all hate to travel in crowded airports, long lines, rude people ….. But
there are ways to make our traveling experience a little nicer and also
be pampered at the same time. Companies have made all the arrangements
for their customers to make them feel the elite. But for that you have
to be strong from your pocket.

Since the dawn of civilization, people
have been building tunnels for accessing tombs or underground quarries,
or in the hill slopes for allowing the flow of water from porous rocks.
Romans were skilled tunnel builders, who made several kilometers long
underground passages using the work of slaves.

But modern day tunnels are a bit
different as the means of transportation are various. Some tunnels are
just for trains and some are for cars but few also serve both.

We have all
spent more time than we care to remember in stations waiting for missed
connections or delayed trains. After the obligatory cup of tea there is
not much else to keep you entertained except huddling from the
inevitable rain in the waiting room which, despite the ban, still has a
hint of stale smoke.

But there are
railway stations around the world that offer more than hot beverages and
gloomy stationary stores. Here I have compiled some of the most
beautiful railway stations of the world. I hope you will like it.

Union Station
as the “Last of the Great Railway Stations” built in the United States.

The insane architecture you see above is the aftermath of a baseball
stadium being abandoned in Osaka Japan; a new opportunity revealed
itself and brought a bit of green regeneration to the urban jungle.
Judging by the ticket sales, people Osaka didn’t seem to care too
much about baseball, so in 2003 the stadium was abandoned.
Notwithstanding this, being situated near the Namba Train Station (the
first stop from Kansai Airport) has its advantages: it is a place of
great economic importance and the site therefore couldn’t go to waste.
After several ideas and plans, the site’s owner, Nankai Electric Railway
finally decided to convert the area into an amazing rising garden
complex: the Namba Parks.
Within the park lie an array of towers (some over 30 meters high), a
commercial center, as well as gardens, trees and waterfalls. The sloping
park connects with the street, giving cars and passers-by comfortable
access to the complex. Below the park there are also various
restaurants, as well as a shopping mall with eight floors of gardens,
which would probably drive me insane! It is a good place to shop though,
if you’re into that sort of thing.
Probably the most intriguing thing about the complex is the eclectic
fusion of the urban and the natural: jagged and curved architectural
lines blend into the soft, organic foliage. This is urban renewal at
its best.
In the evening the whole park takes on a different appearance.
Looking out of a balcony, above the city of Osaka with a drink in one's
hand, perhaps it is easier to appreciate the fusion of urban sprawl and
nature.

Most of us
have simple demands when it comes to travel lodging at max a bed, a
bathroom, a TV and Wi-Fi. There are others, however, whose demands far
eclipse the simple convenience of your basic hotel room. When the
world’s most wealthy travelers take a vacation for their own, they are
treated to suites that cover entire floors of a hotel building, rooms
that include a personal butler, hell– some even come with their own
private helicopter.

So take a
peek into the experience of the world’s most wealthy travelers. Here I
have compiled some of the most expensive hotel rooms in the world.

Image: Doron
What is 13 stories high, has 3,500 steps and is 100 feet deep? Right,
this well, but do you believe it exists as shown in the photograph? Or
has the symmetry been achieved with a little help from Photoshop? Not
sure? We looked at it as if it were one of those wacky 3D-images and
still weren’t sure. Read on for more details…

It is real! The image shows Chand Baori, a stepwell in Abhaneri,
Rajasthan, close to Jaipur. It was built in the 9th century by Raja
Chand, a rajput of the ruling Chamana Dynasty at the time, to solve the
water problem of this arid region. Locals had to dig almost 30 m (100
feet) deep to find a dependable water source.
Feel reminded of M.C. Escher's lithograph "Relativity" (1953)? We did too!
Photo:
Image: Justin Foote
These kinds of deep, square wells with steps leading down can be
found all over India, especially in the dry west. An adjoining temple
and often elaborate designs are common, built in honour of the gods who
are supposed to protect the crucial water source.
According to a local legend, the well was built in one night by
ghosts and contains this many steps so that anyone who throws a coin in
the well cannot retrieve it easily. More likely, the legend of the
ghosts was created to keep thieves out who wanted to steal the precious
water.
The back of Chand Baori with the temple, overlooking the stepwell:
The stepwell in Abhaneri village is one of the most spectacular ones and featured prominently in the movie The Fall (2008), when actors danced on each platform connecting two sets of steps.
Because water supply is much better and much more reliable now than
eleven centuries ago, the well is now defunct, proven by the green mat
of algae that has formed on top of the water.
For those who are still not fully convinced that no photoshopping was
involved, here's a 360-degree-view of Chand Baori with the temple:
A visit to Isreal may now include explicit stops at the open
underground tunnels of Tel Aviv, where artists Bar & Shay have been
hard at work installing colourful lights to the once dull underpasses.
The new makeovers brighten up an otherwise unmemorable experience, and
have already received acclaim as a great street intervention project.

