Apple just released the Apple iPhone 4S. People found lot of missing ingredients in it. It was not like when Steve Jobs used to introduce new products or services to the world. Many Apple fans as well as investors were not happy about it. This news will shake not only the Apple world but the whole technology world. Steve Jobs, the mastermind behind Apple's iPhone, iPad, iPod, iMac and iTunes, has died, Apple said.

"We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today," read a statement by Apple's board of directors. "Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve. His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts."

It is amazing to see Amazon join the tablet computer war. Kindle Fire is a simple but powerful device that have most of functionality that other tablet device have. 5 essential pointers to read before selecting a mobile broadband package

With the rise in popularity of smartphones, many of us are enjoying internet on the move but want to take that connectivity to the next level. So if you’re looking for a mobile broadband deal, what are they key factors you should take into consideration?

1) Providers and coverage

It may seem obvious, but you’d be surprised at how many people don’t take this into careful consideration. You can often get away with a slow connection when using a smartphone to get online, as it will use less data by simplifying the experience, but if you’re connecting via a laptop or tablet PC you need a good 3G (or even better 4G) connection. Mobile broadband internet providers have coverage maps on their sites, so do your research.

2) Choose the right device

While some laptops do have in-built mobile broadband, this will normally come down to a choice between a mobile broadband USB modem (or dongle) and a mobile broadband Wi-Fi unit (or MiFi). Both are sleek, small and portable, with MiFis tending to be a little more expensive. However, they offer you the ability to get several devices online at once.

3) Contract or prepay?

If you only intend to use mobile broadband occasionally, chances are you’re better off going for a pay-as-you-go (prepay) deal. Here you’ll have to pay up front for the hardware, but then only need to pay for the data you’re going to use when you’re going to use it. A contract or tariff will tend to see you get a discount on the hardware (dongles or MiFis may even be free) as well as overall getting cheaper data. However, you’ll be tied into a contract fro regular data you may not use. It’s also worth looking out for short term (monthly rolling) contracts that can offer a tempting middle ground.

4) Download allowances

Another key area is of course downloads. It can be a tricky balance: you need to be sure not to get too little, as going over your allowance can see you paying high rates for the extra GBs you use. However, if you’re not using all your allowance, you’re clearly wasting money. Put simply, just looking at simple web pages, social networking and checking online mail won’t use up too much data – downloading, streaming and gaming usually will. Be sure to take a look at a download calculator to get a rough estimate. And remember it will be easier to upsize your deal than downsize it, as you may have received special discounts due to paying for a bigger data plan.

5) Speed

Depending on where you are, this can be a real issue or a red herring. If you are simply choosing between 3G mobile broadband providers, as long as they have good coverage you’re unlikely to experience much of a difference between them. You may get a speed boost from a 3G+ network though, while 4G networks are starting to offer much faster speeds where available.

Why router always disconnect and required rebooting

Why my router always disconnected and required me to reboot it to bring it back? This can happened due to couple of reasons. Routers can be easily exhausted by file sharing programs, simultaneously streaming couple of HD video or may be because of a virus. If you use a ADSL connection with ADSL router plus modem, it can easily overloaded, because one device is handling two tasks. This is pretty common when you connect more that ten devices to one router plus modem. Also, out dated router or wireless network card firmware can cause the same problem.

Restarting Your Router Is Not a Long Term Connection Solution

Rebooting the router every time it gets disconnect is not a proper solution. Lets start with the easiest and the cheapest solution, which is to update the router firmware. Google the router brand and the model number and it will take you to the official website for download the latest driver software. List of router default passwords [http://www.phenoelit-us.org/dpl/dpl.html]might be useful to login to your router admin panel in case you forgot the router login details. (Default username and password will only work if you did not change the router admin password.) Also, make sure you back up the old settings before you upgrade the firmware.

Images does not show in IE but shows in all other browsers

I was creating a simple website and noticed that images are not displaying in the Internet Explorer (IE) but shows in Google Chrome and Firefox. Then I paste the image URL in IE browser and it did not display the image at all. Solution is quite simple. Images are in CMYK mode and some browsers including Internet Explorer dose not support CMYK images. Change the image mode to RGB and upload the images and all the images will start appearing in Internet Explorer as well. How to change CMYK to RGB in Photoshop? Simply open the image in Photoshop and go to Image, Mode and tick RGB. Make sure you save the changes. What is CMYK Colour Model? The CMYK color model (process color, four color) is a subtractive color model, used in color printing, and is also used to describe the printing process itself. Apple iPad 2 is having some issues connecting to certain Wifi connections and Apple forum was filled with complains and requesting help. Many claim that Wireless will be drooping N (802.11n) in 2.4 and 5 GHz bands specially if they do not use the mix mode. Apple has officially confirmed that there is a issue and suggested some solutions for that in Apple support.

