Minecraft Snapshot 1.2.5 Details and Download

Mojang has released the latest Minecraft snapshot is now available adding a ton of game bug fixes, improvements to the chat system and a few other additions / changes. All the details for the Snapshot 1.2.5 can be found below, to download the snapshot and try it out for yourself visit this link which should take you to the Minecraft official download page!

If you are new to testing out the snapshots, I have found a tutorial video by Youtuber SGCBarbierian that shows how to install a snapshot. The video shows how to install an earlier snapshot but it should work the same with the current snapshot.

Added shift clicking support in furnaces
Added method to easily acquire blocks you have selected in the world in Creative mode using the ‘pick block’ key
Made the Direct Connect dialog remember the last IP for the current session
Fixed issues detected certain links in chat
Fixed wild ocelots behaving like tamed cats
Fixed various chat crashes
Made cats less eager to sit on things
Made cats less patient
Fixed world generation failing under certain circumstances
Fixed issues turning off sound under certain circumstances
Removed all ghost entities under the command of Lord Herobrine
Fixed crash when pasting certain characters in chat
Fixed slash ‘/’ key not behaving correctly in certain environments
Fixed command matching being too greedy (for example: typing ‘/stophammertime’ no longer stops your server)
Fixed not being able to click coloured links
Fixed potential issue with village door detection (which could cause too many villagers)
Made using a stack of bowls on Mooshrooms not consume the whole stack of bowls
Made punching a TNT block with flint and steel in hand destroy and drop a TNT block (right-clicking will activate the TNT)

Anchorman 2 Finally Announced On Conan By Will Farrell

Its been a long time coming, after many rumors over the course of many months the announcement has officially went live that one of my favorite movies is finally getting a sequel. You have probably already guess by now (just take a look at the title of this post) that Paramount Pictures is currently working on Anchorman 2!

Will Farrell made this announcement personally while playing his Anchorman character Ron Burgundy as he arrived on the set of Conan playing the Jazz Flute (not really sure if that should be capitalized but there you go). For the full announcement clip be sure to view the video below!

Dreamworks Rise of the Guardians First Full Length Movie Trailer

The production company Dreamworks who brought you ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ is now bringing you another epic animated movie called ‘Rise of the Guardians‘ (no this is not a sequel to the ‘Legend of the Guardians’.

This movie is set in a world where Santa Claus, the Sandman, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy are all on a super team that protects the children of the world against evil. The movie portrays these figures in a non-traditional style, for instance Santa Claus has tattoos on his arms, one arm says ‘Naughty’ while the other says ‘Nice’ (as seen above).

Each of these figures have their own super powers in relation to their occupation, such as the Sandman can conjure creations that are made of sand that take on a life of their own.

From the looks of it Dreamworks has done a great job with this movie, I may be 22 but I love animated movies and this looks like my kind of movie. Check out the official trailer below and let me know what you guys think.

Blizzard Lies To The Community About Mists of Pandaria Beta Invites

It appears that Blizzard has lied about the beta invites for the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion Mists of Pandaria. Back when Blizzard first announced the annual pass they promised anyone who got the annual pass a guarantee beta invite at the time of launch but they have recently changed the page to say that the invites will be staggered.

The original page said under “When do I get Diablo III and other exclusive benefits?” it clearly says “beta acess will go live with the beta launch”. Since then the page has changed to say and both pages can be viewed below.

For further proof players have brought forth a Blizzcon 2011 video where in the opening ceremony the President and co-founder of Blizzard Mike Morhaine says “guaranteed access into the next World of Warcraft expansion beta when it goes live”.

I guess they had more people to buy the annual pass then they anticipated and can’t give out all the beta invites at once but they really should of thought of that before making the offer, people expect to get what they pay for.

The Three Stooges Movie First Full Length Trailer

For me and for plenty of other people out there, we grew up watching The Three Stooges and we all know that they were at their peak when it was the original three stooges Larry, Curly, and Moe. We’ve talked about this upcoming Stooge movie before but now the official trailer has been released and I’m surprised how good this trailer looks.

When I first heard that they were making a Three Stooges movie my first thought was that it will be impossible to capture the essence of the original three comedy geniuses but as far as I can tell they have done an amazing job with this upcoming film.

The actors themselves look remarkably similar to the original guys and they’ve implemented plenty of slaps, hits, and other slapstick comedy that made The Three Stooges famous around the world.

Family Guy Online Beta First Impressions

For those who don’t know about the upcoming MMO that’s centered around the world of the hit TV show Family Guy then it might interest you to read on about some of the stuff I’ve discovered in the beta so far. First of all when Family Guy Online is officially launched it will be free-to-play and a browser based game.

Now before you say “Browser based game? Yea, I’ll pass!” this particular browser game is using the amazing Unity engine which I can say from personal experience that the Unity engine has restored my faith in browser games after I played another game that uses this same engine called Guns of Icarus (here is a link if you want to check out Guns of Icarus).

• On a side note the upcoming MMO Marvel Heroes Online will also be free-to-play and use this same Unity engine but the graphics for Marvel Heroes will be far greater than Family Guy Online. Family Guy Online dumbed down the graphics to keep the feel of the show.

