its all the end of Day 2 of 2nd Test in Ashes 2009. At the moment its the cause of bad light and the match is only delayed but very less chanc of players going down to the pitch. The day went fully to england and the match is also going towards them. After the overnight score of 364-6, England were ruled out by Australia on 425 before some play remained in the 1st session of day 1.

It was only the 1st some hours on the day 2 where Australia would have felt better but than came the worse part after the came down with bat. Aussies have to loose 2 wickets for 20 runs till lunch. Then they were never in the match. At the end of 3rd session or the day Australia were 156-8.

Anderson came hard against all the Aussie batters. He picked up 4-36 in the day. Onions, Flintoff and Broad equally supported Anderson with some wickets on their bag.

Australia might follow on on the Day 3 and pretty difficult task for the World Champions. Here is the final scorecard at the end of day 2:

<tr test, two giants will battle in Lords for the second test of Ashes 2009. Though the Flintoff retirement has created a lot of hype in the world of cricket, both teams will concentrate on this particular match. Australia are quite disappointed that the first test though dominated by them couldn't be won. In one view, as Aussies were dominating the rhythm is with them while other may think that the morale of England is high with such a brave finish.

Match details: England Vs Australia - 2nd test of Ashes 2009
Date: 16 th July, 2009. Time: 11:00 (local), 10:00 GMT, 15:30 in India

The big challege for England is that Australians were defeated in Lords only once and that too way back in 1934. Flintoff injury is a big concern for which Harmisson may be in. Similarly, England may opt to drop an spinner which is likely to be Monty Panesar for whom Graham Onions is likely to be the replacement. Talking fairly, England are the underdogs for the match.

On other side, Aussies may come unchanged as Brett Lee is still unfit and they have been backing their decisions to drop Stuart Clark. Hilfenhaus and Johnson will continue their role in the team. Finally, another big thing about the match is that Ricky Ponting just requires 65 runs to break the record of Allan Border of being the top scorer for Australia in tests.

Where can you watch Australia vs England - 2nd test live?

On TV: Sky Sports in UK, Fox sports in Australia, Star Cricket in India and click here for more.

On Internet: Some sites are providing live streams. Click here to know about some.

Gambhir moves to no.1 in ICC test ranking

Gautam Gambhir has climbed up to no.1 in ICC test batting rankings after failure of Mohammad Yousuf. As they established a healthy first innings lead and put England in twenty minutes before tea on day four, I am sure I wasn’t alone in feeling a sense of dread. Our worst fears were realised as England were reduced to 20-2 at the break. Thankfully, and crucially, the Welsh weather intervened and wiped out a final session which surely would have given Australia the extra time needed to polish off the England batting line-up.

That said, they nearly didn’t need it as at Sunday lunchtime the odds on a draw were long to say the least. With 70 overs remaining England were 70-5, thirty overs later they were 159-7 and the subdued crowd were contemplating a heavy, humiliating and all too familiar inning defeat at the hands of the old enemy.

But the British love an underdog, a fighter, a man defying the odds. On Sunday that man was Paul Collingwood, whose brave five hour innings dragged his side back into the game and gave hope to the awakening crowd. He was ably assisted by Graeme Swann who hit a handy 31. But when Collingwood’s heroic innings was finally brought to an end, bringing last man Monty Panesar to the crease, there were still over 11 overs left to be bowled.

An unlikely batting hero as you would ever see, Monty survived alongside James Anderson, with the crowd living and breathing each ball they blocked out. As Ponting and Anderson shook hands, signalling the end of the game, the huge cheer that ran round the stadium was reminiscent of the famous 2005 series, even if the performance wasn’t.

Make no mistake, England got away with it and were not far away from a crushing loss. But this Australian side, while still world class, is not what it once was. I feel the likes of Warne and McGrath would not have let this opportunity slip from their grasp.

The test may have ended in a draw but it was a psychological victory for England who could, and perhaps should, have lost. But the fact they avoided defeat, in such spectacular and dramatic circumstances, could give them crucial momentum as they prepare to do it all over again at Lord’s.

