. Scissors
3. Fariy lights
4. Tape (optional)

METHOD:

1. Use crepe paper or tissue paper (here crepe paper is used). Cut into desired size ( 50 x 20 cm).
2. Fold vertically towards yourself so that you get the fold on top and the open paper on the bottom.
3. Again fold horizontally (ruff folds) , fold this as many time you want, and cut the paper into strips.
4. Open all the folds and lay it on a flat surface.
5. Roll the middle uncut part on top of each other and twist it to hold the paper in place.
6. To attach the tassel to the lights just overlap both the tassel sides on top of each other and twist against the lights if necessay secure with tape.

This gives such a pop of color to my room and it is hung just above my bed. At night I like to turn just these lights on and it makes my little heart happy.

Eye Pillow DIY

Here is a pillow cover DIY after a very long time. This is super fun and an amazing way to spice up any pillow cover.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Pillow cover

2. Fabric color

3. Paint brush

For DIY Pillow cover:

1. Fabric

2. Scissors

3. Glue

METHOD:

1. If you want to make your own pillow cover from start here is the post on how to make it.

1. Take the pillow case and put some newspaper inside it so that when we paint it the color may not transfer to the other side of the pillow.

2. Start painting the eye pattern with fabric colors.

Start by lightly drawing the outline of the eye and then going onto it to make it thicker, if you are not comfortable of drawing directly with the paint on the pillow cover then use pencil or chalk to draw whole pattern then go on the outline with fabric paint.

Let the color dry (read the instruction on the bottle of the fabric color on how long you have to keep it to dry) and later iron the pillow case from the back side so that the paint becomes permanent.

There you go you have your eye pillow ready and I am so happy to see the way it turned out.

Summer Inspired Crop Top

Hey everyone! how's it going? I am back with another summer inspired DIY.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. T-shirt
2. Scissors
3. Fabric colors
4. Cardboard

METHOD:

1. We are making a crop top so we need to cut the bottom, the length totally depends on you and still if you are not pretty sure what length you want the crop top to be then you can take a crop top that you already have and take the length according to it.

After cutting the bottom stretch the ends so that it curls and looks neat.

2. Now I am obsessed with pineapples so I went with the pineapple design. To be more precise when it comes with coloring on the fabric I drew the top of the pineapple on a piece of cardboard and cut it out thus giving us a stencil.

Dab the color onto the fabric with the help of the stencil with a sponge brush or any other brush or a sponge itself will do the work.

3. Later I free-handed the body of the pineapple but you can even draw the whole pineapple on the cardboard as well.

Let the color dry fully and once it dried place a fabric on top of the pineapple and iron it or you can even iron from the back side, this makes the color permanent onto the fabric, for more information read the instructions on the bottle of the fabric color.

DONE!

Forever21 Inspired Cat Ears DIY

CATS!! I am a very big cat person also a dog person okay both 😝😝. If you are like me you would love this DIY project. I have seen these cat ears in Forever21 and they are pretty expensive for a cat ears and they are totally DIY-able. If you are on a budget and still want to look cute I got you!😉 I made these cat ears for under 70 Rupees that's like so cheep. Keep reading to know how to make this super cute cat ears.

SUPPLIES:

1. Head Band
2. Pipecleaners
3. Form Flowers
4. Glue

METHOD:

1. Use two pipe-cleaners each for one ear and fold it into half and twist and turn the ends to the head band so that it stays in place and form the shape of cat ears by bending them, pipe-cleaner are very easy to bend and to give shape.

2. Secure the pipe-cleaners in place with glue so that it does not shift from its place.

3. Glue the form flowers in any pattern desired,I choose an alternating pattern of white and pink flowers. Let it dry.

DIY Crop Top

Summer is here that means the season of wearing shorts, crop top, bikinis and stuff like that. I love crop tops and its perfect for summer. In this DIY project I am going to show you how easily you can transform your old/new long tshirts into crop tops !

SUPPLIES:

1. T shirt

2. Scissors

3. Lace

4. Fabric glue

METHOD:

1. Crop it

We are making a crop top so it is obvious that we need to crop the t shirt into desired length.

Wear the t shirt first and mark how long you want it to be and cut it using sharp scissors, you can mark with the help of scale first and then cut to get even lines.

