Let's face it, if you want to make it big with Internet marketing, you will need to know how to create high quality traffic to your website. The best and cheapest kind of traffic online is search engine traffic. Lots of backlinks pointing at your site are the one thing that will get you a good search engine rank. One way backlinks to your site are extremely important, so you have to make sure you focus on building these. The more links you have pointing to your site, the better it is. However, you have to pay attention to the quality of your links as well as the quantity. Don't spend money buying massive quantities of generic (low quality) links, but look for relevant and natural links. The best way to get quality links is to simply email and ask other webmasters in your niche. Most of the times, you'll get a positive response from this. Many people, especially newer marketers, still like to make websites based on Flash, and they do look nice but are not adviseable for SEO. However, there's no disputing the fact that Flash sites can look really impressive to people. But along the way, they forget that flash is the biggest enemy of SEO. Simply stated, Flash stops search engine spiders dead in their tracks because they can't read it. So if you are aiming for search engine traffic (which everyone should) then you need to have an HTML alternative on your site that has written content that the search engines can read and index. Just remember that you'll never have the kind of success with SEO if you use Flash.

Failing to get the most advantage in terms of SEO has to do with your URL, or domain name. Dynamic URLs still work and do get ranked, but that doesn't give you a reason to not leverage your URL for SEO purposes. You shouldn't ignore the power of using keywords, both in the main URL and in the files that are its part. You'll be giving your site a huge advantage by following this simple strategy, and of course you'll still need to do backlinking.

Backlink spamming is pretty common, but it is a practice you would best serve yourself by avoiding.

It is just not necessary to link spam anything – blogs, forums, and do stay away from link farms. It's just not worth it because your site can be totally deindexed, or your domain name can even be blacklisted and banned from the search engines. The very best approach is to obtain one-way links from high quality and relevant websites. Your search engine ranking will be much more solid, even though this approach will be time-consuming and harder to do. SEO can be learned if you do the proper research, even though the previously mentioned mistakes make it look quite complicated. The first thing you need to do is decide how to optimize your site, afterwards put all your ideas down on paper into a plan and, subsequently, implement your plan. The most important thing you can do for your site is to put in the work to generate organic traffic. Keep pushing until you actually see the results, which you will.

What does Headspace2 plugin do?

This plugin helps optimize your blog posts for your chosen keyword.

Consider for example, that I am promoting a product called Niche Blueprint 2.0 and one of the keywords I want to go for is Niche Blueprint 2.0 review. As you probably know, that having the keyword in the Post title is very important for SEO purposes so naturally our Post title will be Niche Blueprint 2.0 review.

Headspace2 adds additional SEO to the blog post which is very important, so without further delay let me demonstrate how I would go about configuring Headspace2 for this particular post.

Step 1. Download and activate the headspace2 plugin and click on Settings.

Step 2. Click on settings and select Page Modules.

Step 3. Changing the module settings

Move the Site name from the list of Disabled Modules to the top of Simple Module and click on save settings.

Step 4. Write a Post with your keyword in title. In the below screenshot, I have Niche Blueprint 2.0 review in the title.

Step 5. How to fill the Headspace settings for maximum SEO benefit.

- Scroll down and you'll find a Headspace2 setting dialog box
- In the sitename, fill the title of the post
- In the Page Title, fill the title (a question or something that entices the reader to click on your link)
- In the description, add further details as shown below.

Follow, the above steps everytime you make a new post to ensure that each post is optimized for search engines.

For example, if your site features information on how to build high quality backlinks and people search online for “how to build high quality backlinks,” you want your website to be listed in the first spot – or at least one of the top ten spots, if possible.  One good way to accomplish that is to build plenty of incoming links using the anchor text “how to build high quality backlinks”.  Anchor text means turning the keyword phrase into a live link so it looks like this:  "how to build high quality backlinks".

If your website features high-quality information, it’s possible that people will link to your site naturally, but you’ll still want to do plenty of link building yourself too.  There are plenty of ways to do this, and below are three of the most popular:

#1 – Article Marketing

There are hundreds of article directories online that are happy to allow a link back to your website in exchange for a quality article on your topic.  Using the example above, you could write brief articles sharing tips on how to build backlinks, and in your author bio box include an anchor text link back to your website.  If you write and submit plenty of articles, you’ll be building plenty of quality back links.

#2 – Social Bookmarking

Bookmarking sites like Digg.com, Stumbleupon.com, and others allow you to post links to your favorite sites, and your own can be one of them.  Even better, if other people like your site they can bookmark it too.  If you offer high quality information, you could even enjoy a bit of viral linking as people pass your link around.

