Erwin Bauer is an austrian designer based in Wien. I chose Mumok’s restaurant and hotel campaign (Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien), Erwin Bauer alludes to moderner artists with relevance and accuracy.

Domenica Mattina is a graphic design studio based in Italy. “Studio grafico competente, agile, creativo e onesto.”

Stina Persson is an illustrator based in Stockholm, Sweden. She works with many fashion magazines and all sorts of clients.

Design of new swiss banknotes created by Manuela Pfrunder, second prize for the banknote design competition of Swiss National Bank . Swiss graphic designer, she’s based in Zurich.

Logan Wines is a boutique winery based in Mudgee NSW. Since their launch 11 years ago, Logan wines have built a reputation for beautifully crafted wines that occupy a top-end niche position in Australia and key overseas markets including Japan and the UK. The brand’s core drinkers could be best described as investigative connoisseurs – those not afraid to try something else in the pursuit of excellence. Late in 2007 the winery principals, Hannah and Peter Logan commissioned War Design to develop a brand brochure and redesign their signature wine label.

The Logan identity reflects the attention to detail, personal and highly crafted approach the Logan’s take to everything they do. This is articulated through hand drawn typography, combined with playful copywriting, beautiful imagery and an attention to production and printing quality. All these elements ensure a memorable piece.

Logan Wine Labels

Taking the lead from Logan’s bold and highly individual approach to winemaking, a concept based upon embroidery was chosen as an ideal metaphor to the care and effort placed into the wine. The concept required the embroidering of beautifully intricate compositions of fruits, berries, leaves and flowers to represent the textures and flavours of each varietal. These stunning representations were then rolled out across all touch points. Thanks must go to Delma – the lovely embroiderer that brought the concept to life, stitch by painstaking stitch. One very talented lady indeed!

Outcome

The result? Well its early days but we are sure it will mean Increased sales, new markets, design awards and a new identity that truly reflects the brand attributes and the quality product within each bottle. We will keep you posted.

“The ketubah (a Jewish prenuptial agreement) is one of the predominant forms of Jewish art. Here, using a different typeface for each language appearing in this multilingual Ketubah (Hebrew, Yiddish, English, French and Spanish), I had a great pleasure exploring a more traditional aspects of Hebrew and Latin typography, trying to combine it with my own style.”

Alex Trochut is a graduate of Barcelona’s ELISAVA Escola Superior de Disseny. After graduation he did some internships in Berlin, and is now working freelance in Barcelona with major clients doing some innovative and fresh illustrative typography.

Since Mads Berg graduated as an illustrator from ‘Danmarks Designskole’ in Copenhagen he’s been working as a freelance illustrator. He always pays attention to detail, and all of his work has this cool retro feeling. He’s highly influenced by old danish posterdesigners – in particular Sven Brasch.

Siggi Eggertson is originally from and educated in Iceland. He has worked in New York, London and now Berlin. His illustration style looks like sewn patchwork quilts combined with 8bit computer graphics. Very unique!
