Tier trays are so much fun to decorate for the seasons. I enjoy being able to display my smaller chotchkes in one place so they don’t get lost in the rest of the decor. These tier trays are great for kitchen counters or even in bathrooms! So gather up your candles, signs and smaller display pieces and let’s get started!

There is really no wrong way to do this but I find that most people get overwhelmed when starting. I am going to break down it down into manageable steps.

Materials needed for Halloween Tier Tray

• Beaded tier tray
• Lambs ear candle ring
• Eucalyptus stems
• Halloween floral
• Halloween tier tray decor

Begin with an empty tier tray!

I always add the greenery first. For this tier tray, I added the lambs ear candle ring to the top tray. Next add your eucalyptus stems to the bottom tray.

Start filling in gaps with your tier tray decorations. Use your bigger pieces on the bottom tray. I add the larger signs and chotchkes here. Don’t forget to do both sides!

Once you have the larger pieces arranged on the bottom, start adding smaller bits to the top tray. I love adding beaded garland to hang over the top tray.

With holiday tier trays, I like to add in some holiday floral to give it a little punch at the end! Clip off pieces of your holiday floral and add in to fill any remaining holes.

It’s really that simple! Amazon and Etsy both have oodles of holiday tier tray sets that you can use to create your own tier tray masterpiece.

I saw these cute ghosts at a local craft store and decided to make my own. They were so ridiculously easy to put together. Let me walk you through it.

Materials needed to make the Farmhouse Ghost Topiary

• 1×4 wood scraps
• Dawel rod
• Wood glue
• Foam ball
• White broadcloth
• Cheesecloth
• Black felt
• Scissors
• Hot glue gun
• Zip ties
• Halloween ribbon

My husband began by creating stands out of the 1×4 wood scraps and a dowel rod. The base is 3.5 inches by 3.5 inches with a 5/16th inch dowel rod cut to 12 inches (for the short one) and 16 inches (for the taller one). He drilled a hole in the center of the wood base and then attached the dowel rod with wood glue. Allow wood glue to dry completely.

Next, I adhered the foam ball to the top of the stand. Then I measured out the fabric. Of course, these measurements are going to vary depending on how much you are wanting. I ended up cutting a large square of broadcloth and then measured out the same amount of cheesecloth.

Place the white broadcloth over the foam ball. Cut ovals out of the black felt for the eyes. Hot glue the eyes in place. Lay the cheesecloth over the top of the white broadcloth with the felt eyes.

Secure around the base of the foam ball with a zip tie. Cut off extra zip tie.

Finally, add the Halloween ribbon around the zip tie!

I added them to my Halloween mantel and they look so cute! My husband doesn’t like the eyes but I really don’t care – LOL!

I love beaded wreaths! They are so pretty but can be tricky to make due to the beads wanting to rotate as you add your floral. I took the guesswork out for you by creating this tutorial. Follow along to create your own!

Materials needed for Beaded Halloween Wreath

• Wood beaded wreath form
• Matte black spray paint
• Foam block
• Zip ties
• Floral wire
• Halloween floral (purchased mine from Walmart)
• Hot glue gun
• Halloween ribbon

Begin by spray painting your wood beaded wreath form with the matte black spray paint. Lightly spray and allow to dry, continue until covered to your liking. It doesn’t have to be perfect because a little bit of wood showing looks farmhouse-y.

Cut foam blocks to fit on inner part of your wreath. Attach the foam blocks with zip ties.

Grab your Halloween floral. I pulled off the blooms and placed them first before adhering with the hot glue. That way you are not stuck with a design you are not happy with.

Once you have the floral arranged as you like, begin adhering with the hot glue gun. With the specific floral I chose, I pulled off the skull to place in the center of the flowers.

Now to secure the floral so it weight does not pull it forward when you hang it. Turn your wreath over. Grab some floral wire and use it to secure the longer branches on the sides. This will make the wreath more secure.

To finish it off, add to some ribbon to the stop to create a door hanger.

I love how this turned out! Any variation on this will be stunning. Add a raven hanging from the top or some spider webbing! You can make it yours! Share your creations on our Facebook page!

One of my favorite things to make with my xTool M1 is earrings. Going out for a date night? Make new earrings. Holiday time? Make new earrings. Baseball game? Make new earrings. It’s so fast and easy to customize any look. Our Christmas Earrings will complete any holiday party outfit!

Materials needed to make your own Christmas Earrings

• xTool M1 10W
• Brown acyrlic
• 3mm basswood
• Red acrylic
• Vinyl
• Transfer tape
• Red pom poms
• Hot glue gun
• Earring hardware

Because the xTool M1 uses a diode laser, you are limited in the acrylic colors you can cut. However, the ones available are perfect for Christmas! Download the Christmas Earrings file from the bottom of this post.

Open xTool Creative Space (XCS) and upload the reindeer earring cut file. Open lid of xTool and place the brown acrylic on triangle prisms. Close the lid to refresh the real time materials picture. Arrange your reindeer earring file and duplicate image to cut both earrings. You will need to add a small circle to the top of the reindeer in order to add the earring hardware when complete. While the image is still highlighted, adjust your settings to laser flat, BLACK acrylic and raised on triangle prisms. You will also need to change from score to cut.