2.Attach the lace

Cut the lace according too the size of your waist and glue it to the bottom ends of the crop top by doing this the crop top will have clean and nice ends. Let it dry completely before you try it on.

You can get so creative with this by using different laces of different colors, add sequences and much more. You are the designer you can make it as you like and have fun with it.

Pom Pom Keychain

Hey guys!😀 Its been a very long time since I posted anything here that was because I was busy with my college assignments and tests, but now its vacation for me that means get ready for so many DIYs.

Lets talk about today's project, in this DIY project we will learn how to make these adorable pom pom keychains and they are super easy and look cute. You can make them in any color but I decided to make them in some bright colors inspired by summer. So lets begin!

SUPPLIES:

1. Thread (woolen thread used here)

2. Scissors

3. jump ring

4. Keychain ring

METHOD:

1. Creating the base

Wrap the thread around your finger a couple of times, the more you wrap it around the more the pom pom would be bigger. I took a thread that had alternating colors of pink and white if you don't have any thread like this then you can even use two different colored thread together or as many colored thread you like and wrap around your fingers.

2. Tie a knot

Once you are done wrapping the thread around your fingers then slowly remove it from your fingers and take a piece of thread and tie a knot in the center to hold all the threads together.

3. Jump ring

Attach a jump ring with the help of the the thread that we just tied in the middle.

4. Snip the sides

Cut the sides as shown in the picture bellow, do it to both the sides. it will look a bit weird when its cut from both the sides but don't worry, spread out the threads in all the directions and give it a little haircut so that it looks even and fluffy like a ball that it should be.
Attach the keychain ring to the jump ring and your pom pom keychain is ready!

Attach them to your bag, wallet, use it as a keychain and the possibilities are endless! And now whenever anyone asks you where did you get this from then you can proudly say that I made them!😎

DIY Emoji Keychain

This is the age of emoji! LOL we can say that, our conversations don't look like conversations until there are no emoji. So I thought to bring the virtual word emoji into the real world and make these adorable emoji keychains.

SUPPLIES:

Felt (yellow, red, black)
Scissor
Glue/thread and needle
Stuffing
Jump rings
Keychain rings

METHOD:

Make the body of the keychain:

Take something round and use it as a guideline to trace out two circles from the felt.

Glue the pieces together:

Glue both the felt pieces together and leave a small opening to flip it inside out and later stuff in some stuffing and glue the opening.

Add the details:

Cut the details with black and red felt and glue it in place. Let it dry and then attach the keychain rings and your emoji keychain is ready.

I am super obsessed with these so I made a bunch of these.
This make a good gift to give it to loved ones or you can use it yourself.

DIY Christmas Tree

Christmas is just a few days away! If you still haven't set up your tree I have you fixed in a DIY way. Learn to make a real Christmas tree and you can customized it to your dream tree and that to saving lots of money, so lets begin!

SUPPLIES:

Cardboard Tubes
Tape
Metal wires
Glue/super glue/hot glue
Tassel Decorations

METHOD:

Creating the body of the tree:

Stack the tubes one above the other and stick them together with tape, now this depends upon how big you want your tree to be, I used two tubes for this project.

Making the base of the tree:

The tube that I have used came with a cap on the top which I used to make the base of the tree. Glue the cap and a smaller cardboard tube roll together with the bigger tube and let it dry. If you don't have something like this then you can use a cardboard piece and cut it to the desired shape and size and glue it and that will be the base so make it strong.

Attach the metal wires to the tube:

First tape down the metal wire leaving some extra at the top. Tape together the top ends of the wire so that I forms a closed triangle shape.

Giving shape:

Open up the bottom wires forming a tree shape, for this you will have to bend the wire, if you are underage take help of an adult to do this. Carefully bend the wires in an angle towards the bottom.

Fixing the base of the tree:

Make holes at the bottom of the tube, since I used three wires so I made three holes this depends upon the number of wires you use. Bend the bottom wires and slide them to the holes and seal with glue or tape.

Wrap the tassels around:

Now you have the skeleton of the tree ready and it's time to wrap the tassel decorations around if needed add little glue to the metal wires to stick the tassels.

Once you are happy with how the tree looks attach the decorations and top it with a star and there you have it your very own Christmas tree that you made it yourself. You can make this tree in any color you like, the white trees are very famous these days, so you can make that by attaching white colored tassels it is that easy.

Done!

