When a local community centre had problems of youths hanging around and the ongoing damage caused to windows the sought and end to their troubles.

CSM Shutters & Grilles Ltd were contacted to come up with a solution. We spoke with the customer about their needs and advised on several options. The first was a window security grille fitted to the outside protecting against window breakages,but they also wanted to stop people looking in whilst the centre was closed, we then advised that roller shutters was the best option.

The security roller shutters were ordered and installed the following week this including powder coating and full survey.

They required 16 roller shutters all working from 2 internally mounted key switches, CSM Shutters and Grilles Ltd arranged for 2 multi control units to be wired so that they worked together from a single key switch.

One other problem was that they had to be powder coated to Cadbury Purple, this was a unique colour and not available on RAL charts. We contacted our specialist powder coaters and they gained permission to use the correct paint mix from Cadbury. 

Working along side the installation team of Rolflex Doors the fitment and wiring only took 3 days, we managed to do this working with the staff at Solo causing no hold ups to their every day tasks. 

As the pictures below show the look and security of the building was totally enhanced. Using Security Roller Shutters for Window Security was the perfect resolution to the problem of securing portable cabin style buildings.

CSM were approached to see what we could offer. After viewing their factory and finding they had copper vats for the manufacturing of soap, we knew that the building had to be have a High Level Security installed. 

Retractable Gates seemed the best product as they offer a high level of visual and physical security but the owner was worried about the window and glass security still being vulnerable to attack.

What we came up with was a combined solution. Retractable Security Gates were installed to all of the doors, including fire escapes where they were to be opened during operating hours and Vision Shield for the Window Security.

By combining 2 levels of High Security products both ourselves and the customer felt the building was now fully secured against all levels of attack.

This was evident recently when Window and Door Security were approached by Redcar & Cleveland council, their problem was the ongoing attack at a Mosque in Middlesborough.

In partnership with CSM Shutters & Grilles Ltd a survey and was carried out demonstrating the strength of products, also the way they blend into a building without being seen to the untrained eye. 

Both parties from the Mosque and council we so impressed an order was raised that day for the installation.

Less than 2 weeks later the Vision Shields  were installed, we arranged that we worked around daily prayers so that day to day running was not affected, and all involved were amazed at how professional our installers were.

The following we were contacted to say that once again the house had been attacked by local kids throwing stones. When Balfour Beatty one of the UK’s top building contractors extended their North London office, they were faced with the problem of securing their property against vandalism and possible break in.
Following on from previous window security installations carried, out CSM were again called in.
The problems we faced were securing 2 windows and 1 door glass. A single shutter across the whole frontage would have been perfect but we were not to encroach onto the pavement. This raised a whole new problem, but a simple yet effective solution was gained.

The 2 windows were fitted with security shutters, both operated independently from its own internal key switch. The benefit of this was that each office had its own shutter control, both the offices suffered from sunshine coming through the window in the afternoon, this then allowed the shutters to be lowered to the correct position to act as a sunshade.

We were then left with the problem of securing the glass in the door. Vision shield was fitted to the door to offer superb glass protection. Vision shield is a 4mm poly carbonate with a hardened coated surface. The coating is scratch resistant against everyday use, such as cleaning and possible scrapes, it also allows for the removal of graffiti without causing misting or surface damage to the poly carbonate. The screen is mounted into our aluminium frame, that is powder coated to match any existing door colour, making this the most invisible yet secure product of its type. Vision shield is the number 1 product when securing windows, it offers the highest level of window security, and the best alternative to ugly prison like window grilles.
