That monks would choose a statue like this to represent themselves isn't surprising in Taiwan.

The title is because this seems to be the mascot of the temple television channel, Beautiful Life.

One of 3 statues to the Buddha in the Main Hall of the Fo Guang Shan monastery in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. I think this was Bhaiṣajyaguru, the buddha of healing and medicine.

Bleached doors like this are everywhere on the Croatian islands. Most of them have subtle mottled colours from their fading paint and lichens.