DIY Pom Pom Pillow

These pom pom pillows are so popular on the internet and also in the shops. They are so easy to be DIY-ed and the benefits of DIY-ing are so many, you can customize it to your style, make it as big or small, it is inexpensive and much more.

SUPPLIES:

1. Pillow cover
2. Fabric marker (optional)
3. Scale (optional)
4. Pom Poms
5. Glue

METHOD:

Place some newspaper inside the pillow case so that the ink does not get transferred to the other side, draw some vertical and horizontal lines on the pillow cover to add some design to it. This step is optional as the pillow cover I used is plain so doing this adds some colour to it. I drew the lines about 2 cm apart from each other.

Glue the pom poms to the edges of the pillow, here also I placed the pom poms at 2 cm apart from each other. You can use same coloured pom poms or multicolored as I did.

I thought the pillow was still looking plain so I went in again with some colourful fabric markers to add colour to the black and white pillow cover.

Done!

DIY Snow Flakes

Christmas reminds about snow and the chilly weather sipping a cup of hot chocolate in the most cozy outfit and yes ofcourse Santa and gifts. We cannot bring real snow inside our space but we can sure DIY some snow flakes to decorate for the Holidays.

SUPPLIES:

Popsicle sticks
Glue
Colours

TIME REQUIRED:

10 To 15 Minutes with drying time

METHOD:

Glue the popsicle sticks in the pattern of snow flake, you can search for snow flake images from the web and refer them. I prefer hot glue here as it sticks very fast, you only need to apply a dot of glue and hold it for about 2 second and it's done.

After you are satisfied with the design add about 1 to 2 coats of colour, I used acrylic colour but you can use any type of colour to colour the Popsicle sticks, let it to dry.

Once the colour is fully dried stick some double sided tape at the back and stick it to the wall, you can even hang these with the help of thread.

Done!

I made three of the big ones and two small snow flakes, the smaller ones are pretty easy to make just stick them on top of each other in a star like pattern and colour it to the colour of your choice.

DIY 3D Triangles Wall Hanging

Simple and minimal room decor DIY.

SUPPLIES:

1.Straws
2.Hot glue gun
3.String

TIME REQUIRED:

15 To 20 Minutes

METHOD:

1. Cut the adjustable area of the straw if your straw has that. You will need a total of 9 straws. Start by cutting both the ends of the straw in an angle.

2. Glue first two straws together to form two sides of the triangle. Apply lots of glue and press the straws together until they stick together. The hot glue will melt the plastic straw making the bond strong.

3. Later glue the base of the triangle and let it dry.

4. Attach two more straws to the first triangle that we made.

5. Glue two more straws to the center of the straw to form the 3D shape and connect that to the ends with more two straws.

Let everything dry and its ready.

Use string to hang it to the wall. You can make them as many and in variable sizes as you want.

DIY Colourful Keys

Colours add life to anything.
I have many keys that are so boring and dull, so I thought of revamping the keys and giving them some colour, each key looks different from the other and that's interesting and I love the outcome of this project!

SUPPLIES:

1. Keys
2. Tape

TIME REQUIRED:

10 To 15 Minutes

METHOD:

1. Stick tape to the key in a pattern you want.

2. Paint the area and peel the tape off before the paint dries.

3. When the paint is fully dried stick tape to the area where paint is already present to colour the other area, repeat the step 1 and 2 until you are satisfied with the design.

DIY Christmas Trees

I just love Christmas trees, they stand tall and look even more beautiful when decorated. So I thought of make a miniature version of the Christmas tree before putting up the real tree.

SUPPLIES:

1.Mount Board

2.Pencil

3.Scissors

4.Colours

TIME NEEDED:

15 to 25 Minutes

METHOD:

1. Cut two christmas tree shapes of the same size from the mount board.
2. Cut a slit more than half way of the tree, since there are two trees the cut for one tree will start from the bottom and the cut for the other tree will start from the top.
3. Colour using colour of your choice and leave it to dry.
4. Slide both the pieces together and hows how they stand.

Done!

You can make these trees to any size and colour and decorate it with a stars or anything you like.

The colour of the pipe cleaners and head band depends upon you.