Photo:
Inspired by Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, the artists transformed
the bland, uninviting scene above into the brightly lit one below. The
rainbow of colours lifts the mood and just makes you want to go through
the tunnel with a big grin on your face.
Sporting venues
come in all shapes and sizes. Some are truly immense. Most of the
largest stadiums are used for football. However, some high capacity
venues are used for baseball, cricket. Many stadiums have a running
track around the perimeter of the pitch allowing them to be used
for track and field events. It is estimated that the Circus Maximus of
ancient Rome could hold 270,000 spectators.

In medieval
times, castles were built as homes and fortress of a noble and monarch.
Did you know that the earliest castles were built from wood? By the 12th
century, the majority of castles
were built from stone. On this time, these structures serve as
fortified and defensible homes of a member of the feudal nobility.
Castles could supervise the surrounding territory and make sure it sees
advances of any invasion attempts.

Here I have compiled some of the most majestic castles in the world. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Mont Saint-Michel

Normandy and Brittany. This majestic castle is one of the first sites to
obtain UNESCO World Heritage listing.

Neuschwanstein-Castle

Neuschwanstein Castle is a 19th-century Bavarian palace
on a rocky hill in Bavaria, Germany. The design of this castle is well
in its decorated; from the round arched portals, the arcade windows and
towers to the placement of columns and its bay windows and pinnacles.
Matsumoto-Castle

Matsumoto Castle is one of the 4 castles in Japan to be listed as
national treasures. Next to Himeji-jo, Matsumoto-jo, this was the next
best existing castle donjon in Japan.

Fonseca I. It was considered as one of the best castles in Spain. The

In early time people set fires at the
edge of the water to warn boats of dangerous rocks and shores. The early
lighthouses used wick lamps as a source of light. In the olden times
the light beam could only travel a few miles. In 1822 the first modern
lighthouse lens was invented by a Frenchman named Augustin Fesnel. He
found out how to increase the light by using prisms.

Here I have compiled the list of some of
the most beautiful, amazing lighthouses. These are so beautiful that if
you are watching them at night you could stay without a breath. If I
missed any, do share it in comments section.

Enoshima Lighthouse, Japan

The Enoshima lighthouse in Japan has a
spiral staircase to the top is surrounded only by a steel frame which is
lit in different colors that change throughout the night, making it
pretty hard to ignore.

Torre De Hercules, Spain

The Torre De Hercules is the only roman
lighthouse still in use and holds the title of ‘oldest active lighthouse
in the world’. The 185ft lighthouse still stands today and looks as
sturdy as ever.

Yokohama marine tower, Japan

At a height of 348ft, the Yokohama marine
tower was, prior to its ‘temporary closure’, the tallest lighthouse in
the world and could be seen by ships 20 miles away.

Pigeon point lighthouse, USA

Pigeon point lighthouse is perched on the
edge of a cliff in California and at 115ft is one of the tallest in the
United States. The shows an extremely powerful lens composed of 1008
hand-polished lenses and prisms which help in providing 500,000
candlepower illumination.

Low lighthouse, UK

At only 9 meters tall, the stunning ‘low
lighthouse’ in Burnham-on-sea is one of the smallest you’ll find. It was
built in 1832 and is still used as a navigation tool, providing a white
flash every 7.5 seconds from the window at the front.

kiz kulezi, Turkey

The 2500 year old kiz kulesi is one of
the most beautiful lighthouses in the world and sits on a tiny islet off
the coast of Istanbul. Over the years the small piece of land on which
it sits has been used as a burial chamber.

Cape hatteras light, USA

Around 1.25 million bricks were used to
build the tallest lighthouse in America, a huge structure which lights
up every 7 seconds to assist ships through the ‘graveyard of the
Atlantic, the diamond shoals. On clear days it has been visible from 50
miles.

