Nokia will soon be the largest maker of network and mobile phones in the world. They will even pass Ericsson and Huawei. They just acquired Alcatel-Lucent a French mobile company for 15.6 billion EUR. This is more than double what Microsoft paid to scoop up Nokia. They are looking to ramp up development for future technologies like 5G, imaging, and sensors. The merged companies will run under the Nokia brand.

A day before the official fifth season started, 4 new episodes leaked online. It appears that someone was in possession of HBO screeners as indicated from their website:

“Sadly, it seems the leaked four episodes of the upcoming season of Game of Thrones originated from within a group approved by HBO to receive them. We’re actively assessing how this breach occurred.”

The episodes look to still be active on Torrent sites like KickassTorrents and have been downloaded more than 100K times!

On Wednesday, April 8th the FAA officially approved Amazon’s request to start testing their UAVs. It has been a six month struggle to get the approval forcing Amazon to look at other countries to do testing in. There are some restrictions though, the new UAVs are not allowed to exceed 400 feet or 100 mph.

“We’re pleased the FAA has granted our petition for this stage of R&D experimentation, and we look forward to working with the agency for permission to deliver Prime Air service to customers in the United States safely and soon.”

Ever wanted to turn your TV into a full PC with ease? Intel is offering a new solution that plugs into your USB port. New Egg has it listed for pre-order. The expected release date is April 24th of 2015. The Windows 8.1 version sells for $149 and has 2 GB or RAM with and Intel Atom Quad-core Processor.

Amazon had it listed for pre-order as well but they have since taken down the option.

Samsung has responded to concerns about their new phone being too bendable. They posted a video on their website to hopefully show everyone that this won’t happen. The concern came up after SquareTrade posted videos of the S6. Samsung assures that this phone can withstand up to 79 pounds of force at three different points.

Finally the day is coming where Gmail will have the ability for multiple e-mail addresses. Many of us have a business domain, a personal Gmail account, and various other e-mail addresses. Android is launching a new Gmail app today that will make this easier. You will be able to manage all of your mail from a single place. This includes @yahoo.com and @outlook.com domains.

New Samsung S6 and S6 Edge.

It is rumored that Samsung may actually allow users to remove many of the apps that come with the S6. This would allow the phone to be faster and use less resources. Samsung will likely also remove much of the bloatware that comes with the phone, which also can’t be removed without rooting the phone. An XDA member noticed that the S6 Eddge had an option to uninstall some of these. This is a major improvement from Samsung!