METHOD:

1. Attach the pipe cleaner to the head band by wrapping it around.
2. Form a circle with the pipe cleaner.
3. You may also require more than one pipe cleaners so wrap two pipe cleaners together.
4. Bend the pipe cleaners in a spiral fashion.
5. The pipe cleaners are thin so they would not stand still so to make them stand still attach small pieces of the same colour pipe cleaners to the side in vertical direction to hold them up. Add vertical pipe cleaners wherever required to hold the shape.
6. Later attach cotton to the bottom and top and secure it with glue.

DIY Desk Organizer

Hey everyone! How's it going? I am super excited to share this DIY or I can say this tip to be organised and to keep your work area or desk clean. My desk area was a mess earlier, there were like so may things just lying around everywhere. So this idea popped into my mind and it's so helpful and I hope you find this helpful as well.

SUPPLIES:

1. Jars

TIME REQUIRED:

5 To 10 Minutes

METHOD:

I got this inexpensive glass jars from a local store, these are basically used to keep spices but hey it's not compulsory to do what the box says. This would be a perfect organizer just think out of the box. This glass jar its flat on both the sides so they can be stacked.

Place the jars one above the another and stick it with glue as it will be safe to stick it, you can use any kind of strong glue or also the ones that are specially made to stick glass but in my case I used hot glue gun.

Let the glue dry and your organizer is ready.

I store erasers, paper pins, stapler and stuff like that I use frequently.

DIY Fake Leaves

Hello everyone and wish you all a Happy and safe Diwali!

Today project is an exciting one. You see all those magazines having photos of home and you will always find an indoor plant in those sometimes more than once. Indoor plants give such a earthy look and makes the room feel fresh and nice. They sure look beautiful but sometimes became hard to take care of. Here is an easy DIY that you can make your own indoor plant, I hope you like it, keep on reading to learn how to make it.

SUPPLIES:

1.Green Fabric

2.Flexible wire

3.Green tape

4.Hot glue

5.Scissors

6.Glue/Modge podge

METHOD:

1. Use a flexible wire that can be bend easily, if your wire is too thin like mine then use two wire together. Wrap the tape around the string. I only wrapped it half way because the leaf with cover the other half of the wire.

2. Take a green fabric and cut out basic outline of the leaf no need to cut out the details now you can do it later, you can refer to a photo online on how you want your leaf to look like. The size, width, length and everything depends on you.

Cut two pieces of the fabric to make one leaf.

Remember every leave is different so experiment with their size and shape.

3. After you are done with cutting the leaf take one part of the leaf and stick the wire as its stem in the middle, later take the other part of the leaf and stick that as well. Use hot glue here as it sticks fast but you can use normal glue to do the same.

4. Stick both the pieces of the fabric together with glue and apply glue on top of the leaf as well. I used white glue here but any type of harder or even modge podge will work. Apply the glue in an angle upward direction from the stem to create some leaf texture, if you closely observe a real leave its veins are in upward direction so we are going to do same here. Apply good two to three layers of the glue on top of the leaf, apply one side at a time and let it dry and then apply the other side. Place a plastic sheet beneath as you can peel of the leaf from the plastic if it sticks to it. Let it to dry.

5. When it has dried fully even out the edges and cut out some slits in the sides to make the leaf look realistic also you can cut some holes in the middle.

Keep them in a fancy vase, decorate with some pebbles in it and it is ready to be placed in your place.

DIY Hakuna Matata Shirt

This shirt was on my list from a very long time and now I finally got the time to make it.

Okay lets take a moment to thank Disney to be in our lives. I have always been a Disney fan.

I am so happy with the final product of this DIY. I hope you enjoy making your own.

SUPPLIES:

1.Shirt

2.Print out of the words

3.Plastic sheet

4.Marker

5.Scissors or cutter

6.Fabric colours

7.Sponge brush or normal brushes

METHOD:

1.Print any words of your choice it can be any quote, your name or anything, I printed 'Hakuna Matata" which means no worries this was inspired from the Disney movie Lion King. You can easily write the words using any font of your choice on a photo editing software or can find one online. Make sure the font that you are using is easy and clear.

2.Place the plastic sheet on top of the print out and carefully trace the words using a permanent marker.

3.Cut the letters using a cutter or a pair of scissors so that you will get a stencil of the words. This step is a little time consuming but it will give the best results and you can totally brag about it that you made it other than printing it.

4.Stick the plastic sheet on top of the shirt using tape so that it does not move, this is temporary. Adjust the placement well accordingly.