Promthep cape lighthouse, Thailand

One of the world’s newest lighthouses is
this strange looking, gold topped example in Thailand, built in 1996. It
can be found on the southern coast of phuket, a major tourist spot in
Thailand.

Sullivan’s island lighthouse, USA

This incredible modern lighthouse
originally contained a lamp capable of producing a whopping 28,000,000
candlepower. Compared to other lighthouses, this is practically
space-age, facilities inside including air-conditioning and an elevator.

Knarrarós lighthouse, Iceland

It is one of the most aesthetically
brilliant lighthouses you’ll find, the stark white knarrarós lighthouse
was built in 1938 and is the tallest building in southern Iceland at
86ft. perched on top of a white base, the building is surrounded by
grass, the color contrast just adding to its mystical appearance. The
light is still active and flashes for a 3 second period every 1/2
minute.

Lights, City, Condo! Colorful Cinema-Style Interior Design

1

When you can afford to turn two existing condos into a
single-floor-spanning unit, the cost of city living is unlikely to slow
down your incredible ideas for interior decoration. Somewhere between an
ultra-minimal modernist dream home and the set of some timeless
abstract firm, this cinematic condo combines stark white rooms with an
expansive array of colorful lighting elements.

2.

Flexible, versatile and open, the plan is spacious and the views are
sweeping – each room opens up into the next and strange same-colored
lighting ties the entire set of spaces together under a single roof at
the flip of a switch.

3.

A combination of naturally changing direct and indirect daylight
light as well as bright colors of artificial lights make for an
ever-shifting scenographic experience.

4.

The built-in architectural furnishings and stark lighting elements
become as much the decor as the occasional decorative plant or framed
painting.

5.

Still, one has to wonder if there is a hidden ‘price’ to all of this
(beyond the actual design-and-installation bills). Living in a
movie-like environment might sound like fun, but keeping such a huge
space clean is a task in itself. And while these multi-colored lights
may make for a fun night-club atmosphere are they really practical for
comfortable day-to-day living? Nothing against AA Design studio – their
execution was excellent and the spaces are amazing – but whether they
will love living in it is ultimately up to the creative clients who
commissioned the condo reconstruction in the first place.

In 1968 when Douglas Enterbart invented the first keyboard, he
wouldn’t have dreamed that his invention would revolutionize the
computer world. Did we imagine that the simple block key board will turn
into such magnificent art pieces? But today, each design is
unique…leaving the past behind and beholding the future.
Technology is simply a part in the long run- together with it blends
mans’ quest for better creations leading to innovations like the 14
Coolest Computer Keyboard Mods and Designs seen below, which are made up
of some real modifications and also some conceptual design which
hopefully will truly be made. If you are interested in some weird and
cool keyboards that have actually seen the light of day, check out the
awesome collection of Geeky Computer Keyboards we seen before.

1. Jellyfish Inspired Keyboard

The jellyfish inspired keyboard set is basically a hand held gizmo
that can function as an alternative to the regular input devices. It
features the concept of a music keyboard fused with that of a computer
keyboard. This jelly fish inspired keyboard set is a little tricky in
its operation: using the chord theory where by, if a certain digit is
pressed together with another digit, it forms a word. But this ‘magic’
device makes it a point not to let its users to return to the usual
keyboard with its high technical proficiency. Erik Campbell has sure
made an awesome model-slick in black and red for those who value design
and yearn for a style statement.

2. Remote Controller Keyboard

Flying saucers are no longer meant for the aliens alone! It is a part
of the earthly gaming zone now with the new remote controller keyboard
by Altuq Toprak. The duo looks as if inspired by flying saucers and E.T
to give a refreshingly new gaming controller. Though the gaming
controller is an integrated part of the keyboard, it can be used as an
individual controller as well. Initial usage may be a bit clumsy, but
the versatility of the design will cause this to be soon forgotten.

3. Alchemist Keyboard Mod

The Alchemist keyboard is an outstandingly featured keyboard which
pays tribute to the alchemists of history in its design. The amazing
keys, the stained glass panel and the braided cord together make a
picture-perfect designer key board. The designer has incorporated a
number of symbols and labels used by alchemists including the Eye of Ra
and the Caduceus. The detailing extends to the brass rods below the
space bar that have a special coating to prevent tarnish. This keyboard
is a master piece with its artistic design and fine detailing.