Make sure you keep up-to-date with the Lord's Test odds ahead of any Lord's Test betting and take a look at Betfair's new fanvfan site for some more good old-fashioned rivalry!

Ashes 2009: England Vs Australia 1st Test - Highlights

Australia Vs England 2009 Ashes - First Test

Here are the Links to watch the video coverage of Australia Vs England Ashes 2009 1st Test in England. The rankings are calculated by teams / players performance providing ratings using statistical formula. Though even the ICC has itself agreed that rankings are not the complete measure of greatness of team or players, rankings have many times been burning topics in the world of cricket.

ICC Team rankings:

ICC provides team rankings for both ODI and test cricket by providing ratings points. Australia has been in no.1 since the establishment of test rankings. About ODI, Australia's dominance in ranking has been challenged by South Africa. On the end of a year, the top team is awarded with ICC test or ODI championship award. Here is the ICC team rankings:
or click here for team rankings.

ICC Player Rankings:
ICC has provided batsmen rankings, bowlers rankings and all-rounder rankings for test and ODI cricket. For T20 its still to be made. ICC has following players rankings:

Test Player ranking

Test Batsman ranking

Test bowler ranking

Test all-rounder ranking

ODI player ranking:

ODI batsmen ranking

ODI bowler ranking

ODI all-rounder ranking.

Rankings are calculated on basis of its complex statistical system. Seeing the first and second ODI, West Indies seem to be better with contributions from most of the players in each form of cricket. West Indies has got good opening with the bat with Gayle and Morton. The bowling which seemed off the target in first ODI improved a great extent in the second one.

West Indies v India - 3rd ODI at Gros Islet
Date: Jul 3 Match time: 09:30 local, 13:30 GMT,

India has now problems in opening with both bat and ball. Gautam Gambhir in some recent matches has stuggled. In absence of Sehwag another genuine opener required. Dhoni and Yuvraj are in good touch but rest seem to be struggling. Bowling is nowhere praise worthy. Ishant Shama, Praveen Kumar and RP Singh are not able to provide quick breakthroughs in the top and spinners too have not been so impressive.

For third ODI, Gambhir must come back to the form and either Yuvraj or Dhoni must lead the innings if India are to make a good impression with the bat. For bowling extras must be minimized and the openers must make definite strategy against Gayle.

Watch India Vs West Indies 3rd ODI live:

On TV: Ten Sports and Doordarshan will broadcast it live in India. Find TV channels on other coutries.

Internet : Click here for details.

India Vs West Indies 2nd ODI 2009 in Jamaica - Preview

After The World T20, the first ODI was played in T20 style with high run rate and massive total. The second ODI is to be played in same ground with almost same players and of course same teams which means another T20-like ODI can be expected. Though India is leading 1-0 in the series, it seemed that Yuvraj Singh's brilliance was the only cause of their win in first ODI. This time India requires more effective bowling and a better opening with bat capable of playing against short-balls and express deliveries of Taylor crossing 90 mph.

Match Details:
India Vs West Indies second ODI
Date: 28th June, 2009
Time: 09:30 local, 14:30 GMT, 8:00 PM India
Venue: Kingston, Jamaica

Indian bowling was horrible and their inning with bat was due to one man. On other hand, West Indies though couldn't chase the target batted beautifully with four players making valuable contributions. West Indies managed a team work. India are likely to come with the same team, so Gambhir and Rohit Sharma today must be able to play well against the fast ball to give India a better start. Indian bowlers must reduce the extras which were flowing in first ODI.

Watch out for:Yuvraj Singh: Who made a superb century last time.
Darren Bravo: Played a short-inning of 19 but look handy with the bat and reminded of Brian Lara.

Watch India Vs West Indies second ODI live:

On TV: The tourists, however, only have one spinner in their ranks, Nathan Hauritz, who is relatively inexperienced with only four tests under his belt.