5.Use fabric colours and start dabbing the colour onto the plastic sheet.

I thought the best way to do this is using a sponge brush or a piece of of sponge but if you can't find any of this you can also do it with normal paint brushes.

6.Let the paint dry fully and later iron on the fabric from behind, read the instructions of your paint to do it. Ironing the shirt will make the paint stay tfor a longer period of time and you can even wash it without having the fear of the paint been washed away.

There you have it your own Hakuna Matata Shirt ready to be paired with anything.

DIY Watercolour Pillow Cover

I just love pillows I know that I have said this so many times whenever there is a Pillow DIY but I can't get over it. I keep making new pillows as an when my room design and arrangement changes and believe me it changes a lot.

Sometimes when you go pillow shopping hoping to the perfect pillow for your space but you may not be satisfied all the time so it is a good idea to DIY them as you can customize it your need and also they are very inexpensive as compared to the pillows available in the market thus saving some money. This water colour pillow is by far my favorite pillow cover that I have made.

SUPPLIES:

1.Pillow

2.Fabric

3.Scissors

4.Water colour

5.Hot Glue/Fabric Glue

METHOD:

1.Cut the fabric little bigger than the pillow, leaving extra space on all four sides this. The fabric should fully cover the pillow and where the fabric meets at the middle it should overlap.

2.First wet the fabric by adding water to it.
Next take your water colours and start painting. Play with the shades and density of colours. The colours mixes well as the fabric is wet but for smooth transition between the shades blend the colours with the brush.
I applied 2 to 3 coats of colour but this depends on you how dense you want the colour to be.

3.After the paint is fully dried iron the fabric. This will make the colour set and stay on the fabric.

4.The next step is to make the pillow cover.

Turn the fabric inside out that is the front side of the fabric must be placed on the top and the inside part of the fabric must be under. Place the pillow on the fabric that is laid flat on the surface and adjust the pillow accordingly. Fold the fabric on top of the pillow in a ratio 3:1 which means one side must be three times bigger than the other side in the middle.

After getting the idea of how much space the pillow requires remove the pillow slowly.

5.Use glue or sew the edges of the fabric. Do not apply glue or sew at the opening only on the sides. The opening is the middle area where the fabric overlap into 3:1 ratio.

6.Turn the fabric inside out that means now you will have the front side on the top.

And your water colour pillow case is ready. If you want you can add a thin layer of protector spray to prevent the colour.

Pokemon Mini Gift Bags

Pokemon are so adorable cartoon characters and I wish they were real. Any Pokemon fan (also me) would love any Pokemon Gift. These cute Pokemon gift Bags are a very good option to put your gift inside them and gift it to your love one. You can make any Pokemon Character on them and whatever you make they will look great. Some people also love custom made gifts then ready made items so they will look this and it also looks presentable to gift someone.

SUPPLIES:

1.Paper(Hard enough to hold things)

2.Glue

3.Markers/Acrylic colours

TIME REQUIRED:

20 Minutes

METHOD:

1.Take the paper and cut it to the shape of rectangle. If you want your bag to be of 10 cm in length then cut the paper twice that is 20 cm in length and according cut the the breadth of the rectangle keeping all the measurements twice.
Fold the rectangle into half keeping one side a little longer than the other side as shown in the picture below. That extra space will be used to glue both the sides together.

Apply glue to the longer side and stick both the sides together.

2.Choose any one side of the bag and that will be the bottom of the bag.
Fold about 2 to 3 cm from the bottom depending upon how much space the bag should contain to hold things. I folded it approximately 2 cm from the bottom.

3.Open the bottom of the bag and fold 2 triangles on both the sides at the bottom of the bag to give shape to the bag. From this step onwards the bag will start taking form.

4.Glue the bottom flab together with glue. They should overlap each other to glue them together. Make sure you use some strong glue here as the base of the bag should be strong enough to hold things in it.

5.Fold both the sides of the bag as per the size of the triangles at the bottom. the side folds should not be bigger than the size of the triangles otherwise a bag proper bag will not take shape.

6.Open the side folds from inside to form the bag. Push the crease of the side fold inside.
Your bag has taken shape.