4. Mouse Combo Keyboard

Ever had the thought that the mouse is a pest in your cubicle taking
up lots of space for its proper function? Well, have a look at the
largest computer keyboard with a built-in mouse. This mouse combo
keyboard rests on a low friction pad making movements easier and uses an
optical sensor to pick up motion. If the gliding key board doesn’t
suite your needs, within reach of the thumbs, a scroll wheel and
conventional mouse buttons retain customary control.

5. Steampunk Ergonomic Keyboard

Great news to all the Steampunk lovers, the Steampunk keyboard
is out with its classic looks and perfect design. This amazing keyboard
together with the steampunk mouse forms a model duo. Created by
Datamancer from an IBM M15 ergonomic keyboard, the transformation is
breath taking. The metallic design on the sides and the touch pad add to
the aesthetics of the keyboard. Yet another example to confirm that
steampunk is always in style!

6. Retro Keyboard Mod

Cool keyboards have always been in the priority list of the geeks. As
such, there have been innumerable creations varying in themes, designs,
features and specifications. To add to the list is the retro keyboard
mod. Although looking like a blend of the typewriter sculpture and the
steampunk ergonomic keyboard, this keyboard has its own distinct design
and concept. The classic side rails and the keys together form part of
the perfect nostalgic keyboard in the list.

7. Scrabble Keyboard

Computer keyboards have been available in different shapes, colors,
sizes and this scrabble keyboard adds to the list its own specific
theme. The keyboard is made from letters of the popular Scrabble board
game. This new theme based keyboard from Datamancer has the buttons made
of different letters from the game and the special keys like Num Lock
have the letter hallowed out. The creativity and looks of this keyboard
will certainly take a few breaths away.

8. Key-Stick Keyboard Design

Portable keyboards have been in the market for some time now, but
most of them had inherent flaws like lack of traditional keys and
options for folding. The key-stick key board by Yoonsang Kim and Eunsung
Park is a trend setter in this developing technology. The Keystick
keyboard is a fully functional QWERTY keyboard with the added benefit of
folding it to a stick. This foldable keyboard is wireless and connects
to the PC via an USB. Soon to enter the manufacturing phase, once out,
the keyboard will definitely grab the keyboard market.

9. Art Deco Style Keyboard

Art deco style keyboards are always classy and elegant in its design.
The keyboard featured here is no different in that respect. Together,
it is superior in its class with the variations by Datamancer. The
black reflective acrylic plate and white LEDs add to the aesthetic
appeal. The wooden frame further takes the design to classic lay outs.
Any loyalty to intense technology clubbed with splendor? Your search for
the perfect keyboard ends in the art deco keyboard.

10. Kinesis Advantage Keyboard

Advantage Keyboard leaves no options for a second thought. The ergonomic
design with additional features and the scientifically placed keys are
the striking features of this technical-designer board. Also, the layout
is simply perfect and fits your hands better to give the comfort you
seek for when working for long hours. In the list of geeky gadgets based
on innovative designs, The Kinesis Advantage keyboard can not be
ignored with its scientific design and technicality.

Well
if one can create art out of bottle-caps I don’t see why corks can’t be
used for the same purpose? It seems Albanian artist Saimir Strati feels
the same way, since he has taken on the challenge of creating a 3D
painting out of 300,000 wine-bottle corks. What you see in the photos is
not the completed project, upon completion it will be a 96 square meter
masterpiece depicting people playing guitar. This is not Strati’s first
unusual artwork, in the past he has gained a spot in theGuinness Boook
of Records for the world’s largest toothpick mosaic in the world. It
contained approximately 1 million toothpicks and it depicted some
horses. So be on the look out for Saimir Strati, he’s one special
artist.
1. Ostrich Pen

Source
English word “pen” originated from Latin “penna” (feather of a bird)
since widespread popularity was acquired by goose feathers, which were
squared at the root. However using feathers to write is a thing long
past. Most of the designers move from past to future, however, this
designer Arizona is moving backwards resulting in this cool creation
that uses an Ostrich Head and feather.