iPad Wifi Issue Symptoms

* WiFi will only work for a short while, then completely stop.
* Dropping WiFi connection constantly.
* iPad2 shows good signal strength but nothing works via WiFi
* iPad is restarted or wakes from sleep state, it fails to join the known and remembered WiFi wireless network

Suggested Solutions

Fix your Router

* Update Wi-Fi router firmware - All most all the modern routers allows you to upgrade it's firmware. Simply check whether a update available for the router model and log in to your router from a web browser and
upgrade the Browser firmware.

* Use WPA or WPA2 wireless security instead of WEP. Again you should be able to change this setting by login to the router.

Changes for your iPad

* I am not sure how adjust screen brightness will effect the iPad WiFi connection but Apple suggest to switch off the auto brightness and increase the brightness. You can change the settings from Settings > Brightness & Wallpaper.

* Renew IP address of iPad.

Tap Settings > Wi-Fi > Select the Wi-Fi network you are currently using and tap Renew Lease

Apple will be fixing the iPad Wifi problem in the future software updates but until then you can try the above methods.

Should I buy a new Computer or wait till Windows 8 released?

Windows 8 rumors, leaks and official demonstrations are circulating around the Internet.Touch friendly user interface, Windows 8 tablet computers, improved and modern operating system, application store and one OS for desktops, laptops and tablets are the main goals of Microsoft, which will be achieved from Windows 8. Early Windows 8 builds leaked to Internet already revealed these Windows 8 features. Before the end of this year you will be able to experience Windows 8 Beta and by early next year shelves will be filled with Windows 8 and Windows 8 compatible devices. Is it better to buy a new computer sooner or wait for Windows 8 computer to be released next year?

Widely used Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems are not touch friendly nor compatible with tablet computers. Also, they are not supporting ARM processors, which are specially designed for tablets. Even though there are couple of Windows base tablets, you cannot find a optimised Windows operating system for them. New Windows 8 touch friendly user interface, which is similar to Windows Mobile 7, is designed and developed to support tablet and touch screen computers. Not only it gives an elegant, modern and clean interface it adds multi tasking, switching between classic Windows interface and modern interface and also provide easy access to connect with networked computers, storage and cloud services. Therefore, I strongly recommend you to wait until Windows 8, if you are planning to buy a Windows based tablet.

Windows 8 is designed for desktop computers, laptops, netbooks, tablets. In another words, it is designed from computers with and without mouse and keyboards. On the other hand, it comes with lots of improvements and new features. Microsoft Application store, Hybrid boot, ISO mounting program, Modern PDF reader, Application Folder, optimised HTML 5 Internet Explorer, improved Task Manager, Webcam Application and improved Disk Cleanup are some of the added and improved features in Windows 8. I will not wait to buy a new computer only because of the above features. However, it will provide a better operating system for your next Windows computer.

Paying for a new computer and for the operating system separately or paying extra for upgrades is not a option for many of us. If I am getting it free with hardware it makes more reasonable for the price I pay. Therefore, I would rather manage with the current Windows XP and Windows 7 computers until Windows 8 is released to buy a new computer.

You may be noticed that every other Microsoft OS is a failure. Windows 95 was a massive improvement specially with the graphical user interface but then Windows 98 start getting blue screen of death. Then Windows 98/SE was a good operating system however Windows Millennium failed to continue that. Windows XP is one of the best operating systems Microsoft has produced and it is still the most popular OS on the planet. Once again you can see that Windows Vista was a big time failure and then Microsoft manage to recover it from Windows7. What is going to happened with Windows 8? You might have already noticed that lot of changes in the Google interface. Soon changes will be coming to your favorite Gmail as well. Much cleaner and contrast interface to Gmail.

"This is part of a Google-wide effort to bring you an experience that’s more focused, elastic, and effortless across all of our products." Says Gmail Blog. You can slowly notice the changes in the future as Gmail team apply the changes.

We’re kicking things off with two new themes for you to try out as a sort of sneak peek at what we’re up to. Starting today, you’ll see the “Preview” and “Preview (Dense)” themes in the Themes tab in Gmail Settings. Why two themes? Our new interface will eventually expand dynamically to accommodate different screen sizes and user preferences, but until then you can pick the information density that you prefer.

