Mike Davis, a chief counsel for the nominations of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh and a judicial advisor and friend of Donald Trump, is worried that the Supreme Court will rule against Trump's executive order wiping out the 14th Amendment's birthright citizenship provision.

Davis' main argument is an interpretation of the phrase "subject to the jurisdiction thereof," which requires more than physical presence but also allegiance to the US. Davis claims children born here to migrants don't meet his standards that guarantee U.S. citizenship.

Davis joined podcaster Steve Bannon after Solicitor General John Sauer's oral arguments with the Supreme Court.

DAVID: He made a compelling case why the 14th Amendment does not provide birthright citizenship to illegal aliens, just like it did not provide birthright citizenship to American Indians.

And Congress did that by statutes later on. So I would say this: if the Supreme Court follows the clear law here, this is a very easy case.

It should be six to three, saying that birthright citizenship is not for illegal aliens, right?

If the Supreme Court follows the politics, we could see a seven-to-two decision for birthright citizenship for 1.5 million Chinese birth tourists. And I'm a little bit nervous it may be the latter by statute.

Someone is sweating bullets. If the Supremes made a "political" decision, it would be to side with Demented Donald.

Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) claimed Thursday that President Trump's firing of Attorney General Pam Bondi was motivated by a desire to block her from giving testimony in the House investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Interesting timing, eh?

“She was about to be deposed in the Epstein case,” Moulton said in an interview with MS NOW’s Chris Jansing. “That’s why Trump got rid of her 12 days before that was supposed to happen.”

Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA), the top democrat on the panel, said Thursday that Bondi is still “legally obligated” to appear for her April 14 deposition date.

When asked whether Garcia could still count on Bondi's testimony, Moulton said they would likely attempt to hold her legally accountable, but acknowledged that the current administration has shown little regard for legal accountability. The Massachusetts Democrat went on to say that he anticipates Trump will go to great lengths to prevent Bondi from testifying, as doing so could prove damaging to her reputation.

Moulton noted Blanche’s role in the Epstein case, and his background is raising serious red flags right now.

“They want to talk about masks, masks, masks,” Homan complained, presumably about the Democrats who have been demanding that the ICE agents unmask.

Homan went on to say that the reason agents are not masked at airports is that they’re “not in that heightened threat environment they have out in the field where agitators cross that line and assault them and dox them.”

“They don't want to wear masks, either. They're wearing masks out of need,” he claimed. “That proves a point.” I don’t think it proves the point he thinks it does, but I digress.

ICE agents wear masks “for their safety, themselves and their families,” Homan added.

Not surprisingly, Fox host Will Cain was all in on the fascism. “That’s a very fascinating point,” he slobbered.

Police and other law enforcement officers go into “heightened threat environments” all the time. They are not only unmasked but wear name tags. We taxpayers (that includes immigrants) pay ICE salaries. We deserve to know who is accosting us, detaining us and killing us.

Oh, and by the way? We’re still waiting to hear what happened to the $50,000 cash bribe Homan did not deny taking.

Tina Peters, the former Mesa County clerk, was convicted by a jury in a deep-red Trump stronghold for letting an outsider copy sensitive voting machine data during a 2021 software update—actions that led to passwords and images leaking online—all in a quest to hunt for 2020 election fraud that courts have repeatedly found nonexistent.

She caught a well-deserved nine-year sentence in 2024, with the judge blasting her as a "charlatan" peddling "snake oil." Yet now a Colorado appeals court has upheld the conviction but tossed the sentence, ruling the judge improperly dinged her for exercising free speech by continuing to push her wackadoodle beliefs. So she's headed back for resentencing, potentially walking free after time served. Without detailing the largest domestic cuts, the White House detailed a military budget hike of more than 40 percent for the fiscal year that begins in October. The Trump administration is formally proposing Republicans in Congress enact a large chunk of that defense cash — some $350 billion — using the party-line reconciliation process to skirt the Senate filibuster and forgo bipartisan negotiations.

Republican leaders on Capitol Hill are starting to embrace the concept of sidelining Democrats to boost Pentagon dollars and immigration enforcement accounts currently unfunded amid the broader Department of Homeland Security shutdown. The Justice Department contends that a federal law requiring the preservation of presidential records is unconstitutional, which could effectively permit White House lawyers to try to set their own voluntary presidential recordkeeping policy and, potentially, upend decades-old legal precedent established in response to Richard M. Nixon’s effort to keep control of records after his resignation.

The Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel — which is tasked with serving as a legal adviser to the U.S. attorney general and the executive branch — issued an opinion this week finding that the law, known as the Presidential Records Act of 1978, exceeds “Congress’s enumerated and implied powers, and it aggrandizes the Legislative Branch at the Expense of the constitutional independence and autonomy of the Executive.”

“The PRA is not a valid exercise of Congress’s Article I authority and unconstitutionally intrudes on the independence and autonomy of the President guaranteed by Article II,” states the memorandum opinion, which was signed by T. Elliot Gaiser, a Trump appointee.