Combining Lego with Star Wars is, few would argue, a masterstroke.
Combine Star Wars, Lego and stationary together an, as far as we’re
concerned, you’re a damned genius.
The Star Wars Lego Pen Sets come with three pens offering Yoda, Darth
Vader and R2-D2 in self assembly format – meaning all manner of
creations are possible (most of them just not right).

5. Free Ride Pen

Source
When you want to go all out with your writing utensil, look no
further than the free ride from Jean Pierre Lepine’s free ride pen. The
design has quite a bit of technology involved behind it. It’s asymmetric
so that the center of gravity lowers in order to give the pen a tumbler
effect so it won’t roll. Jean Pierre Lepine spent months researching,
testing, and perfecting it.
The Free Ride is designed to be different, ergonomic, and fun. This
push top ballpoint features a soft rubber like material in the vital
sections where finger meets pen. Complete with a roller wheel pocket
clip and a padded push button end this writing instrument is sure to get
you noticed next time you need to whip out a pen in public.

perfectly into Girl Tech’s Password Journal. There are so many secrets
for the young fillies, and here’s a way to write them down and then
shred them right up, Nixon-style. It’s downright therapeutic.
There’s also an FM radio inside with an attached earphone, so the
snide little girls and women can completely tune you out, you, like,
non-listening, like, non-understanding parent, you know?

8. UV Spy Pen

Source
The spy pen features ink that is made of special high-brightness
compounds that are invisible to the naked eye, but magically illuminates
when exposed to a blacklight, conveniently located on the opposite end
of the pen. The blacklight allows you to read any messages left to you
by your spy friends. Perfect for writing down secret spy messages,
scrawling secret grocery lists, or keeping a catalogue of all of your
internet

9. Pendragon

Source
This pen is crazy. First of all (wait are we still on first?) I gotta
tell you that the name of this pen is “Pendragon” and it’s a
construct-your-own pen. It’s name is Pendragon. What else you do you
need to know!? Pendragon.
The pen has four parts. It’s got the Nib, the Central Unit, the End
Part, and the Expandable Units. The Nib is the writing part. it can be
changed to a ballpoint, pen, fountian-pen, mechanical pencil, or digital
pen. The Central Unit has, get this, the LED light – important!, a
music player, charger input, memory card, and battery. The End Part has a
bluetooth connection to whatever headphones you choose to use in

10. Color Picker Pen

Source
For all those out there who buy cosmetics online, “life is like a box
of chocolates” You never know what color you are really going to get.
Now there is a practical solution for these fashion fiascos – an ink pen
by Korean designer Jinsun Park called the color picker pen. It works
much like the eyedropper tool on Photoshop, this pen captures colors as
they naturally appear in real life and then these colors can be used for
physical drawings. A sensor detects a color in an object (your
sneakers, perhaps?) and then matches the scanned color to a color
display. An RGB cartridge (red, green, and blue) then mixes inks in the
right proportions to create real ink that is the same color as the color
scanned into the device.

11. Brando Pen

Based on the concept of refraction of light our ancestors had
designed creative technique of utilizing candlelight to brighten the
interiors. The principle idea being the reflection, refraction and
diffusion, the candles were mounted in glorious candelabra and
chandeliers which amplified the light through lead crystal drops cut
into prismatic shapes. In cooperating the traditional approach designer
Ruth McDermott has come up with ‘Isis Sea Fan’. Taking its name from the
organic forms, this smart lighting system mimics sea fans-soft tendril
corals to create a bond between technology and natural forms.
6.In future, the computers might look like insects and that too alien

Lotus
computer concept by Sophia Yung is the design for our next generation.
As you can see, it is no longer a square box, but looks like a lotus
plant. But, the moment I saw it, the only thing that I could see was
some insects from the other planet with one eye. Ok, it could look like
anything in this world, but the best part about this computer design is
that it has been integrated with one of the five human senses .i.e.
olfaction. It combines smell spray, artificial intelligence and video

7.EU smart home concept

Smart-home”
technology that allows people to control household appliances via their
mobile phone or other gadgets is being shown off in Germany.