7.Draw your favorite Pokemon character on the bag or the favorite character of the one you are gifting the bag to. Draw lightly with a pencil but if you are confident enough with your drawing go ahead draw directly with the marker.
Use markers, colours or any other colouring medium you wish for adding colour to the character.
I only made the face on the bag but if you like you can even add ears, legs or even tail at the back.

Fold the top portion of the bag to one side or you can even add ribbons to make the holder for the bag.

Done!

And your Pokemon Mini Gift bag is ready. One tip over here is that use strong paper that will not break the bag or put something light weight in it.

Pokemon fans will love this idea and also you don't need to wrap gift with wrapping paper before putting into the bag as the bag itself will act like a wrapping paper bag.

In the next series of POKEMON MANIA learn to make this Pokemon t-shirt. This has a pocket not just for show but you can even use it. Spices up the plain t-shirt and that too the Pokemon style.

SUPPLIES:

1. Plain t-shirt

2. Fabric

3. Fabric colours

4. Fabric glue

METHOD:

1. Take the fabric and draw a square. This would be the pocket of the t-shirt. The side of the square that I made is 3 cm each. You can make the pocket however big or small but this is the standard size.

2. Once you have drawn the square draw border outside the square leaving about half a a centimetre of space. Mark a centre point on any one side of the square and draw a triangle as shown in the picture below. The extra border will help to glue the pocket to the t-shirt later on.

Cut the pocket carefully.

3. Draw the design of the Pokemon ball onto the t-shirt with the help of a pencil. Refer to a picture if you are not pretty sure how the Pokemon ball looks like, the drawing is pretty easy and does not require any kind of special drawing skills. Draw the lines lightly so that when it is coloured the lines won't appear from beneath the colour.

4. Paint the pocket to the usual Pokemon ball colours which are red,white and black. I also painted white on top of the white fabric to make it look even all over. While using fabric paint DO NOT use water as this will make the paint spread all over the fabric ruining your design. Also wait for the paint to fully dry before doing another coat or painting the other area of the fabric.

5. Cut the corners of the pocket to help them stick well.

6. After the paint is fully dry flip the fabric back side out and iron on top of it to make the paint stick onto the fabric permanently. Read the instructions of the fabric colour that you are using for how much time the paint should be brought into contact with heat to make it last long.
Fold the borders of the pocket and iron that as well.

7. Apply glue onto the top border of the pocket and glue that inside to get a plain and nice surface at the top of the pocket. This will be the opening of the pocket.

6.Use fabric glue to stick the pocket to the t-shirt, only stick the 3 sides using fabric glue. Apply glue only to the borders of the fabric and not the top as it is the opening of the pocket.

There you have it your Pokemon t-shirt.

Style it with jeans,skirts,shorts and it will go with anything.

I paired it with blue jeans,boots and also tucked one side of the t-shirt inside one of the pockets to give it a casual look.

I just love the way this outfit looks simple but stylish and of course that Pokemon pocket makes is stand out.

With this technique of pocket you can revamp t-shirts, shirts or even pants and the possibilities continues.

DIY Pokemon Badges

POKEMON MANIA- I am starting a new series on Crafting It Along where the DIY will be based on Pokemon and everything will be Pokemon.

Pokemon was one of the best and the most popular cartoon of the 90's. When I was a kid I used to love Pokemon and I am sure you too. I remember collecting everything Pokemon back then be it bags,school supplies,toys and what not. Now the age of Pokemon is back and there is again Pokemon everywhere now I mean literally everywhere you know what I mean...

Badges were what Pokemon trainers in the cartoon used to collect. There are different badges of different types of Pokemon. I created come of the basic and common badges in this DIY.

Badges are so in trend right now, it just changes the total look where ever you add it. In this DIY keeping both the trends Pokemon and Badges in mind learn how to make Pokemon badges.

SUPPLIES:

1.Card paper

2.Modge Podge

3.Acrylic colours

4.Glue/hot glue gun

5.Safety Pin

METHOD:

1.Draw the outline of the badge onto the card paper referring to a photo online, you can also print the outline first and then trace it to the card paper if you are not confident with your drawing skills.

2.Once the outline of the badge is ready cut it out and retrace the outline to the card paper cut that as well.

I have made total 8 badges but you can make as many of few as you want.

3.Stick both the card papers together using modge podge. The reason why we are using modge podge it that it makes it strong as compared to normal glue.

