British cake producer Mr Kipling is celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with its latest national advertising campaign.

“Created by JWT London, the ‘Jubilee Celebrations’ campaign comprises a series of ads which show Mr Kipling’s celebratory special Jubilee editions – Great British Fancies and the new Victoria Mini Classics recipe – as well as some of Mr Kipling’s classic cakes. The creative shows miniature figurines enjoying the Jubilee celebrations.”

Koolfoam Mattress: Lullaby (India)

Soft mattresses for sound sleep is the latest slogan for Indian mattress producer Koolfoam. Their latest print campaign called “Lullaby” was created by Mumbai ad agency Rediffusion Y&R.

The adverts which feature a baby, a grandma and a fatman asleep are beautifully illustrated in an indian style. Around the three characters there are tiny people in typical Indian costumes who take care of their sleep: they are singing and playing lullabies for the baby, dancing for the grandma and feeding the fatman.

Indio Cerveza

Mexican beer (cerveza) brand Indio had their brand identity redesigned, introducing a new logo and packaging design.

Originally Indio was called Cerveza Cuauhtémoc after the sixteenth-century Mexican emperor back in 1893. But amongst consumers the beer was called Indio,consequently in 1905 the beer renamed itself.

London based Bulletproff was in charge of the redesign, this is what they have to say about the project.” Getting our Mexican on… researching the brand’s Mexican roots, deconstructing the brand identity and stripping away the unnecessary noise to find our Indio hero again. The Sunstone inspired brand identity takes its inspiration from Aztec calendars – embedding elements of discovery within the dial, each icon represents a different product, brand or consumer truth. Cuauhtémoc takes a confident new stance illustrated in the bold colors of the Mexican flag. While not forgetting the rich Indio brand heritage, the new identity conveys a progressive spirit, inspiring consumers to search for things that are not instantly identifiable — “La cosa es buscarle” (the point is to search).” via underconsideration

Japan has a strong history and visual culture which is widely spread around the world. Icons such as the Koi fish, Kimono or the noble woman are instantly recognisable as being Japanese.

New York designer Christopher Dina designed these lovely Japanese symbols for the “Japan Day” at the Central park 2012. The icons above represent Japanese arts and crafts, fashion, pop culture, music and more.

I love the simplicity of these Japanese symbols, I also like the main image where all symbols are places into central park surrounded by trees and the city buildings.

If I would live in New York I would definitely check out the event and get stuck into all the activities. via designboom

African art exhibition ‘Geometric primitives’

Colourful and geometric african art has found its way into the gallery space of the Pace Primitive art gallery in New York. Ryan McGinness designed the ”Geometric primitives’ display which is influenced by African tribal motifs, featuring paintings, sculptures and printed pieces.