Funded by EU, the i2 home project is especially aimed at giving
independence and control to the older and the disabled people.
Middleware is the technology that has been used to control heating and
all the other stuff like air conditioners to be controlled by any gadget
or interface that you choose. This new technology is the result of
combined efforts of EU industry, user groups and the universities. And,
the hard work seems to have paid off well. This particular platform
requires all the appliances to be networked together and the so called
middleware sits between the home appliances and a controlling device,
which can be anything like a mobile phone, allowing them to communicate.
Various control interfaces have also been created by i2home project.
The research which was carried in collaboration with various groups like
Alzheimer’s patients, blind and partially sighted people, so that
technology could be matched to their needs has finally come to an end.
But, the project team and some users are still evaluating it with the
help of demonstration of technology in German town of Saarbrücken, as it
has been mocked up in a kitchen here.
“Finally, something that works,” said Ginger Classen, a blind,
German accessibility expert. “If this technology is adopted by many
manufacturers, I could finally go appliance shopping like sighted people
in a normal store, having the choice to buy cool and stylish products.”

For creating such unusual memory key in steampunk style you would
need some wood, a few old pocket watches and a lot of talent and
creativity. All featured bellow memory keys were created by artist from
United Kingdom under nick back2root. The corps of USB drives were made
out of different types of wood: Ebony, Padauk and even such exotic wood
as Tiger Myrtle. The creation of each device took up to 12 hours and up
to 8 old pocket watches. The beautiful results of such hard work you
could see below. Enjoy!
Here we have a great collection of the some Funny Mugs found from around the web.

1. Timex Thumbnail Watch

Source: (Link)
This watch is still a design for now but the coolest watch you could
ever own. This watch design could reinvent our whole perception over
watches. The projects comes from a design contest organized by Timex to
get new ideas for their future projects. The Nail Watch, as they
naturally called it, allows you to check the time with just a quick
glance over your arm. It will show up in different modes, calculator,
date, calender etc and an option to chose the color. This would probably
be the most stylish watch and all popular companies would cry if it
hits the markets.

2. Tiwe OLED Wrist Watch

Source: (Link)
Tiwe OLED Wrist Watch works by displaying a series of dots across the
watch’s face that appear to float around in a wholly random fashion
until you either shake the watch or tap the screen – at which point the
OLED dots will quickly assemble from their chaotic meanderings to form
order hence displaying the current time in an analogue style before
timing out and floating away back into chaos again. Let’s Shake the
Watch to Form the Time from Chaos.

3. Seiko Bluetooth Watch

Source: (Link)
This Seiko watch not only tells time, it notifies you when a call or
text message is received – on your phone – via Bluetooth. It also
displays the battery level and network signal strength. SII (Seiko
Instruments) in Japan has done a prototype of their bluetooth watch for
mobile phone users. The bluetooth watch can connect to mobile phone and
display important information on the watch.

4. Binary Watch

Source: (Link)
If you want to be the absolute computer geek, then this watch can’t
miss from your wirst. But first you need to learn the binary language,
if you don’t already know, because else you won’t be able to read the
time.

5. Storm Circuit Watch

Source: (Link)
The Circuit Watch uses a pair of tall stacked LED segments to
illustrate the current time. The bars on the left show the current hour,
while the bars on the right display appear to be split into two
sections, one which displays tens of minutes and the other which shows
individual minutes.

6. aoTimeFlexa

Source: (Link)
This is a self-gumming watch, that can be attached to virtually
anything, from your hand to a jacket. The aoTimeFlexa is based on the
flexible display technology and it can be bend and rolled like a paper.
It also features touchscreen, so it doesn’t have any physical buttons.
Being very slim and small, it can be used in any situation.

7. Abacus Hands Free Ball Watch

Source: (Link)
Wrist watches really don’t get any more minimalist than the Abacus
Hands Free Ball Watch which is an entirely hands free affair, relying
instead on a single metal ball to convey the time thanks to the use of a
concealed magnet. Not a watch for those who cannot live without knowing
the exact time but ideally suited to those seeking a stylish watch that
offers a rather more casual relationship with time telling.

8. Equilibrium Wrist Watch

Source: (Link)
Inspired by aircraft instrumentation, in particular an aircraft’s
artificial horizon instrument, the Equilibrium Wrist Watch is a purely
analogue affair designed by Daniel Will-Harris that offers a ‘sense of
perspective to an ever-shifting horizon’.

9. Liquid Time

Source: (Link)
There are two names of this watch: one is “Liquid Time” and the other
is “From nowhere to nowhere”. Liquid Time utilizes two LCD screens
specially crafted to fit the watch as well as some very clever
typography.