Gaiser, who has all the usual wingnut credentials, wanted the 2020 election to be overturned. Just so you know his deep level of legal expertise!

You may have seen Brad Reese, a grandson of the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup inventor, on the air recently. He's been on a mission to restore the legacy of the candy that bears his family’s name. It started when he bit into a Reese’s Mini Heart: “It was disgusting,” he said in an interview.

Ever since, the 70-year-old's been railing against the Hershey Company, which now makes Reese’s products, on LinkedIn and in media appearances. Cheered on by chocolate fans, he has accused the company of shortchanging customers by quietly replacing the real milk chocolate in some of its candies with a chocolate-flavored substitute.

Hershey’s says that its classic peanut butter cups have always been made with real milk chocolate, and that only certain candies had used the substitute. But now, the company has announced that it will return to using “classic milk and dark chocolate recipes” in all of its products by 2027. The move is a reversal for the company, which, along with other candy brands, has reformulated some products amid rising cocoa prices, swapping expensive cocoa butter with other fats.

Among those pictured was Michigan’s U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga of Holland Township.

Huizenga’s spokesman Brian Patrick told Michigan Advance that the congressman was indeed in Scotland and that it was “a long-planned, House Ethics approved mission to strengthen our ties with allies and collaborate with U.S. officials, foreign dignitaries, and U.S. companies in the region.”

CDC Stops Testing For Rabies And Poxes, But It's All Perfectly Fine!

The CDC has "temporarily" paused testing for rabies and pox viruses, the family of viruses that includes smallpox and mpox, according to an update to the agency’s website on Monday. But don't worry, I'm sure it will all be fine!

Under "normal" (ha, ha, remember those days?) circumstances, the CDC offers testing for dozens of pathogens to assist state and local public health laboratories that aren't equipped to conduct them. The organization began evaluating its tests in late 2024 as part of an agency wide review.

But DOGE-driven layoffs, hiring freezes and resignations have shrunk the number of qualified scientists who can assist state labs. Their rabies and pox virus teams have lost many of their members. By July, the rabies team will be down to just one person with the clinical expertise to advise state and local officials, and the pox virus team will have none.

The teams already have too few members to offer after-hours advice for states as the agency has long done, according to an official with knowledge of the situation who asked to remain anonymous because of fear of retaliation.

A new report sheds light on why two Minnesota residents were unceremoniously killed by ICE agents a few months ago.

The article explains Miller's 10 am calls with DHS leaders, where he berates and bullies them into submission, and threatens their jobs unless they fulfill his deportation fantasies.

Senior Trump officials have said that Trump's mini-Goebbels, Stephen Miller, ordered ICE agents to engage with protestors more vociferously to win the PR war with the public in Minnesota, so his roving band of secret police could satisfy his appetite for chaos, fear, and violence against migrants. Not only did he demand confrontations, but Miller also sent them to areas that were heavily populated with ICE protestors.

The Daily Mail reports, "The most damaging episodes were the fatal shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, which Miller was at the center of."

On Wednesday, she degraded herself and people who call themselves Christians by comparing Donald Trump to Jesus at a White House event that hosted more than 100 evangelical and Catholic leaders at an Easter lunch, an event the administration billed as a celebration of "religious liberty."

It received so much pushback the White House deleted the event from their social media and the official White House website.
Was it the comparison to Jesus or was it Trump's declaration that the US can't pay for healthcare or daycare because we're paying for a war no one wanted?

President Trump has discussed firing Attorney General Pam Bondi in recent days as he grows frustrated with her leadership at the Justice Department and her handling of the Epstein files, according to four people familiar with the conversations.

Mr. Trump has floated the idea of replacing Ms. Bondi with Lee Zeldin, the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, the people said. They spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private deliberations by the president.

Mr. Trump has not made a final decision, and Ms. Bondi’s allies pointed to photos of her and the president traveling to the Supreme Court on Wednesday to dispute the notion that the president is planning to fire her.

“Attorney General Pam Bondi is a wonderful person and she is doing a good job,” Mr. Trump said in a statement to The New York Times. A spokesman for Ms. Bondi referred to Mr. Trump’s statement.

Sort of a planned leak, no doubt. Whether it comes to pass or not remains to be seen, but Pam Bondi should probably watch her back.

Emails obtained by The Washington Post through a public records request show the commission changed what would become a public FAQ document about the ballroom after a White House staffer asked it to soften language about the commission’s authority over the project. The commission then released the document ahead of its Jan. 8 meeting to provide information about its role in reviewing federal construction projects, when it would take up the ballroom and whether it had reviewed previous White House projects.

The draft included the subhead “Why is the National Capital Planning Commission reviewing the project?” under which it stated that the White House sits on federal land — a fact that “requires” federal agencies to get commission approval, according to a Dec. 19 email sent by commission General Counsel Meghan Hottel-Cox. White House staffer Heather Martin requested the addition of a sentence explicitly stating the White House is not a federal agency but had asked the commission to review the project “in the spirit of cooperation.”