#3 – Satellite Blogs

Beyond your main website or blog, you can also create smaller, niche-focused blogs that feature your articles and several anchor links back to your main site.  Some of the better known blogging platforms like Blogger and WordPress are easy to use for this purpose.

When possible, try to create back links on websites that rank well in the search engines.  A link from a site with a Google PageRank 6 will carry more weight than a link from a site with a PR 2.  The more popular and older the sites you can find to link from, the better it is for your link building efforts.
 

Mass Distribute Your Articles

If you have submitted your articles to only one or two directories you aren’t using them to their fullest potential.  Why not invest in an article distribution service, or purchase software that will distribute them to hundreds of other directories on the internet?  You can even spin (or rewrite) the articles so you are distributing unique versions of every article.

Compile a Free Report

Have you ever considered that people who read one of your articles online may not have seen your other articles too?  You can collect your very best articles and put them all together into a PDF report that you can then give away to your subscribers, or include it as a free bonus for one of your products. 

Create a Free E-Course

If you have a series of articles on the same subject that could be used as installments for an e-course, you can set them up in an autoresponder and use the “e-course” to help promote your products or other affiliate offers.  This same e-course can be used as a free gift for people who subscribe to your list, or as a “hook” to mention in your author bio boxes for article marketing.

Convert Your Articles into Other Media

Articles don’t have to be used only as text documents; you can also turn them into audio and video.  Record your articles into audio “pod casts” and submit them to the top pod cast directories.  Create informative “videos” out of your best articles using software like Camtasia.  Then submit those articles to video sharing sites to help drive even more traffic to your website.

Create Niche Blogs

Just because your articles have been published in directories and used for other purposes doesn’t mean you can’t use them to create a high-quality niche blog.  Use WordPress or Blogger to create a blog based on a specific keyword phrase that is slightly different than the ones you used for your main website.  Add 10-20 of your good articles, and make sure they all link back to your main website.  You can also include some shorter, unique posts on the blog so it’s not just duplicate content.  Keep adding to the blog frequently to keep it active.

There are many more ways to use your articles, but these should keep you busy for some time to come – especially if you have a lot of articles.

Tip #1 – It’s Not All about You

Probably some of the most boring bio boxes say something like, “George Smith has been a commercial real estate agent since 1977.  He graduated with honors from Blankety Blank University, and has been devoted to helping his clients find the best properties ever since . . .”  Ugh!  The reader does not care.  In the back of their mind they are focused on only one thing – what George can do for THEM. Consider the difference between that snooze-fest and this alternative:  “George Smith is ready to help you choose the best location for your business while also saving you time and money.  Click here to download a free 15-page report on how to buy prime business real estate for rock-bottom prices.”  Okay, that may not be the most dazzling bio box either – but it is certainly compelling and stirs curiosity, right?  Did you notice the “hook”?  The promise of a free, valuable gift like a downloadable report in your bio box is a great way to compel your readers to action!

Tip #2 – Make Your Bio Box an Extension of Your Article

Here is a tip you don’t hear mentioned often; make sure your bio box flows naturally as an extension of your article.  In other words, try not to make the last paragraph of your article a definite “ending”.  Instead, lead into your bio box from there so the bio box seems more like the ending. Example:  Last article sentence reads, “For sure there are many pitfalls in buying commercial real estate, some of which you may not be aware of yet, and having an expert to advise you is a good idea.”  Then your bio box tells them that YOU are that expert, and just how you are able to help them!

Too many choices
Guide customers towards information. Don’t overload them with too many choices. A page with hundreds of offers can be overwhelming for your prospects.

Asking too much information
If you motive is list building only ask what is required. In this instance, name and email address will suffice.

Cut to the chase
As most people have short attention span on the Internet, most people don’t read the details. Cut to the chase and help your customers by presenting them with necessary information without going into too much details.

Not Keeping your Promises
Solution: Back up what you say. Stick to your word and you’ll build credibility and repeat customers.

Visual Distractions
Again make it simpler for the customer to take action by reducing visual distractions. Put information that enhances call to action!

Lack of Credibility & Trust
Believe that your product offers value and trust yourself and only then your customers will trust you. Show trust symbols for e.g. hacker safe website, Paypal etc. Get testimonials from your existing customers and publish them to your website.

Follow the above steps and you are on your way to build a successful and fulfilling business!