10. Nixie Watch

Source: (Link)
This watch looks designed especially for science geeks, because it
displays the time on nixie tubes. For those that don’t know what nixie
tubes are, they were used back in 1969 in calculators and are quaint
neon display tubes. This watch only requires the flick of the wrist to
display the hours, minutes in seconds in a sequence. It’s advantages are
that it’s both rugged and water resistant. The Nixie Watch is great
somebody that wants to be unique.

11. Matrix M6001 LCD Watch

Source: (Link)
A deliciously retro inspired LCD wrist watch, the Matrix M6001 LCD
Wrist Watch manages to ooze yesteryear appeal whilst offering highly
original and distinctive styling – which is not an easy feat. Managing
to be both understated and yet gloriously glam, though we’re not quite
sure how this has been accomplished, the Matrix M6001 is, beyond all
doubt, a retro fuelled masterpiece.

12. Giovannoni Timesphere

Source: (Link)
At $150, the Giovannoni Timesphere is a nifty alarm clock – well yes
not a watch practically though, however is capable of projecting the
time onto any surface via a wireless orb. While sitting on the base, the
wireless floating orb is charged through induction and once it is
completely charged feel free to place it wherever and fix the point
where you want time to be focussed. The orb will project the time onto a
wall or surface or your wrist and easily be lost when kicked or played
with by a dog.

13. ON AIR Wrist Watch

Source: (Link)
On air wrist Watch shows time in an extraordinary minimal way. While
LED display shows minutes in number, its position shows us the current
hour. Display is also function as a light and set button. If you push
once LED lights up. To set the time you need just to push in the center
of the display for 5 seconds and LED flashes, here you push upper or
lower corner of the display to set the hour and the left and right
corner to set minutes.

14. Fossil Starck Watch

Source: (Link)
This digital style watch displays the time in a unique fashion. In a
ring shaped display, the hours are displayed as numbers while the
minutes are displayed in segments. As time goes by, the segments build
making a complete ring every hour. The center is completely see through
and the pusher is located on the case back to create this sleek styling.

15. Zihotch Watch

Source: (Link)
This is one strange watch you probably wouldn’t like to wear,
especially if you’re not Japanese. Excepting it’s huge, it looks like an
old phone and you need to dial “117″ to hear the time in Japanese. You
can watch the video in source to understand better what are we talking
about.

Very beautiful and attractive home rooms they all look so different to others normals paintings rooms.

Swedish graphic Design Lisa Bengtsson designed ‘the family’ wallpaper
pattern to add some nostalgia to the home. Users are able to recreate
this in their home using the frames printed on the wallpaper and adding
their own pictures or other details to customize the pattern. (Link)

Wall graphics are more and more popular in these days, and here is an
interesting example. Designed by Zek this cool wall graphic gives
another meaning to geeky Interior Design living rooms and grants another
vision even when watching the regular tube. (Link)

A German company called Surrealien customizes your wallpaper to look
like its warping around your paintings and decoration. Must be hard to
randomly rearrange after this. (Link)

Stemik Living creates digital wallpapers were you can choose among a
great variety of designs and an opportunity to use any of your favorite
picture as a base for them allow to find the right wallpaper for anyone.
With such wall covering your interior design will look more alive and
unique. With them you can forget about dull usual walls. (Link)

Paul Coudamy is an architect working and living in Paris. His work is
a mash up of brilliance and inventiveness that creates an unbelievable
end product such as office called the Bears Cave. The ‘Bears Cave’ is
emphasized by Parisian rock and brick walls creating a solid and mineral
atmosphere. The cavern walls are created using wood waste pieces
collected in dumpsters, sidewalks and wastelands. (Link)

This Jonas Samson’s illuminated wallpaper with OLED technology will
light up your home in the most simple yet serene manner giving it
stunning looks and sheer awesomeness. A clever mix of the graphic,
textile-inspired papers of the recent-past and organic technologies of
the future, his light-emitting wallpaper happily straddles the fence
between kiddie night-light and inventive design feature. It’s
eco-credentials: turning a two-dimensional surface into a light source
versus the traditional bulb/lamp construct. (Link)

If you drink a bottle of wine per day, maybe in a few years you will be able to have a wine labels wallpaper like this one. (Link)

