On May 7th, Boys Town of Nebraska and Iowa hosted their annual Booster Banquet at the Embassy Suites La Vista Conference Center. 

The Booster Banquet brings together the Omaha community to recognize Boys Town’s outstanding student-athletes as well as raise funds.This event’s Master of Ceremonies was Ross Jernstorm of WOWT Channel 6 and also featured Olympian Jackie Joyner-Kersee. Jackie is one of the most decoratesd female athletes and shared her story and inspired many Boys Town youth. More than 1,500 attended the event including CRAVE Omaha’s Marketing and Sales Manager, Nick Huff. 

CRAVE Cares - Omaha Gives!CRAVE was also able to help share the word about Omaha Gives!, which is a new 24-hour online donation event by the Omaha Community Foundation. It was so inspiring to be able to help our partner, Boys Town, as well as spread the word about a fast and easy way to donate to those in need. Omaha Gives! was a huge success and by the end of the 24 hour period #omahagives24 was trending on Twitter as well as raised 3 million dollars!

Boys Town was so grateful for the large amount of donations they received and were absolutely blown away by the generosity that helped them raise $4,530!  Events like this make us so proud to be a part of such a great community and to be able to help non-profits every month with our CRAVE Cares program. Boys Town will be our CRAVE Cares Partner until the end of June so be sure and come in and dine off of our delicious Chef’s Special Menu, which will automatically donate a portion to Boys Town!

Also, be sure to keep your eye out for some changes in our regular menu items! Below are just a few examples: 

  • Edamame Cream Cheese Wontons – Serving 8 instead of 7, with a more flavordul filling with the addition of pickled ginger and sriracha.
  • Ceaser Salad – Romaine is no longer grilled. New is chopped and tossed in the traditional fashion.
  • Turkey BLT – No longer served on whole-wheat toast. Now served on a Telera roll with lettuce, tomoato, mayo, and thick cut bacon.
  • Chicken Stir Fry – Now served with soba noodles, not rice cakes.

We have also eliminated some items from the Fall Menu to incorporate new seasonal items we know you’ll enjoy! So whether you’re taking a break from shopping at Galleria or Mall of America, before a show Downtown, or after a movie at the West End Theater, we look forward to hearing your feedback about our Spring Menu!
