Keeping up with all the new product that flood the market, seemingly at once, can be exhausting. Yes, I signed up for this "burden" when I created a food review blog, but sometimes it's hard to maintain the motivation to keep posting and seeking out new thing. But, as a service to you (but primarily a way to increase my income; sorry, I do this for the revenue), I do my best to keep the content fresh and relevant. It's that effort that leads me to churn out another Fiber One review with this review of their new Fiber One 90 Calories Lemon Bars. I picked up a box of six of these at Meijer in a crazy sale for the bargain basement price of $1.99. Each bar (or brownie as the Fiber One website refers to them as) is 0.89 ounces and is of course 90 calories. It's got less than a gram of protein, but it does have 20% of your recommended fiber intake in just this little package.

There's an old saying that says something along the lines of if it looks, swims and quacks like a duck, then it is probably a duck. When I grabbed this box Kellogg's Special K Cookies & Creme Pastry Crisps on sale at Marsh for $2.99 and closely reviewed the box and then the crisps themselves, I was reminded of that saying and I'll get to it more in this review of yet another new Kellogg's Special K product. Like all the boxes of pastry crisps, there are five pouches of crisps per box and each pouch contains two individual crisps. Each pouch is 0.88 ounces and has 100 calories with less than one gram of protein (LOL), so if you divide that in half, you obviously get the numbers for each individual crisp itself.

Yoplait seems to be really pushing their low fat frozen yogurt line over the past few months. It seems like every time I log on to one of my digital coupons websites or into my iPhone grocery store apps, I see a new coupon for Yoplait low fat frozen yogurt. I've tried several of their flavors, but occasionally, one pops up that I haven't grabbed yet (I'll never grab those that include banana, sorry) and that leads me to today's review of this pint of Yoplait Original Mountain Blueberry Low Fat Frozen Yogurt that I grabbed on sale (before the coupon) at Kroger for $2.50. Each pint is the typical four half-cup servings and each serving is a rather budgetary 110 calories.

As I've mentioned before, Cascadian Farm's marketing to me by sending me free products for reviews worked. I've bought and reviewed several of their products on my own based on those positive reviews and another sale at my local Kroger led me to pick up a box of five of these Cascadian Farm Organic Sweet & Salty Peanut Pretzel Chewy Granola Bars for $2.49. Each bar in the box is 1.2 ounces and has 160 calories with three grams of protein. Obviously, based on the name, they are trying to play up what can sometimes be an overplayed flavor combination with the sweet and salty mix, so it'll be interesting to see how it turns because I'm always reticent of products that make that claim.

I've mentioned several times on the blog that I'm like an old maid when it comes to coupon clipping. I'm not a nut about it like some of those people on those television shows, but I will say that I do legitimately enjoy finding coupons for products that I would typically buy (or consider buying) and then using those coupons at the store. Blue Bunny products are one of those products that I don't typically buy, but when I see a coupon for them, I will buy them and that's led to a few reviews here. Armed with another coupon on a recent trip to Walmart, I decided to grab a 1.75 quart container (two extra scoops!) of this Blue Bunny No Sugar Added Brownie Sundae Ice Cream for $2.75 after my coupon (normal price of $3.50). There are fourteen scoops (servings) in a container and each serving is a half-cup and has 80 calories, so this one really is budget conscious on the calorie scale. The ice cream is also fat free, so bonus!

Today's review is another review spurred on by the snack time fairy here at the office. Since there are so many of us, the snack time purchasers often buy huge boxes of particular snack bars and that's the case with this Better Oats Oat revolution! Peanut Butter Chocolate Chewy Granola Bar that was part of a giant box of multiple flavors, some of which you'll see here in the future. These are apparently a secret product because Better Oats does not mention them on their website and there's very little mention of them on the web, but what I was able to glean from the box is that these are 1.23 ounces and 140 calories each. They are also not for individual resale, so the snack people here better not get any tricky ideas unless they want to run afoul of the law.

Today's review is of another product that snuck up on me in the store in the nutrition bar aisle. As I've said before, I often peruse the nutrition section hoping to get snuck up on because that means that I've got sources for new reviews. This Designer Whey Peanut Butter Crunch Protein Bar definitely fits that bill as I saw it hiding on sale for $1.00 on the bottom shelf of the section. There were originally two flavors, but one was completely out (perhaps this was a clearance sale?), so I snatched up this one remaining flavor to try out. This bar itself comes in at 1.41 ounces and has 160 calories and ten grams of protein. Based on the name, I'm going to guess they whey in this bar is quite fancy as well. I do know, based on the wrapper, that its naturally flavored and sweetened, so I guess it has got that going for it.
Strawberries with Whole Grain Granola Greek Yogurt

I've mentioned in my previous YoCrunch reviews that I bought a bunch of these Yopa! Greek yogurt cups all in one flurry of a purchase. Because of that, I had a refrigerator with several different flavors. At this point, I've gotten so tired of reviewing these that I can barely stand it, so when I saw that this YoCrunch Yopa! Strawberries with Whole Grain Granola Greek Yogurt was the last one out of that flurry of purchases that I made, I was almost relieved. This is a traditional and boring flavor, but sometimes you find out that traditional and/or boring can be really good or really bad, so that's why I hammer out these reviews. This cup, like the others, came in at 5.3 ounces and was picked up on sale for $1.00. It has 110 calories without the granola mixed and and is 190 calories with the granola mixed in. The total package has thirteen grams of protein.