Not all the cool designs are expensive; a man went to Home Depot
every day for a few weeks and took paint swatches–when he was done, he
had around 1000 swatches. After attaching them to the wall with mod
podge that’s what he came up with. (Link)

This wallpaper called Pocket Wall by designer Maja Ganszyniec is like
a wrapping paper. The project turns the purely decorative layer of
wallpaper into storage. (Link)

This Pixelnotes wallpaper, by designer Duncan Wilson, consists of
four layers of varying grey tones. Each layer is like a post-it note and
every time you split a layer, the individual pixel gets darker. (Link)

Dutch designer Christiaan Postma designed this wallpaper to do double
duty as a giant calendar. The design merges the properties of wallpaper
with the functionalityof the calendar to create a wall that is a true
reflection of our busy schedules. By making the calendar so large you
can literally look at one whole year on your wall, giving an entirely
different perspective of time. (Link)
Not really a wallpaper, but still it’s an interesting way to decorate
walls with just a few markers. Charlie Kratzer wanted to decorate his
blank white walls but wanted something more creative than simple paint
or traditional wallpaper. Using black markers, Kratzer drew
architectural features, books, pictures and a small cast of characters
on the walls. The whole work was only $10 in sharpies. (Link)

Photo: The Dolls House Emporium
Being the proud owner of a swish interior akin to those in the glossy
home magazines that line the shelves of newsagents is becoming more and
more desirable. Homeowners salivate over possessing the latest trends,
iconic furniture and designer touches, and might spend thousands, if not
hundreds of thousands, turning their homes into the shiny examples of
interior design mere mortals can only dream of.

Photo: The Dolls House Emporium
Yet this kind of interior splendour is now easily accessible to
everyone thanks to the genius that is the hobby of doll house
miniatures. A far cry from the clunky, brightly coloured wooden
furniture associated with children’s doll houses, these miniatures are
ultra-realistic and often indistinguishable from real-life interiors –
as these images courtesy of The Dolls House Emporium show.
Specialist miniatures companies make and supply everything needed to create a realistic room setting in 1/12th
scale, which means that 12 inches in real-sized items are equal to one
inch in miniature. And whether your heart desires a tiny retro armchair,
a state-of-the-art flatscreen television that actually works, or a
freshly made bed, it’s all possible.
Photo: The Dolls House Emporium
From kitchen units topped with real stone worktops and marble
fireplaces with flickering lighting units that resemble a real fire, to
hand-sewn rugs and intricate glass statues, everything you can think of
that exists in a real home is painstakingly recreated in miniature.
Some miniaturists make scale models of their own homes complete with
scale models of their pets; some have tiny family portraits painted by
artists who specialise in doll house-sized portraiture – and it’s even
possible to have scale models of real people for that extra personal
touch.
Photo: The Dolls House Emporium
Managing Director of The Dolls House Emporium, Jackie Lee, explained
that people who enjoy this hobby take inspiration from a wide range of
sources, including literature, history, geography and, of course, from
contemporary settings.
Jackie sums up the miniaturist hobby by adding: “The hobby goes from
strength to strength as customers take time out to get away from the
stresses of everyday life and immerse themselves in a world they have
created."
Photo: The Dolls House Emporium
It’s a real world they can touch and feel and share with friends, and
it can involve the whole family through the generations. What is
popularly thought of as a toy for children has now evolved out of the
toy shop and graces some of the smartest of homes. Glossy interior
magazines beware: there’s stiff competition on the interior design front
and it’s from somewhere you’d least expect

The creative genius from Germany, Markus Voglreiter has created two
amazing buildings in Salzburg, Austria – Auto Residence, and another one
is its sister project ‘The Car’. Former is a house while the latter is a
bar and restaurant. However, both buildings have one thing in common:
their design structure. And the most conspicuous thing is – you can
easily make it out in first sight as to what their structure is based
on. Yes, it’s Volkswagen Beetle.

The whole process of making this VW Beetle house and restaurant started
almost a decade ago and was completed in 2003 and 2007 respectively.
Both the structures feature car-dork details like suspension-themed
interior columns, exterior “tires,” and headlight-shaped windows. The VW
Beetle shape restaurant, however, is located north of Salzburg and cost
a staggering €1.6 million to build.