Once arranged to your liking, send the image to the xTool by clicking process in the lower right hand corner. Click start and then press the flashing button on the front of the xTool. Your image will begin cutting.

Once done cutting, remove the acrylic and carefully pop the reindeer out. You will need to remove the masking paper from each side of the earring.

Add your earring hardware. To finish these off, hot glue a small red pom pom to the front of the reindeer. How stinkin’ cute are those?!

The wreath and light bulbs are done similarly in the XCS programming. However I had to layer our materials because I was unable to cut the green acrylic. The base for the wreath and light bulb are cut from basswood. You will follow the same steps but change your material type to 3mm basswood.

Remove the triangle prisms and clean the bottom of the machine with rubbing alcohol. Allow to dry and then add the two sided adhesive mat to the bottom plate of the xTool. Add you vinyl to the adhesive mat and be sure your blade is loaded in the housing unit. Change your settings to blade cut and use it to cut the green part of the wreath and the red and silver parts of the light bulb.

I cut the red bows on the wreath from red acrylic and then hot glued them on the front of the wreath. Follow up the above steps for setting to cut the red acrylic but change material to red acrylic.

Transfer the vinyl onto the wood using transfer tape. Follow the same steps for adding the earring hardware to complete.

I freaking love these! Everyone keeps asking if I will sell them!

Cricut Explore or Maker
Iron on vinyl – you choose the colors
Light grip mat
Basic tool set
Fine point blade
Long sleeve shirt
EasyPress 2

1. Begin by downloading the free file below and upload it into Cricut Design Space.
2. Measure your shirt and size the image appropriately in the software.
3. Once finalized, send the image to cut and follow directions for cutting.  
4. Don’t forget to mirror your image as you are working with iron on vinyl.  Otherwise your design will be backwards.
5. Repeat above process for each color layer.
6. Weed excess vinyl away from image using the basic tool set.
7. Set EasyPress to 315 degrees.  Pre-heat tshirt for 5 seconds.  Arrange image on shirt.  Apply heat and pressure for 30 seconds.  Flip material over and apply heat for an additional 15 seconds.
8. Peel away clear liner while warm.

I love being able to give away the platter or plate that I share goodies on. It’s so much easier than trying to track down missing items. My go-to is a plain white plate or platter from Wal-mart that you can decorate for the occasion. This Christmas Cookie Plate is a friendly reminder to enjoy the holiday and not worry about your waistline.

Materials needed for Christmas Cookie Plate

Cricut Explore or Maker or xTool M1
Adhesive vinyl
Light grip mat
Basic tool set
Transfer tape
Fine point blade
White plate or platter

1. Begin by downloading the free file below and uploading into Cricut Design Space or xTool Creative Space.
2. Measure your plate or platter and size image appropriately in the software.
3. Once finalized, send the image to cut and follow directions for cutting.  
4. Weed excess vinyl away from image using the basic tool set.
5. Peel back transfer tape and place directly over the image.  Use the scraper tool to burnish image to the transfer tape.  Gently peel the transfer tape away from the vinyl backing.  The vinyl image should now be on the transfer tape.
6. Arrange the transfer tape with the vinyl image on the plate/platter.  Burnish with scraper tool to adhere to the plate/platter.
7. Carefully peel back the transfer tape.  Your image should now be affixed to the plate or platter! Your Christmas Cookie Plate is ready for gifting!

One of the coolest things about xTool is the library full of free projects! Users and official xTool upload projects for you to choose from. I found this pumpkin lantern in the project library and knew it would be perfect for my harvest tablescape.

Materials needed for Wooden Pumpkin Lantern

• xTool M1 10W
• 3mm basswood
• Hot glue/hot glue gun
• Small greenery wreath
• Wired jute twine
• Battery operated tea light

Open xTool Creative Space (XCS). In the upper right hand corner, click xTool Projects. Scroll down to the xTool Exclusive Projects and click see more. Scroll through the library and choose the Pumpkin Candle Holder. When you open the project, it will give you the option to open in XCS or download the file. I opened it in XCS. The instructions for assembly are included.

(Since this project was made for a P2, you will need to click the connect machine option in the upper right hand corner to adjust to the M1.)

Load your basswood into the M1. Be sure to place on top of the triangle prisms. Close the lid to refresh the image on your canvas. Size the project to your real time material image. Check to be sure your settings are as follows…

Laser flat
3mm basswood
Triangle prisms

Click on the image and check that “cut” is selected for your image. Once you have it set as you want it, click “process” and then click “start”. Press the flashing button on the front of your M1 to begin laser cutting your wooden pumpkin lantern.

Cutting time was a little over 18 minutes.

The machine will beep when cutting is complete. Open lid and remove the wood.

Carefully punch out the cut pieces of the wooden pumpkin lantern.

I find it easiest to use a little bit of hot glue on each piece when assembling. Otherwise, the pieces do not stay in place and makes it difficult to put together. Assemble according to instructions that were listed in project library.

Once assembly was complete, I added a piece of wired jute twine and some greenery to the stem of the pumpkin lantern. Place on a small wreath and add a battery operated tea light and you have the perfect centerpiece for Thanksgiving!

I absolutely love how this Wooden Pumpkin Lantern turned out and cannot wait to show it off this fall.