4.It's painting time!
Again refer the photo to paint the badges using acrylic paints as these are more permanent then poster or water colours. Add highlights and shade wherever necessary to make it look more realistic.

5.After the colour is dried stick safety pin to the back of the badge using glue. Here we used hot glue but any glue whose bound is strong can be used. Make sure that the size of the safety is smaller than the badge otherwise the safety pin will pop out of the badges.

6.Use a marker and outline the badge. Use modge podge on the surface of the badge to protect it and give it a glossy finish. This step is optional so you can skip if not needed.

You Pokemon badges are ready!

Adding badges to your outfit,bags,pants anywhere can make so much difference and take your style to a new level. They can be used to cover a plain canvas in this case the dress and bag to something cool and awesome. I loved the way these Pokemon badges turned out, you can even colour the badges to one same colour and outline them, there are so many possibilities. Style them or you can even gift gift it to a Pokemon lover as it is a good gift idea.

DIY Wood Stain+Wooden Decor Pieces

Wood stain?! So what is this thing? Is it even a thing? Well these may be some of the questions that may have arrived to your mind when you first heard or read wood stain. Basically wood stain is a dye for wood if said in simple words. It gives colour and shine to the wood and makes it look more finished. Wood stains are available in the market but you can even make it on your own with just 3 ingredients. In this DIY learn to make your wood stain and also where and how to use it.

SUPPLIES FOR WOOD STAIN:

1.Filtered coffee powder

2.Water

3.Glue

METHOD:

1.Take about two spoons of coffee powder in a container, the amount of coffee powder depends upon how much wood stain you want to make.

2.Pour water and stir well. This mixture of water and coffee powder should not be thick not should it be too watery but of medium consistency. For two spoons of coffee powder I added about 3 to 4 spoons of water. Adjust the quantity accordingly. Add water slowly so that you will get an idea of when to stop.

3.Mix the mixture well so that all the coffee powder is dissolved well into the water and the mixture turns dark.

Let the mixture set there for about 30 to 35 minutes so that all the coffee is absorbed in. While we have left this mixture to set it may happen that the water will get absorbed by the coffee powder but don't worry add some more water to maintain it's consistency.

METHOD TO APPLY WOOD STAIN:

1.First clean the wooden piece with a dry cloth. Take a brush and gently apply the stain to the wood. While applying the stain the coffee powder may also come with the brush to the wood leaving a grainy texture along with colour, don't worry let the stain dry then take a dry cloth and wipe the wood surface gently and the coffee powder will come off easily.

2.Apply more than one coat of the stain to the wood. I applied about 3 to 4 times. This depends on you, how much dark you want the stain to be. With applying every coat leave it to dry and wipe the coffee powder and then move to the next coat.

I did not painted the stain to the sides of the block as in the next step we will decorate it.

3.Apply glue to the area where you have applied the wood stain to set the stain and give it a glossy finish. I used a popsicle stick to spread the glue to the surface even a brush will do the same job. The layer of glue must be even along the surface.

WOODEN PIECES DECOR:

SUPPLIES:

1.Wooden piece with the DIY wood stain applied to it as done in the previous steps.
2.Coloured tape
3.Permanent marker

METHOD:

1.Cover the sides of wooden piece with the coloured tape of your choice. Since my tape was thin it could not cover the entire side at once so I applied two layers of tape to fully cover the sides.

2.Take the permanent marker and write your favourite or any motivation quotes on it.

And there you have your wooden pieces ready to decorate. In the post about DIY Display Shelve+decor tips I talked about how you can play with the levels of the things to be displayed on a shelve, this Wooden Decor Pieces work so well, you could keep something on top as this fake plant and also something besides it to show variations in the shelve. It not only helps to play with the levels of the things but it itself is a decor item and can also be kept as it is. Use these the way you want the how you want and decorate your space.

DIY Organiser-Back To School

So this the time when school starts or some schools have already started or which are about to start depending upon where you stay. Being organised is very very important and when it comes to school we tend to mess up. There are so many assignments,test and all the other activities in school that we forget, so writing them on a piece of paper is not useful as it is just a piece of paper and can get misplaced. This DIY will be very helpful to be organised. In this you will be creating your own board which you can wipe the things written on it with a cloth or a duster and write a new one. As this a big photo frame you can keep it on your desk or hang in a place where you study or look everyday. Lets began wit this DIY and learn to make your own.