He had the chance to respond in Hove this week as the tourists warmed-up for the opener in less than three weeks. However Hauritz struggled, limping to 0-98 off 18 overs. Australia have since gone on a charm offensive with coach Tim Nielsen claiming a twin spin attack from England will pile the pressure on them rather than the tourists. Ricky Ponting also waded in, claiming he has plenty of men in his line-up who can tweak a ball or too.

Also this defensive talk from the Aussies is very encouraging from an English point of view; however we mustn’t be over confident. Away from spin they still have an imposing pace quartet of Siddle, Lee, Clark and Hilfenhaus, and after all didn’t people predict a tight and competitive series in 2006/07?

England can perhaps claim the first moral victory in what is only a preview to the main event next month. But far tougher challenges lie ahead and once that first ball is bowled in anger, all the chat and banter spoken beforehand will be forgotten.

Make sure you keep up-to-date with the Ashes odds so you can make an informed 2009 ashes bet and if you want to get in the betting mood, check out Betfair's fanvfan site.

India Vs West Indies 2009 - LIVE

After the failure in the T20 Wolrd Cup in England the Indian team will travel across the West Indies for the 4-match ODI series starting from the 26th of June 2009. The two asian giants will be meeting each other in the finals at the stadium of lords on 21st of June 2009. The schedule of Sri lanka Vs Pakistan in final of T20 World Cup 2009 is:

Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka - Finals - ICC World Twenty20 2009
On June 21 Sunday 2009
Venue : Lord's Stadium, London
At 15:00 Local, 14:00 GMT, 19:00 Pakistan time, 19:30 Indian time

Beating the undefeated South African team in the finals with great all-round performance, Pakistan team looks in great form. Especially it is important that some of the active members in the team are fired up. The bowling attack seems to best in the T20 cricket which has a lots of variety. Adding thoughts to the last matches played really the spinners are doing a brilliant job in the middle. Shahid Afridi again looks as the strong contender for the player of tournament.

The undefeated team in the ICC T20 World Cup 2009, Sri Lanka lead by its new captain Sangakkara won't have expected more than this to happen before they join England. Fabulous entry to the Super Eight by defeating West Indies and Australia made them the strongest side in Super 8 stage. This prestige went on when it defeated all its challengers in the super eight stage and then what a semi-final they have had. Everything till this moment seems to be favoring the side. The batting and bowling line-up has a great common point that they are brilliant.

Talking to the super eight match which was played in different scenario to the finals. Pressure will be more in the both sides. Pakistan was defeated in the last appearance between them in group stage. But how they came back after that match is more important. Interesting fact is that Paistan have already defeated a unbeaten team in the semis.

Eyes will be on every players on the squad as one of their performance can be regarded make a difference. It looks like the players will be the same who have made their place in the finals.

Watch Live Final of T20 World Cup 2009 : Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka

On TV: As the other matches in the tournament the SRL vs PAK match will be also shown live streaming the same channels. Both teams have emerged as two great bowling sides. Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal are two top bowlers with most wickets in the tournament. Shahid Afridi is showing superb all-round performance. Ajantha Mendis is still mysterious and Murali is of course always in action.

Pakistan v Sri Lanka - ICC World T20 final, 2009
Date: Jun 21 | Time : 15:00 local, 14:00 GMT, 19:30 India, 19:00 Pakistan
Venue : Lords

Pakistan has been benefited by individual performance in most of the matches. In super-8's when they were in do or die situation,Umar Gul took 5 wickets and won the match singly against New Zealand. In semis, Shahid Afridi alone showed all-round performance. Though bowling has been great, apart from Younis Khan, no batsman has shown the consistency. So, they must play as a team in the final. They require some solid opening. Time is running out for Shoaib Malik and Misbah-ul-Haq.

Sri Lanka are undefeated in the series. Their batsmen are in top form. They have played beautifully in the series but I find fast bowling as their weakness. They must have some solid opening with the ball. Chamara Silva alone seems to be a player out of form.

Sri Lanka's form and the winning streak signals towards them being ahead but Pakistan are unpredictable and the match is going to be a close encounter. We can expect a very close and exciting final similar to that of World T20 2007.
