Mark your calendars and get ready for a fabulous and wonderful VBS this year. The theme is Saddle Ridge Ranch. So Saddle up your horses and get ready to ride the range! VBS will be Sunday, June 13 through Thursday, June 17 , 2010 with commencement on Sunday, June 20.

Just Give Me Jesus is designed to be a life-changing revival for women. It is free of charge. Join us in March 19-20, 2010 at the Bi-Lo Center. Just Give Me Jesus is a two-day event. Please plan to attend both days! Admission is free. Neither tickets nor registration are required.

We will be going as a group both days. We will leave Spartanburg around 4:30 Friday and will eat at the Bi-lo center. Then we will meet back up Saturday morning at a designated spot. If you are planning to meet us there, let Alicia know so we can save you a seat! Please contact Alicia Womick or sign up in the church lobby if you are interested in going!

RA Camp

Parents of boys in Ist through 3rd grade who are interested in going to RA Lad Camp this summer should see Jay Gilmore. Jay is working to get a date that will be good for everyone. There is a need for one adult to go for every five boys. Men who are interested in going, should also see Jay. Cost for camp is $100 per child or adult.

Softball

Teams are forming now for the church softball league. Anyone age 13 and up who is interested in playing this year should contact Nicole Sprinkle.

This is the first week in March which means that although it still feels like winter we know spring is coming. Spring will be a welcome relief this year. We have experienced our coldest winter in many years. Most of us are ready for some warmer weather. Of course by this summer we will be longing for cooler temperatures.

The changing of the seasons is a gift from God. It reminds us that he is able to bring transformation. I went to college near Kansas City, Missouri. While I suppose I will always be a southern boy at heart, there were some things I enjoyed about the mid-west. One thing I liked about northwest Missouri was that there were four distinct seasons. Summer is hot and winter is very cold, but fall and spring were incredibly beautiful. Whenever the heat of summer gave way to crisp air and colorful leaves, and when the icy blasts were replaced by warm breezes and blooming flowers, it reminded me that life is in a constant state of change. God has set the process in motion. He has also set in motion the process we call life.

In Philippians 1:6, the apostle Paul wrote that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. That verse
gives me a lot of hope! It tells me that God started His work in me. It also tells me that He will finish what He has started. In between, God has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Growth in Christ is indeed a process, and God is walking us through it. In Psalm 23, the psalmist said that whether God’s people are going through good times ( green pastures and quiet waters ) or tough times ( the valley of dark shadows ) the Lord promises us His presence. And His presence is enough!

Take some time to reflect on how God has made His presence real to you.

Praisebells

If you have a child in 3rd-6th grade that would like to participate in Praisebells, please email Leah Pettit with their information or fill out the sign-up sheet in the multi-purpose room. Praisebells will meet from 7-7:30 on Sunday nights , which is immediately after the children’s discipleship classes.

All youth are invited to see To Save A Life this Sunday, February 21. We will not have Discipleship that evening. We will eat at the churchwide fellowship Sunday morning after the service and leave the church at 1:30 pm. Each student will need to bring $7 for their ticket, and additional money for popcorn or candy if needed.
