Minecraft New Jungle Specific Tamable Mob Ocelot Plus Other Additions

We’ve recently talked about the latest changes that the developing company Mojang will be making to Minecraft. We’ve talked about the new biome, the ‘Jungle’ environment. Well now a test patch (Snapshot 12W04A) has released which adds a Jungle biome specific mob which resembles a Jaguar called Ocelot (not the name I would of chosen) and is tamable to add to your collection of pets.

This isn’t the only addition that this newest test patch brings to the table, there is also a new potion that can be made to help the leveling process. The potion “Bottle o’ Enchanting” drops two experience orbs after you throw the bottle on the ground. There is also a new item called a “Fire Charge” that (as far as we know) acts just like a ‘Flint and Tender’. It is unclear if there are any other uses for the Fire Charge but we’ll try to keep you updated as these details are released.

The Avengers: Surprise Cameo and Empire Magazine Cover Art

Some new images from the upcoming hero movie ‘The Avengers‘ has shown up on the covers of some Empire Magazines. You can view these images below, from what I can tell Captain America (played by Chris Evans) is getting a new suit that has more of a modern feel to it.

The Iron Man (played by Robert Downey Jr.) suit has the circle emblem in the chest plate (just like in the first movie) but in the movie trailer he has the triangle shaped emblem (just like at the end of the second movie). I have two theories as to why this is… either they got lazy and just picked out an old Iron Man photo to slap on the cover or Iron Man’s uses more then one model of suit in the movie.

Maybe his suit gets damaged and he has to use a back-up suit or maybe his current suit wasn’t getting the job done so he had to resort to a new model that has the classic circle shaped hole in the front… maybe I’m just giving this too much thought.

All this prior information pales in comparison to the surprise cameo that might be in this upcoming Marvel movie.

For anyone familiar with the comic history of The Avengers knows that a certain spider-like hero has helped out the group in many different situations and eventually becomes part of the group in The New Avengers… well it seems that Spider-Man may get his own cameo in this hero tag-team film. A recent interview between The Radio Times and Jenny Agutter (who plays a female council member in the movie) let it slip that when she first arrived on set that there were two Winnebagos which belonged to Iron Man and the other to Spider-Man.

If this is true then it can be a bit confusing since the upcoming Spider-Man movie (titled The Amazing Spider-Man) will be a reboot movie going back to Spider-Man’s origin. The Avengers will be hitting theaters before The Amazing Spider-Man… so he is going to play a cameo before his origin? Maybe it will be something very subtle… maybe Andrew Garfield (who will be playing the star in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’) will just be playing a cameo of Peter Parker before the spider bite who just shows up for one scene for a few seconds.

This news is very exciting for two reasons… for starters, cameos are awesome (expecially cameos for Marvel movies)… also, this may be hinting that Spider-Man will be in a sequel kickstarting The New Avengers. All of this is under the assumption that Jenny Agutters information is correct… she could of got the hero names mixed up and said Spider-Man without really thinking about it or there may be some other confusion in the works here. In any case, I’m psyched to see this movie.

New Johnny Depp Images in Tim Burton’s ‘Dark Shadows’

A few new images have been released from the set of Tim Burton’s latest movie ‘Dark Shadows‘. The image above shows Johnny Depp with the director as Burton gives Johnny a few pointers.

For those who haven’t read the last Dark Shadows post (which explained a little of the plot} this movie follows the life of Barnabas Collins… a vampire who meets up with various monsters, witches, werewolves, and ghosts. This description comes directly from the classic TV show of the same name that this movie is based off of. Keep reading for a more detailed description below.

Synopsis by Geeks of Doom:

In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet-or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy…until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive.

Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better.

The first image below shows Depp with Michelle Pfeiffer while the second shows a more frontal image of Johnny Depp. Both of these images clearly show off Tim Burton’s dark style of movie making that we’ve all grown accustomed to.

Snow White and The Huntsman First Trailer Plus Movie Details

I’m not a Twilight fan but this Snow White retelling with Twilight’s Kristen Stewart looks to be a movie worth seeing in theaters. To be honest I was a little shocked at how well the ‘Snow White and The Huntsman‘ trailer looked, I really didn’t care about seeing this movie up until now.

I did find it a little funny seeing Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman in the trailer, it seems he has put down his Thor Hammer for an axe (type-casting?)… either way he is the hero. I have to say Charlize Theron has always been an amazing actress and she’s no different in this film, I was really impressed by what I saw of her performance.

The release date for ‘Snow White and The Huntsman’ has been set for June 1st, 2012!