Windows 8 Release To Manufacturing in April 2012

This is Crazy update about Microsoft Windows 8 release date from Mary0-Jo Foley, who is close Microsoft reporter at ZDNet. Earlier rumors were spread that Windows 8 will be released in End of 2012. It seems like that Microsft has fast track the production to release it on April.

Microsoft was planing to release to manufacturing (RTM) Windows 8 in middle or end or 2012.
Initial plan was to RTM Windows 8 for x86, Windows 8 for ARM and Windows 8 Server all at the same time. However, it seems like that Microsoft reevaluate the release dates targeting the 2012 holiday season.

According to ZDnet report - "Microsoft is actually on track to release to manufacturing all Windows 8 versions by April 2012." That means Windows 8 beta around the time of the Build conference in mid-September. It will provide enough time for hardware manufactures to build Windows 8 PCs and tablets for holiday 2012. Also, Microsoft needs to enter the tablet market so badly.

Google Chrome OS – a PC that runs on a browser?

Google, Inc. is an American based enterprise that is mainly engaging in Internet search, advertising technologies and cloud computing. It was founded in 1998 by Sergey Brin and Larry Page as a follow up on their research project, which they started while still studying at Stanford University. Their idea was to abandon the commonly used technology of ranking the sites by the repetition number of the search terms that appear on a web page and created the PageRank technology that scored site importance by checking up on backlinks. The BackRub engine they programmed became Google through a spelling mistake of the term googol, the term is used to define the number that has a one and hundred zeros behind it, and suddenly history was made.

What does Google do that has nothing to do with the search engine?

Because most, if not all services that are provided by Google to individuals are free of charge, almost the entire revenue comes from advertising. In lieu of this, most of the free services Google provides, must serve this purpose, namely collecting of information that will provide Google with sellable assets. These assets are being used by advertisers to better contact, influence, control, identify and manage possible clients for their products that they are eager to peddle. it is therefore questionable in how far does Google Chrome, the browser, assist Google the parent company in this task.

Android

Google acquired the Android, Inc. in 2005, and the financial push allowed the founders to develop the first and only true competitor to the Apple iOS until recently. Nowadays the former Palm, Inc. and now HP operating system for mobile and hand held devices, the webOS is entering the market in big numbers and with a lot of corporate and financial support behind it; as well as the only just established co-operation between Nokia and Microsoft that will propel the Windows Mobile 7 to the front ranks, both are capable of competing for the top spot. But despite Apple being the frontrunner for quite some time, Android has finally managed to overtake Apple with market share and combined revenue.

Chrome OS

Nobody really understands why Google is producing a competing platform within the same roof. The idea was simple, extending the Google Chrome browser to have an operating system kernel and be able to power certain devices, mainly for web surfing and limited tasks. Android does that and then some. But Google Chrome OS is not supposed to be more than Android, but less. Instead of creating a scaled down version of Android, or even allowing users to use as much, or as little, of the existing operating system, Google developed since 2009 an operating system that is supposed to be used in proprietary created netbooks, the so called Chromebooks, for surfing purposes alone, with some limited features added. General impression by the media and by people who had the opportunity to test the prototype Cr-48 is that they are convinced this idea will fail. Nevertheless, a handful of prominent manufacturers signed on to this project, such as Acer and Samsung, whereby first Chrome OS powered Chromebooks will be made available in mid-June 2011.

Smart phone is going to become smarter and smarter with the Google as Google is going to try Google Wallet app that will allow you to use your phone as a credit card. You’ll be able to tap, pay and save using your phone and near field communication (NFC). Google is field testing Google Wallet now and plan to release it soon.

It was rumored that near field communication (NFC) is going to available with Apple iPhone 5. However, Google has come up with demo and solution first.

Because Google Wallet is a mobile app, it will do more than a regular wallet ever could. You'll be able to store your credit cards, offers, loyalty cards and gift cards, but without the bulk. When you tap to pay, your phone will also automatically redeem offers and earn loyalty points for you. Someday, even things like boarding passes, tickets, ID and keys could be stored in Google Wallet.

At first, Google Wallet will support both Citi MasterCard and a Google Prepaid Card, which you’ll be able to fund with almost any payment card. From the outset, you’ll be able to tap your phone to pay wherever MasterCard PayPass is accepted. Google Wallet will also sync your Google Offers, which you’ll be able to redeem via NFC at participating SingleTap™ merchants, or by showing the barcode as you check out. Many merchants are working to integrate their offers and loyalty programs with Google Wallet.