It's been a while since I've reviewed a SOYJOY bar (early last fall to be precise). I thought I had covered all the flavors in my stores (minus Pineapple; not going to even attempt that one), but then this SOYJOY Cranberry Baked Whole Soy & Fruit Bar popped up on me during a recent visit to my local Marsh. This is a new flavor, so I had never had it, thus I wanted to try it and when I saw it was on sale for $0.99, I was even more pleased. The bar itself is all natural and consists of 140 calories and four grams of protein packed into 1.05 ounces of joy. Like my plan on words there? Yeah, I didn't figure you would...I think I'm more clever than I actually am most of the time. Anyway, onto the review...

So this has been quite a week. Not only have I been focusing on Haagen-Dazs products for the first time, but today's review is a type of food that I've never reviewed on this blog in my life...sorbet. That's right, the frozen dessert that has no eggs, milk, cream, whatever. No dairy. Just sugar, water and fruit. It's going to be different, but hey, I'm willing to try new things and that leads me to this container of Haagen-Dazs Orchard Peach Sorbet that I picked up on sale at Kroger for $2.49 for a fourteen ounce container. Each container has 3.5 half-cup servings and each serving is 130 calories.

While recently perusing my favorite food-related blogs, I happened upon a post on The Impulsive Buy showing that Kellogg's had released even more products from its pastry crisps line. I've already hammered on a lot of these and after looking for quite some time to find them in stores, I was finally able to find a box of these Kellogg's Special K Chocolatey Caramel Pastry Crisps on sale at Marsh for $2.99. Each box has five pouches of crisps and each pouch has two crisps and comes in at 0.88 ounces with 100 calories and an almost comical one gram of protein.

So, I'm two-for-two (including this one) on getting Fruttare products for free and with another review coming in the future, I'll be a perfect three-for-three. This review of the Fruttare Strawberry Ice Bars comes compliments of the public relations agency that is putting out the word for these new bars. Ordinarily, this would cost anywhere in the $4.00 range for a box of six bars, but since I'm a lucky guy, I didn't get dinged with that. Each bar in the box is two fluid ounces and is a very, very economical 60 calories.

When you look at different flavor variations of the same basic product, reviews can get kind of boring. I've already touched on one of these YoCrunch Yopa! products before, but my desire to add content to the blog (who doesn't love content?) leads me to review this YoCrunch Yopa! Blueberries with Whole Grain Granola Greek Yogurt, despite the fact that there is very little difference from the previous review in that we are trading out only one flavor. The rest is the same. Anyway, this cup was picked up at Kroger for $1.00 and it's 5.3 ounces, 180 calories with the granola included (110 without) and has thirteen grams of protein. It's whole grain granola and really, isn't whole grain the best? Actually, I don't really care...I'm just being a smart ass.

It's not exactly a dirty little secret that companies like to copy each other, especially in the food industry. If one company finds a recipe for success, so to speak, then another company will copy it and market it under their own label. It appears as if that is what General Mills is doing with this Nature Valley Cinnamon Brown Sugar Soft-Baked Oatmeal Squares obviously being a clone of the Quaker line of soft-baked oatmeal squares. It's funny actually, because who knew that oatmeal squares were something that the market was just so desperate for? Clearly I didn't, but the snack time people at my work must have known as this was another free product offering. This square bar itself comes in at 1.24 ounces and has 150 calories and two grams of protein.

So apparently Kellogg's has had enough of Quaker hogging the single serve oatmeal cup market and has finally gotten their own product to market to compete in the great oatmeal wars (a creation of my imagination). That new product introduction leads me to another Kellogg's review as I take a look at this Kellogg's Special K Nourish Maple Brown Sugar Crunch Hot Cereal cup. I got a two-pack on sale at Kroger for $2.99 and each cup in the pack is 1.83 ounces with 190 calories, eight grams of protein and five grams of fiber. It's also a multi-grain blend with quinoa, so that's exciting...not.

So I've finally reached the bottom of my office snack time Kashi stockpile (for now). You've seen lots of reviews of these Kashi products that I've picked up already, but I'm going to bore (or perhaps inform) you with another today with my review of this Kashi Berry Muffin Soft n' Chewy Bar. I'm sure this comes in a box of five or six for around $4.00, but since I got it at the office, I don't have an official price to attach to it. The bar itself is 1.4 ounces, has 130 calories and three grams of protein.