SUPPLIES:

1.Glass Photo Frame

2.Coloured paper

3.Colourful tape(optional)

TIME REQUIRED:

10 To 15 Minutes

METHOD:

1.Start by taking the colour paper and use the back of the photo frame to get the size of the photo frame and outline it with a pencil and later cut it out.

2.Place the colour paper back into the frame and close from the back.

3.Use coloured tape to divide on the frame so that you can write different things on different areas of the frame. This is an optional step but it looks good and make it more organised.

Write on the tape indicating which area contains what. I wrote "school","food diet" and "to do". You can make few or many parts depending upon your need and size of the frame and customised it the want you like.

There you have your organiser, write do list, what needs to be remembered or anything that you think might forget so it's better to write it down. Ignore my handwriting I have to work on it. This has helped me so much lately and I have all my work completed on time as I write it down on the DIY Organiser.

Who doesn't want to give a successful party. In the previous blog post I showed how to make a colourful DIY Party Decor Wall you can click here to view it.
In this DIY Tutorial I am going to show how to make these Floating Hearts for any party decor or just for fun. These so so easy to make that you don't need any kind of special skills to make it. Keep reading forward to learn to make these.

SUPPLIES:

1.Popsicle sticks

2.Glue(Hot Glue Gun used here)

3.Acrylic Paints

4.Thread

METHOD:

1.For making one heart shape you will require 8 popsicle sticks of the same size.
You can find these popsicle sticks from any craft store and they are quite cheap.

2.Start by taking two popsicle sticks and glue them making a V shape. Carefully apply the glue to the centre of the popsicle sticks and press lightly, here I am using a hot glue gun as it sticks fast but you can use any kind of glue for the same.

Similarly make two V shape to make the upper portion of the heart and glue the ends of the two V shapes together so that it looks something like the below picture.

Place another two sticks at an slight angle bending towards the inner side on both the sides. Make sure that both sides of popsicle sticks are at a same angle and when you are satisfied with it glue both the sticks carefully.

Later stick the another two posicle sticks at the ends to complete the heart shape and let it dry fully before moving to the next step.

Make as many as you want, the number depends on you.

3.Take the colour of choice to paint the hearts. I used acrylic colours as its finish is better than poster colours but again this is completely your choice to choose the type of colour.

Paint both back and front side of the hearts and also don't forget the sides. You can either choose same colour for the entire heart of can choice different colours and alternate the colours as you wish. Paint the hearts fully and let it dry.

And done!

Hang the hearts by tying one end of it with thread and stick the other end to the ceiling. Vary the length of the thread of different hearts if you want the hearts to float at different level.

PRO TIP:

Use a thin and strong thread that is either white or invisible type as this will create a illusion that the hearts are actually floating in the air from a distance. Make sure that when you stick the hearts to the ceiling that they are at a particular height and do not disturb the people standing below.

DIY Party Decor Wall

Decorations are also an important element of any party and when you make your own decorations the compliments that you get make you feel even more special. This is any easy way to make decorations for your party and also inexpensive. These decorations can also be reused when the party is done. So keep reading to learn how to make these Party Decor Wall.

SUPPLIES:

1.Chart Papers or any type of colour paper.

Here you can choose different colours to make it colourful and bright or also use only one colour if you have some party theme.

2.Scissors

3.Stapler

4.Double sided tape

METHOD:

1.Start by taking the chart paper, colour of your choice and cut a square out of it.

The size of the square is depended on you and you can make the square to any any size.

2.Fan fold the paper.

Fan fold is one of the origami techniques. Basically fan fold is folding the paper on top of each other in a vertical pattern, of each fold having approximately 1 centimetre space. Repeat the process until the last fold.

3.After folding the paper again fold the paper from middle and staple the inner ends of the paper together. I used two staple pins to secure the ends but this depends upon the size of the paper.

Spread out the folds and the half circle is done!

The next one is the full circle.

METHOD:

1.Take two sheets of square paper of the same size and colour.

2.Fan fold both the papers.

3.Same step is to be followed here that is to fold the paper into half and staple the inner ends together.
Do this to both the papers.

4.Also staple both the papers that we just fan folded.

And the circle is also done!

Make as many as you want to fill the wall.

First lay the pieces on a flat surface to have a judgement of how it will look when it goes on the wall, later stick the pieces using double sided tape.