Basically this movie has Kristen Stewart playing Snow White, a princess who has been deemed the “fairest in the land”. Fueled by jealousy and the need to stay young forever, Queen Ravenna wishes to kidnap Snow White to drain her of her youth. To get the job done she hires a Huntsman to capture the girl only to find that the Huntsman has betrayed the evil Queen. He trains Snow White in the art of combat along with seven warrior dwarfs as they help her lead a rebellion against the Queen’s forces.

Minecraft New Test Patch Brings Jumgle Biomes, Wolf Breeding and More!

I am a huge fan of all things Minecraft related, I’ve been flip-flopping between different servers trying to find the best fit (currently on Timcraft.Timgaming.com). Even though this sandbox game has been released for some time now, Jeb (Jens Bergensten, Minecraft Developer) over at Mojang is still rolling out updates with more on the way.

Patch 1.2 isn’t officially out yet but it is up for grabs for anyone willing to test it out. For all the details on the test patch Snapshot 12w03a check out the new features below…

• Ladders regained their collision box, and vines are climbable when they have a solid block behind them
• Added jungle biome (requires a new world) with new tree and leaf types
• Updated language files
• Dispensers will place mobs instead of releasing the spawner egg
• Zombies have new path-finding AI
• Wolves have new AI and can be bred (when tame)

Final Fantasy 13-2 Playable Demo Gameplay Video

Its been a while since I’ve picked up a Final Fantasy game and played all the way through it. In fact the last Final Fantasy game I remember playing was FF12 but I only played for about twenty minutes and before that I played about twenty minutes of FF 10-2 and before that I beat FF 10. Besides that I have added Final Fantasy seven and eight to my repertoire (sadly I haven’t played 9 but I’ve heard it’s awesome).

After watching the gameplay video below of Final Fantasy 13-2, it has put me back in the Final Fantasy spirit. If I’m not mistaken the video below shows very early gameplay, this may even be part of the tutorial. The video shows off gorgeous graphics (Square Enix has done it again) and a big boss fight with a creature called Atlas as they attempt to control him.

If we can expect big boss battles this early in the game then I can’t wait to see what they have in store for the later parts of the game. The playable demo is now available for the Playstation Network and Xbox Live! The release date is currently set for January 31, 2012.

Marvel Avengers Alliance and Disney Facebook Games

Disney has set its sights on Facebook as they are releasing a Facebook game based off their subsidiary company Marvel Comics. This super hero Facebook game titled ‘Marvel Avengers Alliance‘ is being released by Playdom and will be released sometime in the first quarter of this year.

As you play the game you will collect many different Marvel super-heroes and villains. Once collected you can upgrade your abilities and stats. We can only assume that this is just the beginning for Disney, we can expect to see more Disney games to come in the near future.

Possible Pinocchio Live Action Movie With Tim Burton And Robert Downey Jr.

A live action Pinocchio is in the works by Warner Brothers and a script has been written by Bryan Fuller who also wrote episodes of Star Trek: Voyager, Wonderfalls, Pushing Daisies, and Heroes.

This is the first script that Fuller has wrote for a feature film which would normally have me worried if it wasn’t for Tim Burton taking an interest in the project. Also Tim Burton has expressed that the actor at the top of his list to play Geppetto is none other then the talented Robert Downey Jr.!

Tim Burton is a big enough name to get me interested in this movie but if he can tie Downey Jr. to the project then this movie becomes a ‘must see’ in my book.

I’m already looking forward to a trailer and to see this in theaters… what do you guys think?

Bootleg ‘Dark Knight Rises’ First 6 Minutes Plus New Teaser Footage

A video has surfaced on the net showing off the first six minutes of the upcoming hero flick ‘The Dark Knight Rises‘. Judging from the poor quality of the video, it appears to be a bootleg video but it paints a good picture of what to expect from the opening.

After looking over the video myself, I can tell that the director Christopher Nolan has done a great job bringing you jaw-dropping moments that he is famous for in the previous movies but the villain Bane (played by Tom Hardy) is poorly done. You will (more then once) be asking yourself “What did Bane just say?”, he has a device covering his mouth and speaks with a robotic (ish) voice that is extremely hard to hear.

There has been rumors that the editors for the movie have touched on the voice to make him more audible but I’m not sure if this video is a representation of before this touch-up or after.

As for the appearance of Bane, I’m fine with the way he is portrayed as long as he gets more beefed up later in the movie after using the toxic ‘Bane’ serum. Also, I don’t know much about the comic lore behind Bane but I’m thinking that he wasn’t exactly an Einstein but in the clip he seems to be the man with a plan… similar to the mastermind they made Joker appear to be in the previous film.

After the opening scene of the movie, there are some new teaser footage for a few other scenes.