After receiving my beta invite I visited FamilyGuyOnline.com, I signed in and hit the Play Beta button. Since it is a browser game there was no download which is extremely convenient.

When making a new character you notice that there are five different classes to choose from. There is a Stewie class which specializes at ranged attacking using weapons and gadgets. A Meg/Chris class where you make a teenager who (don’t know a lot about this class but from what I can tell they) specialize in melee dirty fighting such as scratching but they are given some AOE and an energy bar that fills up as you attack, You can use the energy to do more damage with certain abilities.

There is a Peter class which is basically your tank class and it might also play as another melee DPS class (again not to sure about this class) depending on your play style. A Louis class, not a lot of details in the description about this class… all it really says is that she knows Karate. Finally there is a Brian class but this class is locked in the beta so there isn’t any information on this one.

I made a Stewie class just because I usually pick a ranged class, as I entered the game I started out right outside the Griffin house with Peter lounging right outside. He informs you that Chris wanted something and he’s waiting in his room which gets you started with your first line of quests in the tutorial area. The controls for the game are very standard, if you’ve played WoW or other MMOs like it then you will be very comfortable with the controls.

The quest tracker is real easy, you’re given a to-do list on the right side of the screen and on the mini map there is an arrow showing you where to go.

Just like with any beta this one has some bugs that need fixing, some of the most notable bugs are the ones that make it impossible to equip gear sometimes. Also when you enter a new area you are disconnected from the server (or at least that’s what happened to me).

The game does a relatively good job of implementing some of the show stories into the questing. My favorite quest I’ve done so far involved me meeting Stewie and Brian at the Old Abandoned House (which Family Guy fans will remember from the show as the house that they bought together, it was a dump that they tried to fix up and they eventually blew it up).

After talking with Brian and Stewie you learn that they need supplies to help fix the house and before accepting the quest you are given a clip from the show to watch which happens to be one of my favorite scenes from the show which you can view below!

Cyclops Joins The Marvel Heroes Playable Character Roster Lineup

The general of the X-Men has finally been announced for the upcoming hero / free-to-play MMO titled Marvel Heroes! Cyclops joins the ever growing list of playable characters that have already been announced by Marvel, Gazillion Entertainment, and Secret Identity Studios!

It seems that I’m caring less and less about the roster list and more about seeing some actual gameplay. At this point I’d even settle for a teaser trailer (and I hate teaser trailers). The game is supposed to be released sometime this year but no word on an exact date just yet.

Steve Carel Meets Keira Knightley In ‘Seeking a Friend for the End of the World’

The world has been a sad place since the departure of Michael Scott (Steve Carell) from The Office. The reason that he gave for leaving was he wanted to spend more time with his family which I don’t see how that’s possible since he is coming out with seven new movies including ‘Seeking a Friend for the End of the World‘ (more information on these other six movies coming soon)… oh well.

Steve Carrel joins Keira Knightley to live out the rest of their lives… or at least until the end of the world in this (sort-of) dark comedy. As you can tell from the picture above, an asteroid is headed for Earth and all attempts to stop it have failed.

This asteroid will hit the earth with enough force to wipe out all like on Earth which sends the world into a panic. Trying to find some companionship before doomsday, Steve Carell’s character Dodge joins Penny (Keira Knightley) as they keep each other company in a world that is socially falling apart as they await the end of days together.

Steve and Keira make a strange duo but they are both very talented actors and if I have the cash then I may go see this one in theaters.

Don’t miss this movie in theaters and the trailer below, the release date is set for June 22, 2012!

The Bourne Legacy Trailer – Treadstone With No Matt Damon?

The Bourne movies are not the Bourne movies without Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) and unless this movie can change my mind (which I doubt) then I am sticking by that statement. That being said, the trailer for ‘The Bourne Legacy‘ looks surprisingly good (although I don’t like to admit it).

Jeremy Renner is taking over the reins as another Treadstone pet project playing his character Aaron Cross. The movie trailer does a good job steering the crowd away from Jason Bourne making statements like “Jason Bourne was just the tip of the iceberg” “He’s Treadstone without the inconsistency”, and “We have never seen evaluations like this”.

With the Bourne franchise the fighting scenes have always been famous and the same goes for this newest addition. Although with Aaron Cross at the wheel it seems like his fighting maneuvers are a little more forced, he doesn’t’ have the fluid-like movements that Jason Bourne brought to the table… it’s hard to explain.

There are a few familiar faces from the previous films Joan Allen‘s character Pam Landy the head of the CIA, Albert Finney playing his character Dr. Albert Hirsch who was in charge of taking Treadstone applicants and turning them into killing machines. If I’m not mistaken he killed himself in ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ which means either the suicide was faked for some reason (which would be lame) or maybe the newest film takes place during the first Bourne movies (or before… it’s unknown as of now).

There is one big shimmering light of hope for this movie that can be summed up in two words… Edward Norton. I am a huge fan of Edward Norton, he makes every movie just a little bit better (okay The Incredible Hulk was not the best movie ever but it was better then the previous one with Eric Bana). Hopefully Norton will add enough quality to the movie to make it worth-while but he’s not a miracle worker.