The free sample train that comes as a result of writing a food review blog is pretty fun. As much as I'd like to think I know everything, I very much do not and via free samples, I often find out about product that I've never heard of before. Today's review is of a free sample that I received that I had definitely not heard of before and that leads me to this review of the Raw Rev 100 Chocolate Crave Food Bar. The company that manufactures these bars, Raw Revolution, ordinarily manufactures full size bars, but since this particular bar is a diminutive version of the full size bar, they've decided to shorten the name to Raw Rev. Very cute. Anyway, this shortened bar is 0.9 ouncs and in keeping up with the name, it 100 calories with three grams of protein. It's also got quite a bit else going for it too being that it's peanut free, gluten free, dairy free and organic. Holy moly.

In one of my previous reviews, I reviewed basically this same bar with the exception that it was white chocolate based instead of milk chocolate based. So, despite the fact that they are similar and that this bar appears to be in the old packaging, I'm still going to dive into this review of thinkThin Crunch Chocolate Dipped Mixed Nuts Bar. I picked this up at Kroger on sale for $1.00 and it's 1.41 ounces with 190 calories and ten grams of protein.

I was just thinking prior to writing this post how much tastes change over the course of a lifetime. The reason I was thinking of that is up until about two years ago, I could not stand foods that were coconut flavored. In the past couple years, I've gone from just testing to coconut to now actively seeking it out. In fact, I'd say that I love coconut flavored products and more and more of them have been popping up in the blog recently. With that, I'm led to another Chobani review with their entry into the choose your own adventure yogurt market (along with Muller, etc.) with this Chobani flip Almond Coco Loco Greek Yogurt. I got this one on sale at Meijer for $1.00 and each double-compartment cup is 5.3 ounces and 230 calories with twelve grams of protein. It's made with natural ingredients as well.

In the early days of the blog, I hit up Talenti products for reviews quite a bit. Since then, I've mostly stayed away (it's been almost a year; WOW) for a couple of reasons. First of which is that my stores just don't change out their varieties very often. Second, and perhaps most important though, is that that they are seemingly never on sale and their regular prices are just not something I want to pay for a pint of any dessert, no matter how good it may or not be. So, on a recent trip to Kroger, both of my excuses were blown out of the water as I noticed that for the first time in quite a while, my Kroger had switched out its flavors and added this Talenti Southern Butter Pecan Gelato to the collection as this was a flavor introduced the world this past March. The sale price for this pint was $3.50 and with four half-cup servings inside, each serving measured in at 210 calories. It's also all natural, gluten free and kosher, so it's got all sorts of goodness going for it.

I'm at a loss here, dear readers. These Nutri-Grain bars can tend to be so boring that I sometimes forget that I've already reviewed them and end up doing two reviews of the same product. As I was preparing for this review, I just saw in my blog archive that I did two reviews of the same Raspberry Nutri-Grain bar. LOL, oops. I guess they aren't really that memorable. Even with that said, I'm going to do another review of one of their bars with this Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Cherry Cereal Bars that I picked up on sale for a box of eight at Marsh for $2.99. Now, I'm 100% certain I haven't reviewed this one before, so this is fresh content, if you want to call it that. Each bar in the box is 1.2 ounces and has 120 calories with two grams of protein, by the way.

I don't know what it is about Larabar products, but when I initially started the blog, I did many reviews of them and did not like most of them. I then took a break from them and picked them back up later and now, I find myself liking them more often than not. That seems strange to me that my mind could have shifted so much, but whatever I supposed. Anyway, it's the recent positive experiences that led me to pick up this Larabar Chocolate Coconut Chew Bar on sale at Kroger for $1.00 and it's 1.8 ounces with 240 calories and a somewhat ample (for Larabar) five grams of protein.

I've had some decent success with KIND bars on the blog, most of which I've received as a result of a KINDING Mission. Today's review is no different as I once again picked up a bar via one of those missions and that leads me to this KIND Almonds & Apricots in Yogurt Fruit & Nut Bar. I was a bit apprehensive to try this one out because I've generally not been a big fan of apricots throughout my life, but hey, when something is free, I feel obligated to try it. This bar is 1.6 ounces and has 220 calories with three grams of protein. It's also all natural, gluten free, wheat free, etc., so it's got a lot of positive characteristics going for it, which is not surprising since it is the product of a very generous and aware company.

Apparently Fruttare bars are another import that we've been deprived of (like Magnum ice cream bars were at one time). Recently though, Unilever (also the importer of Magnum bars) has decided that Fruttare bars should jump from their home country of Brazil and be released to the masses of the United States (they've been available in other parts of the world for quite some time) and spurred on by a free product coupon via my Kroger Plus savings card, I picked up this four pack of Fruttare Coconut and Milk Frozen Dessert Bars on a recent trip to the store. Each bar is 2.7 fluid ounces and 140 calories, so it's a relatively sizable and semi-healthy treat.

Today's review is of a product that I've seen multiple times in the grocery store but have always been a bit hesitant to try. I've had flan before and it was okay, but I was never sure how that would translate into a pre-packaged product that I could find in the dairy case at the store. With that, I decided to embark on another Kozy Shack review when I saw this Kozy Shack Crème Caramel Flan on sale at $2.50 for a four pack at my local Meijer. Each cup in the four pack is four ounces and each cup consists of 140 calories.
