Our always on the ball WTF Department has brought to our attention an eco-friendly shopping bag that converts to a safety helmet. It’s from Japan (where else?) and it’s called “The Grappa“. The bottom of the bag has a helmet hardened plastic piece in there to protect your head against falling objects such as in an earthquake or food fight. Anyone got a spare $190,000 they can give me so I can buy a Flying Hovercraft from Hammacher? I’ll give you a ride in it. This hovercraft not only glides over land and water like the regular hovercrafts you probably already have sitting in your garage, but it can also soar up to 50′ in the air thanks to wings. Fly right over your buddies in their old outdated ride-on-the-water-only hovercrafts. It’s the new style… 4 and 3 and 2 and 1…

After a ride in that, I typically go for a martini- shaken, not stirred. The Flying Hovercraft can hold up to 600lbs of passengers and cargo and the dual 9 gallon gas tanks let it go up to 160 miles on a fill up. Sure the gas mileage isn’t great, but you can make up for it by going in a straight line to your destination, over most any object. Here’s the joystick controlled cockpit:

Top speed is 70mph from the 130hp twin-cylinder liquid cooled turbocharged gas engine. You’ll need to register it as a boat. Want! Now all I need is the $190k and I’m all set.

Oh Domo, you irresistible Japanese monster, what are you up to now? Why he’s holding your hot drinks with the brand new Domo Sculpted Mug. Sink your teeth into this one before he does the same to you (Domo would never actually eat you… unless you were meat and potato stew… are you?) What else can Domo do? How about bobble?

Technically I suppose that’s more like a wobble than a bobble but the Domo 6-inch Bobble Head rocks around on his legs whenever you boink him on the head. So cute, so bobbly. Both are available for pre-order now, coming out in the next month and look for more Domo merchandise later this Fall too. And don’t try to feed him any apples- seriously don’t.

I’m really digging these Pac-Man Ghost Tables from Masters of Fate (artist R.Fitzpatrick). They come in a whatever ghost color you want, or a custom color. Each one is hand cut, sanded, primed and then covered with 15-20 coats of paint. That sounds like a lot.

The tables come in various sizes from side tables to coffee tables to desks and kitchen tables. Each one takes 2 weeks to make by hand, right here in Austin, Texas. By here I mean there unless you are there in which case here for you actually is here, otherwise it’s there until you go there and there becomes here. (When will then be now? Soon.) I always wanted to go into one of those inflatable rolling balls and roll down a hill. At my age I’d probably throw up after one roll but for kids it’s a ton of fun. The Child Piloted Tumbler lets kids climb into the inflatable honeycomb and roll around like crazy. The 30 chambered globe is made of heavy-duty thick PVC with room inside the 47″ diameter ball for a child up to 100 lbs to move around and shift positions enough to move it with just their body weight. Your iPad can now be whale-tailing in public. The Whale Tail and Vacuum Dock from Octa adds a flexible whale tail shaped stand to the back of your iPad (or other inferior tablet). The shape allows you to prop up your iPad in most any position.

The whale tail itself is detachable from the vacuum dock to allow compatibility with any future products from Octa (elephant ear? Tigger tail? cobra?), although right now it’s just the whale.
